Dearest Slonedeb,
My, you've really had a rough couple of days! Very, very thankful you and your daughter are alive.
I read another post where you say you had a seizure, and next week they will do a spinal tap. I had one of those, and if they numb things up well, it's not really bad pain, deb. It's tolerable.
You can bet I will be praying for you this week, as trying as it may be. We'll circle round and hold your hand tight.
Keeping you close in my thoughts,
Tender -
know that i'm saying prayers for you tonight, slonedeb
prayers of courage & strength

Deb-
Hang in there hon. When your doc gets back and you get a plan in place, you will feel SOOOO much better! There are lots of tools to kill brain mets. I bet the doc will order more specific tests, maybe an MRI to find out exactly what is going on.
Lots of prayers coming your way.
Hugs

slonedeb: you've got some of the greatest minds working on your support story. so many are both knowledgable and compassionate -- caring for you with their experience, expertise and caring.
remember: "Knowledge is power." The more you understand about this latest news the better. We will be here for you whatever the developments. We're cheering you on. We're praying for you. We're here to support you through thick and thin.
You can do this, the unthinkable, because you must. You will get courage as it is needed. One step at a time. One step at a time. One step at a time.
Continue to come here with all of your fears and concerns and we will all contribute to holding you up, to the best of our ability.

slonedeb I realize how frightened you are of all of the upcoming parts of your continued journey. i'm praying for your courage to be recharged daily -- to contend with the issues at hand.
i believe that the end of your story is already held in the hands of the angels. they are wrapping your name in their hearts already. there is a place prepared for you. heaven awaits.
on the other hand: heaven can wait.
i pray that you can spend the energy that you have doing things that bring you pleasure, inspiration, and insight. i pray that you can find things to make you laugh. I pray that you trust our dear Creator to deliver you home -- when you are ready. I pray that your family rally in the midst of all of your fears to hold you up with their love and care. i pray that your days are filled with simple pleasures. warm muffins baking. a cup of hot tea. a spring breeze coming thru the windows, the song of a bird in the back yard. relish those gifts.
sending you baby snuggles.

I'm here, Slonedeb, with my own leg propped up on a heating pad, thinking of you. How is yours, btw? Has the swelling gone down some? Mine is hurting too, and a tad swollen around the ankle and on Monday I go to my cardiologist. So, I've been thinking a lot of you.
Yes, the Zometa, which truly does help can drive our calcium down especially the first few days after the IV infusion. So supplementing with any type of calcium at a good clip like you oncologist said is a must (did she remind you to break it up into 600 mg at a time, cause otherwise it overloads your kidneys' absorption capacity and spills wasted into the urine, so best to break it up: what a pain, eh)?
And, Zometa can also drop your phosphorus and your magnesium so did your doctor suggest at least some magnesium supplements (about 600 mg per day)?
I'm glad they got you in for your chemo; hope you going to feel some better again soon, deb.
Thanks for thinking and asking of me. I'm resting a tad more these days, which gives me time for prayer and meditation of heart and mind for peace for us all.
Fondly,
tender -
slonedeb: I'm on a "retreat" from our babbeez. I'm leading this get-away for child care providers, at one of our state parks. It's been a delightful diversion & I've enjoyed interacting with these women. They've certainly fed us well!!
since I tripped recently over an over-achievingly deep door mat and fell while carrying a heavy box of books -- my ankle has been gimpy..... certainly nothing like you've experienced, but it makes me realize how even a simple fall can wreck havoc on an otherwise healthy joint.
i'm sending both you & Tender some healing vibes from the ankle impaired lakeside hideout.
keep on keeping on, my friend. one day @ a time. I'm praying for your strength and mental health to hold up in the face of all of this.
take your calcium. take good care of yourself -- whenever possible. YOU are worth it!! Stick your tongue out at the beast, with your good self care.

Deb sory I have not posted in a while. Went on vacation well it had good times but some bumpy ones also. I should have stayed home. I also got sick on way back. Came down with bronchtious and still battling it. Also got chemo this week even though I was sick dr. said it would be okay. Easy for dr.s to say. I think of you often and sending up prayers for you. Put the devil to flight.... I love you and all our dear bc sisters. GOD BLESS....

kbug, welcome back to the slone circle. am always praying for our family here @ BCO.... will add your concerns to the list. i'm glad that you were able to travel, even if it proved more challenging than you realized.
i know that slonedeb is gonna be so glad to have you back -- with your strong, deep and abiding faith to lead us.
Tender chimes in with such practical and significant suggestions.... and so many others are praying for slonedeb on other threads.
It takes a village.
We're one special village.
Hey. Does that make us village people?
OK. Guess I'm getting a bit slap-happy from sleep deprivation.
Slonedeb: know that we all care for you and are praying for your strength in the face of everything you're up against.

Happy Sunday, Slonedeb and all.
At our house, a more quiet day, reflective, often nature filled and prayer day. I awoke to the sun, the towhees, a cool breeze, and thought of you, Deb and said my prayer.
I hope today you find comfort in peace, in drink and food, that you leg is less painful and swollen, and if you can, a few minutes outside should you wish.
Never think you are alone, Deb, because in truth, with all of your friends here, you are joyously surrounded in thoughts. I hope you feel this strength when you need it most.
Tender -
