Deb - send your son here - my car is filthy!!
-
hi ladies,
i just wanted to say hello. sorry for being absent for a bit...i'm involved in a big custody battle at work and it's taking up a lot of my time. i've been coming home exhausted every day.
but i'm thinking of you all and will catch up this weekend
love,
amy -
Hey guys, Im here, I just cant catch up. I have so much to say to you all but again for this morning I will try to just hit the high points.
Joelyou are a hoot! Thanks for passing on the good report of Cindys surgery and her Amazon woman status.
Ronnieso happy to hear your good news too and especially that youre going to go on your get-away to our Pacific Island state!
Laura-Mary-AnneThe gloves are just too perfect for our fists up lady. Laura, hope the pain youre experiencing evaporates as you relax on your trip.
(I feel like Laura trying to pack her suitcase-I started this quick note when I came to work this morning and now its 12:30) Am sending it as is. Making no more promises Will pick on you one at a time maybe after lunch. Im patheticseriously NOT!! -
Hi Cathy!
Hi Amy!
Okay..lights out. It's time for BED here in the middle east!!!
G'nite. -
Ravdeb, Chocolate cake, yummy, I could go for a piece right about now. I guess I am too late since you are going to bed. Sleep tight and don't be surprised if your cake is missing when you get up........lol
-
I'm home. All went well. The tumor turned out to be around 1.5cm. Breast surgeon didn't think it would warrant chemo, but I plan to call my onc tomorrow. We may need to wait for more path results.
The PS put 400cc in my expander before closing me up! He *did* shoot Botox in the muscle, which is helping, but I certainly know when it's time to take more Percoset and Valium! Yeesh!
Even though I slept well at the hospital, it was interrupted so often, I didn't get much of it. So I'm really, really tired. Off to bed for at least a nice long nap.
It's good to be home and feel my elephant sisters around me. And yes, Joel is a pretty goofy guy. We're a good match that way. Our house is full of laughter.
Thanks for all the kind wishes. -
Cindy, So glad you are home. Now rest and take care of yourself. It's good to laugh, I love to laugh and I agree it's the best medicine and a husband with a sense of humor is even better.
-
Hi Sisters,
A quick check in really tired, finally finished the wallpapering. We have the basement organized and now just cleaning up. Yah!
Cindy---the very best for a quick recovery, really pamper yourself. Your hubby sounds like a sweetie...you can sense his humour in the message he sent last night. Glad to hear you are home now.
Here is a picture of the finished dining room.
Love to you all!
Michele
P.S. I promise I wont bore you with any more pictures of our house.LOL. -
Michele, Your dining room turned out really nice. You aren't boring me, I love seeing the pictures.
-
Michele - I love the pics too! The dining room looks great!
Cindy - rest up sister!! So glad you're home - wow, they started you off with 400 cc's???? yikes!! Take those meds, friend!!
Cathy - ((hugs))
Ok one more thing checked off my list - I tested negative for the BRCA genes...
Mike will be going to FL by himself - he'll fly into Orlando Sat. afternoon and will come home on Mon...would love for all of us to go but not possible...
well, hope you are all having a great night!
Lots of love, -
Michelle, your hard work is going to pay off BIG time!!!
-
Cindy..so good to see you posting. Rest up and enjoy the valium. Hope there is not tooooooooooo much pain. Thinking of you Elephant Sister! Trunks up!
Michele...beautiful, beautiful work. Okay, you are hired! When do we start???
Gail.. the cake is still in the fridge ready to be frosted. I didn't notice any bites from it. I guess you didn't come! I'll try to send some cake to each of you via the boards. Just try to keep the chocolate under control so as to not mess up my screen!
Linda..if you are lurking at all... was wondering how you were doing and how your sister is doing. Am thinking about you... -
Oh Cindy - good to have you back !! Take it easy now - there is no rush to do anything , just get better!
V - how are you managing to go away so close to your surgery? Dont you have follow up apps to go to? Your not rushing to do too much too soon are you ??? Just dont go carrying everyone elses bags!!
