This came in an e mail...I thought you guys might get a chuckle out of it!
My fellow Americans:
As your future President I want to thank my supporters for your mindless support of me, despite my complete lack of any legislative achievement, Marxist policy agenda, my pastor's relations with Louis Farrakhan and Libyan dictator Moamar Quadafi, or my blatantly leftist voting record while I present myself as some sort of bi-partisan agent of change.
I also like how my supporters claim my youthful drug use and criminal behavior somehow qualifies me for the Presidency after eight years of claiming Bush's youthful drinking disqualifies him. Your hypocrisy is a beacon of hope shining over a sea of political posing.
I would also like to thank the Kennedy's for coming out in support of me. There's a lot of glamour behind the Kennedy name, even though JFK started the Vietnam War, his brother Robert illegally wiretapped Martin Luther King, Jr. and Teddy killed a female employee with whom he was having an extra marital affair and who was pregnant with his child. And I'm not going anywhere near the cousins, both literally and figuratively.
And I'd like to thank Oprah Winfrey for her support. Her love of meaningless empty platitudes will be the force that propels me to the White House.
Americans should vote for me, not because of my lack of experience or achievement, but because I make people feel good and can orate a prepared speech very well. Vote FOR me because I'm black, not AGAINST me because I'm black. Forget that I'm half white. Voting for me causes some white folk to feel relieved of their imagined, racist guilt.
I say things that sound meaningful, but don't really mean anything because Americans are tired of things having meaning. If things have meaning, then that means you have to think about them.
Americans are tired of thinking. It's time to shut down the brain, and open up the heart. So when you go to vote, remember, don't think, just do. And do it for me.
Thank You.
Barack Hussein Obama II
P.S. If you are wishing for hope and change, you better know what the salesman is selling.

Man has more money than Croesus and that is going to be trouble in many states like Texas congressionally----

