Laura, I can't wait for the surprise, I love surprises...Sound's like you were able to make the snowstorm fun. I can't even imagine how cold that would be walking barefoot in the snow......burrr..sound's like fun though. But the Hot tub sounds like the best part. Yesterday at our get together I was wondering if you got hit with the storm. Well, guess who is getting it now...They are calling for 1 ft of snow tonight. So glad Mary and Cathy came yesterday instead of today. The roads were all iced over on my way home from work and traffic was backed up everywhere moving at a snail's pace. Cathy, I hope you made it home all right and weren't delayed at any airports.

Wow, Debbie you are really doing good on your diet. I didn't realize how much you lost. Victoria, Thanks for telling us what a stone is. I have about 2 stone's to lose. Debbie, you have to tell me your secret.....lol

Victoria, Have fun visiting with your friends.

Kelly, I am so happy that things are going good for you and Dave....

    Amy, Big Day tomorrow.

Tracy, How was your trip to Houston?

Well, time for bed. Will check in again tomorrow.

    Love to all,
    Gail or is it Graycie-Gail.???

Belated happy birthday to two of my favorite ladies: Rosemarie and Ravdeb!!! Hope you spent your special days exactly the way you wanted to.

Laura, I heard about the icy snow storm in Illinois and Missouri. One of my dads (my student's father) had to fly back home to survey the damage in his basement! Hope you are doing okay over there.

The dining room pictures I saw during the Thanksgiving week looked fabulous! They looked like they came right out of a magazine! The square table in our box of a house was too small to hold our Thanksgiving feast, so we had to use part of my desk to hold the drinks and dessert. You ladies must all be independently wealthy to own such beautiful homes.

Anyway, I tried to read everything I missed, but just couldn't, so I hope there's no other birthdays that I missed. I'm not even sure if it's proper to say "Belated Thanksgiving Greetings!" So let me be the first to wish everyone a Happy, Happy Winter Holiday Season! This includes Kwaanza, Channukah and good old Christmas !!!

Cathy, Mary, Gail, great pictures, so nice to see you all. Kelly thank you for the info. - this is relevant to me, I will be on tamoxifen for at least two years and then the doctor will decide. One of the women I wrote about here who had a recurrence after 8 years was on tamoxifen and AI for 7 years, then one year later got a major new primary in the other breast. However, from what I understand, treatment does not continue more than 7 years - is that correct?

Ravdeb, wonderful pictures - sounds like you had a great weekend.

I am going back to New York for a week, so I wont be able to catch up here until my return - I don't use the computer there very much, it is in my son-in-law's office and I am too busy when I am there. This is the 9th time I am going to New York in a year - friends think I am crazy, but I just feel that I want to be there to help, and at this point in my life this is what is most important to me.

Kelly, good luck in your relationship - he sounds kind and sincere. I have always felt that kindness is such an important quality in a person.

Amy, happy 30th birthday - my daughter turned 30 in July, and had her 10th anniversary as well! Wishing you happiness and good health. Very often, religious Jewish kids get married young and have families young. I am not such a big fan of this, I think they miss out on having carefree years in their twenties.

Thanks Brenda for all the wishes to all of us :-)

We are not independently wealthy!!! Wish we were!!! We live for the moment, Israeli style :-)

Linda..we'll miss you but I bet you will have a wonderful visit! I wish that my mom would have been able to come so often when we were younger and our kids were little. We missed that moving to the other side of the world and I have often wished there was a better way... your kids are very lucky that you can go and be there so often. It's the companionship I missed more than my mom helping out.

    Gotta run.

Tracy... so..you are feeling titty-ish! LOL. Hope the colors blend and the spots appear and you are happy with all of your new improvements!

I also can't wait for us to all get together. It will be the party of the decade, century or whatever!!!

    Hi Girlfriends!!!!

Here I am checking in from Houston! We are having a wonderful time. Cindy lives in a small suburb of Houston called Alvin, TX. Not really much to do here except shopping which we are doing plenty of! Cindy is a Thrift Store Junkie - so tomorrow we will spend the whole day sifting thru the Thrift Stores for treasures!

