I am in total awe of these pics. I want to go to Italy with Blue, Spain with Lisa, Alaska with Otter (we can stop and see Deb), and New Hampshire with Val. And swim with the dolphins with Nicki.
Geez ... I'd be happy just to get back home to San Diego and see my grandbabies and hook up with SD Lunch Bunch!!
-
We can't have a "Wonders of the World" thread without mentioning Niagara Falls. I live a hop, skip and a jump away and visit them quite often.
-
hehehe Bren. I'm ready when you are. If I ever get my settlement, we'll be off and running.
-
Another nice thing to do in Chicago. Go on a beautiful boat ride on the Chicago River. Its glorious to see this town from this view.
Im loving this thread - as I feel like Im traveling around the world and using my imagination is fun.
Blue: The niagra falls are just beautiful. Another place I have always wanted to go, but never have been to. I can hear the water flowing and making beautiful sounds in my mind today. Im loving the pictures of Italy.
Bren: It is fun to travel around the world and see all of its beauty.A nice respite from the storms!
SoCal: Segovia is beautiful. What a wonderful place for a wedding.
Otter: Cool pictures of Alaska and the Golden Gait bridge. So many places we can go and just relax within its natural beauty.
Valerie: Lately, for some reason I have been able to just copy and paste my pictures. Loved the instructions you posted, and made me feel a little sad that we havent seen Peter for a while now.
This is an oldie, but one of my favorite songs.

Well - gosh darn. Husband is awake and making breakfast. Looks like I better go make the bed. Will be back later. I must find a new destination to spend this lovely Sunday at.

If you want to know your past - look into your present conditions. If you want to know your future - look into your present actions.

Ok, I see a lot of old friends on this thread. I'll throw some pics in. Blue, your Italy pics - that is one of the places I'd like to see before I leave this world and seeing your pics just reinforces that. Here's one in Kona:
-
Nicki, Mavericks is in Half Moon Bay. I don't have Half Moon Bay but have a shot of Pacifica, just north of it. Here's another Kona pic
:
-
Ok, that one above is the Volcano National Park in Kona. How do you post two pics in one post?
Nicki, here's the view from the Pacifica Taco Bell. This is where we drive to (well, that was before $5 a gallon gas) when it's really hot in my town.
-
Hi Margo ... yep ... lots of old and new friends here, sharing travel pics and dreams of future travels, and memories of fun times.
I love Kona, we owned an acre of land in Hilo at one time!! Lost that in a divorce settlement. The Big Island is so beautiful. Best fresh fish I've eaten was in Kona!! The Black Sand Beach we used to love so much is under lava now. Keep the pic's coming ... love the memories!!
Blue - The Niagra Falls are beautiful, and if I can get to Pinkstock this year, hopefully I will get to see them.
Nicki - The closest I've been to Chi-Town is O'Hare (for hours on end). Next time I'm through there, we are going to get together!!!
-
I just love Half Moon Bay...Two of my sons graduated from UC Santa Cruz and my DH would always go up for a couple of days there when we drove the boys up or back.,..There was a winery there that had the absolute best garlic mustard..I would buy it by the case..Obester...I think they are out of business now..
Blue, I need to check out that part of Italy...looks wonderful...
-

This isn't a wonder but wonderful place up in the mountains above Santa Fe NM

Blue, I finally found these of Italy
I took these with a very, very old digital camera
so are not very good, but you get the idea...
-
My magical mystery tour - combing through the wonders of the world - brought me to sunset in Hawaii. A perfect way to end a perfect day.
Our travels have just begun - there are so many wonders of the world to see.

Of course, we couldnt go on a mystery tour without this song.
-
So far we have Bren, Shokk, SoCal going to Italy. That should be a blast.
Socal, those look to be Florence and Venice. Northern Italy anyways. The south is very distinct. Was there about 30 years ago. The last time I went, I spent a week in Rome, which is not enough the way I like to explore. I have tons of pics, but no scanner so I am relying on memory and the internet.
Nicki, great songs. The mystery tour.....I'm ready willing and.......well two out of three ain't bad.
Margo, thank you for sharing. Restaurants by the beach are my favs.
Bren, I may be doing a drive-by at Pinkstock. I'm so close, I can make it a day trip. Will know for sure in a couple weeks.
-
Blue - please,please,please come to Pinkstock - we'll have a blast!!
By the way, count me in. We're going to Italy - woohoo!!!

