Hi Everyone, I have been busy, my girlfriend is up from Florida so I haven't had much time to be obsessed with the computer.lol..... I have a lot of post's to read. Hopefully everyone is fine and had a good weekend.
Rosemarie, I did notice you had your surgery and I am glad to hear you are doing well.
Laura, good luck with your decision with the new drugs. My sister-in-law has a Ford Explorer, Eddie Bauer edition. Those are really nice. Actually, it was part of her divorce settlement........That along with her 3,500 sq. ft. house. lol.......I like what you put on your license plate.
Maryanne, I like the picture. Glad you had a good time.
Ravdeb, it sounds like you had quite a week with all the medical emergencies. Glad your mammogram came out good, my daughter got her results too and everything is fine. Now we just have to wait for your daughter's results. Hopefully she get's good new's too. I am keeping my finger's crossed for her.
Kelly, I have to go for a bone density test too, I just keep forgetting to call for the appointment. They said I could have it done when I have my mammogram but that isn't until Dec. I think I want to go before then since I am post-menopausal and who know's what damage the chemo has done. I also don't take calcium supplements which I probably should do. That is great new's about your muga.
Tadah, I like the name of your car......
Amy, I would like your new address too.......
Well, once again it is time for me to go to bed.
Hug's to everyone.
Graycie -
Graycie, I did some reading on the world wide web and research shows your body can only absorb 500mg of calcium at a time. I was told I had to take 1500mg of calcium. So, according to research, you should space out your intake. I am using TUMS as my calcium. So, I lay out 6 of them and eat them at random times.
-
Love the photo Mary-Anne!
-
Mary..thanks for the tip on finding our thread. I never have a problem.. but..I AM totally a bimbo on the computer and just kinda make my way around in my own way LOL!!
Graycie..you look TERRIFIC in the pic you posted on Moving Beyond. Had to go see after Laura wrote about it! Glad your daughter is okay! YES!! We are waiting...should be another couple of weeks they said. Lots of waiting. But, I'm more optimistic now after I heard that many people have moles that bleed and they are NOTHING!!!
I, too, need a bone density test and should be taking calcium. I'll be checking into that soon. Am spacing out my doctor appointments so I don't get "overload".
Next appt... oncologist. Day after that..surgeon.
Then we will move on from there. But those aren't til mid Oct.
Laura..you got me curious about "rav" and what is coming in the mail...neat..snail mail!!! -
Today is Tracy's One-Year-Survivor celebration!
CONGRATULATIONS TRACY!!!!!
-
Spent the weekend in bed lots of fever ect... but this morning feel somewhat better so I'll go to work really need to save my time off for surgery next month--My son is doing better thanks for asking, He is going to work as assistant manager at a Sonic, surprisingly the money is pretty good with good insurance, and as a bonus he gets to eat free!! Anyway this job will give his body time to heal. Hope all had a great weekend, we actually had rain last night and look forward to cooler temps
-
Laura asked for it so here it is.....
This is me before
and here is me after BC. -
Kelly, I heard that too about the calcium. Tum's sound's like a good idea.
Tracy, CONGRATULATIONS!
Sherry, so sorry you were sick and glad you are feeling better today.......take care and don't overdue. -
Graycie, it would be easier to take one time release pill if they were available!! But, since I only thought I would have to take two Tums a day, I bought the most hugest bottle ever. So, my wallet says I am not throwing these away and taking a pill. haha.
But you know, they are chewable, they don't taste bad (I got the multi flavored ones) and I don't need to get a glass of water to swallow them whole. So, maybe it will be the way to go.
Btw....I love your photos, thanks for posting them in here so we can see you. You look beautiful in both pics.
----
Tracy, have fun --- 1 year is great, 2 years will be fantastic!! We're on our way! -
you look great, graycie
-
Victoria, thanks for the link. I saw also on that site the coQ10 which is supposed to be good for us girls on Herceptin.
Another thing about AI's ... I think we have to watch our cholesterol. I have never had a problem with it so what do we do to keep it down without having to take meds? -
Sherry...hope you are feeling better. Gotta get rid of that fever!
Glad to hear your son will be working!
Also nice to hear you had some rain. On my way home this afternoon, I heard on the radio there may be some rain in our area towards the end of the week!!! That is very exciting news. It will be our first rain since last Spring. I love the first rain!
Took a walk on the beach this afternoon. Love the salty air.... love the beach and have hardly been there this year. Hopefully I'll make a point of going more often now. I don't swim in the sea..just enjoy watching the waves and walking along the edge. -
Thanks all for the Congrats on my 1 year anniversary! I had totally forgotten about it today! I am having dinner with girlfriends tonight--so I think a glass of wine is in order **hic** :-)
What a difference a year makes!!!
Mary - I think you should name your car "Angel".
Sherry! Feel Better!
Graycie - you look great!
Victoria - anything you paint for us will be special!
Did you all know that when you download music, they only allow you to "burn" it so many times??? I had no idea! I guess it is different for each song depending upon the arrangement they have with the on-line music sites. My co-workers have given me some suggestions to get around it, making a CD has been a learning experience for me! It is looking and sounding good, though!
