TGIF!! It's Friday. It's Friday. I just double checked my calendar to be certain -- didn't want to lead you astray, but I'm confident: It's Friday.
Now if we could just get this C to take a break on the weekend, a break from side effects and concerns and anxieties and and and.......
But since I can't wave that magic wand on your account, you'll just have to party anyhow.
"When there's absolutely nothing that's funny, laugh on credit."
This little bumper sticker thought got me thru some gray days.
sending you some delight for the day

it's a convention of debs!! must not be a card-carrying member to post here, but it helps. LOL!!
unfurling @ this retreat @ a state park on a lake..... our room has the greatest view. last night a little Bambi walked right under the window and was then passed by an opposum. (not the most attractive creature in the choir, eh?) all of this natureness made me think of you.
asking for progress from your treatment plan to be 'felt' by you, Deb.
hope that you're able to have a great weekend.
strength & courage. strength & courage. strength & courage.

good stormy morning from lightning bolt Ohio..... home of the Buckeyes and land of humidity. it must be summer? when did that happen? i swear we went straight from winter to summer this year. i completely missed springtime.
sending you happiness and encouragement to last the rest of the day. today is my return for a mamo and so my clarity is a bit cloudy. we do what we must do.
be brave my sweet northern friend. be brave.
i got a quote-for-the-day that said something like:
"Anger is preparation for courage."
Wish I would have saved it...... but anyhow, it made me think of you. Go ahead and use that anger as fuel for the courage you need to greet each new day.

Hey Northern wonder-one. I read on another thread that your scans are encouraging, exciting, dare I say thilling?
Congratulations on your bravery. Congratulations for your courage. Congratulations on this incredible news.
Thank you heavenly angels. Thank you. Thank you.
-
I have been saying a LOT of thank-yous today. I feel so greatful for my life the last few days.
There are so many Debs on these boards I am beginning to wonder if being named Deb is a cancer risk! LOL
My Mom thinks it is that the name was popular in the 60's and you know that just puts all us Debbies in that risky age group....
Hugs and prayers going right back at all of you
Deb C

Thank you. Thank you. And thank you some more.
I'll keep adding mine to yours -- just to be sure that every last angel involved in our supervision knows just how grateful we are for the mercy shown by your treatment plan.
Yesterday was my 6 mo mamo and I got a thumb's up & gold star. Another milestone for me.
So my thank you's are very personal.
Dear Creator in Heaven. Thank you for your mercy & compassion. Thank you for your healing hand at work in the midst of this disease being managed so masterfully by Deb's medical team. I ask that you continue to shower your unbridled love on our Deb and our many friends here.
What a celebration of heart for the encouraging news at hand. Thank you and thank you. Continue to bless my fellow Deb, as she is a beacon to so many. Allow her humor and wit to outshine any concerns or anxieties, lift those from her heart and dispell them with your grace.

I had wondered myself about the risk factor of the Deb name??? LOL
And thank you again.

It's a sunny Sunday morning here. Thinking of you. Wonder if you are able to worship with your church family this morning? I know you are always in prayer-mode in your own heart. It's been months now since I've been able to make church and I miss the music the most. If I squint my eyes I can almost imagine my life returning to it's former rhythms.
hugs, prayers, blessings and wishes for you as you start the new week.

My great northern Deb....... today starts with a storm. Perhaps it will blow the humidity out of the skies and we'll have a pleasant day.
Getting all excited about our tropical adventure next week in Aruba.
I will be praying for you as I walk the shores, listening to the waves, looking at the crystal waters and smelling the breeze in the trees. I wil pray for you and lift your name to the Creator who crafted such a paradise and ask politely for mercy and compassion for you Deb. I will ask for you to receive strength and courage for your walk for the week. Know that I'll be praying the old fashioned way & not plugging my laptop into the palm tree on this trip.
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
you're doing this..... showing us how...... giving us a role model
i'm so proud of your hard work at battling this demon.