From Politico
Obama's aim: 14 Bush states and local races
By: Ben Smith
June 25, 2008 10:38 AM EST
Barack Obama will focus his resources largely in 14 states George W. Bush won in 2004, his chief field operative said Tuesday, hoping to score upsets in places such as Virginia, Indiana and Georgia.
But winning the White House won’t be his only goal, deputy campaign manager Steve Hildebrand told Politico: In an unusual move, Obama’s campaign will also devote some resources to states it’s unlikely to win, with the goal of influencing specific local contests in places such as Texas and Wyoming.
“Texas is a great example where we might not be able to win the state, but we want to pay a lot of attention to it,” Hildebrand said. “It’s one of the most important redistricting opportunities in the country.”
Texas Democrats are five seats away in each chamber from control of the state Legislature, which will redraw congressional districts after the 2010 census.
In Wyoming, Democrat Gary Trauner, running for the state’s sole congressional seat, lost narrowly against an incumbent in 2006 and is now seeking an open seat.
“If we can register more Democrats, if we can increase the Democratic performance and turnout, maybe we can pick up a congressional seat,” Hildebrand said.
See also
Hildebrand’s plans underscore the unusual scope and ambition of Obama’s campaign, which can relatively cheaply extend its massive volunteer and technological resources into states which won’t necessarily produce electoral votes.
In Texas, for instance, Obama’s three dozen offices were overrun with volunteers during the primary; the campaign’s challenge is, in part, to find something useful to do with all that free labor. But, while Hildebrand said Obama is unlikely to pay for television advertising outside a core of about 15 states the candidate thinks he can win, he will spend some money on staff. Obama’s chief strategist, David Axelrod, reportedly told donors in Houston that he would send 15 staffers to Texas, and the campaign has committed to having some staff on the ground in all 50 states.
If Obama loses in November, the broad expenditures — and the specific ambition of extending Democratic control — may be seen as a distraction from the traditional, crucial battlegrounds like Ohio, leading John McCain’s campaign to dismiss Obama’s aspirations of broadening the playing field.
"It’s revealing that Barack Obama has now been forced to expand the states on his map because he’s so weak in traditional Democratic targets such as West Virginia, Arkansas, Tennessee and Florida, not to mention his ongoing problems in Pennsylvania and Ohio,” said McCain spokesman Brian Rogers.
But if Obama wins, he may have paved the path to a powerful Democratic majority. Obama has also sent out fundraising e-mails in the last week on behalf of the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.
A “new president alone isn't enough,” Obama wrote in a message sent to the DSCC’s e-mail list. “I've served long enough in the U.S. Senate to know that Washington must change, and I also know that big changes don't happen without big Senate majorities — and right now, Democrats occupy only 49 seats.”
“This November, we have a chance to create a Democratic Senate majority like we haven't seen in decades — but it won't happen on its own,” he wrote.
Hildebrand and Obama campaign manager David Plouffe have, in recent days, outlined the shape of the campaign. In an interview with Politico, Hildebrand said Obama would focus largely on 14 states George W. Bush won in 2004, plus one state Kerry won in 2004: New Hampshire, where Obama and Hillary Rodham Clinton stage their first joint event Friday.
“We’re going to have to play hard in New Hampshire — we completely recognize that,” Hildebrand said.
Hildebrand also said Obama would campaign in part of Nebraska, which distributes its electoral votes to the winner of each individual congressional district.
“We’re going to go in and play Nebraska 2, which is Omaha and surrounding [areas], in the hopes that we can pick up that one electoral vote,” he said.
A presentation by Plouffe to donors, and Obama’s own early advertising expenditures, add three more to that list of states to defend: Pennsylvania, Michigan and Wisconsin.
In an interview, Hildebrand listed states in order of the margin by which Bush carried them: The closest four — Iowa, New Mexico, Ohio, Nevada — he said, would see “a ton of attention.”
But he said Obama would campaign hard in 10 more states, with the candidate and his top surrogates spending time on the ground and his campaign spending money in the air. Those states are Colorado, Florida, Missouri, Virginia, North Carolina, Montana, North Dakota, Indiana, Georgia and Alaska.
Skeptics have questioned Obama’s chances in states ranging from Montana, where Obama’s support of gun control is unpopular, to those in the South, where racially polarized voting patterns could undermine his chances. Some have suggested his broader playing field is a kind of “head-fake,” a maneuver designed to force McCain to spend money and time on states Obama doesn’t really think he can win.
Hildebrand dismissed that suggestion.
“We’re going in to win those states,” he said. “We’re not going in to make McCain have to pay attention to them. We’re going in to win. The result of that is he’s going to have to pay serious attention to them where he otherwise might not have to.” -

