American Idol

Hope so Klynn! I hear Mariah Carey is judging tonight?? I don't recall if she's ever done Idol before.
-
Hi Idolholics (I like that name!)
Have you ever watched Fox News following the show? They always dish the dirt about the contestants. Any news is good news for the producers, since it creates a stir and grabs more viewers.
So last week they talked about David A's verbally abusive father, and something about David Cook not paying a recording studio in Seattle. And of course they said, "David Hernandez, the former stripper..."
I don't know why I watch Fox News. It's always the most sensational negative news stories!
-
So, did you guys vote??? I think David Archuleta, Syesha and Chikezie did really well. I'm disappointed with Brooke's performance :-< I really like her, but she looked awkward tonight. I'm guessing the country girl is leaving...we'll see!
-
Here's my thoughts:
Very tired of the same old Amanda songs sounding the same. ( I know everyone likes her, thats why this is fun,we all have different opinions)
Kristy was better than her usual self, but still I think she may be leaving this week.
David A. good tonight but not his best, he also needs to change up a bit now. Still really like him.
Michael I think did a Great job and the judges were not impressed at all.
Brooke did pretty good, but the judges again were not so crazy about her this week. She is still one of my favs.
David Cook I think did a Great job tonight, again judges not impressed.
Carly probably had the best night of everyone, she always seems to sing so effortlessly. Simon didn't like it at all. I think Simon must have been in a grumpy mood tonight.
Jason---How cute is he, I just love his young guy!!!!His song was not his best either but still very good. Michele ahhhhhhh
Syesha Looked unbelievable, so pretty, would love to see her belt one out. Judges liked her performance tonight. Go figure.
Chickezie kind of odd song, too mch country flair to it.Still in his corner though, would like to see him hang in there a few more weeks.
Ramiele same thing too countryish (if thats a word,) She too I think is in trouble tomorrow.
So now that I rambled on, Not my favorite night at all, and too much country under tones tonight, I don't get that with Beatle songs....
So who will it be Kristy or Ramielle to leave ?????
Talk to you all after tomorrows show.. Hugs KLynn
-
Well KLynn, I pretty much agree with what you wrote. I Loved David Cook, have been a fan of his since the beginning. I thought Syesha did a Great job also. Chickezie has a great voice and needs to show something different. I also thought Michael did a Great job and didn't get the judges not liking it. Jason is Very cute!!! I thought David A did a Great job also. It will be either Kristy or Ramielle to leave tomorrow. I'll guess Kristy.
-
I thought Simon really had a bad attitude tonight. More than usual. I usually agree with him, but he was very bitchy. He couldn't understand why Carly chose Blackbird, a song that I've always loved. He told Chikezie that I've Just Seen Her Face was a bad song, and he told Syesha that Yesterday was the song that Brooke should have chosen. (He seems to favor Brooke)
I still really like David A and Michael Johns, although he wasn't great this time. I think that Syesha and Jason have amazing smiles! Perfect teeth!

Because I have to get up early to light and heat the earth....

