g'night girls.........lini, rest your voice ok? that concert you put on had to be strenuous! -
You know what's really ironic? I have laryngitis. Lost my voice earlier today. Sleep tight everyone. Didn't even have a drink tonight. Just not in the mood.

hey you guys..........where is rondab?
I'm wondering, too. Haven't heard from her in a while. Does anybody know how she is, or where she is? Hoping you're having fun, rondab. Check in and let us know that you're okay.

helloooooooooo? anybody?
-
Funny Lini - no drinks for me tonight either. I am getting over a cold, it didn't stop me last night. But, tonight the mood around here is not right. Too much going on.

Just to lighten the mood and keep the spirit of this thread alive....
Why you should not drink with "friends" -
DH took the day off yesterday for a mental health day. We got out on the Harley and floated in the pool. A good day! Around 4pm he says, "Well, what do you want to drink today?". All I could think of was that we have turned into a couple of alcoholics ! It seems like that's all we ever do anymore! Not that I'm complaining. We buy B & G cabernet by the case!
Is this what happens to us post bc? I could pound em down pretty good before dx, but now it has gotten ridiculous. Guess what? I just don't give a sh*t anymore. It seems like I am living for today and I don't even think about tomorrow anymore. Right now I am thinking about the Cosmo or the pomegranet Martini that I am going to make when I go downstairs. Yum !
Anyway......since we are such a bunch of party animals, I thought I'd pass on some info on supplements for drinkers (who me ?). DH and I take milk thistle, alpha lipoic acid, extra B6 & B12 and a multi-vitamin. They are supposed to help protect and de-tox the liver. I hope it's true.
OMG! It's past 4:30 and I have been sitting at this damned computer for so long, that I have missed my start to my daily happy hour!
Cheers all you lovely ladies! Maybe I'll be back when I've had a few.

I'm baaack! It's a Pomegranate Martini ! And guess what? Pomegranate juice is a great antioxidant, so I am getting loaded and being healthy all at the same time. What could be better than that? DH just called and he will be late since he is stopping at a bar for a beer with the guys. "I drink alone. Yeah, with no body else" (me singing George Thorogood). My son (30 yrs. old) thinks it is just the bottom of the barrel to drink alone. Little does he know .
Now I'm going to have to figure out out to post a pic on a post. I managed to get the red wine avatar when I was totally trashed. I think that's the only way I can understand how to do it. I am a real computer moron. I registered on Photo Bucket, so I guess I have to download some pics there and then get them magically here. I do have instructions from kats, so I will muddle through.
Anyone else out there? Come on ladies, it's after 5:00! By the time you guys come on, I'm in bed.
Cheers!

IT'S FRIDAY!!!! Pass me a pome martini. Love those. Yummy, yum, yum. I haven't had a drink for a couple of days. It's time, even though it's only 4. IT'S FRIDAY!!!

Here it is, 3:00 am and I'm wishing I HAD been drinking earlier. Then at least I'd be asleep!
Anyone else find they can't drink beer during chemo? It burns the hell out of the back of my throat. Even red wine does but not as much (and not enough to deter me - I LOVE my red wine; beer is just OK).
I think I'll hit the local wine store tomorrow - they have Saturday wine tastings!! Might be time to try something new. -
Lauri: I love my wine. Pinot Grigio is my favorite. During chemo I couldnt drink anything. My onc even said one glass of wine would be ok, but it tasted awful, gave me indigestion, and burned just like you said.
But once chem was over it sure looked good and tastes great.

I couldn't drink during chemo either but I'm making up for it now!

Hi Ladies, I see your all doing fine. I'm healing well at this time.
One thing I had to tell you all, when the doc did my surgery last week, he blew my whole abdomin up so that he could look at all the other organs to make sure they were fine. Drinking a Mich Ultra and catching up. I had to leave for a few mins to fold laundry and do the dishes. This board has kept me too busy this weekend. I will try to get some work around here done tomorrow. I even missed most of the Emmy's.
My name is Christine and I am a bc.org addict.
