how about drinking?

How fun! It’s great to see you ladies all together 😀
-
So glad you three got a chance to get together!! The picture is great and Cami, I think your hair looks good the way it is, but if you feel you need the change then go for it.
-
Yay for BCO girl time, and I love, Love, LOVE the picture. Everyone looking great and so good to see you all partay-ing together!
-
Lookin' good, ladies! Next time, give me the heads-up so I can join you. (Cami, your hair looks lovely as it is).
PontiacPeggy (who now lives in Spokane) and NancyHB re-posted on FB a picture of our March 2016 Jackson, MI gathering at the Sandhill Crane Winery. I'll look for it and see if I can post it here: BCO mini-gathering in MI 2016
Hope the link works. If it does, I'm the (chubby) blonde seated top right just below Peggy, who's standing. My hair was more abundant then too.
Boston canceled its St. Pat's Day parade too. Still no word about Chicago's--we're supposedly the most Irish city in America. The ACC (American College of Cardiology) canceled its annual meeting for the first time in 60 years. Last year we went when it was in NOLA, and we attended the Irish Channel St. Pat's Day parade along St. Charles Ave. It was a gas, and we came home with tons of beads and tchotchkes. (We gave the cabbages and bags of carrots to homeless people for them to eat). Wonder what NOLA will do this year?
Those of us with spring pollen allergies are about to become pariahs, especially if (like yours truly) we get runny noses every time we come in from the cold.
Gonna try making decaf using the Kalita Wave dripper that arrived today. The Hario made some wonderful "high-test" brew this a.m. using La Colombe Frogtown medium-roast blend. Meanwhile, with seared cod & veggies I had a couple oz. of Collin Cremant de Limoux bubbly, so that was my DOTD. (If Bob gets home at a decent hour, might take a sip of the Pierre Ferrand Ambre cognac I bought him on Sat. If I have any alcohol too close to bedtime my GERD acts up).
-
Oops thought I was on the 'dinner' thread so I'll take my post over there. I too love the picture.
-
MinusTwo- we love to talk about food too. Tell us what you had for dinner!
-
OK, so I had a "pour-over-off" between the Kalita Wave and the Hario V60, and thus far I think the Hario made a more balanced cup of decaf yesterday and a nice cup of regular this a.m.; while the Kalita just made a very strong cup of decaf which had more bitterness but less acidity (and acidity is usually deficient in most decafs) than yesterday's. Will try making regular tomorrow with the Kalita. But thus far, I'm liking the new Hario.
-
Great picture! So fun to see the three of you. My son got his sewer problems fixed. Unfortunately, I ended up paying for most of it. He is buying the house, so the price just went up! That way I can recoup some of my money. Going to lunch today with some work friends. Guess I will be wiping down the seat, etc. We will be in a private room, but no telling who was there prior. We now have seven cases in S.C. with four of them from the next town. They are hospitalized here. I am going to continue to do what I want with some handwashing and clorox wipes.
The yellow pine pollen has started here. Sandy, if we avoided all people sniffing around here it would be a ghost town! My black car has turned yellow overnight! Might rain this week and that will help. Sorry the picture is sideways. Cannot fix it.
-
So I did a Kalita pour-over with Inca Red Peruvian light roast beans from La Colombe. It was delicious, better than last night's decaf, but I think the Hario still has the edge for balance. I prefer lighter roasts overall, because you're not getting that carbon-y taste from oils & sugars having been burned off. That original "Starbucks flavor profile" (which I liken to sucking on a burnt match) came from the dark roast they'd used for their House Blend (based on Peet's, at which their owners had worked/run for awhile before Schultz returned and started offering espresso drinks). When Schultz took over and had them switch to medium-roast Pike Place Blend and start offering lighter Veranda or Blonde roast as a "coffee of the day," customers complained that the coffee didn't have the familiar "Starbucks taste," so baristas simply raised the ratio of grounds to water, beyond the 2T/14gm the SCAA recommends. That's why all black coffee at Starbucks seems to taste the same. (I have them put a Tall in a Grande cup and add hot water so I can actually taste it).
