want to make You smile!
Puppy,

Casey, so sorry for your loss. Linda and her family will be in my prayers. This disease stinks and takes so many lives....
Carol: You look great! Am glad your surgery is over. I am still checking in with our Dec '06 chemo thread so I am keeping up with everyone pretty much eventhough I haven't been posting that often.
Happy Easter all.... trying to get back on the beam with walking...spring is here in the east so hopefully it will warm up soon....
-
Blue, Casey, Carol...was Linda someone in one of your chemo groups?
Well, it's Easter, but it's only 18 degrees out! Yow...after biking temps last week! Well, we're going to put on our Easter dresses over leggings and under winter coats!!!
Happy Easter everyone!

HI all, I didn't know LInda,I just hate the loss that this disease causes. Too many young lives.
Hey Blue - I check in there also but don't post a whole lot anymore. Seems like a lifetime ago doesn't it?
Puppy, You are constantly in my prayers as you are preparing for surgery. Happy Easter all. Carol -
Oops..will try again..
-
Hope everyone is enjoying the day...whether you celebrate Easter or not. DH & I are enjoying a quiet moment before the girls arrive. We're cooking a turkey (it's the only thing the girls will eat!!), but it smells just divine. Can't wait for the turkey soup to follow!!
Those girls are a handful!!! I need some tips on how to deal with really active crazy kids!!! This is how I felt by 4 pm yesterday..Miz
-
Puppy,
That picture was too funny.
and Mizsissy, yours ain't too bad either.
Happy Easter to all.
Linda was a woman in my community. I met her at work.
Blue,
Thank you very much for your prayers. She and her family had a strong Christian faith and I am sure it is a source of solace for them now.
-
Hope everyone had a good Easter. We had a wonderful time starting out with church today and had our closest friends over. We had an Easter egg hunt for the kids (there were 6 of them) and hid over 450 eggs...I'll probably be finding eggs for the next 6 months between the house and the yard!!!!
Casey - sorry to hear about the loss of your friend - cancer SUCKS!!! I'll send prayers for her family and send hugs your way.
Hope everyone has a good week - really need to work out next week due to the overeating I did today!!!!
Take care,
Cathy -
Puppy! How are you? Thanks for posting the pics. I love the Lab and bunny! Been thinking of you.
Cathy - I hear you. I bought some candy for my niece and nephew for their Easter baskets and made the mistake of opening the malted milk eggs and ended up eating about 1/2 of the bag.
Let's start anew this week.
Yes, this disease indeed sucks. and Mizsis, for the record, I definitely believe one should have a choice when it comes to treatment. Ok enough of that.
Thursday I go to the onc for my 6-month check. I dread it and feel like I shouldn't have to go - that I am fine now (knock on wood here). Maybe I am in denial. Does anyone else feel this way? I get all emotional as soon as I turn into the parking deck of the hospital.
Have a great week ladies.
Raye

oh puppy. ha. i just looked at the Lab again and see a bunny in his mouth! I thought it was a toy! I meant that I like the cartoon bunny. ha.

-
Our Easter was a blast...a blast of noise & commotion!!! Never had such a crazy dinner in my entire life!!! Little girls standing on chairs banging Grandma's spode with knives & forks!!! It got to everything but food-throwing.
Help!!! I don't understand today's kids!!!!
Miz
-
HAHAHAHAHA
Puppy
-
miz....hahahahaha!!!!! That was great! Have you recovered from the dinner yet? Raye: I sooooo get it about the malted milk balls....LOVE them!!! I ate a half bag of sugar free jelly beans....I threw the rest out because I was disgusted with myself......
Ok, back to reality today....no more sugar!!!!
-
OK, I've recovered from Easter dinner...NEVER AGAIN...but now, here comes the flu...
How is everybody???!!! Sick yet? Erik came home with a sore throat and feeling very sick....geez, my first day of feeling good after all these UTI problems. Have an art show I don't want to miss tomorrow night, so I called a couple of friends...they're both already sick. I suppose I'm next, ugh!!!
I had the flu vaccine, but from what I'm hearing, they kind of miscalculated this year!!

Actually, my avatar is my old avatar but that is really how I look now. I got my hair back and I'm not giving it up for anything... did ya know that some women actually lost their hair PERMANENTLY on taxotore?!!! I was not one thank GOD. There is a thread all about this on BC.ORG.Gonna go run now! That's one thing I still can DO!
Miz

Hey gals...it's gotten awfully quiet around here...do I hear an echo? What's happenin? You know, spring is here (well not quite in Michigan), and then it will be bikini weather!!!
DH & I were very much looking forward to a trip to DC to hear Habib Koite..a wonderful African musician..on one of his rare American tours. Bought our tickets, paid for the plane tickets and hotel via Travelocity, and dang, the concert was just cancelled!!! What a bummer!!! Well,we do love DC and we can visit the galleries, but I am so disappointed. We are trying to find out if tickets are available for any of this other concerts this tour.
Concert or no concert, April is going to be my month to get in shape and lose weight...I want to make every day count. So excited about getting outside and enjoying biking weather. But it keeps snowing...you know that wet slushy stuff that is mostly gone by the next morning...too wet to ski on.

