Hey South Ladies.................do you think we need reservations at Noodles? I know nothing about the restaurant..........but meeting right at lunch time might be a challenge! If I know how many I can give them a call or I could pop in a bit early and try saving a table. Let me know what you think!

Just broke into my house & finally was able to find the itinery (such as it is) for Tues & Wed. Man was I shocked.
The program I remembered for families in the evening, is actually taking place on Tues at 4:00!!! They are serving pizza at 3:15????
I just go where I'm told.
But the only thing that it says for a location are the three letters: DTM. There are no addresses listed what-so-ever. Don't know if that's meaningful to anyone?? nEEsie. Does that location mean anything to you?
Maybe that's the worst time in the world....... certainly understand if it's an impossibility. Or maybe that's better -- cuz it would get you home sooner? I can call them from the road and find out more & will know more at lunch time.
nEEsie -- doubt that they take reservations, but getting there for a table might be awesome. lunch will be goofy, but can't wait.

Hi all. I cannot make the lunch today...but surely wish you all the best. Have a super great time. It does sound like the northern has fizzled out...I do look forward to seeing you all in the future. The race is coming up quickly. Do we need to do any more planning? How's the team looking?
So sorry to hear about Kay and I have been able to update myself on her dx. Just heard about another sister having mets...our dental hygienist. More and more they say its just another treatable disease (like diabetes or high blood pressure).
To those who are going thru treatment...hang in there...it will get better.
To your Noodles ladies...have an awesome time!
-
Wings has it right, Faith........Durant Turri Mott.........Used to be a great school for special needs...............the Area........well, let's just sayyyyyy.....it's changed............and I'm being nice!
Notme.....sorry you won't be able to join us......I'm not sure where you live..Nancy and I are half south and half northern so we're usually up to either!
Hugs,

Hi Guys
Chimming in from Milwaukee. Julie's due date was yesterday but no inkling yet!! Oh well, I'm here and ready to go when he/she decides to arrive.
Hope you guys have a great time today and I wish I could have joined you as well. Next time then. I'll let you know what grandbaby #4 is when it happens. Take care.
Hugs,

Hi all. Sorry I don't get here very often. Darn- I wish I had read more about today's meet. I was on the outskirts of Ann Arbor this morning at my Drs office. Guess that'll teach me to be absent from here. I would have loved seeing Faithanf fifty again.
I have a few more people signing up for the walk. I told them to go ahead and join our team. I hope that is ok ?
Also- packet pick up--is this done before race day? I would like to pick up their packets. Also, if packet volunteering is needed, I'm available in the mornings- let me know.
Where does Kay live? I would be happy to lend a hand if she's anywhere in my area.
Are we wearing our boppers again ?

I'm safely checked in up in Flint. Gorgous day.
Here are the gorgous girls who were able to meet for lunch. What an absolute joy and SURPRISE to have a grandma's baby shower amidst all of the nonstop chatter and friendship sharing. You took my breath away. I'm still pinching myself. What incredible women. Thanks to all who were able to arrange their world's around my travel. It was great to see everyone. Here's what we looked like:
From left: Sphynx/Nancy, SusieLoutoo, WingGirl/Bonnie, nEEsie/Denise and me faithandfifty/Debbie
Rocky'smom: I can't believe you were so close and didn't hear us laughing and come investigate! So sorry to have missed you. Take care.
-
Faith........glad to know you are tucked into your room safe and sound! Thanks for posting the pic, cuz mine aren't the best!
Yes, we had a grand time................and yes, Susie had to order my lunch for me...................no comments from me on this!!
Rocky'smom.......sorry you missed us.......where in MI do you live?
Hugs,
Denise aka nEEsie

