Well, Well, Sue - I am glad to see you feeing better but I wish you would have stayed home today.
Lucy - how lucky for you to find someone that you can connect with so deeply. Enjoy every minute.
Lisa- Congrats on DD's spot. I hope you don't have to travel far tomorrow. I'm sure your bone scan will be fine - I have THE WORST aches and pains from Tamoxifen. I feel like I am 100yrs. old. I asked my oncky this week to give me something else - so he prescribed Arimedex (sp) - from what I hear its suppose to be worse !!!
Karen - I am due to go to my ob/gyn this month. He told me last year that he is going to want to do a transvaginal ultrasound this year as I will be on the Tamoxifen for a year and there is a risk of endometrial (sp) cancer. Oh Joy, ANOTHER procedure!!!
Shirlann- how are you feeling?? Hope the fall does interfere with your trip.
UB is beginning to feel the effects of the chemo. He has been having pains in his stomach and back near his kidney. He's telling me the percocet isn't working. Might have to call the oncky to get something stronger. Other then that he is hanging in there. He wanted me to tell you all that he appreciates your concern and to tell Sue he will definitely join you on the road to Oz but he's not sure that beer & chocolate are such a good combo.
I snuck out this afternoon and got my hair cut. I was suppose to get a cut & color last week but with UB being in the hospital I cancelled. Money is a little tight right now so I put the color on hold. But I have to say for the first time in a LONG time I finally have a hair style!! LOL. Before when I went she would just shape it a little, now I had enough hair for her to actually do something with it. My curls are starting to disappear as well - HOORAY!!! Now, I can't wait to get rid of the grey.
Well they called and scheduled the biospy - its March 20th. They say I should be there no more then 2 hours so thats a good thing I guess. I wish it were tomorrow. UGH!!
We are suppose to get some snow tonight, thank God its the weekend. I am just lying low tomorrow - building a fire, snuggling under the afghan that the ladies on the afghan thread sent me this week - Yeah, Sue, I got one too, its beautiful, with Delberts big head in my lap - speaking of the knucklehead he just walked in the room - came over - let me kiss him on the nose and walked out - what a goofball.
I might be back later.
Love to all,
AE

Hi dear sisters, Walt and I had to be at the hospital at 4:30am. Then, we checked in and he went up to a room, got undressed and had an angiogram of his lower legs. They couldn't do anything, the doc said his closed veins in his legs (diabetes) were not bad enough to take the risk. So okay, that's fine. Now it is 10:30am and we have been there for 6 hours, as you all know, SuperKlutz fell day before yesterday and I am sore all over and the hospital chairs are made of nail heads.
I sat, and sat, and sat, and sat, finally, Walt was brought back to the room about 11:00am. They brought us a box lunch. The surgeon told him he could go home between 12 and 1pm. Fine. We just now got home, at 4:00PM. Almost 12 hours. I am so exhausted. I am going to feed the pets, walk Dusty, have a cuppa, take a bath and HIT THE BED!!!
But the good news is, the cruise is ON, no problem, the doc says, WHOOPEEEE,
Love you all, Shirlann
-
Shirlann - I am so happy for you both - go and have the best time ever!!

Good news Shirlann...so glad you can still take your trip!! Just no falling...lol
Lucy!!!!!!!!! So happy to see you back! So excited to see you in TRUE LOVE!!! You go girl...a younger man...I LOVE IT!!! That's what I want..not love yet...but maybe a boy toy!! haha! Are you going to replace your pic on here..with a pic of the two of you?? What do you mean...you didn't think he would want to be with someone like you?? God girl, give yourself some credit!! You are BEAUTIFUL, inside and out!!! I am very happy for you. Now...DON"T BE A STRANGER!!
Sue...R relax
E escape
S solitude
T tranquil
remember...to REST!!! Notice there is no WORK in REST!!!
AE....Sorry to hear UB is feeling the effects of the chemo. I do hope he gets something stronger to help him with the pain.
Good for you on the haircut!! Yeah!! I bet that feels good to have a style!! How long has it been that you have been growing it back in? I am so looking forward to not having these curls!!
Today, at the bone scan, the tecs were telling me how they loved my short curly hair. HAHA...they were serious...I said thanks...but that I couldn't wait for my "old" hair.
Enjoy the weekend. We got more snow today..but now it is raining and starting to melt some of it. You bundle up under that new afghan, and cuddle with UB and the dogs!! Relax...you so deserve it!!
So, you don't get your biopsy till March 20th? That is a long wait. Darn.
Olivia's filming is tomorrow morning in Cleveland...at 9am..only about a 35 min trip for us. Not bad at all. She is so excited. One of the Cleveland Cavaliers (basketball, for those that don't know) is in the commercial too. It happens to be a player that she just loves, and thinks is very HOT! Haha..should be fun for her. I will try and take a pic if possible.
I may get on later.
Much love to all my sisters!!
xoxo

