i had no idea that someone contacted beths boss and all her posts were read by them! that is such an infringment on all of our privacy rights here on the board- SOMETHING has to be done by the moderators here to make sure that never happens again what protection do we have that someone wont make all our posts public ABSOLUTELY NONE!!! I for one will think twice before i go communicating any of my personal information here again
THIS is so sad for all of us here on the board and we should figure out what we can do about it going forward- this does not only affect beth but everyone one of us and i will be contacting the site to voice my opinion and concerns
-
go to moderator messages topic - i started a conversation about our security and privacy issues on this board anyone here who is upset about what happened to beth PLEASE post there so our voices wil be heard i say that the person who did this to beth violated everyone of our rights here to share our knowledge and experiences with each other!!!!!! and should be BANNED from continuing on this site by the moderators
I for one will make sure i do not post anything personal again until this is resoved

Beth,
I just found this thread--I'm so sorry you're leaving the boards and even more sorry to hear the reason. You're a true sister in our struggle to fight this horrible disease and you've touched so many of us who are trying make the most of our lives once we've had the dreaded diagnosis.
I'm still hoping to see you back here in some screen name or another!
Barbara

Beth - just found this thread. I don't understand the whole thing, but you are one of the most helpful and appreciated members of this group. A million thanks!

-
Beth,
I am appalled that the reason you are leaving is because of some one "ratting you out" to your bosses. Unfortunately, it is becoming clearer & clearer that this is no longer the safe haven it once was. I can't believe how evil some folks can be. I am very sorry to see you leave as I previously stated, but now I am also mad because of the reason.
Wishing you the best with your bright future

Beth:

Love ya,

Jdash-- this is the world of the internet. It's no surprise that all of this info is public knowledge.
I understand that, completely.
I guess, the thought of lurkers reading my posts never bothered me. B/c I've gotten so many letters and emails out of the blue over the last 3 years, from a lurker with BC, who was too private or shy to post, but loved reading what I had to say, it never botherd me a bit.
I guess even the thought of the occasional pervert trying to look at these boards for some sick disgusting kick never bothered me either.
I can't blame the people I work for after getting a "tip" or phone call about my conduct here, coming to check up on me.
I think we can all agree that who ever did it, is downright rotten, b/c anyone that knows me, knows that while I might have a bloated ego, and a zeal for life that sometimes can get annoying, I'm really a good girl, with a big heart, and I want to see my sisters feeling good at the end of the day.
However, at this time in my life, I have to put the needs of this company ahead of my own needs for personal support.
I'm having no luck getting my posts deleted, or getting the mods to write back to me, so I've started to delete the real "offensive" ones by myself.
I really don't want a big thing to be made out of this. There is NO way of finding out who did this, unless I point blank ask my employer, and I'm not going to do that.
Even if I stayed here under a false identity like so many have suggested, I just can't risk something coming back as a character attack later on down the road.
I'm still trying to figure out what to do about hundreds of my posts. Some of them, I just can't bring myself to delete, and I'm just trying to figure out what to do.
-
Hi Beth -- I just PM'd you.
Ann
-
(((Beth)))
I hate to see you delete your posts for the sake of the women here, and the unlucky ones who will find themselves here in the future. Your words are wise, warm, funny, and give hope.
It breaks my heart to think about you having to sit there and delete your heartfelt words, even the "impassioned" ones, as if you had done something wrong, or had ill intent when you wrote them.
Is it possible to look at it this way - your employers have already seen your posts, and although they have requested that you no longer participate in this site, there is nothing you have already written that is damaging to you or them in any way, so it is OK to leave them?
-
WHAT, {{Beth}} I too have just found out about this!
I have always thought of You as a Very Special Sister that told it like it is, and LOVE that about You as many other things!
I received a PM from someone with some PM'S from You!
I never have talked to this sister before, have never seen a post from her! it was about the Debate on the president forum!
if You would like I will pm you her name!
I say this in public, because 1 You deserve to know
and 2 I hate that I got them!!!!
I wish you the best in life, and so very sorry that someone would
go that low as to hurt a sister and posibly her finances, that help her with treatments and care! Gods Speed, Sweety
and to the person/s that did this "WHAT GOES AROUND COMES AROUND" VENGENCE IS MINE SAYETH THE LORD"
AND I'M PRAYING!!!

Beth, Before you leave for good I just wanted to say thank you for all you've done for me and the rest of the girls. You were really very helpful and supportive during one of the scariest and most trying times of my life and for that I am very grateful. I know that you will go on to help and support so many more woman out there. Your amazing and we are so lucky to have had you on this site!