They used to have "Clover" machines ($10K each!)--they actually bought the company so other coffeehouses couldn't get them. (I used to drink Clover-brewed coffee at Intelligentsia, and it was awesome--worth the high price). I had a Clover brew of pure Kona at a Starbucks in a university tech-hub town on the VA/TN border--and it was ambrosia, worth every penny of the $8. I haven't seen any Starbucks since that have Clovers. But pour-overs are the new "thing" at high-end coffeehouses, and they're worth the time & money. (If you go to such a place and see a counter with a row of filter cones suspended over little glass carafes, that's pour-over). There's an experimental cafe in downtown Boston along the Freedom Trail, near the Meeting House (next to the former location of Luke's Lobster, across from a giant Walgreen's), called "Clover Food Lab" (no relation, or maybe that's where the machines originated). They were the first to serve Impossible burgers, as well as insanely delicious vegan sandwiches, salads & snacks---and their pour-overs are all curated by coffee guru George Howell, who pioneered the artisanal roasting movement and use of single-farm-origin beans. If you like coffee, and you visit Boston, it's worth a ride on the T (or blistered feet from the long walk there).
My MO responded that Prolia doesn't immunosuppress like other biologics, so my sole COVID-19 risk is my age (69). My PCP replied that Bob & I should be fine at the concert--"business as usual, just be careful." He's familiar with my asthma but says I'm managing it very well. But per the CDC, nobody >60 should fly commercially (and who the heck can afford private planes?). We may take a driving vacation instead, maybe even hauling out the tent & sleeping bags to camp if the weather's good. As for the gym, if I go back I will wear rubber gloves, especially for the battle ropes. The rules mandate spraying & wiping down all equipment with disinfectant before & after anyway (always have during flu season). Speaking of which, I can't find any bleach! My housekeeper bought a half-gallon at a Target near her...it was $6. (That's 4x the usual price).

Good Morning, Loungettes!Had to poop into work early yesterday to welcome and orient thecurrent class of student nurses that will be working with us for the next few weeks. Then I got to come home "early", even though I did work 8 hours it seemed early to be leaving at 2:30. Got home, sat down with Sadie to take a 15 minute nap before tackling some housework. Sadie woke me up in time to fix her din-dins around 4 peeyem. So much for getting extra housework done! Tonight's Wednesday, Women, and Wine get together is still on and I'm looking forward to that!
Genny--Oh, WOW!!!!!!!! Great picture! So glad you could do that!
Morning, Illi!
Hey, Misty!
Hi, Jazzy!
Chi--Events are falling like dominoes, and I expect more to come. So far, so good here in Maine, with no positive tests yet. I expect that will change by the end of the week. I would love to be in New Orleans for Mardi Gras some year. It's definitely on my bucket list. Sounds like you have a new coffee making toy to play with!Have fun!
Don't tease us like that, Minus Two!
Librarian--Ah, the yellow pollen season has arrived for you! Maine is looking at a very early spring, so I'll be seeing the yellow pollen soon, too. Time to stock up on kleenex and loratadine!
Chi--I am laughing at not being able to find bleach.I was shopping the other day, the grocery store was out of bleach, Lysol, PineSol, and anything antibacterial (like that will help against a virus) yet the Dollar Tree in the same mall was still fully stocked with half gallons of bleach, PineSol knock off cleaners, and all kinds of cleaning stuff. Apparently it's beneath the dignity of many people to shop in a dollar store even in a crisis! Or maybe they just don't think about it.

Hi friends- well, NM now has it's first three presumptive Corona cases in New Mexico as of today. Two down south of here, one here in our area. The city and state has been preparing for awhile now and with the hot spots now popping up in other areas (NYC and Boston), it's hitting that tipping point they have been talking about.