Amy - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! I will be thinking of you today, Have fun!!!

Laura - I will be there with you as we all will through your surgery and recovery. I know it is a difficult decision, but I think you are doing the right thing. We love you!

Ravdeb - Beautiful Pictures! Glad you had a wonderful time and thanks for sharing your pics!

Cathy, Gail and Mary - your pics made me cry!! I love that we are slowly getting to meet each other! Any weekend in November is fine with me, but I get an extra day on the Veteran's day weekend (whenever that is...).

Tracy - you are beautiful! It is so nice to see your face! Thanks for sharing your beautiful furniture with us too!

Kelly - I am so happy for you! I have talked about my Dave alot with Cindy while I am here in Houston. She is my oldest (since high school) and dearest friend. She is beginning to understand what having him means to me and that is important to me. I like that you are taking it slow and it will all fall into place. You are beautiful and it sounds like he is finding that out!

I need to go get dressed and ready for more shopping! I will check in with you all later!

As my friend,Cindy would say: "I love your faces!"

We are all pretty quiet tonight - hope you're all having a wonderfully relaxing night!!

Mike's coworkers gave me a basket full of goodies last year after my surgery. Included was a gift certificate to Victoria's Secret. soooo, a year later (I hope it hasn't expired) I'm finally pulling it out! then I'll get back to my book...

    Lots of love, ladies!

    Hello my friends,

I had no computer for the last week. It was so full of junk so had it reformatted. Glad to be back, I missed you all.

But a week away, I have missed so much!

Happy Birthday to the birthday girls, Ravdeb and Amy. Amy the big 3. 0. !!!!Aren't you amazed that you are 30 already? Sounds like you had a pretty good celebration with your family. In laws can be tricky at times... Your desert pics are pretty hot Ravdeb, must have been nice to get away and be pampered.

Kelly, wow, chaperoned dating! Not for me thanks. Hey you still have a chaperone, her name is Teryn.LOL. I had a few BF before I met my second husband. but it is funny with my husband we did go slow. He fell in love in the first few weeks. I held back and really learned to like him first then several months later once he had not failed me in any way I was able to fall head over heels. Still tumbling along.

Tadah you really do look healthy and vibrant. I love your new, old piece. I have not bought anything new in my house except sofas and the odd piece. Most of my big stuff is from auctions or antique stores. The old stuff is just so solid and well made.

I am sooooooo jealous of your lunch Mary, Gail and Cathy.Looking forward to our visit next Autumn. Yhanks for the pics, you Rocked in triplicate.

Laura, I hope as your surgery approaches you will look at it as a positive step. It is really something to take away your fear and improve your chances of a healthy life. I am still thinking about it too. I am not as brave as you ,yet.

Debbie, your smile is contagious. Your new Avatar is wonderful. Taking a pic of your wedding pic was a great idea Rosemarie. Must do that too.

Michelle, my father was from Margaree too. Perhaps we are related.Too funny. The families we are related to are MacRae, Campbell, Rankin and MacLeod's. What was your Mom's maiden name? It is a small world.

Tracy , how was the weather in Texas. Bet it was better than here. We had 25cm(a foot) of snow last night. School was canceled and the traffic crawled all day. I got the trusty old snowblower started on the first pull. Love my Honda.

    Fists up!

MaryAnne, chaperoned dating was before! He came from that backround as well and we both realize that we don't want go back to churches we came from. Things are progressing nicely and we have plans for next Sunday, Christmas Eve and New Year's Eve. Last night he came over after my treatment with ice cream, cherries, strawberries and whipped cream (I already had chopped walnuts and choc. syrup) and Teryn was in heaven with her sundae. David is very kind to us. We are in-like with each other right now. It's all so fun to focus on life rather than surviving.

Tracy, hope you have all the fun you deserve in Texas!!

YUM, Kelly!!! That's the way to live!!

