CIW... Thank you for your encouragement. It seems there's all kinds of new treatments and meds out there, one of the reasons I try and keep up here. As many might know (I thought it was a joke) chemo brain is truly a real issue. My wife actually went to a 3 class group session on Chemo Brain and how to deal with it near…

Paulette...... Thank you for your kind words and prayers. I'm so happy that your neuropathy is doing so much better. My wife started retaining a lot of fluids around the 8-9 treatment. By the last (12th) treatment she was carrying a little over 60 lbs of excess fluids They had by that time started her on Lasix and edema…

Hi Palette....... I almost missed your post and question. As far as the cancer she seems to be clear as of her last tests (CAT Scan and Ultrasound). The neuopathy though is a whole other issue. The meds for that are having terrible side effects. She is seeing a neuologist who says her nerve damage is permanent and will…

Hi Vslush.... Thank you very much for your response and time. At least after reading my question some may have gotten a much needed smile or chuckle, ha. And yes like so many others it's been quite a journey. I always used to listen to commercials on TV and think to myself, "WOW the side effects of that medication are…

Hello to all here, I'm writing this with a question regarding my wife. She had written here some time ago when she was going through chemo (AC and Taxol, 2015-2016) and ended up with horrible neuropathy and edema. I keep an eye out here for information as her Neurologist said she has permanent nerve damage (the result of…

viktoryak.......Please don't get discouraged. I too seemed to go through my 12 taxols fine until the last 2-3 treatments when I started retaining fluids. When all was said and done I had retained over 60lbs of fluids. Went through every test imaginable, even with a vascular surgeon and it all pointed to my chemo. At the…

Follow up on Fluid Retention.. I am now 6 weeks post Taxol. My total fluid retention was 48lbs, some even while I had first started the lasix. When they first doubled my lasix from 40 mg to 80 mg the results were minimal. However the farther away I got from the last Taxol treatment the faster the FR started to diminish. I…

Birdie56.......Thank you so much for your positive response. Being new at this I don't want to over do it. Sounds like you getting ready for treatment similar to mine although I had Perjeta along with the Taxol and Herceptin. I wish you all the best and hope you do fine. Remember as I said mine seems to be an extreme…

I just looked back at my post a few minutes ago and wanted to apologize for being so long winded. I guess I got caught up in maybe to much detail for those few that might experience my problem. Again I apologize, I should have tried to shorten my post.

"Fluid Retention".............Update to my Feb 4, 2016 post. Hello to all. First thank you to those who responded to me especially since this seems to be somewhat of an uncommon problem, at least to the degree that I have. After many tests, ultrasounds, heart tests, vascular, blood, etc it was confirmed that my extensive…

Hi, I just found this site and forum and this is my first post. If there is a way to search this topic please let me know. I don't mean to clutter everything up here. I am a stage 2 post lumpectomy, 63 year old. I had 8 weeks of AC chemo and recently (1/11/16) finished 12 weeks of taxol. I'm also getting herceptin and…