The Greenest Show on Earth:
Democrats Gear Up for DenverFrom Organic Fanny Packs to 'Pure' Trash,
Party Planners Face Logistical NightmareBy STEPHANIE SIMON
June 25, 2008; Page A1DENVER -- As the Mile High City gears up to host a Democratic bash for 50,000, organizers are discovering the perils of trying to stage a political spectacle that's also politically correct.
Consider the fanny packs.
1
With biodegradable balloons and organic snacks, Denver Democrats hope to stage the "greenest convention" ever. See examples. The host committee for the Democratic National Convention wanted 15,000 fanny packs for volunteers. But they had to be made of organic cotton. By unionized labor. In the USA.
Official merchandiser Bob DeMasse scoured the country. His weary conclusion: "That just doesn't exist."
Ditto for the baseball caps. "We have a union cap or an organic cap," Mr. DeMasse says. "But we don't have a union-organic offering."
Much of the hand-wringing can be blamed on Denver's Democratic mayor, John Hickenlooper, who challenged his party and his city to "make this the greenest convention in the history of the planet."
Convention organizers hired the first-ever Director of Greening, longtime environmental activist Andrea Robinson. Her response to the mayor's challenge: "That terrifies me!"
After all, the last time Democrats met in Denver -- to nominate William Jennings Bryan in 1908 -- they dispatched horse-drawn wagons to bring snow from the Rocky Mountains to cool the meeting hall. Ms. Robinson suspected modern-day delegates would prefer air conditioning. So she quickly modified the mayor's goal: She'd supervise "the most sustainable political convention in modern American history."
MORENow, she must pull it off.
To test whether celebratory balloons advertised as biodegradable actually will decompose, Ms. Robinson buried samples in a steaming compost heap. She hired an Official Carbon Adviser, who will measure the greenhouse-gas emissions of every placard, every plane trip, every appetizer prepared and every coffee cup tossed. The Democrats hope to pay penance for those emissions by investing in renewable energy projects.
Perhaps Ms. Robinson's most audacious goal is to reuse, recycle or compost at least 85% of all waste generated during the convention.
The Trash Brigade
To police the four-day event Aug. 25-28, she's assembling (via paperless online signup) a trash brigade. Decked out in green shirts, 900 volunteers will hover at waste-disposal stations to make sure delegates put each scrap of trash in the proper bin. Lest a fork slip into the wrong container unnoticed, volunteers will paw through every bag before it is hauled away.
"That's the only way to make sure it's pure," Ms. Robinson says.
Republicans are pushing conservation, too, as they gear up for their convention in Minneapolis-St. Paul. Like the Democrats, they're cutting down on printing by doing as much work as possible by email; using recycled office furniture; and urging employees to walk or take public transportation to work. The Republicans also encourage vendors to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
But Matt Burns, a spokesman for the Republican convention, looks on with undisguised glee at some of the Democrats' efforts -- such as the "lean 'n' green" catering guidelines.
Among them: No fried food. And, on the theory that nutritious food is more vibrant, each meal should include "at least three of the following colors: red, green, yellow, blue/purple, and white." (Garnishes don't count.) At least 70% of ingredients should be organic or grown locally, to minimize emissions from fuel burned during transportation. "One would think," says Mr. Burns, "that the Democrats in Denver have bigger fish to bake -- they have ruled out frying already -- than mandating color-coordinated pretzel platters."
Democrats say the point is to build habits that will endure long after the convention. To that end, the city has staged "greening workshops" attended by hundreds of caterers, restaurant owners and hotel managers. "It's the new patriotism," Mayor Hickenlooper says.
Laura Hylton, general manager of Biscuits & Berries catering, agrees in principle. But she has been testing her recipes using local ingredients for weeks and still can't get the green peppercorn sauce right when she uses white Colorado wine. The state's high-altitude wine industry took off in the early 1990s and produces some award-winning labels, but Ms. Hylton says diplomatically, "It's a little...lacking. Our wineries out here aren't what you'd see in California or France."
Joanne Katz, who runs the Denver caterer Three Tomatoes, will take one for the green team by removing her fried goat-cheese won tons with chipotle pepper caramel sauce from the menu. But she questions whether some of the guidelines will have the desired earth-saving effects.
Compostable utensils, she says, are often shipped from Asia on fuel-guzzling cargo ships. As for the plates: "Is it better to drive across town to have china delivered to an event and then use hot water to wash it, or is it better to use petroleum-based disposables?" she asks.
The convention's greening gurus say they're doing the best they can with the most current information available.
Coors Conflict
But it's almost inevitable that principles, politics and profit will conflict. To wit: Coors Brewing Co., in Golden, Colo., will donate biofuel made from beer waste to power the convention's fleet of flex-fuel vehicles. A green star for the convention -- but it has rankled die-hard liberals, who boycotted Coors in the 1960s and '70s to protest hiring practices that they said discriminated against blacks, Latinos, women and gays. Heirs to the Coors fortune have long been active in conservative causes and Republican politics.
Convention officials say Coors is a good corporate citizen. And a Coors spokeswoman says the donation was a gesture of civic pride, not politics.
No matter, grumbles Anna Flynn, a longtime union member from Denver who objected to the donation. "Any way you put it, it's still Coors," she says.
Chris Lopez, a spokesman for the host committee, says that securing a diverse group of sponsors is as much about showcasing the regional economy as promoting sustainability. He added that Democrats are nudging sponsors to "think green" by participating in an eco-festival and cutting back on paper fliers stuffed into delegate goody bags.
Watching the greening frenzy from afar, Fred L. Smith Jr., president of the libertarian Washington think tank Competitive Enterprise Institute, suggested the Democrats could really shrink their footprint by staging a virtual-reality convention: "Just have everyone stay at home with their laptops, sitting in their pajamas, interacting through their avatars."
Ms. Robinson, the greening director, says big showy conventions are part of the American political tradition, and thus worth a few emissions here and there. Also, she hates to be a killjoy.
True, she did try (unsuccessfully) to get bottled water banned from the convention hall. But remember those balloons? She checked the compost heap last week -- and found them still intact. She has added more liquid to try to get them to degrade.
And if they don't? "The balloons will be there," she promises.
So will the fanny packs -- made in the USA of undyed, organic fabric. Mr. DeMasse vows to get a union shop to print the logo, but he says the ink will be petroleum based. Unless, that is, he decides to get the logo embroidered -- with biodegradable thread.

