Glad to hear you have "girls" again Lisa--I know when my daughter got hers---she was not happy right away ---but is on her 3rd set of implants and it is good now---do you have that as an option---I'm not that familiar with all the stuff they can do--with muscles, implants, etc---So the 29th--Brenda will you be able to go---and if so you could drive to my house and I'll drive the rest if you'd like...and Liz--I took the "orders" and have been relaxing and doing "stuff" and today I'm cooking a roast --Steve does everything so it is not alot of work---but it is a BEAUTIFUL day!! Buffalo is getting a ton of snow!!!

Hello San Diego Sisters!
It's nice to know so many wonderful women live nearby! I live in La Mesa and work in La Jolla, so you can usually find me stuck in traffic on the 52!
Here's to everyone's good health!
-
AbbysMom-Welcome to the San Diego thread. Can you meet us for lunch this month? We meet every month for fun and conversation. This month is looks like it will be on March 29th at Fillippi's in Little Italy at 11:30. We would love for you to join us when you can.
Starfish-are you still taking charge of this luncheon? Is that the right date and time?
-
Hi AbbysMom - welcome.
Does Fillippi's take reservations? It's always so crowded. -
Oh wow, what good news for all our group! Slyvia, so happy, and sweet little Starfish, I have a terrible time flushing that dang anesthetic out of my system. Lots of water and time, I guess.
Well, as luck would have it, we are leaving on the 29th, spend the night at the airport (in a hotel, ha) because our flight to Ft. Lauderdale is at 6:20am, ARKKKK, that means we have to be there at 4:30am. Groan.
So, my dear precious sisters, keep looking at my picture, so you don't forget me. (It is 3 years old, I look a lot older, really)
Love to you all, and so glad for the good news. Shirlann
-
Can someone else take charge of the count? I am still pretty exhausted, and not entirely sure I will be there. Thanks!
-
I would but we are leaving for a while to visit Palm Desert for a week or so...I will be back before the luncheon...so if we keep a tally I could call it in when I get home..otherwise maybe someone else could do it
count me # 1 on the list
-
I will take care of it Starfish. You will feel better by then. You have to. We miss you.
Count me as #2.
If we can keep this type of count going it will make it easy to figure out how many will be there.
Who is #3?
-
Count me as #3!!! Wohoo---hope the SWELLING goes down by then!!!! Incisions are healing well but lots of fluid and bruising so they put me on keflex-------I love my ice bags...really looks funny under a swaeter ..!!!
-
Sorry--I really CAN spell---it is the proof-- reading that I don't do--BTW---I will need directions and or Brenda--I can drive --or with anyone else from North County--
-
I have the van. I can pick-up as many as want to ride with me. We can leave from Vista and go down the 5.
-
I lost count but I think I'm number 4.
-
Yep you are guitarGrl. Now who is number 5.
-
Look what we got in Bonita tonight...
-
Hi--Yesterday afternoon about 4:30 we got a fast blow thru of rain/hail and I took a pic (with my little cheapy throw away camera---we have a mini-putting green and it had icechunks all over it!!
Anyway---any knitters in our group--? I was telling a friend of mine (who is a social worker) that I was having a terrible time concentrating on sudoku a few weeks ago when my whole deal was in full swing and she said I should take up a mindless HOBBY!!! I used to knit when I was a kid and I've seen this really cool scarf, that looks like it is a loose knit or crochet, multi-colored,maybe beads in the yarn kind of a thing??? Anybody know about this? Thanks---S
-
I'll be #5. Looking forward to it ;-)
Since I'm in the midst of radiation, my husband took our 3 boys for a little mini-vacation. They started yesterday at Magic Mountain, and are just going to hang around LA for a couple of days - do Hollywood, La Brea Tar Pits, Venice Beach. I wish I was with them, but am enjoying some "me" time all the same.
Can't wait to see everyone!
Lisa #3
-
SoCal-I thought I heard hail on my window last night but I was so comfy I did not want to get up and look. Thanks for the visual.
Sylvia-Sorry I know nothing about knitting. Can't help you there. It sounds like you are feeling better.
Lisa#3-Have the rads got you tired. I did not have them but heard you feel really tired during them. I have missed several camping trips with my boys over the past 1 1/2 years. It is a bummer but it does feel nice not to have to worry about anyone else for a few days.
Starfish-How are you girl? Are things feeling better?
So 5 is the number now. We are looking for #6.
-
ME - I'll be #6!
Sylvia, I could knit when I was a child - my grandmother taught me. Have you thought of going to one of those specialty yarn stores to see if they have a refresher course? A friend of mine in Chicago did this and now she belongs to a knitters' group that she has a blast with.
Lisa#3 - enjoy your 'me' time. And if you just want grilled cheese for dinner followed by a piece of chocolate, you CAN!
SoCal - We had several blasts of hail here, too. One right at dusk that had the biggest stones, but off and on during the night. Made me glad my car was safely in the garage! Your pic is so cool!

