Ravdeb,
I feel bad for your 91 year old friend. I hope she does whatever it is she is comfortable with after advice from you and doctors.
My Ma's tummy has been bloated for the past several weeks. She says she feels fine, but her bathroom trips have been less frequent. She saw a GI doctor who suggested a scan. At first she did not even want to think about it. She's 87 and if they found something she would not want to go through treatments. I, being selfish, said that if they did find something it is bound to be small, may just be a polyp. She is going to have the scan Monday. That would be tomorrow for her.
I'm worried.
Laura... I told you in my last email that I really want to go, but until I know about several of the trips I need to make in the summer (one of them for school) I don't think I'll be able to decide. When is the absolute deadline for my decision?
Love you all, -
Hi Amy! Hope you're having a nice weekend.
TADAH -
You mentioned you are going to Atlanta...? I think you did...if so, have you ever gone to the Ballard Outlet Stores? www.ballarddesigns.com
There's one in Atlanta and one in Roswell (both GA). When I used to attend the Atlanta Wholesale Gift Show, I always stayed an extra day, and hired a driver for the day to take me there, wait while I shopped and then he took me back to my hotel (it was less expensive than a taxi). But let me know if you know of this store...they have FAB stuff!
Laura -
Has anyone heard of this:
FDA approves new breast cancer test
and if you have, what do you think of it? -
Brenda -
I really hope all turns out okay with your Mom. Hang in there...keep us posted. Fingers, toes, crossed for you two!
No problem...you still have time. I don't think it will be a problem waiting for your schedule. I'm just trying to keep everyone updated as to what's going on, who's for sure, who's undecided, etc. When Roy and I were in CA - we booked our flight, two weeks in advance and same w/the hotel and we still got a pretty good deal.
Laura -
Laura: Nice website for Ballard. As a matter of fact I will be staying in Roswell so I'll see if I can get to the showroom. I spent the day clearing up my three storage units with my next husband and he would kill me if I told him I was buying more stuff!
I managed to compact my belongings down to two units and I inventoried everything. I even found two brand new pairs of pants, tags on, that'll be adding to my wardrobe for next week!
No sign of the furniture man. I am not even thinking about him. When I spend his money he'll just have to wait until I go to the bank again to pay him. I bought a new convection microwave today when I was in the Home Depot. 1000 watts, its like a blast furnace!!
Tomorrow is sewing class. I bet it'll be a bundle of laughs! -
TaDah -
OMG - LOL "your next husband"! LOL
Sewing class! OMG - I love to sew. dh bought me a sewing machine and a serger! I'm a maniac on it! Have fun...let me know how it goes and what you're making. -
Next husband? How many are you planning to have? This is the 3rd, right? Have you gotten engaged yet??
I would bet that taking a sewing class with you would be fun and that you'd probably drink a nice cocktail and tell the teacher what you need her to make! -
TaDah: Are we invited to the wedding? We will all be your bridesmaids in our animal prints! I'm even willing to change the meeting venue to N.Y.!
-
Michele, We escaped all the snow. Well, we got some but not as much as Oswego which is near Syracuse I think. We were lucky this time only about a foot but VERY cold.
Brenda, Sorry to hear about your Mom. Hopefully it is nothing serious. I am glad she is going to have it checked out. That is funny about animal print bridesmaid dresses.
Tadah when is the big event and does he know yet? lol
Sewing classes, somehow I can't picture it. I used to love to sew, not so much anymore. When my daughter was young I used to make her cute little dresses, it was a lot of fun. -
PaulaHappy Birthday. Hope you're going out and doing something special to celebrate!
-
BrendaI join you in believing whatever is wrong with your mom is small. Saying prayers.
TracyNYCongrats on reducing the storage by one. Oh and on the up comimg nuptials as well!! So are you planning to sew your dress? You do live the most interesting life.
Gail, I'm glad you're not buried under any of those NY 20 foot snowbanks.
It's late and I have a ton of stuff to do before flying out to NYC tomorrowl Sweet dreams all. -
Hope you have a wonderful day!!!! -
Cathy..have a safe trip!
Brenda..I do hope your mom is okay..maybe a urinary infection of some kind?
Gail..glad you don't have to shove snow off the roof like I saw on-line this morning.
TracyNY..your NEXT HUSBAND???? Is there something you have not told us??? And a sewing class???? Just what are you learning to sew? I thought you were a shopper!!!!!