WHO declared this a pandemic today. I was reading something in the local paper how the way this has behaved with mortality rates has really varied between China, and other locations. Iran is like 4.5%. This thing is really unpredictable. And I wish people (mostly on FB) would not make jokes about this. Diseases that kill people are no joke? Anyways, this girl has been thinking about this and preparing for awhile. I make sure I have enough things to self isolate if needed.
Cami- you got worn out in a good way!
Chi- I heard the same about flying if you are over 60. I turn 60 in two weeks, but have no travel plans right now. I told my nephew we will park any conversations about our Ireland trip we were wanting to do this fall for the longer term, maybe go next spring for St Patty's day. Have fun at your concert. I told myself my concert last week was probably the last in a while. They are cancelling everything here now.
JCS- well that was good of you to help your son with his expenses for the lines to the house. Our fruit trees are blooming here now and the pollen is going up here too but not like where you are.
Goldie- are you back home yet?
Genny- hope you are doing okay.
NM- I am not drinking that green drink, no way! I hope the virus stays away and from where you work too. Stay healthy sister.
I got contacted by a major company about a FT job here, which I interviewed for yesterday. I happened to know about this position being open and know others who have interviewed for it. That being said, they have not found what they want yet but felt yesterday they were very interested in me. I will find out on Monday if they want to talk further (up to two more interviews). I think this is something I can and would be happy doing until I retire. And it would give me a bit more financial security for my final years working. Wish me luck!
-
Hi again, I am having so many issues while travelling this time around it is driing me crazy (which is not that difficult at the best of times) I am back in Georgia till early Sunday am, then DH and I are heading home a few days early due to this virus. I am enjoying my time here immensely, sad but happy to visit with Dad, but sure different without Mom His senior home is allowing us to visit as we have been in the US for more than 2 weeks, thankfully, but I am thinking I will self contain when I get home...We went to Savannah today and had a lovely day trip, so will look forward to returning next year or sooner, for a longer visit. We were originally scheduled to go Sunday and Monday, but am returning home instead...I hope to catch up with all the back posts but probably won't happen till I get home! Stay safe, happy and healthy everyone, missing the camaraderie here - Cheers!

The Audra McDonald benefit concert is still on AFAIK, which surprises me a bit. I e-mailed Dominican's events office anyway. And I have no idea whether Little Company of Mary Hospital will postpone its annual Physicians' Recognition Dinner on 3/26 (at a country club with a 2-hr cocktail "hour" sans even a salted peanut, followed by awful country-club food: iceberg lettuce salad, overcooked steak & veg, potatoes, vanilla ice cream. Blecch. And it's a royal pain for me to drive out south in rush hour). Bob & I will be going out to Cellars tonight. Choir practice last night was cancelled, but not due to the virus: it was the annual Purim megillah reading service/celebration. (Sort of like a Jewish Mardi Gras). The Fri. night family "Share-a-Shabbat" corned beef & cabbage dinner & service, and Sat. night "karaoke Purim spiel" are still on too--wondering how wise that is, considering "social distancing" will be impossible.
Had my mani-pedi today, w/o incident. One client wore a mask, but that's because she flew in from NYC last night. She has been a bit nutty about this--including wearing plastic gloves to grocery-shop, sanitizing everything in her house (she lives alone). The techs all wore gloves, but they do so routinely anyway. Gordy came over on his day off to vote early (he still is registered here despite having moved away almost 2 yrs ago) and hang out with Carrie (who used to be his nanny and is now my asst./housekeeper) and the kitties. He says his office, VividSeats.com, is practically a "tale of two cities." The sales/customer svce. side is in turmoil: customers are canceling left & right, as are many events; there is talk of furloughs for those w/o seniority. The investigations/operations side (including Fraud, where he works) is business as usual, except with a request that employees noticing any symptoms or who believe they've been exposed work from home.