Last month I had business cards made with the pink ribbon, my name, email and phone # along with the bc.org, and I'M A SURVIVOR web addresses and my cancer support group info. A lady that I gave my card to at the Komen 3-Day walk has joined the I'M A SURVIVOR on-line group! My cards worked!!!! Maybe she is checking out bc.org too!!!
Hope you are all having a good Monday!

Well, a lot to catch up on. My car doesnt have a name but in the staff room at work it is known as the Yellow Peril and they have taken Rogers name for me ( patsy as in Patsy Pickle). The other day i got a message 'Patsy - move the YP as they are marking out the carpark'. Hmm.
We get a plate with the car which stays with the car, so no we cant have fancy ones either.
Well whats happening here.
My bone scan has come through - 4th Oct.
I have horrendous joint pain in my fingers - couldnt sharpen a pencil today. My GP has altered my meds so will see.
We went out for an Indian last night with my brother and sister and the other halves. It was fantastic ( especially sinve the restraunt was owned by the father of the child i work with so Ishmail kept bringing on the food ) I ate far more than was good for me. I also bought a new pair of shoes - fantastic wedges with embroidery and beading. Dastardly hard to walk in but really pretty ! I bought a pair of navy and silver high heels too which go with absolutely nothing i own but were really beautiful and calling my name!
Tums - are they the anti acid things?

10. a-5 b-2 c-1 d-3 e-4 f-6
NOW, take your total and find out which Movie Star you
are:
(10-17 points) You are MADONNA:
You are wild and crazy and you know it. You know how
to have fun, but you may take it to extremes. You know
what you are doing though, and are much in control of
your own life. People don't always see things your
way, but that doesn't mean that you should do away
with
your beliefs. Try to remember that your wild spirit
can lead to hurting yourself and others.
-------------------------------------------------------
(18-26 points) You are DORIS DAY:
You are fun, friendly, and popular! You are a real
crowd pleaser. You have probably been out on the town
your share of times, yet you come home with the values
that your mother taught you. Marriage and children are
very important to you, but only after you have fun.
Don't let the people you please influence you to
stray.
---------------------------------------------------------
(27-34 points) You are DEBBIE REYNOLDS:
You are cute, and everyone loves you. You are a best
friend that no one takes the chance of losing. You
never hurt feelings and seldom have your own feelings
hurt. Life is a breeze. You are witty, and calm most
of the time. Just keep clear of back stabbers, and you
are worry-free.
----------------------------------------------------------
(35-42 points) You are GRACE KELLY :
You are a lover. Romance, flowers, and wine are all
you need to enjoy yourself. You are serious about all
commitments and are a family person. You call your Mom
every Sunday, and never forget a Birthday. Don't let
your passion for romance get confused with the real
thing.
---------------------------------------------------------
(43-50 points) You are KATHERINE HEPBURN:
You are smart, a real thinker. Every situation is
approached with a plan. You are very healthy in mind
and body. You don't take crap from anyone. You have
only a couple of individuals that you consider "real
friends". You teach strong family values. Keep your
feet planted in them, but don't overlook a bad
situation when it does happen.
---------------------------------------------------------
(51-60 points) You are ELIZABETH TAYLOR:
Everyone is in awe of you. You know what you want and
how to get it. You have more friends than you know
what to do with. Your word is your bond. Everyone
knows when you say something it is money in the bank.
You attract the opposite sex. Your intelligence
overwhelms most. Your memory is the next thing to
photographic. Ever yone admires you because you are so
considerate and lovable. You know how to enjoy life
and treat people right. -
Tracy, I am also Grace Kelly
-
According to the quiz that's who I am. However, I have a passion for passion, not romance. When my relationship lose that special zing, I'm outta there!
-
Wouldn't that be funny if we were all Grace Kelly.....If that is so, there may be a link to our personality and BC....
-
I am Grace Kelly too!
-
Yet another Grace Kelly!
-
I'm Grace Kelly, too.
Where's our Prince?? -
Oh my!!! We might all be Grace Kelly!!!!! Graycie - you might be right!!! How funny!
-
Oh that is funny...so far all alike.....
-
me too!
-
Of course I would be different Katherine Hepburn here
-
guess what? i'm grace kelly
-
Nope, I'm Debbie Reynolds. But I was only one point away from being Grace Kelly. And while I think Debbie Reynolds is probably a good match for my personality, there are times when I turn into Katherine Hepburn. (Especially when people are trying to get me to buy extended warranties. Grrrr!)
BTW, we just bought a piece of junk pickup truck that has so many round rust spots on it, we call him/her/it "Spot." LOL -
Yup, Grace Kelly, but I was one point away from Katharine Hepburn.
-
Is this why we all get along so graciously?
-
I'm Grace Kelly...and right there smack in the middle! But is that really me??? hmmmmmmmmmmmmm
Debbie..sorry to hear about your terrible joint pain. I know how horrible it can be. I hope you get the right meds to take the edge off of the pain a bit.
Kisses to you all...
Grace Kelly