DebC. I 'discovered' this picture last night and have posted it already in a couple of spots here on the boards, but wanted to be certain that you saw it as well.
When I first glimpsed the picture I was puzzled. Then I enlarged it and was amazed. I offer it here to you as "proof" that our Maker has an amazing sense of humor and is more creative than we could ever imagine.
A dancing tree!! A tree caught in the act of dancing!! Who could even dream up such a marvel? Not even Walt Disney himself could craft anything more amazing.
It just makes my heart lighter to see this image. I hope it gives you some of that same lightness, some additional hope, some new trust in all that you hold true.
I'll be sending you prayers from the tropics.... so expect a sudden warmth to engulf you.

-
Hey Faith- So, are you off to the warm beaches of the tropics soon?? I hope you have a great vacation. Thanks for all the prayers and beautiful photos. I love the tree
There is a town named Hope between my house and Anchorage where I got a lot of my treatment. I always smiled when I drove by.Deb- I am so glad you have a treatment plan in place!! Abraxane is one of the drugs I am on and it is working great for me. I hope it works as well for you
I know a gal that had the chemo directly into her spinal fluid. She was afraid of it, but afterwards said it was the easiest chemo she ever had....and it WORKED! You hang in there. This may be the treatment that works for you too. I will keep you in my prayers. You should ask at your church or you library and see if someone can loan you a copy of the bible on tape so you can listen to it instead of straining to read. Sending big hugs and heaps of prayers.Deb C

my northern star...... i have been to the equator, carrying prayers with your name on my lips. surely they live closer to our creator there -- because it is like the paradise you have imagined...... only when you pinch yourself, it's really actually there, right before your eyes.
know that i continue to bang on heaven's gate -- asking for mercy and strength for your journey, for your family and for your medical team.

Deb-Deb-Deb-a-do............ just starting this fresh, new day with thoughts of you. Hope that you're standing your ground and gathering awareness of your own strength. You're taking each new day for all that it's worth and showing all of us that we can rise to new heights when we're confronted with the unthinkable.
Find a smile today.................

hello deb c deb can you tell me about abraxane foes it make you nervous and cant lir in the bed because your legs felll like they have to be moving all the time if you hsve what did you do to help this is relly getting onmy nervers all i do is cry and i dont know why i know part of it is this place in my spinal fuid that is going to kill me within months deb i dont want to depend on someone else to bath me and all thatstuff i am so scared if you have any suggestions pkease hejp deb from ky
-
Hey Deb - I am going to post a reply here and also try and send you a PM....I'm not sure how to do it with the new format!
The Abraxane does give me the anxious legs. My doc has me take a 25mg benadryl if it really bugs me. It helps a LOT. The only bad thing is it makes me sleepy, so I only take it at night. Are you getting any steroids as pre-meds? I don't get them with this treatment, but I have had them in the past and they make me VERY anxious in fidigity. I had to take a small dose of valium when I was on those, or I couldn't sit still.
Has your doc talked to you about the type of chemo they put right into the spinal fluid? It sounds spooky, but I know 2 different ladies who have done it and it WORKED!!! They place a catheter in the spinal column (it sounds like it would hurt, but both ladies said it was only minor pain for a few days, and then it was fine) They infuse the chemo right into the spinal fluid and it kills cancer in the spinal area and in the fluid around the brain. I know the treatment has a big long official name, but I can't remember what it is!
I know you are in a really hard place right now. Please remember hon that God is right there with you. He loves you and wants you to be happy and well. I will continue to pray for you.....hang in there
Hugs
Deb C

Love and prayers to my sisters who are in such a hard place right now. May all the positive messages you send to others come back to you multifold. May you be surrounded by all the love in the world.

Happy Fourth of July my northern Deb.
We've had a lovely morning here and thought you'd want to cyber nuzzle these growing weeds:

I continue to keep you in my prayers continuously..... asking for your continued strength and courage as you progress thru treatment. Always wishing you the very best. What memories did you make today?
xx00xx00xx00xx00xx00xx00xx
-
Faith, they are SO cute! Maybe the rain we are getting here today is helping your weedlings to G-R-O-W so fast

We were going to have a picnic and badminton tourney this afternoon, but we may have to have an indoor Wii match to avoid the rain. either way, it should be fun.
A sincere thank-you for the prayers. On days I have a hard time praying it is a huge comfort to know that others are lifting me up.
Hugs
Deb C