Beth,
I'm truly saddened to read of these things happening to you. It breaks my heart. Please stay in touch with us however best you can. You are so loved here,
BGirl
-
Beth, I love you and adore you and respect the snot out of you.
You really have inspired and influenced myself and probably thousands of other women.
You are a hero. Can I still email you to keep in touch? You've got one heck of a mojo streak in you, as well as lots of Target tips.
Love and prayers, Deb -
Beth, I'm new to this thread but I've read many of your posts. I can't imagine anything that you've written which would get you in trouble but maybe I missed some. I haven't looked at the MOJO postings yet. Anyway, sorry to be losing you. You added much to this board.
-
Beth,
I too am very saddened by the reason you are leaving BCO. The person or persons responsible for "tipping" off your bosses are in essence, garnering pleasure by inflicting pain on you. I believe the technical term is "Schadenfreude."
Obviously, he/she/they, to say the least, are not living a happy and contented life, thus the only happiness they can muster is to (secretely) deliver pain to you.
For anyone who prays and chooses to pray for the culprit(s), let's pray that this person or persons can find happiness by contributing to the greater good, as opposed to the greater bad. Jealousy is a monster and it's at work here.
You certainly will be missed here. And again, all the very best to you and your SO.

Amen Puppy...you said it perfectly!! Remember, whomever you are...karma is a B*%$#!!
Beth,
I have said it before...and I will say it again....THANK YOU, THANK YOU!! You gave me so much valuable information, and for that, I will always be grateful.
Please don't delete your pm's...I will treasure the ones I have from you!
You are a wonderful, caring young lady...who has so much love for life, and I know you have many wonderful years ahead of you! All the best on your upcoming wedding!
I will miss you!!
xoxo

Beth, I am so saddened that your participation here has somehow caused you grief in your workplace. You've been so open with your life here. It should be cause for celebration, even for those who hold opinions contrary to yours. I think anyone who tries to cast you in a negative light to your employers is just a person who is herself steeped in negativity. You could've been posting anonymously all this time, and I think it's a gross violation of your generous support that someone has taken unscrupulous advantage of your open honesty.
I'm glad to have a better understanding of your circumstances. While I'm sorry to see you go, I understand now and cannot disagree with your decision. I can't even second the notion that you come back with a different user name. True colors shine through any username, and you would be easy to spot with all your vibrance. You go girl and look out world. I am so glad you were here when I was facing my surgery. I achieved a much better outcome by travelling to get a diep than I ever would have received locally. For that, I am forever grateful to you and others who have helped.
-
Beth,
I've seen and read your post over the years. I am sorry this has happend. I'm sorry the moderators won't even respond to you - definitely not the site
of a year or so ago. I truly don't understand what perverted fullfillment comes to those that find it necessary to hurt others by words or actions; I also don't understand how they find the time to dig and get "info" either. They have to be very unhappy and far to much time on their hands.
This is just another sad event of late. Like everyone, I am sorry this happend to you. I wish you well as you move forward and may your life be rich and full of good things.
Brenda

Beth, I've really enjoyed reading your posts. You've been an inspiration to most of us here, and it is our loss that you're leaving. So sad that this has to happen to you. I just don't understand the motives of some people sometimes. Suxx.
Thank you for everything!!!!
Praying that you'll stay healthy, happy and cancer-free!
God bless you,
Aurora
-
hey,
wishing you the best.
you will be missed
-
I am so sorry you must delete your posts and the mods have not even responded.
It was well said above that this is such a different site from, for me, 5 years ago. I've seen some rough times here and been disgusted with the trash that was spoken to others but I would have never imagined that someone from here, even the trouble makers, would stoop so low as to contact a workplace about one of us. Can hardly wait for Karma to catch up with the one who did it.
I wish you well, will miss your wisdom and joy.
Blessings.
-
Hey Dotti -- I think Beth finally heard from the mods, and also had further discussions with her employers and will be able to continue to participate.
But I certainly agree about Karma and people who intrude into other's lives and livelihoods.
Hope you're well Dotti -- I think you and I are on the same "late shift" here!
Best,
Ann
-
OH, yeah...she "heard" from the mods by way of having all of her posts removed....ten days after requesting it and after she had decided to let them stand. UGH
-
Hi Beth,
I have always enjoyed reading your posts and I hope you stay but if you do not, I wish you all the luck in the world.
-
Sorry to see you go! Thanks for being in our "club".
Good luck!
Lynne
-
Beth's not going anymore! At least I hope not!!!!
-
Beth: I understand and appreciate your decision. This is an upstanding way to deal with a "life lesson" situation. Hopefully you will find another way to be a supportive sister and find the support you need as well.
-
Beth, although I knew you posted that you were leaving, I was completely in the dark as to why until today. Now, I don't read all of your posts but I've read enough to believe you should have nothing...absolutely nothing...to be embarrassed or ashamed about. Even if we're talking mojo...it's completely normal for you and any of us to be working through intimate concerns or celebrating victories in the mojo dept. It must be disconcerting and uncomfortable knowing your bosses know such details but please don't let anyone shame you. Your bosses can submit a thread here asking about you and we'll all gather and tell them how valuable you are. Hugs!