Many candidates have measured the Oval Office drapes prematurely. But Barack Obama is the first to redesign the presidential seal before the election. His seal featured an eagle emblazoned with his logo, and included a Latin version of his campaign slogan. This was an attempt by Sen. Obama to make himself appear more presidential. But most people saw in the seal something else – chutzpah – and he's stopped using it. Such arrogance – even self-centeredness – have featured often in the Obama campaign.AP The presumptive nominee's presumptive "presidential" seal. Consider his treatment of Jeremiah Wright. After Rev. Wright repeated his anti-American slurs at the National Press Club, Mr. Obama said their relationship was forever changed – but not because of what he'd said about America. Instead, Mr. Obama complained, "I don't think he showed much concern for me." Translation: Rev. Wright is an impediment to my ambitions. So, as it turns out, are some of Mr. Obama's previous pledges. For example, Mr. Obama has said he "strongly supported public financing" and pledged to take federal funds for the fall, thereby limiting his spending to roughly $84 million. Now convinced he can raise more than $84 million, he reversed course last week, ditching the federal money and its limits. But by discarding his earlier pledge so easily, he raises doubts about whether his word can be trusted. Last month he replied "anywhere, anytime" to John McCain's invitation to have joint town hall appearances. Last week he changed his mind. Fearing 10 impromptu town halls, Mr. Obama parried the invitation by offering two such events – one the night of July 4, when every ambulatory American is watching fireworks or munching hotdogs, and another in August. His spokesman then said, "Take it or leave it." So much for "anywhere, anytime."
AP My former White House colleague Yuval Levin pointed out that Mr. Obama, in his first national TV ad rolled out Friday, claims credit for having "extended health care for wounded troops," citing the 2008 defense authorization. That bill passed 91-3 – but Mr. Obama was one of only six senators who didn't show up to vote. This brazen claim underscores the candidate's thin résumé and, again, his chutzpah. Mr. Obama has now also played the race card, twice suggesting in recent weeks that Republicans will draw attention to the fact that he's black. Who is unaware of that? Americans overwhelmingly find it a hopeful, optimistic sign that the country could elect an African-American president. But they rightly want to know what kind of leader he might be. They may well reject as cynical any maneuver to discourage close examination of him by suggesting any criticism is racially motivated. The candidate's self-centeredness has been on display before. Having effectively sewed up the Democratic nomination, he could have agreed to seat the Florida and Michigan delegations (states Hillary Clinton had carried). While reducing his lead by 50 to 55 delegates, it would not have altered the outcome. But Mr. Obama supported cutting these battleground-state delegations in half. At a time when magnanimity was called for, the candidate decided he'd strut. Mr. Obama's alpha-male attitude was evident even as he stumbled towards and over the primary finish line. First, his campaign announced in May it was talking to Patti Solis Doyle after Sen. Clinton fired her as campaign manager. This served only to pour salt in the Clintons' wounds. Then, after the primaries ended June 3, Mr. Obama's campaign leaked word that Leon Panetta (a Clinton supporter who'd apparently angered the Clintons by persistent criticism of their performance) and Ms. Doyle would conduct its outreach to the Clinton camp. Ms. Doyle was named chief of staff to the as-yet-to-be-chosen vice presidential running mate. All this was pointless, but reveals a disposition certain to manifest itself in other ways. Mr. McCain will be helped if he uses Mr. Obama's actions to paint his opponent as someone driven by an all-powerful instinct to look out only for himself. In a contest over who is willing to put principle above personal ambition and self-interest, John McCain, a war hero and a former POW, wins hands down. That may not be the most important issue to voters in electing a president, but it's something they will rightly take into account. Mr. Rove is the former senior adviser and deputy chief of staff to President George W. Bush.