The Gov. is suggesting we vote by mail, so I'm getting my ballot application in online tonight (probably for Bob too). Will drop it in the mailbox Sun. or Mon. so it's postmarked in time to be counted. Haven't voted yet because there are a few downballot races (State's Atty., a few judges) about which I need to learn more. Drives me crazy when people say they don't vote on any races "they don't know about." Well, it's our business as citizens to know! Especially in the judge races--not only does the winner need 60% to keep her/his job, but you never know who will be presiding over your next traffic ticket or small claims case (for which parties are usually pro se, i.e., w/o counsel).

Good Morning, Loungettes!Happy Thirsty Thursday!Still no confirmed Coronavirus in Maine. My nursing home is going to start actively screening visitors next Monday, and restricting visitors when the first case is confirmed. Which I'm predicting will happen tomorrow, but we'll see who wins that pool. The U of Maine campuses are all closing down and going to on line education, students can't come back after break, students who stayed over break need to leave by the 22nd.That's going to be a big factor in slowing things down here in Maine, the returning students have been a big source of flu in the past. It's been fun and amusing watching this whole thing roll out. Sadie still is not impressed. Her opinion when we were talking about it last night was "If I gets sick, you takes care of me.If you gets sick, I takes care of you." It was a small group at the Wednesday, Women, and Wine get together, but it was fun. I had a cup of coffee with a shot of Kahlua for dessert, ahhhhhh, that just tastes and smells sooooooo goood.
Cammy Cat--LOL, baskin robins!
Jazzy--I think you are right that we are very close to the tipping point with the Corona virus. Do you not like green drinks in general, or is it the kiwi in this one that turns you off?LOLI think its funny how different things strike us differently. I just realized that the over 60 flying restriction applies to me! Not that I'm planning to fly anywhere in the near future, but I'm not used to restrictions like that applying to me. And I've gone back in to full virus protection mode, it worked all winter, it should work now, right? Good luck with the job opportunity!
Janky--Glad you are having a good trip.Good idea to quarantine yourself when you get home, just in case.
Chi--sounds like the Physicians' Recognition dinner might be a good one to skip, unless it's not politic to not show up. Voting by mail sounds like an interesting approach. People really do need to educate themselves and vote regularly, if only to keep the right to complain about the results!
Jazzy--I LOVE The Benefits of Wine pic! I'm stealing it!

- Vodka
- Orange Juice

Hi friends- 4 presumptive cases here now. They make the point of saying everyone is over 60 too. False sense of security. And have any of you seen the thing about holding your breath to check for lung fibrosis before you show signs of Corona? False too. If you are brave enough, go Google
Surprised and pleased to get my replacement SS card in a week's time. Now I wait for my new passport and waiting for
Chi- I would love to hear Audra McDonald! And the vote by mail thing is a great idea. Our primary is one of the latest (6/2) so I might see if I can get an ballot to vote by mail too. Thanks for sharing that.
NM- I thought that wine thing was great too, it came from FB and saw you put it back out there on your timelines. I hope you stay safe through this and hearing more group living places like nursing homes, assisted living, and rehabs are closing off to public visitors. The news said the social distancing is hardest for those who are home bound or living in group care situations. I have some elders I am calling to keep in touch and be sure they are okay. Stay well sister and praying it stays out of your state or is minimal.
And yes, I like lots of green drinks, including that leprechaun drink. That other one just did NOT appeal.
Janky- my mother passed away 8 years ago today. Although she and I were never that close, the absence of a parent is so palpable for us as adult children. Take good care of yourself and know that grief has it's process with us and there is no time table for that. Your dad sounds like he has a good support system for the long term. Much love coming your way.
Cami, Goldie, Genny, Teka, Celia C, Yoga and everyone else out there, wishing you a good day!

morning ladies 😀
I’m doing ok, still having throat issues but I’m adjusting well enough. I did manage to eat a slice of pizza yesterday, tiny bites but it was delicious.