Hi All! I've had little time to check in, but things are going well. Casey, I am so sorry about the loss of your friend. I HATE CANCER! Raye- I feel the same way about checkups. I get very emotional. On my last visit, I chatted in the waiting room with a pregnant woman with cancer and saw a very sick young mom in a wheelchair with her two kids holding her hands. I HATE CANCER! MizS and Puppy, I love your posts. Thanks for boosting our spirits! Carol- how is your recovery coming along?
It is just about bikini season down here. We'll be in Mexico in about 7 weeks, and I like to be about 5 pounds lighter than my current weight for the beach. Maybe I shouldn't have skipped yoga and the gym this week and maybe I shouldn't have eaten all that fried shrimp and crabcakes...Oh well, there's always next week! I have avoided the kids' Easter candy so far, but I can never turn down a girl scout cookie, and we still have two boxes of Thin Mints in the cabinet!
Hope you all have a great weekend.
Mary -
PUPPY! Very cute.
Mary - Mexico! How exciting. Where are you going? You will have a wonderful time. I am so jealous that you had crabcakes. my very favorite.
Have a wonderful Sunday evening everyone.

Hi Everyone,
I am feeling a whole lot better - had the foley removed on Friday! That was a drag - but I am tube and bag free now. I feel good - I am really anxious to get back to the gym but I will wait because I don't want to compromise any healing that might be going on. Just going to follow Doctors orders. Hopefully we get a taste of spring tis week - Tuesday is supposed to get to 61 degrees. Mary I am jealous of your weather. Where in Mexico are you going - we will be in Playa del Carmen at the end of June. I can't wait. Ray, Cathy, Mizzy, Puppy, Casey, Blue - hope you all are well, have a great week. Carol -
{{Carol}} Great news!!!!
OK, spring is here!!!!!! IT'S TIME
thinking of You All...
Puppy
-
Carol: So glad you are on the mend!!!! YAHOO!!!!!!
Puppy: Cute "kitty'cat pushups" ....you continue to be in my prayers....how are you feeling?
-
Carol...great to see you back & ready to work it OUT!!! So everything's working OK? Woohoo!!
Mary,..I actually wouldn't let myself be caught dead in a bikini!!!! You'd probably win the beauty contest here!
Puppy, Blue, nice to see y'all back.
Life isn't quite back to normal for me. DH & I both had flu over the weekend, and the bladder is calming down slowly, as long as I follow each and every one of my new rules to a T...Detrol, Estrace, no tea, no coffee, no chocolate, no excitement, arrrrrgggghh!!! Gonna see the gastroenterologist and the OB/GYN just to make sure every else is OK...

Thinking of You All......
Puppy

Gee Pups, I know that feeling...that weight keeps finding me too.
Had a pretty good day today, physically speaking..drove around, enjoyed the countryside, saw another doctor (more tests coming), then on the way to the art store, I got a ticket!!! I was turning left onto a three-lane one way street from a stop sign and the cop was across the street, turning right into the right-most lane and he cited me for not waiting for him to turn first (I wasn't blocking him in any way!!!)...I guess he had to meet his quota.
In the art store the ticket became an issue with several people discussing the legality of the ticket...some people thought I should fight it, but who wants to fight city hall. Reminded me of a story my father told me--which was really funny, because my Dad was probably the most law-abiding citizen I ever knew!!! Apparently he once punched a police officer in the face after getting a ticket for running a stop sign!!! Well, he was only about 17 and I think he's been drinking, and he spent the night in jail (these days they'd send you to Guatanemo Bay for doing something like that!!)
So I particularly liked this April Fool's joke...
\
Miz
-
Hi ladies.
Miz Sissy,
Sorry to read about the ticket.
I think you are right about fighting city hall. Sometimes it's best to chose your battles.
Carol,
Glad to see you are doing well. I can't imagine what you have been going through.
I spent the weekend in Lancaster Pa getting Physical Therapy religion. (IT WAS THE MOST AMAZING CLASS!!!) I have been a PT for 22 years and someone finally gave me the Holy Grail.
It all comes down to the thorax.
I also got to eat some amazing food.
My only complaint about Lancaster is that downtown rolls up the sidewalks at 5 pm. They have all these neat galleries and boutiques that I just have not had a chance to visit.
Mary,
Seven weeks.
Sounds like heaven is headed your way.
I'm headed to North Carolina for two weeks R&R on the 11th. It ain't Mexico but it is the beach....
Puppy and Miz,
I like al the little cartoons/clips.
Sweet dreams to all.
-
Casey,
Nice to hear from you...I had no idea there was a PT religion...but it kinda makes sense, you know, the mind-body connection.
I've been good about aerobics, but I've been finding it hard to get myself into the gym...you know, having to put on special clothes, go there, do it and come back, and all the time seeing how I don't like to look in the mirror. So I bought myself a pair of 8 pound dumbells (the 3 pound ones were getting to wimpy), and I leave them in the kitchen and find myself picking them up just for fun and enjoying the workout..you know, all the arm moves. I love the way my muscles feel afterward...alive & tingling. The only lower body exercise I can think of doing--without having to change my shoes or lie on the floor--are squats. Do you know of any exercises for torso and lower body that you can do standing up?
Hope you have a great time at the Outer Banks (Hatteras?)...that used to be our favorite vacation spot when I lived in Va.
Miz
-
hi ladies: Anyone here take yoga classes? I am going for my first class in the morning....I'm looking forward to it, but am sure I will look like a total dork....stay tuned......
Love Maureen
-
Blue...that sounds like a lotta fun. I've always wanted to take yoga. Thought you were here just to comment, not participate. We used to have a document that everybody updated, but it seems to have gone derelict.
Let us know how yoga class worked out!!!
I've got a really big month coming up with lots to do and not enough time to do it all so I probably won't be posting for quite a while...Tina, Carol, Raye, Casey, Blue, Mary, Puppy, Cathy, Dottie..all you wonderful gals...keep up the good work!!!
I am go to keep track of things in the Google weight chart and I'll be checking on you...
Blue, if you want to get on the chart, PM one of the girls your email and they'll send it to me & I'll get you logged in!!
Have a wonderful April!!!
XXXOOO Miz
