Wow Liezel, what a difficult decision to have to make considering all the circumstances. You and DH will dig deep and come up with the right answer. Of course your son will be affected, too. For better or worse?
Leanne, Fifth boob surgery? Facing even more surgery? Partner away for 10 weeks at a time leaving you with 2 small children with issues. Putting on weight? No wonder you're moody and grumpy. Maybe it's menopausal or maybe it's human nature.
You'll conquer these hurdles as you've conquered so much already. Let me know when you come to NY!
Susan and Sandra, so great to see your beautiful faces. I hope we'll all be getting together one of these days. For the time being we'll just have to meet in cyber space.
Susan, if you're up for it...there's a bc.org New England get together next Saturday in Springfield MA. I'm planning on stopping by because I'm headed to MA next weekend for a meeting because I've volunteered to Crew for the Avon walk in Boston in May. You can get more info from the Get Together Forum.
I'll be staying in Arlington with my college roommate on Saturday night and going to the meeting in Canton from 12 to 4 on Sunday.
Hopeful, Marg, Tina, Maxine I'm thinking about you. Hope all is well.
Peggy -
Before this day ends I want to wish a very Happy Birthday to Barb (Hopeful).
Best wishes for Happiness and Good Health throughout the year!
Love,
Peggy -
Maxine,
today is the day for you.
Thinking about you and hope they find out how to help you!!!
Leanne,
good to see you again.
Wow to all the surgeries. That's a lot. Hopefully it will be the last one this time? Glad your son is a little better.
Sandra and Susan,
thanks for posting the pictures! You are lovely ladies!!! Glad you had fun.
Hopeful,
Happy belated Birthday.
Peggy,
you are one bussy woman, I read about your Avon walk!!! You go girl. I plan on attending the Susan Komen again this year (last year I could not face pink in any way, just afraid, I hope I will go through this year).
Hope everybody else is doing well? Not much new here, lets keep on trucking!
God Bless

Popping in to see if any news of our sisters .
Susan will recall my plans for my pre-wedding party (daughter) in London on 19 April - it is near now and I am getting really excited - I love organising stuff like this and as Susan said when we were making our meeting plans "it is good when a plan starts to come together" - hopefully I will have some piccies - if I can get them onto this board of course.
Have a good weekend all.

Just to let you know, I had a great weekend.
First I had the opportunity to meet another dozen bc.org particiants at a New England Get Together in Springfield Massachusetts. It was arranged by Lilia (NaughtyBy Nature) and she did a great job.
I spent the night with my college roommate (who I hadn't seen in 13 years!) and met her 10 year old daughter.
On Sunday I went to a crew meeting for the Avon walk Boston and found out a little more about what I'll be doing...whatever I can to fight against breast cancer.
Unfortunately I got the sad news tonight that a childhood friend, the daughter of my mother's best friend from HS, has died from breast cancer. I hadn't seen her in many years, but she gave me a lot of encouragement and advice by telephone and email when I was being treated. I didn't know that it had come back.
There will be a service for her on Friday in VA. Say a prayer for my friend, Barbara, another bc angel.
Be well,
Peggy -
Peggy,
I am so sorry for the loss of your friend. Very sad. Especially, since she gave you encouragement. I'll pray for Barbara.
Good for you to be able to spent time with an old friend and go to the gettogether. Sounds like so much fun.
Has anybody heard from Maxine yet? I am a bit worried...she is probably not up to check in here yet.
Hope so much all is well!!
God Bless

I just thought I'd let you all know that I've heard from Leanne recently and she's been having a tough time.
She's scheduled for surgery on Tues (hyst/ooph)2 day hospital stay, 6 weeks recovery, Scott is stationed 10 hours away and doesn't know if he'll be able to come home and her little boys are a handful.
Hang in there Leanne! I wish there was more that I could do halfway around the world, but send all the strength, encouragement and love I can muster. I'll be thinking about you on Tuesday.
Peggy -
Hi - I am also looking in to see if we have heard from Maxine. Hi Calico, How's things in general with you and family now?
Peg, I am so sorry to read your news, I can relate to how you are feeling (terrible). Of course I will say a prayer for your friend Barbara and her family. I lost my Auntie last November, she also gave me lots of encouragement during my treatment and I remember her saying to me when she visited me after surgery "look at me, I'm fine", at her funeral I just felt all eyes were on me - I didn't share this with you at the time as I didn't want to be negative. I had a depression after this, please don't let this happen to you Peg - look what I did - jacked job in etc.
I am glad you had a good get-together - I would really like to meet up with you and others - enjoyed meeting Susan (Hi Susan).
Liezel, Tina, how's things?
Speak soon - I am off up the wooden hill now (our saying here for going to bed).
I have a wedding on 19 May (daughter) - very small affair but in Cyprus which will be nice as we are going too.

Sandra,
Have you started packing for the special day [April 19th, right?] yet? Have a wonderful girls weekend in London. Hoping that the weather is perfect and you can drink champagne at the Ballerina Statue. Take pictures!

I am alive and have tons of things going,..... I will check in more after tomorrows Oncology checkup (and ct scan results).
I think of all of you often!
Tina
-
Maxine, were are you?
Hopefully all will happen, including champagne at the Ballerine statue - peermission of Police has been sought!! I am soooooooo excited. The weather forecast is not wonderful so may may have to tailor my plans somewhat, we'll see.
I have had 2 disturbed nights on the trot to I have resorted to a sleeping table and am now off up the wooden hill.
Speak soon.