Deb - 8.10 in th emorning here - some chocolate cake would go down real nice !
Michelle - the dining room looks well - the buyers are going to have a property to just walk in to. When are you looking at moviing??
http://212.50.188.105/cgi-win/vebra.cgi?details1?src=vebra&PropertyCode=1086008/WINDS/61932/8 - if this works , these are the sort of prices we pay , (remember the camera makes things look bigger) this is just down the road from us ( we are number 6) its one of the smaller semis like the one we moved from. I guess this is about $300,000 - $350,000 ?
Went to see some friends alast night. rog drove cos i hate driving in the dark with him as a passenger , and he scratched my car ! Just glad it wasnt me - would never have heard the end of it!
I was thinking about Linda last night too - she sure has a lot on her plate at the moment , hope Isaac is continuing to inprove. -
Oh Debbie..I want that house! It looks perfect for me! We have a 4 bedroom house now that we built and yes..it's beautiful but I'd like to give it to one of the kids and build a smaller house on a lot that is being handed down to them (inlaws are handing down the lots, not us...!). I want to downsize. Our house is great for a family with a nice size basement that could be made into a recreation room (it's my studio and I taught here all these years..).
So..yea...I could live in that house that is advertised!
Sorry your car got scratched.
Okay...later when the candles are in place I'll be taking a picture of the cake and then will save some pieces to squeeze past the internet server and onto bc.org! First come first serve! -
Well, I did too much yesterday. Duh. So my pain levels were worse than I'd like, but I slept seven hours straight last night so I'm definitely getting better! I keep reminding myself that surgery was just Wednesday so I need to Take It Easy!!!
Just getting home from the hospital was a chore but I'm resting so much better at home. The 400cc in the expander is the biggest problem but it's manageable.
It has been so much fun to watch Michelle's remodeling projects! And I really like the duplex Debbie posted. I'm wanting to do some work in our kitchen and those tile backsplashes are so attractive! I want new countertops desperately. Ours date from 1963. No kidding! If they weren't so beat up, they'd be retro chic!
Ooops, the drugs are kicking in because I feel a great need to tell you all that I love you guys in that serious-comic way that drunks have. LOL
"No, really, man. I really LOVE you, man!"
(And, of course, I really, really do...) -
So glad you are back, Cindy. Tell your hubby that it was so nice of him to humor us with his words but give us the good info at the same time. It's so good to have a house filled with laughter!
Debbie, you think prices in England are horrendous? You should try California. 4 years ago I bought here and the asking on my house was $359,00 but they sold cheaper to me since I had a lot of cash, my other house was sold and I had already qualified. To buy in my neighborhood due to the all the expansion in our area is now up to the $700,000 range. Thats $ not £ !!!! -
Cindy - LOL! You Go Girl - enjoy those drugs you earned them! I am so glad you are back with us!
I haven't heard anything from the Komen position (didn't really expect to - its one of those dream jobs) but it would still involve a commute..... I am confused right now, not sure what I want or where I want to work or if maybe I should just ride it thru where I am and hope it gets better..... ARRGGHHH!!! -
OK, so now Rog is planning our August route. I really do feel that we will be needing Lauras goat to get around.
Oh goodness Kelly , be thankful you moved when you did!! I know a lot of people over here have 2nd homes in Florida as it is cheap there , guess 'areas' vary like they do here. We paid £195,000 ($390000?) for ours 2 1/2 years ago due to it being a 70s timewarp , we ahvent finished renovating yet but its worth around £250000 ($499000) due to the stupid rise in prices. i dont want to live in a British bungalow anymore - i want to live in a an American house with big rooms and wooden verandas ( because i just know they are all like that!)
Cindy - get behind me in the line for cake "" -
Nice to see you feeling better Cindy. You too V. Get better and enjoy the summer, I say.
Michelle, nice work on the house. Don't get me decorating! I love, love, love it although I'm being a bit lazy myself at the moment. I have two panels to make for my banded look in my bedroom but I haven't even bought the fabric. Maybe over the weekend. -
so glad our tough surgery ladies are doing so well! you guys are superstars
-
Cindy..enjoy those drugs. We love you, too!!!!!