Susie ... your copy and past is making the forum too wide!

Take out Obama's picture that should fix it. Actually, on my machine it didn't widen the margins.

I don't have wide margins either. Hmm...strange.

Its's still all messed up ... I have to scroll over to the right to read the end of each sentence
then scroll back to the left to read the beginning of the next one.
I am pressing the "return" key mid point in each
sentence so it doesn't scroll off to the right.

Susie, can you fix your copy and paste posts? Remove that html type (for me, sometimes
its' a banner or a special font, so you have to take it out, retype the normal
font by hand. Or just edit out some of it but it's got the whole

This happened to me one time too. When I deleted the temporary internet files, it seemed to fix it.

As the price of oil keeps increasing:
Expanding Domestic Oil And Natural Gas Exploration And Production
John McCain Will Commit Our Country To Expanding Domestic Oil Exploration. The current federal moratorium on drilling in the Outer Continental Shelf stands in the way of energy exploration and production. John McCain believes it is time for the federal government to lift these restrictions and to put our own reserves to use. There is no easier or more direct way to prove to the world that we will no longer be subject to the whims of others than to expand our production capabilities. We have trillions of dollars worth of oil and gas reserves in the U.S. at a time we are exporting hundreds of billions of dollars a year overseas to buy energy. This is the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. We should keep more of our dollars here in the U.S., lessen our foreign dependency, increase our domestic supplies, and reduce our trade deficit - 41% of which is due to oil imports. John McCain proposes to cooperate with the states and the Department of Defense in the decisions to develop these resources.
John McCain Believes In Promoting And Expanding The Use Of Our Domestic Supplies Of Natural Gas. When people are hurting, and struggling to afford gasoline, food, and other necessities, common sense requires that we draw upon America's own vast reserves of oil and natural gas. Within the United States we have tremendous reserves of natural gas. The Outer Continental Shelf alone contains 77 trillion cubic feet of recoverable natural gas. It is time that we capitalize on these significant resources and build the infrastructure needed to transport this important component of electricity generation and transportation fuel around the country.////
I have now joined my local Republican's woman Club. I had to go shopping for a McCain shirt and button to wear on the fourth. So I thought I'd post his recent remarks about the largest transfer of wealth in the history of mankind. It took a mere mention of the words reduced production from Libya yesterday to ruin our stock market.

Roctobermom, my screen is just fine. Linda said she deleted her temporary files and it worked. My husband does that often. Perhaps try it and see if that's the problem.

Don't let anyone tell you that McCain is "flip-flopping" on this issue. He has enough sense to see how it's affecting everyday life from driving to food to EVERYTHING. Someone said when gasoline goes to $7 a gallon BO would "flip-flop" too.
I get so tired of the anti-drillers trying to explain what we SHOULD do. And then when asked, do you ever ride in a limo....YES...do you ever use a private jet....YES.... I am sick to death of them.
On Hannity he reported that our Global Warming "Guy," Gore used more energy in his home...and I can't remember the precentage compared to other individuals. I want to be SHOWN by example from the preachers on the environment!
I signed Newt's petition. It probably won't make a diffrence to the Congress. They don't listen to us. ARRGGHHHH!