Pat - Keep us posted about grandbaby #4!
Judy Rockysmom - Sorry you missed us. You know what we think about the walk and get-togethers, The more the merrier! I just signed up two people from work so that makes 31 so far. Irene and I have a tradition of going to the package pick up where we volunteer to pack the team's and others t-shirts. This year it is on the 17th and we'd love to have you join us if you can make it. If not, I'll try to find some meeting places to get them to you after the 22nd and before the race. If that doesn't work, there is always race morning when we meet up.
It was so nice to see you guys today!! I got back to work on time. Faith - thank you for your book. I had to show it off at work. Are you a quilter?
xxxooo
Nancy -
I posted all the pictures of the SURPRISE babies shower that these angels threw for me, over at the "Beach" thread. You just completely took my breath away friends. What an extreme act of thoughtfulness. If I think about it much more I'm gonna lose it big time. So let me just say thank you. Priceless!
I called my daughter and she's just so amazed at your kindness. I can't wait to share all of the goodies with her. I'll have to take pictures of her, now!
Nancy: thanks for sharing my book with your co-workers. Yes. I designed the illustrations and sewed the 'quilts' and had them digitally captured for the pictures.
It was just so goooooooooood to see everyone, and to meet you Susie!! So wish I could walk beside you at the end of the month.
-
Rockysmom - Shucks... wish you could of joined us for lunch. Happy you are walking w/ us.
Faith, Nancy, Nessie, Susie - So nice to see everyone again. Thanks for a fun lunch.

Faith, Thanks for sharing the picture. I'm so sorry I couldn't make it today. I just got back from San Diego late last night. My baby granddaughter (3 months) had RSV and was in the hospital. So emergency flight to San Diego a week ago when she got out so I could snuggle and give lots of love this week. She is doing better. Then I had so much to do today. I so much want to meet all of you. Where are the twins pictures posted? I haven't checked in for a bit, please provide update.
Anna Marie, how are you? Missed you at the support meeting.
Take care all. Linda

Message from Faith: Her presentation for today has been moved. She will be at the Flint Institute of Music 1025 E. Kearsley at 5:00pm today May 6.
Wings
-
Faith - did you make it home ok? How did the presentation go?
I keep thinking about Kay and how we can help her out. I am really a light weight when it comes to hauling hay and bossing around horses. My DH cannot do it either due to health problems. But, I was talking to a friend about this and she suggested we check into the local 4H club to see if we can get some kids out there to help her with the horses. She said it would be a win-win situation since the kids love any chance to get to see and care for horses and Kay would get some much needed help. Do you think this will work?
Nancy
-
Made it home. Presentation was VERY well received. Thanks for asking. It was just so good to see everyone. My parents arrive from FL in about an hour. Just wanted you to know that I made it back.
Happy Mother's day everyone.
-
Glad to see that you made it home safe, Faith and that all went well.
Nancy........my niece just emailed me and told me she signed two more up for the walk!
Kay...........I talked to Kay yesterday..she sounded good but at the same time kinda knocked down.
She said she will post but wanted to say thank you to the MI gals for the flowers she received.
(I know......not all knew about this.......but the flowers and message were from all of us!)
She does need some help around the farm.............Nancy..4H might be a good idea. Doesn't sound like she needs daily help.....just moving hay and oats every so often so she can feed the horses...........mowing the lawn and things like that. I also have 2 nephews in the area that I'm thinking of talking to.
She needs an extra set of hands to fix her fence.............depending on how she feels today after chemo..........maybe this weekend. She says it is not hard work or heavy work, it's just a 4 hand job and she only has two!! If I don't have to go to Sterling Heights Saturday, I might tackle it.........she obviously has never seen me in action!!
Just got home, so see you all later!