Hi everyone again..
Sylvia..I have been knitting nonstop for about two years now..I used to knit all the time, but got out of it during the hot summers I guess...at any rate, I will talk with you at the luncheon about it if you would like..I wanted some no brainer knitting so I am doing that..
Lisa#3...it is great you are having some "me" time..you can certainly use it I am sure...don't you love the sound of silence!!?? You have sure been through alot of stuff...
BMD..did you sell any houses this weekend??
LisaSD..I just ran out and snapped the photo and ran back in...I got soaked!!
I leave Thursday and come back Monday...we will be in Palm Desert for the tennis..
Tuesday I have another liver ultrasound to see how the hypertension is in the portal vein and/or other things we don't want to see..I probably won't hear about it til I get back..I hope losing the pounds has helped some.
Starfish, how are you?? and you Guitar Girl? Melia...are you out there?
Shirlann, we will keep a seat warm for you!!
Who else will be there!!!???
-
Hi--Hey thanks Liz---we'll talk--I've looked on line and saw a yarn called squiggle---but the stuff I saw had bangles and beads in it---it is prob horrendously $$$$$ but I thought I'd start making some two/tone pink ones for our sisters just starting on their journey...hope your liver thing gets resolved---my brother went thru all that--shunts,etc and they do amazing things now...
Good idea Lisa--I am going to try to find one of those yarn shops--my oldest daughter told me about a shop called Black Sheep but it is in Encinitas--almost to Cardiff--which is no prob really but if I get into trouble--I'd like something closer--so I'm up for taking a class somewhere--
Lisa#3---do not remember the amt of weeks for rads for you but I had the 6 weeks and a "boost" and I sailed thru every week until about the last 10 sessions--and then I had to lay in bed one weekend with my arm up over my head--naked --to let the air get at the skin--I got some special cream-andrasina that really helped (pretty expensive but you can get here in Carlsbad--check on line ) but the skin was red and beginning to break down---anyway--I just marked off my calendar like a "shortimers" military thing and it was not bad at all-did have some fatigue towards the end--but I did not have young boys--worked thru the whole thing---but I DID NOT have chemoo-soo you need some ME time for sure....
How is the housing market Brenda---should I dig up a bushel basket of $$$ from my backyard and buy 1205 Columbus Way?? OK---so we are now 6--wohoo....Where is the gal from LaQuinto...?s
-
Hi All,
Sylvia, there is a nice yarn shop in San Marcos called Yarning for You. I took classes there, and they have a pretty extensive schedule of classes for all levels. I like the shop, but like many yarn stores, they can be pretty clique - like. It's worth checking out though. I do love Black Sheep, and there is another, tiny, well established one in Encinitas on 101 called Threads.
I am going to try to come to the luncheon; depends on several things. I am hopeful that it will work out. I feel pretty out of touch and would love to see all of you.

Closed an escrow today. Yeah! I wrote another offer yesterday but we are waiting for 1 item before I submit it. I also have a short sale offer that is finally seeing the light of day with a negotiator. So, yes I am busy and I am selling houses. Thank you all for asking.
Melia-We really do miss your smiling face at our lunches. You did start this little group after all.
-
I think I saw our very own Jodi in the North County Times today. There can't be 2 Jodi's that gave birth Zoeann in January. Wow! What a wonderful story.
-
Great story! Thanks for posting, BMD.

Hi,
Thought I would check in. We now have Robins here in Michigan and the snow is mostly gone. Yippee!!!
Thought I would share that Living Beyond Breast Cancer is hosting a teleconference next Wed, March 26, about pain. You have to register and I think their web site is www.lbbc.org
Liz, how do you manage to put pictures on here? I haven't been able to figure it out. Can you provide instructions?
Hope you are all doing well and wish I could join you. Maybe next time I visit. I'm really missing my little girls!
Prayers to all of you, Linda
-
Hi Linda...what I do...first you have to join something like photobucket, which is free...then you download your photos to that site ( I usually do the medium size)..then left click on direct link, then right click copy...then go to the little tree above here...and left click...then paste at the Image URL... click insert and then it comes up
I had my U/S of my liver today, but no report...the
tech wouldn't say, but she wasn't negative..sooooo
we wait.. Glad you have some robins Linda..when do
you think you will be back here again?
-
Ok. I know it's rude to smirk. But don't you guys also smirk when you hear about all these people living in climate-impaired places.
I guess it's good that not everybody wants to live here - would be way too crowded, but still ... (I'm at work and I'm bored)

I KNOW---my childhood friend--we started kindergarten together-lives in the same area that I came from--south of Buffalo,NY and she calls me the "B" word when I ask her how the weather is there...can you imagine!!!
My name on MSN messenger is "70 and sunny" cause that is what my son-in-law used to say to me B-4 we moved out "WEST" when I asked him how the weather was... that seems like forever ago---been here since 1999---and have become a weather wimp!! want to go on to NC Times and read the Jodi story...hugs,,,, see you ALL soon...S

-
Hi sweet sisters, I am so sorry to miss yet another luncheon. DANG! I still can't believe it. AND my toothpick won't work so I have to go bold.
Anyway, I will be thinking of all of you and I am going to nail my feet to the floor next month.
Love you all, Shirlann