As far as Covid is concerned, DH and I are preppers to a degree. Coming from California, we’ve always had a disaster box for emergencies and keep it up here for hurricanes or whatever and if things got real bad, there’s always our very isolated cabin. For now, it’s business as usual.
-
Ilona, yay for solid food--one tiny bite at a time!
I've heard of the hold-your-breath myth, and that it's been debunked. Lotsa crazy DIY b.s. out there--if it sounds too easy & cheap to be true, it likely is. Got a gallon of store-brand bleach at Target--$6. Oy. Enough TP for now, but gonna get some frozen veg & fresh greens anyway. 2 dinners' worth of leftovers in the fridge from last night. Maybe another dozen eggs. Enough coffee beans on hand--they go stale w/in a few wks anyway, and I have a near-lifetime supply of K-cups & Nespresso capsules.
Did go vote just now--library was deserted. Sanitizer & rubber gloves galore.
Have to get my new no-chip mani redone--three nails have already peeled up/fallen off. I don't think gel polish can handle all the hand-washing. May just have to give my nails a rest from gels for awhile till they can strengthen. Crazy afternoon--fence repair guy coming I don't know when, voice lesson (online) in an hr., have to be at nail salon by 4 for the soak-off & re-do. I will see if WF or Plum Mkt. has stuff left.
Last night was a Cabernet from the Alto Adige region of Italy/Austria. Had it with short ribs.
No word yet on the concert. But tom'w night a dear friend is holding a farewell party with his band--he's moving to SC to be w/his wife. (Second set of friends who've done that w/in the past 2 yrs., albeit different ends of SC). The party is at a little pizza joint/tavern near Bob's office on the SW Side. Other friends (one of whom is older than me, and a diabetic prostate cancer survivor) are going. Bob says if I'm careful it should be worth the risk--I may never see this friend again.
-
Temple just messaged me: cancelling all Purim festivities, and will live-stream Shabbat svces on Facebook. (Presumably no need to rehearse a choir that nobody may hear). Probably cancel the group Seder as well--so we'll do our own family one. Bob also now has an excuse to skip Mass.
-
This is for Cami who loves her kitties, but think a few more of you do too. Just something to make you all smile today
-
LOL, Jazzy!
As I expected, the Audra McDonald concert has been cancelled. Our Governor has banned all gatherings of >1000 people, and urged that those >250 self-cancel or postpone. B'way is dark (and so are the Chi. productions). My friend's farewell party tomorrow night at a pizza-tavern is still on--Bob suggests I go, but turn, say my goodbyes, and walk out if it's crowded. (Two mutual friends seem unfazed, though). Went shopping today for frozen fruits & veggies, and the market I chose (Plum Mkt.) had no cleaning or paper products save for the eco-Seventh Generation stuff. No Lysol spray (surface cleaners or air fresheners) in stock anywhere, not even online. Will have to fill spray bottles with Everclear or the little bit of peroxide & precious gallon of bleach I still have. Plenty of TP and paper towels on hand, though.
-
Good Moring, Loungettes!Happy TGIF day!Well, I missed the first presumptive case by half a day. First presumptive COVID-19 in Maine was announced yesterday peeyem. At work we're going to limit visitation to 9 ayem to 5 peeyem, with screening all people entering the building starting this ayem. We actually contacted the Dept of health and human services and asked about closing to visitors and we were flat out told that we would be in violation of state and federal regulationsand be in violation of resident rights to do so before the Maine CDC, Maine DHHS and Medicare recommend making that move. Which they won't do until there is a large number of cases in the community. So keeping COVID-19 out of the nursing home is going to be next to impossible, and we will still be cited if a resident gets it because we have a duty to prevent it getting it, but we'll be cited if we close to visitors now, too. Talk about a can't win situation. A couple of the biggest nursing homes in Maine have closed to visitors, but they are huge buildings with the financial resources to pay off the citation fine without too much trouble. Smaller homes like mine don't have the financial resources to do that. We do live in interesting times.