Hi, Michigan sisters. I wanted to bring you up to date. I discovered in later March that I have bone mets and a few liver spots. I went to my onc, and he offered me a clinical trial with Sutent. I've been taking it for a month, and it's kicking my backside. That's the bad news. The VERY GOOD news is that it's also kicking the backside of the cancer. I have a few skin mets going down my chest, and they're smaller already. I went back to see my onc last week, and he was very pleased. Next month when I go back (the terms of the clinical trial include a monthly visit to my onc) I get scans. He and I are really interested in how the scans come out.
Thank you, whoever of you contributed to the yellow mums. They are lovely, and helped to cheer me up on the anniversary of my DH death. I am gradually putting my life back in order. This has been a REEEEELY tough three years. Could we have a little boredom for a while now?
I will try to be better about checking in with the group from now on. I'm so disgusted with this board that I've not been here for a long time. It's just not home any more. But YOU guys are still here--that's what matters, isn't it?
-
Hi Kay,
As you can probably tell, we are all worried about you. It is really good news to hear that the chemo is doing its' stuff.
Yes, the boards have changed but this group always brings me back.
To the Wings of Hope Team - tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the team. For those who have been waffling about joining, please make the leap and join us now! We have 33 members with 8 survivors.
Can you give me a count as to how many are coming to Hockey Town?
xxxooo
Nancy
-
Hi to all!
All we have are 8 SURVIVORS????????????????? Didn't we have 19 last year?
I wish I could give you an answer about HockeyTown.................tried to get it out of my Wacky Group yesterday................same junk as last year......I'll try again and let you know!
Denise
-
Linda, fI keep forgetting when the support meetings are. Could you possibly call me to remind me. NO matter what they say chemo brain exists. I'm not under much stress, and I
m still not my old organized self.
I'm glad to hear that Kay's chemo is doing the correct thing.
Ann
-
Kay-
I was so sorry to hear about your recent diagnosis and the tough time chemo is giving you, it's encouraging to hear that it's working.
Hang in there, looks like your fellow Michiganders are there to help you in any way they can.
kats aka Mary

Good to hear from you, Mary! Wish you were able to make the walk with us this year!
Maybe one of our luncheons.........
Neesie
-
Wings of Hope Team - I am working on a sign for the walk. Even if we have more then one sign we will get noticed with our small group this year.
Nancy - I looked for dragons but no luck. Found butterflies instead - hope that's ok. Will post a picture soon.
Wings
-
Wings - are you kidding? I'm thrilled about the sign. Butterflies are more hopeful looking than the dragon anyway.
Kats - see how I fall apart without you here to get the team rolling? Wish you could join us.
Neesie - yes, we had much more last year and were almost the team with the most survivors.
Wings Team - I signed up one more person yesterday and one friend signed up as an individual by mistake. That brings the team officially to 34 with one not on the roster. We didn't get Rockysmom's latest friends on the roster but of course they can still sign-up as individuals and join us.
If the plan is Hockey Town again, I'll make reservations and just "wing it" (get it?) for the number.
I'll be seeing Irene this Saturday and anyone else who wants to join us at Binson's Educational Center in Sterling Heights.

Nancy

Here's my pretty in pink sign.
Does it look ok?
It will match our pink shirts. LOL
Wings
-
Wings, It looks great!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Thank you for making it for us!
Nancy............I'm going to send an email to my 'family' and see what they are planning for 'eats' after the walk...........................deja vu................same thing as last year!
This sounds wierd, but, if I don't have to go to a funeral Saturday I'll be able to come and 'help' you and Irene for a couple hours. I'm waiting to hear from a long time Client of mine's family. (Grammar!!)
Denise
-
Love the sign Wings!
If anyone wants to skip Hockey Town this year and head for Greek Town or some other place, give a yell.
Denise - hope it's not a funeral and you can join us.
-
Hey Nancy....................let me know where you guys will be Saturday.....It looks like a Funeral......but not all day..what time are you going to be there? And about how long will you be there? I've got your # so I can let you know for sure if I miss you here. I won't be on here much tomorrow, but I'll try and check in!
Don't skip Hockey Town cuz of my family..............I haven't heard back from any of them yet..but I didn't send the email out until last night....I know the Greek Restaurant my sisters are so gung ho about has closed........my niece said her MIL told her to go to 'Gary's Bar'..........whatever and where ever that is!