Hey, just by coincidence our paper today had this photo in the travel section
It just happens to be where we stayed at Lake Como, or one of the places
it is right on a ferry landing and the food was wonderful
an Alberge...lets visit on our Italy trip
-
Welcome to Palmilla at Cabo
-
-
Woke up this morning and found the magical mystery tour took me to Tahiti. Just sitting on the beach watching the sunrise. Sitting here contemplating where I want to go next. Although I must admit, Italy sounds like fun. I would sure enjoy visiting where my parents were born. St. Nicholas is the patron saint of Bari - guess thats why I was names Nicki!
Miss: Your pictures of Pamilla at Cabo are beautiful. I insist you take me with you the next time you go there.
SoCal: Lake como? Such a pretty place. When we go to Italy I will be glad that Im with you and blue, as I cant speak a word of Italian - well I know the dirty words but that wouldnt get us far.
Blue: Now dont you go thinking a group of you are going to Italy without me! Just wont happen. Even if I have to hide myself in one of your pieces of luggage!
Shokk: If someone asked me to choose anyplace in the world to visit, it would be Italy #1, Africa #2, and Australia #3.
Bren: Volcanos, now they are true wonders of the world. I had heard of black sand beach and didnt know it was under lava now.
Margo: "Half Moon Bay" now that is a place I must visit. So good to see you BTW. That is one lovely view of Pacifica and sitting at a taco bell no less. Wow - one of these days you will find me knocking at your door. I bet you will bring back some terrific pictures from your trip to Hawaii!
Another oldie but goody!

Well, as reality sinks in - I must go hit the showers and get ready for work. As Im driving about I will be thinking about where the mystery bus will lead us to next. Have a wonderful day.

MissS - I want to go there - can you here me whining?????????????
Just beautiful.
Valerie
-
Miss S ... Cabo is gorgeous! Did you do any fishing while you were there???
-
Thanks guys,,, Cabo is indeed beautiful. I didn't fish, but there was lotsa fishing going on! The beaches are gorgeous and lots of shopping around. There are street festivals and much partying. You can also take a tour on a glass bottom boat to see the sea life. It's also fun just to vegetate and absorb the beauty.
I am thoroughly enjoying all these gorgeous pictures. Makes me want to take a vacation, for sure! Thanks so much for sharing!

Miss S, my mind is made up. My next trip is to Cabo. I just forwarded those pics to my SO and he is just as mezmerized as I am.
Nicki and Val, of course you're coming to Italy with us.
Yesterday I showed you pics of Niagara Falls. Well 15 minutes away is Niagara-On-The-Lake, the prettiest town in Ontario. Lots of history there.
Niagara-on-the-Lake, often called the loveliest town in Ontario, has a long and distinguished history. Site of the old Neutral Indian village of Onghiara, it was settled at the close of the American Revolution by Loyalists coming to Upper Canada, many of whom had been members of the much feared Butler's Rangers based during the American Revolution at Fort Niagara, then under British control.
-
Of course, you would stay here.
Maybe have a romantic picnic.
And of course, you would have to visit Trisha Romance's Art Gallery.
-
Ladies,
Thank you so much for this beautiful thread. I sit in my house and feel like I've been so many places. The photos are breathtaking. Please keep them coming.
Hugs and prayers,
Jackie

This is my dd, Sarah, and my son, Micah, in Florida at Downtown Disney from our last vacation. I know it's not as spectacular as Italy, but I'm trying to see if I can post some pictures here.
-
Yeah, I think I did it! Here is one from our resort:
-
Sean at his favorite place:
-
Bren, I'm going to be in Maui in September so I'll make sure I post some. When we went to Kona, we hadn't been there in about 15 years.
Blue, I'll have to see if I can find some pics of Burney Falls. They call it the 8th Wonder of the World. Ever see the movie Stand by Me where the kids are running across the train trestle and jump off? That was shot in the Burney Falls area.
SoCal, I think Obester is still operating, at least the building is there. I've never been there but I will look the next time I am there. Love that pic at Lake Como.
Shokk, how are you doing? Three days in SF isn't enough - that's a teaser!
Nicki, Australia is one of my favorite places. I would like to go back. You are always welcome at my house. That Taco Bell is supposed to be famouse - it looks like no Taco Bell you've seen. On that deck, there is a walkup window so people don't bring sand into the dining area.
Miss, that looks beautiful. My best friend is turning 50 in November so a few of the girls are taking a cruise and the port we stop in is Cabo, have never been there.
Sheri, where did you stay when at Disney? I'm trying to plan a trip to take grandkids there. However, one will now be entering middle school and his school is on a traditional calendar year and the other is still on year round school.