Believer0711: I agree Brooke was disappointing. I didn't care for her talking over Simon continually while he was trying to critique her either. I thought her little twirl thing was odd and she just May be a little full of herself.
SLH: I didn't like Simon telling Syesha that "Yesterday" is what Brooke should have done. I thought Syesha did a nice job on it.
I think that's the first time I saw (or noticed) Syesha's fabulous boobs. Anybody else wonder if that was a vote getting ploy? Boy am I cynical or what?
Also, Kristy telling Simon that she will blow him out of his socks!?! That pretty girl must know you cannot say the word "blow" to a male without his mind going to his member!
Badboob: that's just too freakin' funny!!!
Why did I think Mariah was judging? I read it on some knews thing. Maybe it was faux news...
-
Cristy Lee should've gone last week, but I really hope she's the one to go tonight. She's talented, but just isn't up to par with the others. If not her, I hope Amanda--I just can't stomach that "screaming" anymore--I wish she would try a different non-rocker kind of song so we could see how she does. Jason Castro is adorable, but he's not up to par with the other singers either. Simon didn't seem to have anything good to say for any of the contestants last night except David Archuleta, who was fantastic as always.
-
Angel-Mariah isn't until April-I think the first week. I saw that on E.
Haven't watched all of it yet-just got through the first 4 so far. Gotta go pick up my son at school!!!
David A. is so stinkin' cute. I'm glad he did better, but I wasn't amazed by his performance. I still want him to win!
-
In my opinion Beatles/Shemiddles! Enough, even Simon said something to the fact!
Simon, who I love for his honesty, was very bad last night. The judges ask, the kids deliver, and than damn if you do and damn if you don't... what the heck they wanted last night I would like to know?!
No one gave me the goose bumps but may be Archuleta, you know, my lost kid... even like that his type of singing is getting old.
The Aussie guy, Michael Johns, is like a faucet when the water gets shut off... we ask... when is it going to start running again?!?!?!
I missed Amanda...
Carly is absolutely awesome... she reminds me SO MUCH of Ann Wilson of Heart, love that band.
Brooke... it was more like... "There's no sunshine when she's gone...".
Jason Castro... love him but bring something else.
David Cook, I am enjoying this guy...
Eze... love him, like Huey and the Blow Fish type of singer... he would do well in rock....
Ramiele.... I guess she is just too young....
Syesha... nice dress, nice rendition but... her voice is forgettable.
Kristy Lee, she w/ do awesome as a country singer, the next Underwood...
Did I miss anyone?!?!
-
I think Syesha is in the wrong contest. She should be on America's Next Top Model. She's stunning!
Kristy Lee is genuinely naive. A pure, young, innocent farm girl who will forever be known for saying to Simon, "You know, I can blow you out of your socks." I think if it would have been Brooke stating that, Simon would have taken her up on the offer!
-
SLH: did you have a different alias before? I recognize your avatar picture but not your alias name.
I think Simon is more into the delicious dark velvety chocolate... something beautiful like Syesha... I have noticed his tendencies... LOL and can't blame him....
I forget to mention before that I don't have anyone picked to go home... what about you girls?
-
Lilia .. good call on Eze and being in rock ... I had thought the same thing! Liked your synopsis of the night!
SLH .. You're right, Syesha Is stunning! Is she the one who is also an actress?
Deb .. Thanks, I thought I heard that about Mariah, then I thought I was losing my mind again lol
It's hard to say, I think Kristy or Ramielle should go home but I think they both have huge fan bases. Kristy for her beauty and Ramielle for her cuteness I guess...???
-
I should be loyal to the Oregon girl, but she should have gone weeks ago. Sorry, Kristy. You're a sweetheart, but not a pop star.
I've always been SLH, but I just found the 'beyond cancer' topics a few weeks ago. I've been contributing to the surgery, reconstruction, etc topics. I was dx in March'05, but just got a computer about 6 months ago. Wish I would have had BC.Org from the beginning!
sally

my vote for who's going home tonight would be Ramiele ...