My scans are still CLEAN! I have much news to report. Last week we did the booth at the Women's Chamber of Commerce- Money and Power Conference. It was just an IBC booth and we had lots of information we handed out. We also had clementine oranges to show the texture of your skin when you get IBC. The lady who put on the conference contracted IBC about 4 months ago. She put in a good plug for our table in the exibit hall so we had that many more come to the table. I have now been invited to speak in front of 40-50 woman at the Pampered Chef meeting this saturday. To top it off I am working with a lady to get some grant money to do breast cancer awareness in the local rural communities around where I live. She works full time and will probably be hiring me part time. I am very excited about the prospects of it all! The more and more I hear about people suffering and dying from this disease the more fired up I get.
I am starting to have less and less fatigue and if I can just drop a little weight I am sure I will feel much better. This is the heaviest I have been.
I will share pictures from our conference as soon as I get my hands on them!
I know some of you are going through rough times.... just remember.. it too shall pass.
We were all given a huge wakeup call and time to get closer to those we love. Yes we had to go through a lot of .... CRAP! ....but we also became stronger women for it. I am thankful everyday I was given this second chance at life. There are many who are cut down in their prime who are not able to give their final good bye's....
Treasure each day...

Tina,
good for you being so active in educating women. I think it's awesome. Happy to hear about clear scans.
I am worried about Maxine. Seriously.
I hope and pray that she is okay.
Leanne,
did you have your surgery? How are you?
All well on my side.
God Bless
-
Hi everybody
Peg, Happy belated birthday!! I hope you had a lovely day on Sunday. I did think of you - my pc was in for repairs ....
Tina, good to hear about your clear scans!!
Like everybody, I am also worried about Maxine. Hope we hear from her soon. Leanne, hope your surgery also went well.
I am well. Scans and follow up on 13 May, so I am already panicking. Before then we are going away on a golfing/spa weekend, which I am really looking forward to though! Relaxing before the stress of finding a vein and waiting for results....
Hope you are all well. Keep well!

Hi all,
It's been a while since I have posted but I have popped in and kept up to date with everyone.
I have been well, busy with the kids, work and our business. Winter is starting to creap in. It's been raining for almost 2 weeks now and we are all well and truly over it.
Things are looking good with our amusement ride business we have more bookings and am in the process of buying some laughing clowns to add to it.
hope you are all well
chat soon

The pampered chef party went off great. I was able to touch more lives! I love sharing with people and educating them about IBC. My daughter went with me and she was able to participate in the bingo. My daughter and I must have been lucky as we won several cool items each. It looks like this will be a yearly event that I will attend. May is the month where pampered chef has several products, when bought that month, a portion of the proceeds go to womans cancer research.
Everything else has been HECTIC!
Where is maxine? I wish someone had a phone number to call her.
Tina

Hi all - Tina, you are doing a grand job - very proud of you.
Hi again Nicole, so pleased to hear everything is going well with you.
I am going to PM Maxine - Peg, have you any ideas.
Hey Leanne - still in my thoughts - chin up through this difficult life.
I had a brilliant time in London - my meticulous planning paid off - all the ladies enjoyed the trip, so did my daughter when she stopped worrying what I may be up to.
Susan, I am doing well with shedding a few pounds - need to look OK for daughter's wedding don't I? (19 May in Cyprus).
Speak soon.

Congratulations Sandra on your successful weekend!
Tina, You're doing a great job spreading awareness about IBC. I've learned from you and have shared your story.
Nicole, your business sounds like it's so much fun. Rides and clowns. What a great way to make a living!
Don't panic Leizel things will be fine! Have a great golf/spa weekend and ENJOY YOUR BIRTHDAY!
Calico, I hope you're doing okay. How is your daughter? your mother?
Leanne, by this time your surgery is done and you're on the road to recovery. Heal fast!
Maxine, you can tell that we're all thinking about you. Let us know how you're doing.
Susan, I'll be back in Boston for the Avon walk on May 17th & 18th. I've decided to stay until Monday (5/19) because I don't feel like driving on Sunday, so if you're around for a cup of coffee on Monday, let me know.
Hopeful, Marg, Lynell and the rest of you September Sisters be well.
I'm off up the wooden hill. (What does that mean Sandra- the stairs to your bedroom?)
Peggy -
Yes, Peg, the wooden hill is the stairs :-) - don't you just love snuggling into a cosy bed?
Sandra xx

Hey ladies - particularly Tina - have you seen this posting in another thread? - it is from a lady needing reassurance as she is a stage III - the posting said (the years are talking survival years).........
My sister in law- 17 or 18 positive nodes, coming up on 11 years. My aunt's best friend, Stage III Inflammatory BC, at least 20 years now from dx.
On that note - I am now off up the wooden hill.

Does anyone know of an IBC doctor in and around NYC?
-
Hi everyone
All the tests are back, and all clear.
I saw my gp today, and he says the specialists wont do any more testing...they will wait and see, and maybe retest in a year.
Soo...now he is looking to get me on permanent dissability, as I have limited use of my hands, and can hardly write.
but...apart from that and the tiredness, im pretty good
Thanks to all of you for your concern
hugs to all
Maxine