Sadie says Woof to everyone this ayem!
Jazzy--The presumptive case here in Maine is a 50 year old woman, who has traveled, and is isolating at home. Her contacts are being traced. And so it begins. I haven't heard the holding your breath thing, it's amazing the craziness that's out there. Group living situations are always the hotbeds for infectious respiratory diseases like this. Once something comes in, it's very hard to get it cleared out. I'm praying we can keep this one out, all of our residents are high risk for severe disease. We'll have to see.Hugs on the anniversary of your Mom's death. Always a hard time.
Illi--Glad to hear you got to eat a piece of pizza!Progress! I figure the usual weather-related precautions are good enough, too. Still trying to figure out why toilet paper is being hoarded this time around. I could understand hoarding kleenex, this is a respiratory disease after all, but toilet paper???The isolated cabin would be a wonderful place to wait out this whole thing!
Chi--Funny how you and I both thought of coffee beans as a key item to think about! If you may never see the departing friend again it may well be worth the risk of going to the party. How many cases are there in your immediate area?
Jazzy--Love the kitty planting advice!
Chi--Health care grade alcohol cleaners are all around 60% alcohol, so you can dilute the expensive Everclear and make it last longer. There is no benefit to going above 70% alcohol, the pathogen kill rate levels off at that point, and the damage to skin and surfaces starts to tick up at about the same point. The health care standard for bleach solutions is 2.5% to 5% for routine cleaning, 10% for surfaces with known contamination with blood or infected body fluids.
A reminder to everyone--DO NOT MIX BLEACH WITH ANY OTHER CHEMICAL!Do not mix bleach with alcohol. Do not mix peroxide with other chemicals.
If you are spraying alcohol or bleach based cleaners remember to wear a mask AND eye protection! The mask can be a bandana or scarf, it does not need to be a medical type mask. Especially important if you or a family member has asthma, COPD, or any other lung condition. This is why spray cleaners are generally not allowed in health care settings.
Actually, peroxide is not a good choice for disinfection in this situation. To be a reliable disinfectant on surfaces peroxide need to be 6% or higher, which is twice the strength available over the counter, and needs to be in contact with the surface and pathogens for a minimum of 20 minutes, and must be mixed up fresh for each use (can't be sitting in a spray bottle) to maintain potency. Direct skin contact with 6% peroxide is damaging, and a mask and eye protection is also required.
A down-and-dirty quick way to make your own hand sanitizer is to take any 4 ounce bottle of hand lotion, empty out half the bottle, then empty out just a bit more (aiming for another half ounce), fill with rubbing alcohol, shake up until mixed. That will give you a 60% to 70% alcohol mix by volume. Most everyone can eyeball this and be close enough to be effective IF USED REGULARLY. One of the advantages of alcohol based hand santizers is that there is a cumulative effect when used repeatedly.
Another down-and-dirty trick is to wear gloves in public. Not latex or plastic gloves, just regular knit or cotton gloves. Use gloved hands to open doors, touch railings in public places, etc. Take the gloves off and put them in a plastic bag in your purse or pocket. Use hand sanitizer immediately after taking gloves off. Wearing gloves will help you remember to not touch your face, and will provide a barrier and decrease the number of viruses and bacteria that get on your hands.

Thanks for the info about homemade cleaners. What about white vinegar? I think I have plenty of hand sanitizer and wipes to last for a month or so. If I do not share too much with others! My DH had band practice last night in our basement. Players were instructed to bring their own sanitizer. We could supply soap and water, but no sanitizer. I did go to lunch and played cards yesterday. I am rationalizing that if I am with people I know I can control exposure. Probably less than smart. We did cancel going to Asheville for the guitar show. Too many strangers in the crowd.
I do plan on hitting the grocery store for food. Toilet paper is not available! After that I will stay home except for medical appointments or small social groups.