Hi everyone,
Kind of looks like we all agree on last nights show...Didn't "blow" away any of us..LOL.. Naughty I agree with you that Simon has a soft spot for beautiful dark skinned girls, over the last few years it has showed in the try-outs, he gets a certain kind of smirk on his face..Syehsa is very beautiful, and I also think she should be on Top Model. AWB I also agree with you on Amanda, would love to see her try something else, so tired of her screaming.
We all agree that Simon was a grumpy bear last night, Paula seemed a little glassy eyed again. Hugs KLynn
Angel--I hadn't heard about Mariah..That should be a great week, but I hope they don't try to sing her songs, that could be really ugly lol.
-
They should tell these kids from the get-go, *NO WHITNEY SONGS* NO STEVIE WONDER SONGS* NO MARIAH CAREY SONGS* NO CELINE SONGS*
It doesn't matter how well they do, they are never good enough to compare to the originals! Simon and Randy always come down on them for trying.
-
I agree...those are always 'suicide' songs for sure.
-
SLH---Christy Lee reminds me of Carrie Underwood because of the southern country girl connection; she's beautiful, but too bad she can't sing like Carrie! (I just read somewhere recently Carrie is singing at the Grand Ole Opry now). And David Archuleta kinda reminds me of my all time favorite AI, Clay Aiken, because he sings from the heart and is humble to the core.
-
Wow didn't see that coming this week --not yet at least!!!!!
so many others could have gone first,, although not one of my favs..
how could some of the others have stayed??? There was a clue in the
start of the show. Talk to you guys later....Hugs KLynn
-
lynn--I guess we can't say as people are still watching the show, but I'm very surprised it was her and not the other one to go home. What clue in the beginning of the show?
-
awb can't tell you yet..tell you later lol....
-
While we're waiting for everyone to see the results, this will jog your memory. Remember the first season? Simon was panting over
-
I haven't posted in this section b4. But I'm done with tx as of a few weeks and I've been watching AI.
I was really surprised Ramiele wasn't in the bottom 3 even. She's super cute but very karoake. I couldnt believe the irish chick was in the bottom 3 and simon said singing a song about a blackbird was dumb. wtf
I thought brooke did horrible, the dress and then she got real snappy while simon was criticizing her. It was kind of weird. Like a bit psycho. I did really like her version of that pat benatar song.
I'm so disappointed in the aussie cuz he looks the part but hasn't delivered a powerhouse performance.
I love chikeze. I love when he does those upbeat almost gospel songs. He can really nail those. But when he sings a ballad type its so boring.
I kind of liked that amanda chick but her voice is so scratchy and every song sounds the same. She seems like she'd be fun to hang out with at the bar though.
And I agree with that people don't grasp they should never sing whitney, mariah, stevie, janis, celine, etc.
Oh, and I love david cook.
-
I'm really shocked that Carly was in the bottom three ... and surprised that Amanda got sent home before Kristi and Ramiele ...
Klynn- what was the clue at the start of the show ???
Doreen
-
I kinda wanted Amanda to stay in the top 10 just because she's so different from the rest. It should have been Kristy cut. She's not as good as Carrie Underwood, more like Kelly Pickler.
Voting for who you like, rather than who you don't like, throws a curveball to some of the contestants. If people think "I don't have to vote for them, because they'll get enough votes anyway" has really had shocking results sometimes. I'll bet that's why Carly was in the bottom, although she's not really huggable.
But Chris Daughtry and Tamyra Gray were booted off too early. And even Kelly Clarkson was in the bottom 2 or 3 once.
I was a big Bo Bice fan. His acappella song was one of my all-time favorite performances, but then his CD wasn't great.

-
Amanda should have been voted the heck out of Dodge weeks ago. Variety is important; she had none and managed to make every song sound like one big screaming mess. I wish she would have gone weeks ago...
And for the record, Christina and Syesha are not considered "dark-skinned" by any stretch of the imagination. Remember, skin color is relative - to folks my complexion and darker, they are both what we call "fair-skinned." (I'm not trying to start a race debate here, folks - just trying to educate). Perhaps Simon "likes" them - if in fact he does - because they are both gorgeous as hell and they can sing their tails off...
-
Felicia, you're right.
My husband was in love with Christina too. He doesn't watch the show anymore because of Simon's mean critiques.
KLynn, tell us the clue you heard!
sally
-
Hey everyone,
Okay so it was just an observation on my part, but seemed like a clue to me. I had just metioned it to my husband and then sure enough Amanda was in the bottom 3 . When all 11 of them came out to sing in the beginning to do their song for touring, the guys were all together, and all the ladies except for Amanda who had her own part to sing. I'm thinking that she wasn't able to harmonize with the other ladies, and would have been awkward to harmonize with the guys, so then needing her own part. The guys sounded great together, and the ladies together, but Amanda again came out scratchy. I think they knew if going on tour there would be a problem fitting her into the songs. Well just my out take on that, maybe I read into it to much.
With that I still think Kristy should have gone home before Amanda. Ramielle looked totally surprised that she wasn't in the bottom 3. Carly being in the bottom 3 was just one of those fluke things I think, but like SLH said look what happened to Tamyra. Tamyra was let go way too early.
Lets hope next week they do better with their song choices.
Hugs KLynn