This takes the cake. No if, and or buts about it. This is the height of stupidity:
http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20080629/pl_politico/11425
"Clark said that McCain lacked the executive experience necessary to be president, calling him "untested and untried" on CBS' "Face the Nation." And in saying so, he took a few swipes at McCain's military service."
If McCain has no executive experience, then what does that make Obama? Has Clark lost his mind? So a man with only 8 years in a State senate is more qualified to be President then McCain who has years and years as a Senator in congress. They are going totally bonkers out there. They'll say anything.
-
I think CBS is being run by a bunch of anarchists. I turned on 60 minutes last night and they were doing a story on how bad it is in Iraq for Christians. It got my attention because I had been reading about how much better things are going there. At the end of their segment, they fianlly stated that the story was a rerun. They will still rerun the bad storiies just to make the US and the republicans look bad, and they refuse to run any positive stories. It is so dishonest. Like I said, how in the world can McCain get elected when he is running agaisnt a biased press? And the dems keep screaming about talk radio and are trying to change the laws to shut it down. There is no integrity anywhere among these people. Free speech is fine, as long as it only t them. This is why I rarely watch network news anymore, and I am boycotting CBS entirely.
Also, BIll Cristol seems to now be backing the gov. of Alaska for VP over Jindal. This might be a great choice. Even though Alaska wont give him a lot of votes, she can address the drilling issue and she has accomplished so much, she may really appeal to the woman's vote. If he doesn't pick her, I am going to lobby for her to move to Ill. She ressurected the republican party in Alaska, maybe she can do the same for Illinois. That would be an even bigger challenge than VP!
-
Linda,
Last night I was watching a fox show, and the talk turned to Palin of Alaska. And they poo-pooed her with just a wave of a hand. The panel was all democrats. I wanted them to talk more about it, but that was the end of the show.
Which leaves me to believe she would be an excellent choice for V.P.. The dems were all making faces like McCain would be nuts to choose her, and that told me a lot. What are they afraid of? Though they did hint that if McCain did come out for drilling in ANWR that would probably secure the election for him. The democrats have backed themselves into a corner with their no drilling stance, and brother, could McCain ever capitalize on it if he chooses to, but he's blowing the chance away.
They call McCain a flip-flopper, have they heard the latest flip from Obama about when he'll take the troops out of Iraq? He's beginning to sound more and more like McCain on that issue. He just hasn't said yet he'll keep troops there to guard our embassy. We aren't getting out of Iraq any time soon no matter who gets in the White House.
-
Rosemary and Linda, I don't watch any news unless it comes from Fox...well, 90% of the time. I cannot STAND the bias on the other networks.
On Fox they were talking about why no news on Iraq. People get tired of hearing about the war...it's expensive to keep reporters on the ground...yada yada. Fox still has people there. The truth...good news is not newsworthy. I can guarantee you if some heavy duty violence started back in Iraq every news outlet would have people on the ground. DISGUSTING!
I didn't even listen to Obama's speech. I cannot, CANNOT stand to listen to that man. I don't like the way he speaks..the way he sorta ends his sentences sharply...I can't explain it. Oh, but I did hear just a snippet about how his grandfather (or whatever relative) would recite the Declaration of Independence. When he got to, all men are created equal, there was an applause or something..see how little I was listening. Anyway, I know it was insignificant to most people..they'd never notice, but if you can find it on YouTube later you'll hear that "pause." I'm going to see if it's on YouTube in the next couple of days if I have time. Maybe I'm just being "picky" inasmuch as I didn't really watch him make the speech.
Well, things should really start getting interesting.

I just received this in my email from my brother. I thought it was interesting. I checked Snopes.com and it's true.
Snopes said he told them he had made this speech in mid-June 2005.
"Yes, it is a speech I have gave and year and a half go in Washington, D.C. It was a 5 minute speech, and I am amazed and gratified it has received so much coverage.
Snopes said he passed along a "revised version" of his speech.
I have not read the revised version. I've got to get myself to bed. This was VERY interesting.