Okay..so I saved you guys a piece of cake. I wanted to take the pics of my son and his cake on my camera but my batteries were dead! So, my daughter's bf took the pics on her camera and I have no idea where the camera is. They may have eaten your piece of cake. I hope not! I'll check it out tomorrow and then try to get it through my screen and onto the boards.
I am wearing cheetah shoes, Ladies!
And by tomorrw my batteries will be charged cuz I have another pic to take and show you all...
V...hope the blood tests were good...really good!
Debbie..what plans does Rog have in mind in August???
Tracy..I feel for you about the job hunt. I hate that feeling of not knowing exactly what you want to do. But the good thing is that usually it works itself out if you give it some time. Good luck!
Hi Amy! What are your weekend plans? You always seem to have fun things lined up.
TracyNY..the mad seamstress and interior designer! I need you here badly! -
hi ladies,
I've had the longest week ever and I'm so excited it's the weekend. Lots of court-related cases at work, which always stress me out. I have gotten out all my frustration at the gym and have actually been every single day this week! The weather has been fantastic and my husband and I have been playing a lot of tennis My poor hubby has to work all weekend, so I'm relaxing and my parents are coming to visit tomorrow
Cindy....your post made smile. good drugs i like your husband. his post made me smile too
tracy...good luck with the job!!!
victoria...hope your tests went well. let me know what happens.
michele...your pictures are making me want to remodel stuff in my house. i don't have the patience though.
deb....send me cake i freakin' love cake....one of my favorite desserts.
everyone else...i hope you have a good weekend!!!! -
Cindy and V. - good to hear all is well with both of you!!
Yay, the weekend IS here!!! I am helping a friend of mine move today - they have built their dream house, and it is beautiful.
Tomorrow i might do some rollerblading. Its my last opportunity for a while. Uh-oh, my op is coming up SOON!!! only 5 days to go...
have a lovely weekend ladies. -
Paula - go and rollerblade ! The op will be worth it.
Deb - are you ready for Rogers route?
OK - Cleveland , Pittsburgh , Washington , Indiannapolis , Chicago , (thats the first week ) then meander back to PIttsburgh for the second , then Cleveland. We have all the AAA maps ( that makes me laugh) spread all over the conservatory floor , with pages marked in the guide books. Are the pandas still in Washington zoo??
Have a good weekend folks
Debbie -
What is in PIttsburgh and Cleveland that is so enticing for you that you need to return there? Just wondering...
Don't know about the pandas...
Why don't you go south and try out the Smokey Mountains? It's so beautiful there. Not sure of your time limit and what you really want to see.
I agree..Paula...go for it!!!
Amy...I can't find the cake! -
Debbie, The houses in England are neat......We still haves houses similar to that in Buffalo. Boy, you have quite an agenda when you come to the states. I think you should move here.......lol.......BTW, I sent you a PM.
Amy, If I recall correctly your house looks nice just the way it is. Believe me you don't want to start to change things because then it begin's a vicious cycle.
Cindy, Glad you are on the mend. We love you too........
Deb, What do you mean you can't find the cake? lol.....In my case that is OK, I better forget the cake .........OMG I just got on the scale and it's not a pretty sight.
Tracy, Good luck with the job hunt. You never know they may still call you.
TracyNY, Sound's like you are really doing well with the sewing. I guess you found one of your new talent's. One among many.
Paula, Have fun rollerblading.
Rosemarie, BRCA neg. That is great news.
Still raining here, but tomorrow is supposed to be beautiful, I HOPE......
Everyone enjoy your weekend.
GG -
Gail..I meant that i saved a piece of cake on my computer and it had gone missing..Amy said she wanted a piece. Now, I found the cake but it is stuck over there in a file and doesn't want to be exposed, apparently. Don't worry..I'll figure it out soon, I hope!
-
Okay..here's your piece of cake!
-
Deb, Oh that's funny........remember you are smart, you will find it........lol.
-
There it is.......look's yummy! Glad it is on the computer or it would be gone......lol