Paula..l'at,l'at..it's said all the time here... "slowly, slowly" or take your time, one step at a time, etc..that's what it means! Do you remember this one...y'hiye b'seder..means it will be okay. They say this all the time and sometimes this BUGS me because sometimes things are NOT going to be okay, if you know what I mean!!!!!

Next pic from my birthday weekend..the cake my dh had brought up to our room!!!

    Wish we had some snow.
Silly season has started. Sunday was climbing with cubs.
Monday was Cub carol concert, last night we went to Meadowhall ( or Meadowhell as Roger calls it) in Sheffield to do some late night shopping. I thought all American malls were going to be like this one but nerver actually saw anything as big - i hate it!
Tonight we have Christingle with guides. thursday i am in charge of pop and crisps ( the power!) at the junior disco on Thursday, then Friday we have cub decorations , followed by 4 coming to sleep over. Next week is even worse, with plays, concerts, etc thrown in. We even have to go dig a timecapsule up one Saturday. I do love Christmas!!

Graycie, i hope you have ditched the wig. I didnt recognise you in the photos - you look younger without it! The photos were great. Will have to find a way of super imposing myself into some of them!!

And you must find a way to meet us all some time next year so that you will be in the pictures and we won't need to do computer trickery to put you in them!!!!

Maybe we should all meet in England???

How come I always see the new avatar's after everyone else......I still have the old one of Paula.......you look good in that one too

Debbie, awwwww you are so sweet....but younger, I doubt that.......ha....but thanks anyway. Actually I didn't think you could see my hair too good in the picture because of the dark background.

Michelle and Maryanne. My Mom was from Canada and I remember some Campbell's. Is that a common name there? Who know's maybe I am related too.......lol........Actually I also am part English so Debbie maybe I am related to you. Michelle I don't know if I told you how much I like your wedding picture. You were a blond.....you looked very pretty...How did you take the picture without getting a glare? I tried taking a picture of my wedding picture and I turned off the flash but it still has a glare.

Ravdeb, the cake looks scrumptious.......How cute it is....The hotel looks beautiful.

Rosemarie, Have fun with your cookie baking.

    Everyone enjoy their day......

Paula..great avatar! You look so cute!

maryanne... OMG! And I thought it was cold here!!LOL Finally put a warmer blanket on the bed. thought the hot flashes would do the trick but alas..that only lasts for the "flash"!

Gail... are you still out of the snow?

    Laura..are you shoveled out???

    Snow, snow, snow.
I miss it quite a lot.
I love when the snow flakes fall
Then nice, hot soup always hits the spot.

It always snowed on my birthday,
It's what I always would claim.
And if there were no snow flakes
Paper snow flakes would work just the same!

    Hi Ladies!!!

It is going to be 71 degrees today here in Alvin, TX!!! The rest of the week has been in the 60s and to these Texans, that is cold. They even have had a fire in the fireplace!

We decided to take a break from shopping today - we are both tired and running out of money. Cindy is a cancer survivor - she had cancer (they never really determined exactly what kind) 18 years ago!!! Her chemo was HORRIBLE and I really thought it was going to kill her. She has been fine ever since -- ANOTHER SURVIVOR!!!

Ravdeb - I love the pictures! I have been showing them all to Cindy, she thinks our little group of friends is very cool.

Debbie - you are a busy woman, it wears me out just to read what you are doing!

Kelly - I am so happy for you!!! I am missing my Dave A LOT!!! We talk on the phone each day, though. He is busy decorating his house. He has invited my Mom and my Son to his Christmas Eve dinner with his family, now that should be interesting.... I don't know his family very well yet, so I am going to be NERVOUS!

Our plan for the day is watching movies, wrapping and going thru Holiday Idea books--FUN!

    Love you all!

Glad you are enjoying the "warm" weather. That's funny because when it's in the 60's here I'm FREEZING!!!!! It has been getting into the 40's at night and I added another big quilt to my bed. Brrrrrrrrrrr (except when hot flashes strike!!!). (these temps used to be "Spring" for me before I moved to Israel!).

Hope you are taking pictures that you will post for us!!!

Here I am at the beach in Eilat..the Red Sea...
