American Idol

Anne, you and I can watch it at the same time. Just waiting for it. I honestly think David Archuleta is going to be hard to beat.
-
Okay1 We will be Idol Buddies!! By the way, on the Ellen show the other day, she gave Josiah over $8000 worth of musical gear. I am so happy for him. I just hope he moves back home and stays in touch with his mom. She has some type of terminal cancer (maybe breast cancer?).
Anne -
It's so hard to pick between the girls, but my favorite is still Remiele (litle philipino girl), then Syesha, then Asia, then Carly. I think Kady and Amanda will go this week.
-
oh--isn't Simon mean these last 2 nights? He seemed so much nicer this year during the auditions, but now he has gone back to his old ways--just really rude I think, the way he just blasts them when he doesn't like theirr performance.
-
He reminds me of Hugh Grant in the movie, American Dreamz. They did a great job in that movie of emulating Simon's "meaness factor." Still, I do have to say I agree with him most of the time, but he doesn't have to deliver the bad news in such a rude fashion!
-
Another west coaster ... I'll be idol buddies with you too!!!
I tivo'd last nights show and just finished watching it ... David Archuleta was amazing!!!! Chiquize was much much better than last week ... I didn't like him at all last week - I'll watch the ladies in a bit ....

Hi Doreen!!! Another Idol Buddy!! I really enjoyed the girls. Just finished watching it and I think for the most part, they were great. I won't give anything away, but I will say some were great and some were.....welll.......just watch. We can catch up later!
Enjoy, Anne -
I have been watching, but have not picked who I like best yet. Is it just me or do all the girls have impossible names??? And are there really 3 different Davids? Confusing!
-
I guess David is a popular name. LOL
-
As for the girls, what a disappointment! Hello... song choice!!!!!!!! Which part of that sentence they do not hear over and over again?! I missed the middle of the show, had to pick up my "NBA player" from her practice but here are my gut feelings as to who goes home (as for the boys, see my previous post):

Nos. 6 and 8! It is not because I don't think they can sing (actually I think they are different and the blond girl really has nice "pipes"); it is just b/c the jury keeps on telling them that "they are not quite there!"
Again, these are just my picks, no magic ball or websites w/ polls.
-
OMG, I didn't watch the shows yet (I was out of town), but I dvr'd them. However, as I logged into yahoo just now, did I see a glimpse that DAVID was canned?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!??!
Tell me it isn't so!!!!! I am ready to buy all his CD's. He is awesome. He better not have been bumped. I can't wait for my son to nap so I can watch. I didn't look at the article because I want to be surprised, but I NEED TO KNOW!!!! AAAHHH!!! -
NO....David Archuletta is still there.
-
Oh thank heavens!!!!!!!!!!
Daniel still is awake. He must go to bed NOW! Darn that potty-training..... -
WOW!!! I can't believe that rocker girl, Amanda, wasn't cut last night!!!! I guess it's safe to discuss this now?????? Don't want to spoil it for anyone who tivoed it! But I am really shocked at who went home! At least I am shocked that Alaina is gone. I really like pretty much all the remaining contestants but I just thought that there were several who aren't as strong vocally as Alaina. Sad..she was so devastated! I STILL think David Archuletta is the one to beat!
Anne -
Isn't he adorable. You just want to squeeze the stuffin out of him.

-
Ok, I watched it!!! Thanks for keeping it a secret!