I'm off to call the congregant and see how she is doing today. I think I'll feel it out as I don't want to panic her, and I don't want to step on her toes, either. She is very independent and so.... we'll see how she sounds on the phone.
Hope Paula is off having the time of her life!!!!
Be well everybody. -
Happy birthday Paula! Hope its fun and exciting and that you see many, many more!
I told you all about my next husband. He started out as my 9 to 5 husband from work and got promoted!! He is second in command and I am his supervisor. We met on my first day at work over 12 years ago and you cannot convince anyone who knows us that we aren't a couple. We really aren't a couple but we will be the second we quit working together.
He's been after me since we met and he's tall and handsome and hilarious. We laugh all day long and we have such great attendance at work because we enjoy being together. I am too principled to start something while we work together although he says it wouldn't make a difference because no-one believes that we aren't lovers!!
Yes, I love shopping but I enjoy decorating and I'm taking sewing lessons so that I can quit bothering my sister-in-law to make my drapes every season. I plan on making roman shades for my summer look.
I also took up sewing so that I would have something to plan for every week. It just seemed to me like everytime I look around another week has passed and I really haven't accomplished anything. -
What a great idea...to make your own drapes. I do marvel at your energy, Tracy NY!
AHHHHHHHHh...got the idea about the next husband. Reminds me of like on ER when the doctors fall in love but have to do it in the closet (literally..usually the linen closet!!) cuz nobody is supposed to know!
OMGOSH ria...Jacks! I LOVE playing jacks! A few years ago we bought a really nice set of jacks in a suede pouch when we were in Chicago and I taught my kids. They didn't play with jacks here in Israel, but they had another game that was similar with stones. We still sometimes get on the floor and throw the jacks. How FUN!
Are those cheetah candles on the cake for Paula???
Well, my 91 year old friend wants to do all of this on her own, as I had predicted. She said she didn't need me to go with her to the oncologist. I told her we would just keep in touch and if she needed my help, I was willing. She totally appreciated that and the fact that I pretty much respected her privacy and independence. I mean..she's 91 for goodness sake and she does know what she wants! Today she starts teaching an adult woman English. She's giving private lessons because she told me she feels she needs to do more "outside her body" and not only do things for herself. SHE IS 91!!!!! Amazing, huh? -
My husband now has the stomach virus I had,it hit quickly just like mine. He was fine when we went to the show and when we got home it started. He was up until 3:30 am. this morning vomitting. He is now sleeping it off.
We went to go Because I said so with Diane Keaton. It was funny but she had such an annoying character in the movie, felt like bomping her one!
Paula - Happy, Happy Birthday. Hope you are out enjoying your day!
Brenda - I hope there is nothing seriously wrong with your mom. Will keep her in my prayers. At this point in treatment I dont think I would want to know what my chances of reoccurance are. I have done everything humanly and medically possibly to beat the beast the first time around! So no looking back....I would worry my life away knowing that my risk of it returning could be high. I have started to move on with my life.
Now if I was just starting out newly diagnosed that is a whole new ball game and I would probably take the test.
TracyNy - you;ll be cooking up a storm now with that new oven. Sewing classes sound like fun. The last thing I made was in grade school a pair of brown polyster gouchos. I was so proud of them. Husband #3 sounds like a good friend who has potential once the working relationship doesnt exist any longer.
Tori - that cake looks yummy, but look at all the candles on it!
Deb - your friend sounds like an amazing women and so sharp too! You should bring the jacks game with you, we could have a game or two.
Love to everyone....
Michele -
Happy Birthday Paula Have a Great Day!
Tadah, You amaze me. I just wish I had half of your energy.
Vicki, I remember those dresses that crosssed in the back, they were so easy to make.
Hey to the rest of you....I will be back later. -
V --- Actually, I do know how to play jacks! My daughter has some jacks and it's one of the toys she is willing to give away because she can't do it yet and I keep putting it back in the box and tell her pretty soon she will be able to do it.
Happy birthday Paula!!! -
TracyNY, thank you for the pics! I am going to have to scan some of my pics and post them, I have some really good ones. Thanks for the calendar, too. I just love Barbados!!!
-
Kelly -
Sorry I missed your call the other night! I loved your update...Arghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh! LOL -

Happy Birthday to you
Happy Birthday Dear Paula!!!

May you have fun and frolic on this, your special day!
-
Talked to my Ma. She's weak from the prep work before the scan, but in good spirits. She was getting dressed to go to the hospital. I told her I loved her and that I still needed her to be around...
Thanks for your caring words and thoughts. -
Happy Birthday Paula!!