We know Dick Lamm as the former Governor of Colorado. In that context his thoughts are particularly poignant. Last week there was an immigration overpopulation conference in Washington , DC , filled to capacity by many of America's finest minds and leaders. A brilliant college professor by the name of Victor Hansen Davis talked about his latest book, 'Mexifornia,' explaining how immigration - both legal and illegal was destroying the entire state of California . He said it would march across the country until it destroyed all vestiges of The American Dream.
Moments later, former Colorado Governor Richard D. Lamm stood up and gave a stunning speech on how to destroy America . The audience sat spellbound as he described eight methods for the destruction of the United States . He said, 'If you believe that America is too smug, too self-satisfied, too rich, then let's destroy America. It is not that hard to do. No nation in history has survived the ravages of time. Arnold Toynbee observed that all great civilizations rise and fall and that 'An autopsy of history would show that all great nations commit suicide.''
'Here is how they do it,' Lamm said: 'First, to destroy America , turn America into a bilingual or multi-lingual and bicultural country.' History shows that no nation can survive the tension, conflict, and antagonism of two or more competing languages and cultures. It is a blessing for an individual to be bilingual; however, it is a curse for a society to be bilingual. The historical scholar, Seymour Lipset, put it this way: 'The histories of bilingual and bi-cultural societies that do not assimilate are histories of turmoil, tension, and tragedy.' Canada , Belgium , Malaysia , and Lebanon all face crises of national existence in which minorities press for autonomy, if not independence. Pakistan and Cyprus have divided. Nigeria suppressed an ethnic rebellion. France faces difficulties with Basques, Bretons, and Corsicans.'.
Lamm went on: Second, to destroy America , 'Invent multiculturalism' and encourage immigrants to maintain their culture. Make it an article of belief that all cultures are equal, that there are no cultural differences. Make it an article of faith that the Black and Hispanic dropout rates are due solely to prejudice and discrimination by the majority. Every other explanation is out of bounds.
Third, 'We could make the United States an 'Hispanic Quebec' without much effort. The key is to celebrate diversity rather than unity. As Benjamin Schwarz said in the Atlantic Monthly recently: 'The apparent success of our own multiethnic and multicultural experiment might have been achieved not by tolerance but by hegemony. Without the dominance that once dictated ethnocentricity and what it meant to be an American, we are left with only tolerance and pluralism to hold us together.' Lamm said, 'I would encourage all immigrants to keep their own language and culture. I would replace the melting pot metaphor with the salad bowl metaphor. It is important to ensure that we have various cultural subgroups living in America enforcing their differences rather than as Americans, emphasizing their similarities.'
'Fourth, I would make our fastest growing demographic group the least educated. I would add a second underclass, unassimilated, undereducated, and antagonistic to our population. I would have this second underclass have a 50% dropout rate from high school.'
'My fifth point for destroying America would be to get big foundations and business to give these efforts lots of money. I would invest in ethnic identity, and I would establish the cult of 'Victimology' I would get all minorities to think that their lack of success was the fault of the majority. I would start a grievance industry blaming all minority failure on the majority population.'
'My sixth plan for America's downfall would include dual citizenship, and promote divided loyalties I would celebrate diversity over unity. I would stress differences rather than similarities. Diverse people worldwide are mostly engaged in hating each other - that is, when they are not killing each other. A diverse, peaceful, or stable society is against most historical precedent. People undervalue the unity it takes to keep a nation together. Look at the ancient Greeks. The Greeks believed that they belonged to the same race; they possessed a common Language and literature; and they worshipped the same gods. All Greece took part in the Olympic games. A common enemy, Persia , threatened their liberty. Yet all these bonds were not strong enough to overcome two factors: local patriotism and geographical conditions that nurtured political divisions. Greece fell. 'E. Pluribus Unum' --From many, one. In that historical reality, if we put the emphasis on the 'pluribus' instead of the ' Unum,' we will balkanize America as surely as Kosovo.'
'Next to last, I would place all subjects off limits; make it taboo to talk about anything against the cult of 'diversity.' I would find a word similar to 'heretic' in the 16th century - that stopped discussion and paralyzed thinking. Words like 'racist' or 'xenophobe' halt discussion and debate. Having made America a bilingual/bicultural country, having established multi-culturism, having the large foundations fund the doctrine of 'Victimology,' I would next make it impossible to enforce our immigration laws. I would develop a mantra: That because immigration has been good for America , it must always be good. I would make every individual immigrant symmetric and ignore the cumulative impact of millions of them.'In the last minute of his speech, Governor Lamm wiped his brow. Profound silence followed. Finally he said, 'Lastly, I would censor Victor Hanson Davis's book 'Mexifornia.' His book is dangerous. It exposes the plan to destroy America . If you feel America deserves to be destroyed, don't read that book.'
There was no applause. A chilling fear quietly rose like an ominous cloud above every attendee at the conference. Every American in that room knew that everything Lamm enumerated was proceeding methodically, quietly, darkly, yet pervasively across the United States today. Discussion is being suppressed. Over 100 languages are ripping the foundation of our educational system and national cohesiveness. Even barbaric cultures that practice female genital mutilation are growing as we celebrate 'diversity.' American jobs are vanishing into the Third World as corporations create a Third World in America - take note of California and other states - to date, ten million illegal aliens and growing fast. It is reminiscent of George Orwell's book '1984.' In that story, three slogans are engraved in the Ministry of Truth building: 'War is peace,' 'Freedom is slavery,' and 'Ignorance is strength.'
Governor Lamm walked back to his seat. It dawned on everyone at the conference that our nation and the future of this great democracy is deeply in trouble and worsening fast. If we don't get this immigration monster stopped within three years, it will rage like a California wildfire and destroy everything in its path especially The American Dream.

