Raye, what gorgeous curls!!! Did you say blonde? I always thought your hair was almost black judging from previous photos.
Hillary, I suggest you eliminate both products for a while and wait to see if the flaking/irritation goes away. Then, add one of the products back at a time into your routine and wait to see how your skin reacts. If the first one doesn't cause any problems, go on to the second one. These irritations can be very irritating . Funny me.

Raye your hair is adorable. I can't live without my hairbrush. It's ceramic with a very wide head especially designed for long hair. I brush it the second I get out of the shower (and a lot of people will say that's terrible for your hair, b/c you ruin the elasticity, and rip it out) but if I don't brush it while its still soaking wet with a little conditioner in it, then shake it out, it would be a frizzy disgusting mess.
For me, the key is brushing while really wet, then flipping over, shaking out the curls, then putting gel in and seperating the curls with my fingers. Then I try not to touch it at all, even when I flip over to diffuse it. The more you touch it, the frizzier it will be...

I never had chemo curls ... I have straight hair ... it has a bit more body but otherwise it's the same.

Tina - I didn't see your photo b/4 you removed it! Can you post it again? As for the nails...I have acrylics...they're great...they look very natural. It cost $35 to have them put on, and then every 2.5 weeks, I get a "fill" and that costs $15. The Viatnamese(sp) do mine...they are fast and very good at making them look natural.
Beth - Congrats on yet another stage of your reconstruction. Hope you're healed by now.

I have been looking at the green wig for a few minutes now and cannot seem to see the duck head bill either, but can kind of see an ENTIRE duck. Maybe I am not imaginative enough? It looks like a punk cut from the 80's, like lisa lisa cut in green. lol...

OMG, Raye, how luxurious those curls look! I know that you find it hard to style, but it's obviously worth it!
I know you're right about my "glow" because every day, I get crazier & crazier about this man. Last night, we talked for over an hour and, in the course of conversation, he said: "Marin, I know that you wear makeup, but I've been looking at you and noticing how natural and fresh you look." OK, how amazingly sweet is THAT (whether its true or not)???
Tina...My hair is very fine, but I do brush it alot and have gobs of long, blonde strands in the brushes. To clean them, I use one of those old-time black combs with the super close together teeth (like the ones they gave you when you were having your school pics taken) and just comb all the way up the shaft of the brush. That gets all of the hair out. Then, once a week, I fill my bathroom sink with hot water and a drop or two of shampoo and let the combs and brushes soak. then I rinse them well with more hot water and let them air dry on a clean towel.
Hillary...I use Neutrogena or Lumene liquid eye makeup remover and its almost moisturizing. Maybe if your stuff has something harsh in it, it could be the cause of your flaking. Otherwise, maybe you have an allergy to it?

Hey, Laura - while you're here. You never filled us in on the completion of your planned facial treatments with that new doctor. I know you had been so happy with the first two(?) and then the free chin thang was a disappointment - but if I remember correctly, you had signed up for a series of minor procedures over time. Do tell! What's worthwhile and what's useless?
Just in case I ever can get back to work and have any spare $$ for indulging on beauty stuff, ya know.

When I got my fipples tattooed last week, I treated myself to eyeliner too. I'm so happy about it. She also recommended RevitaLash which makes your eyelashes grow thicker and longer and was developed by a doctor whose wife had breast cancer and lost her eyelashes. Part of the proceeds goes to breast cancer research. My friend tried it after her chemo and said it really works.

the dry places on your eye lids: I get that occasionally and use over the counter cortisone cream --a little dab'el do ya.
Revitalash worked for me: took 4 mos. tho. I didn't have chemo, just short stubby lashes, even quit using mascara cause it wasn't worth it. Now I can even curl them. Not much thicker tho, just longer, with is fine.
I had my eyeliner done (very, very fine line) when I finished up some of the plastic surgery. Now I have tatto brows and lower lid liner. I never us mascara on the lower lids, it always gets in the wrinkles and looks awful, but I DO line with dark eye shadow and an angled brush.

Ya know...I never went back for my follow up visits! I had two procedures to remove fine lines and dark spots and was pretty happy with the results. Yeah...the chin was a disappointment. I got so busy with my new job, that I just didn't have the time. I want to go back though and have my chin injected with the filler, I think that will work really well. So many wrkinkles...so little time! LOL
I'd love to get permanent eyeliner...mine always ends up in the outer corner of my eye... : (

I LOVE the physicians formula eyeliner-- I found it in black, and Raye- I think you said you had a different color??? I only saw it in black, and I would love to find it in Blue or Purple.

Laura - Try looking at the wig until your eyes blur, like when someone is looking at one of those scambled dot pictures where Jesus is supposed to pop out if you stare at it long enough - maybe the duck will appear.
You must have been thinking of another Raye, Beth. lol. I did say I MUST get that eyeliner because I love eyeliner.
I was going to come on here earlier and brag that I haven't tanned (in a bed) since getting back from Florida in April, but then caved today at lunch and bought a 10-visit package for the "Star Bed" in which I laid for 10 minutes. ahhh.

Raye, yes, making buttons. On a learning curve, though. Sigh. If we don't go somewhere this afternoon, I think I will try more buttons with another brand of clay. Actually, it is really fun and you just don't notice time flying by.
The nice thing about being nearsighted is that you can just take off your glasses to see gorgeous images, don't have to squint.
I've been waiting for the Physician's Formula to go on sale at CVS, but the store is just not cooperating. Since I have to take my down comforters to the laundromat this week, and CVS is right next door, I will pop in and see at least if they have the eyeliner.
BTW, if you can get the Zoya Amminah polish, it is beautiful. It is fairly neutral off-white but it had an iridescent shimmer in just the right sunlight. I am such a sucker for iridescent (as opposed to frosted, although Zoya classifies this as frosted). http://www.artofbeauty.com/scrpt/scr.dll/Item?Item=2031&brand=2 Two of the other shades I bought are more of a traditional frost. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the Amminah.

I like the Physician's Formula eyeliner too. Doesn't irritate my eyes and stays on forever.

No, I use the one that looks like a pencil on one side sponge blender on the other - has a built-in sharpener in the cover. It does come in other colors besides black, but not sure which colors. I get it at Target - haven't been able to find it anywhere else.

Beth, I just went upstairs to look at the package. It's called a Talc-Free Minteral Wear Eyeliner Pencil. Safe for sensitive eyes and contact lens wearers. Model number 2753.

Beth - I just googled it. You can get it online at Walgreens.com in Dark Brown, Black, Ultra Black. You can also get a similar pencil for the brows in Brown-Beige at Target.com
