I am not sure if this is a direction any want to go, but I have a young friend in the Navy. He was due to go to Iraq last month but instead sent to Walter Reed with Leukemia. He is taking chemo now. He is 22 yr old.
-
I think any direction we go is fine...hugs are free...whether it be to a bc patient, a leukemia patient or a sad family member...its a hug that is much needed.
Will have one ready to go on Monday!!!
-
I agree. I sent you a PM Jacqui..........I made one (based on the prayer shawl pattern) for my daughter's friend battling bone cancer.

(I was embarrased to see that I wasn't on the last page when I added my comment - it looks quite glaring after the messages above. I thought it was near the last afghan photo....sorry if anyone read it and thought was being insensitive.)
Oh gosh, I love the photos of the afghans - everyone is SO talented!!! I'm sitting here oohing and aahing....
I splurged and got myself some wood knitting needles with the carved ends on them from paradisefibers.net so that I can knit in style! Each of the squares I've made has felt like a little piece o' my heart, so they deserved to be made on some snazzy needles! I took my mom to a local yarn store yesterday....lovely, lovely yarn....but I behaved myself and didn't buy any (YET!)

Hi Ladies -
Just wanted to show a picture of mine - not sure if it was ever posted. I just love it. I'm dying to know who did what square. Do you see yours??

Hi ladies,
I just wanted to say a big THANK YOU for the beautiful afghan I recieved in the mail today from Liz, Madison, Vickie and all the girls. It so touched me I cried. I wish I had the talents to knit or crouchet, but I'm useless in the crafty dept. I would love to donate to you HUGAGHANS project as I know there are costs for postage, boxes, and yarn, and really gals, this is one way I would feel I could give back to another sister friend. So, Liz, I'm sending you a check to further this mission of love and HUGS.
So grateful for your love, support, and HUGS ladies,
SIS(Sister In Survival) Kimberly
PS- PuppyFive-Thank you for being my angel!!!!

I had hoped to get this in the mail today but didn't. It will go out Monday.

Liz and Jan (and anyone else in the midwest) - I've been meaning to ask if you have been affected by the floods? I haven't seen the latest news about the flooding. I hope you are all out of the danger zone!
-
We had some flooding in the area but didn't get into to our house. I have a photo of the water nearly covering a barb wire fence about a mile from our house.
And here's a video of the flooding...

-
Jan, thank goodness none of the water got into your house. I watch the Oklahoma weather carefully because one of my daughters now lives in your state.
-
I will be mailing an afghan tomorrow. I couldn't get it finished in time for the noon postal deadline. I'll post a pic this evening.
-
Liz,
Gorgeous afghan!!
-
Livestrong, the pale blue garter stitch in the bottom row right side may be one of mine. I mostly do garter stitch, it's fast and easy. I love the mulicolor squares though, they really liven things up.
-
No flooding here....
jpann - Thank You!!!!!!! Wonderful squares as always.
Back to bordering for me.
Hugs

Wow...they just keep getting more colorful and more lovely!
Recent recipients: So glad you got one...warm thoughts to each of you.
Liz/Madison....I now go into the office 3 days a week...instead of working exclusively from home (promoted to management). Once I get the change down pat, I will be able to crochet again! It's quite an adjustment...my new schedule. I miss chrocheting! Will hopefully send some more squares soon!
You girls are doing a great job...
-
Ladies,
It's some much fun hearing who chrocheted each square!!!
Thank you all from the bottom of my heart.
Valerie
-
Laura, I've been wondering where you were. LOL Just kidding. I'm returning to work part-time as of Tuesday. All I can think about it how I'm going to work crocheting into my job description. Hahahaha....... I'll figure something out though. It's going to be short term work. They want me to return fulltime but I just can't commit to that!
Back to bordering.........
Hugs