Shirley,
I watched his speech yesterday. I wanted to see if he'd denounce Wesley Clark for his remarks on Sunday. The part about his Grandfather reciting the Declaration of Independence, was a little much. I think that's when I left the room.
People will wake up to the immigration problem when they find out they can't get jobs because they don't speak spanish right here in the good ol USof A. It's happening now. 12% of the population is dictating to the other 88%. Do you think France would change their official language because enough of us decided to storm their gates and take up residence?

I know what you mean about BO's speech patterns. It sounds so unnatural, and much different than he use to speak. It is as if he is thinking so hard about his words so he won't say the wrong thing. He was trying so hard not to misspeak when citing the Declaration of Independence. Why doesn't he know it by heart? Didn't we all have to memorize it in 8th grade? My brain may be a bit fuzzy, but I can still recite most of it by heart. But then again, I went to school when it was common to learn patriotism. He was in some school in Africa so probably never heard of it.
It is maddening how his campaign is now trying to make him seem patriotic and revamp MO's image as a nice woman standing by her man. I still wish that more people had seen their interview with DIane Sawyer. It was amazing how she put him down on national TV and no one in the press noticed. I guess that is why they do puff interviews. If you can find it on Youtube, it is worth checking out. She basically tells him, that their daughters are getting a dog whether he likes it or not. If he holds no power over his own wife, how in world is that crackpot in Iran going to take him seriously.
Speaking of DIane Sawyer. She had Wesley CLark on today, explaing his critiism of McCain. She asked him if he wanted to apologize to McCain for what he said. He totally talked around an apology, first stating his own military experience, to note that he has more years in than McCain, then he said how he respects everyone in the military. And he made sure to mention that he was not speaking for BO. What a farce! He couln't even apologize for what he said. McCain spends 5 years as a POW and it is not enough! Obama never served anyone but Obama. He certainly is not serving the people of Illinois as our Senator, since he has spent the whole time campaigning for president.
One more thing on my morning rant: In relation to Gov. Lamm's speech, he left out France. As you know, I work with the French and they are really worried about losing their identity. First they have lost their rights as French citizens because of EU mandates, and because of the open borders, they have a 12% muslim population, and growing, that has no desire to become French. They are really scared, but as typical of the French, are not doing anything about it. They did elect Sarkozy because he vowed to change the socialist struture that makes France a mecca {no put intended) for immigrants. As I said before, if you want to be really scared, read "While Europe Slept". The whole world is quickly becoming a different place. But even though all the other great civilizations have fallen, they did not have heart that Americans have. I still have faith that people will wake up and smell the coffee. The thing that scares me more than having BO as president is having the democrats totally running everything. They have destroyed the state of Illinois, which use to be bipartisan. If they get control of the US, we will be taxed and socialized into oblivion.

I have to wonder about the dems. You send out a Clark, the week before our July 4th celebration, to offend a war hero? I'm still scratching my head over this. Then call McCain inexperienced to be in the highest office in the land. All that did was highlight for us Obama's lack of any experience to be in any office. I don't get this whole scenario? I think Clark blew his assignment.
Clark downplays McCain's suffering and says it wasn't during a war. Excuse me, I was alive and well during the 60's. They might not have called it a war, but tell that to all parents who lost their children during that WAR. Tell them the service and loss of life of their children was not at war time. And Obama can't stop the man from talking and talking about it either, what does that say about Obama's abilities to run our country? I'm still waiting for Obama to denounce Clark as he has had to denounce all the others he's ever known. And they keep on offending and offending.