I am very disappointed over the NCAA playoffs. The Lady Gamecocks will be the default #1, but Baylor might have had a chance. Having no basketball will free me up to watch some Netflix shows. Such problems!!!! -
Well, I'm home girls. I was supposed to get into Phoenix at 9:30, in plenty of time to make my MO appt. Plan was delayed, mechanical problems and we got in an hour late. I called to ask if I can still come, the girl says no, Dr. won't see late people. I said I think he will for me, she says no. I get a call back from MA, come on in Lori. My doctor says I'm an exceptiong, and I was sure to let that receptionist know! Got my son set in rehab, just pray it works. I'm gonna go back and read and then most likely jump in at present tomorrow.

Going for my DEXAScan in an hr.--Bob says just wash my hands before & after and make sure the tech wipes down the table. I'm not gonna be a dirtbag and try to refill a little empty bottle from the communal sanitizer dispenser in the lobby: there's a special place in Hell for people who do that. Thanks with the tip that it's necessary to dilute the Everclear. We're just going to use mult-surface cleaners like Mrs. Meyer's or Seventh Generation once we run out of the officially-antiseptic stuff. People have been tweeting pix of totally empty aisles in locsl Target stores, devoid of any supplies whatsoever. I do need some more plastic storage bags, so will hit Jewel, Cermak Mkt. or TJ's on the way home from Evanston Hosp. Bob says that if he were an ophthalmologist he would suspend eye exams other than plain refractions or emergencies--but my ophtho's office called this morning to tell me it's still up & running for my Mon. appt.
As to tonight's party, I will probably suck it up and drive down there (rush hour'll be over) and if Bob's off (which he likely won't be because he had cancelled office for tomorrow in anticipation of a 5pm curtain time for the concert that's now cancelled) he may drop by. Start time is 8, but my friend's band is probably going on later. If it looks too crowded, I will say brief farewells and go home. And if my allergies worsen (I do sneeze, and my salivary glands are clogged due to intermittent fasting--have had that since my 20s), I may have to stay home to avoid freaking others out.
Temple has cancelled everything except Shabbat worship--which services they are requesting nobody over 60 attend, but rather watch and hymn-sing on Facebook Live (interactive). The archdiocese has cancelled all Masses until further notice, and asking people to limit funerals & weddings to 100 or fewer guests. LCM's banquet has been cancelled (the country club demanded it), Hope Cellars' wine dinner on the 25th is still on--it's vital to keep local businesses alive (and tip generously), so long as we feel well enough to go out.
No gym--lots of outdoor walks, fitness bike, treadmill, resistance bands, and hand weights instead. I could grab a cart for balance at WF (sanitizing it first) and lightly jogging a few circuits around the parking lot.
My singing partner up in Madison has seen a major income stream--shows at nursing homes--dry up overnight. We are thinking of doing virtual house concerts on FB Live with honor-system donations via Venmo or Zelle. I may do some solo just to keep people (and myself) entertained. If so, I will let you know dates & times.

JCSLibrarian - We are also bummed about no NCAA March Madness. The games are always exciting & we have so many good teams from around here to cheer for - Univ of Cinci, Xavier, Dayton, Butler (Daughter is an alum), Univ of KY, Univ of Louisville (anyone except Duke & Ohio State).
Goldie - Glad you arrived home, son in rehab & managed to make to the Dr visit.
Chi - Like you, we always have plenty of TP and Paper Towels. Stocked up on lots of other things so we can shelter in place. Disinfectant supplies not available anywhere, but have plenty of soap, our regular cleaning solutions & some bleach. Scored a 32 oz bottle of hand sanitizer earlier this week. Went to 2 stores in N Ky yesterday and today, hit 4 in Ohio and 1 more in N Ky to stock up on food items.
One thing for sure - adult beverages are plentiful. A lady in her 70s in line today had a 6 pack of the brew shown below in her cart & it gave me a good laugh. Anyone every tried this?