I don't like the rocker chick. I think she is too stiff on stage and she is just comfortable when she is yelling rather than singing. I thought for sure she'd go home!
I adored Alaina! I thought she was sweet, and reminded me a bit of a young Carrie Underwood! I'm sad she left.
I thought maybe Asiah might have gotten sent home-her performance was sub-par compared to other songs she has done. I like her and felt bad she kinda blew that one.I wish the snotty rocker guy got sent home....what is his name? The one that mouthed off to Simon?
I cracked up at Paula's comment to David A. when she said she just wants to squeeze his head and dangle him from her rear-view mirror! So true!
So my vote still stands for David, and I think the girl who does the Brittney impression is pretty cool now (since she sings Opera! So cool!!!!!).
-
I agree with most of what you say, except for your comment about the "snotty rocker." I really like him!!!
I LOVED the way he mouthed off to Simon--he deserves some "comeuppance" in my opinion. I still have David A. as my top choice, too! Can't wait for Tuesday! -
lol, Anne!
I know, I shouldn't say he is a "snotty rocker guy," and while I do agree Simon needs some "comeuppance" without a doubt, I think the SRG (snottyrockerguy) is a little smug. I feel like he thinks he is better than the rest-I watch him in the "Dawg Pound" and he hardly claps along, stands up, or anything.Danny is a bit sassy, too, but he clearly has a soft heart (as shown by his tear-soaked face). How sweetly innocent was that?
I never mention the Phillipino girl, and I think she is great, too. She's got a voice and a half on her.
I can't wait for Tuesday, either! I hope that SRG does a good job, so I can take back the name I just gave him!!!!
-
I don't think David Cook meant anything disrespectful by what he said, (he was just pointing out that it was a good thing he had to impress the american people instead of simon, since simon didn't like his performance) but simon definitely took offense to it. I actually thought what simon said to him was more rude--told him he had no personality or charisma (on national tv--that's gotta be humiliating!). My favorite guys are still David Archuleta and Michael Johns (australian); favorite girls are Ramiele (philipino) and Syesha.
-
Yeah, I like Ramiele too! Michael Johns was my fav going into Tuesday, but I thought he did a horrible job on his song. Sure hope he gets it together Tuesday!!! Syesha is okay but not really original--still she can sing!! I do agree with band teacher that Danny is cute, but my oh my is that boy--you know--!!! Still--he makes me laugh and I love his little head tosses and sass! Do you guys watch that fashion show, Project Runway? Danny has been compared to the boy "Christian." I have never watched the show but I did check out You Tube videos and definitely see the resemblance.
Anne -
So out of four picks I had 2... no wonder I never win the lottery!
I keep on forgetting the time difference between my side of the land and the east side... SORRY. I w/ try my best not to give any secrets away, especially on "U R Going Home" night.
Is tonight the 80s (my decade) music? They all better bring it on!
Thanks,
-
ooops...wrong thread. :-O
-
They had a little blurb on E News this weekend about AI losing it's charm, since the contestants are so "polished" this year. They also showed pics of Clay and Kelly looking all disheveled and frumpy in the beginning, and talked about how it took the show to get them to superstardom looks.
I guess it's a bit of a debate all over! I like that they are so good, but they said that some people are saying the same things we are talking about-why do they need AI if they've had recording contracts before?
I think my bottom line is that I am addicted to the show, and will watch it regardless!!!! I hope hottie Michael Johns does well this week, and I can't wait to see David Archuletta.
-
I think David Cook felt really bad about his mouth off to Simon. They showed him saying so later in the show and he seemed sincere. I really don't like when contestants do that .. it just never looks good, whether Simon deserved it or not. I really like his music style though and I disagree with Simon about him (who I usually Agree with!). I hope he continues to do well in the show.
I hope Jason Castro does better this week with wowing the judges. He's Really talented in my opinion.
I just saw on the news today that David Hernandez is a former stripper who performed lap dances for the mostly male clientele for 3 years up until he made it on Idol. I bet this is going to get him a lot of attention!
David Archuletta is so cute and he did Imagine really well.
I like the Irish girl, Carly and the rocker nurse needs to step it up. I was Not happy that Alexandria went home already, she definitely should not have before others and others should have left before Alaina also. I Really like Syesha.
-
HAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!! I could totally see David Hernandez being a stripper!!!!!!!!!! OMG, that is the funniest thing ever!!!!
-
How's about that?!

Too funny... but I still love his voice.
-
OOOeeeyyy!!! Look at that bottom! Like someone carved it from a rock.
Oh dear, I've said too much.....

-
I was going to post the gossip I heard. Did you see the video with Danny Noriega? That was quite um interesting.
-
(read this in true gossipy voice....)....
Nooooo!!!!! What was it about?!?!?
-
Oh dear, I googled both of them, and now I think I will blush when I watch either one of them on TV now!
Good Gracious! David H. was in a picture wearing possibly the lowest cut jeans ever, with a bow tie around his neck. And the mouth on sweet Danny!