I have the worst headache imaginable - infected sinuses so i missed going sledging and missed work Friday. dad is in hospital with pnemonia and catherines is really ill - her temp hit 106 last night and the dr wont see her as 'you are doing a fine job of keeping things under control'. well cheers mate!!
Deb -
-
Debbie..
I hope that sinus infection clears up soon.
You sure have your hands full with your dad in the hospital. I hope he gets better quickly.
and Catherine..106??? That sounds dangerously high. And the doctor wouldn't see her? 106 F???? Are you going to take her to the hospital?
I hope everybody is better fast at your house!
Sending lots of good thoughts your way. -
Brenda, glad your ma is doing better ...... prayers for her.
Debbie, hope you and fam get better soon!!! I will be missing your antics!
-----
Off to a birthday party at Build A Bear Workshop. My daughter's best friend is having her 6th birthday so Teryn is so excited. The two little girls are always so excited to be together. Teryn didn't go to her afterschool program this week since my mom was here and Savannah's mom saw Teryn's invite still in her cubby on Thursday. I got a panicked phone call telling me about the party and at 9:15pm Savannah came with her dad dropping off Teryn's invitation.
We did already have plans with David but I asked him if we could take a rain check and do something else this evening instead of today ....... Boy am I glad I was flexible when his plans changed ..... -
Debbie -
IS THAT 106 DEGREES - FAHRENHEIT? Here in the states - that's Emergency Room visit. Celsius would be 42...Yikes. Hope EVERYONE is better soon.
------------------------
Girls -
I'll never forget one time when we went to MX - Roy got really, really sick. The bad MX sick (both ends). I can still see him sitting on the edge of the bed in his undies, shaking from the chills, pen and paper in hand - trying to convert the Mexican Celsius thermometer reading to Fahrenheit (I ran down to the gift shop and bought it, not thinking to check which one it was)! OMG It was actually quite funny - and I had to hide in the bathroom with a towel over my face to muffle my laughter! I felt bad that he was so sick, but it was quite a sight. He really got mad when I tried to snap a photo of him. LOL OMG LOL
---------------------------------------------
Brenda -
Angus is soooooooooooooooooo darned cute! You've become pretty savvy with the graphics and photoshop perhaps! LOL
Victoria -
...only Roy and acquaintances call me Laura, close friends call me Laura, Laura or Laura and I will be signing with Laura because it captures my mood in the moment. LOL
Laura -
Paula *****HAPPY BIRTHDAY*****
106!!! OMG!!! I'd be freaking! Oh Debbie!!! Saying a prayer!
Cathy - I've gotten all my "stuff" together, updated and tweaked my resume, have my Indiana teaching cert., now I just have to go to the county office and drop everything off and then I plan on making my rounds, shaking hands with principals, etc...(So, I talk a big talk! Do I REALLY want to go back to work????)
V - one of the names we had picked out for Kiersten was Victoria and planned on calling her Tori but a friend from church had a baby and "stole" the idea, lol. Love it!
All my college friends, including my dh, call me Ro...no other exciting name!
TracyNy - hubby number 3 sounds like a keeper!
Brenda - prayers for your Ma!
gotta run, have a great night ladies!!
Love to all of you!! -
I have had just about enough of these two guys, my dh and grandson. They won't let me on the computer.......how dare them....lol.....I swear they were on here for 5 hrs straight playing games.
Debbie, I just have to hope 106 is not in Fahrenheit........yikes, that would definitely be an emergency situation. I hope your headache is better. I also have a terrible headache today that I am blaming on sinuses........
Michele, That's too bad that the stomach flu in going through your family. There's a lot of flu around here too. I just hope I don't get it. I am the biggest baby when it comes to being sick.
Laura, Was Roy sick from the water, food, etc? Or was it really the flu? My friend got real sick when she went to Mexico and it turned out to be a parasite. Took the doctor's awhile to figure it out. Actually my friend figured it out when she saw her symptoms in a magazine and brought it to the doctor's attention. Well, I guess you don't have to worry about that since it is over and done with. Nothing worse than going from both ends. Are you still going away with your Mom this year too?
Tracy, that is such a nice gift for Dave. I am sure he will LOVE it....You are such a romantic, that is sooo cute.
Ravdeb, If they don't want to do any more surgery on your friend do you think maybe it has spread? What about radiation? Or don't they do radiation for that? Cancer really Sucks....
Rosemarie, Best of Luck finding a job.
Paula, I hope you are enjoying your birthday!