Sue, it appears that you may be feeling a bit better. Please don't work so hard. You need to rest up and heal. Do you get to skip your next CMF or delay it at all? I hope your doctors can give you something to lessen the side effects for you.
AE, that is a while to wait, but time will fly by before you know it.
Shirlann, I'm glad you get to go on your trip. I want to see lots of photos! I'll live vicariously through you... I have only had a few vacations in my life so this will be fun for me to hear all about.
Hugs to all of you!
-
I kicked a fireman because I'm sexy and I do what I want!
I've finally caught up with everyones posts - wow! I was only away from here for a couple of days and so much to catch up on.
Sue, so glad you are feeling a bit better and thrilled that you have a week off very soon. I hope you can forget about work for all of that time and just do feel-good things and rest - and talk to us of course!!
AE - am thinking of you. I am just so angry that you have to have another biopsy, with all you and your dear man are going through - it's so unfair! I hope so much that they will just find benign calcs and that will be the end of that. I loved hearing about your dear dog stopping by you for a big kiss on the nose!
Shirlann - so happy that Walt's test came back ok and that you can still go on your trip. Hope your soreness from the fall gets better soon but so glad you didn't break anything.
Lisa - that is fantastic about your daughter doing the commercial! And with a hunky sportsman too! How excited she must be! Please pass on my congratulations and I hope she is "discovered" by an even bigger advertising company! Wish I could see the ad. Your bone scan sounds as though it will be ok - the techs know an awful lot. When I had a colonoscopy done last year, a nurse let me know everything was ok by some subtle comments!
Hi Mia! Hope you are doing ok. You must be so sick of the snow by now. I loved it when I was in Burlington because it was such a novelty but I am sure you will be happy to see the last of it in the springtime. It must be so beautiful there then. My sister is back in Burlington now, staying with her daughter, waiting for the baby to be born. She was due on the 18th Feb so she's now almost 2 weeks overdue! The baby is small and they are keeping a careful eye her and my niece.
Lucy - atagirl! Wow - it all sounds so intense and romantic - just what you needed! I think we need to see some pics soon!
Well, I had a very busy week. Eldest son came back from Cambodia, I started my mental health course (great bunch of people - really diverse, fun and friendly) and yesterday my dh and I went up to the mountains again to look at more houses. My favourite is still the first one we looked at but we did see 2 more that are worth considering. It was delightfully cool up there and we had to rug up - we both love the crisp, clear mountain air and the beautiful gardens and trees. I would love to live there.
I think my LE is improving - the swelling seems to be decreasing. I was a bit upset when my wrist got all lumpy about 10 days ago but I think that wearing my compression sleeve 24/7 and massaging it am & pm has helped a lot.
I loved all your funny sentences from that game - my vague brain can't remember who started it - was it you, Sheila? The sniffing one was funny!
Love to you all - including Mel, Tender, Dawn, Angie, Karen, Melody, Ulla, Vasul, Karyll, Wren and the new girls who posted here - can't remember your names but if I scroll back to look I might lose my post - great to see your comments.
Time for bed!
Hugs,
Jane xxxx

My sister just rang me from Canada to say that Grace, my new grand niece, was born about 20 minutes ago! Olive skin and lots of black hair. I am so relieved and happy. Grace is her first baby.
Now, must go to bed.

gb ,
she sounds like heaven must be missing an angel!xxxx Mel

Ulla darling , where are you? I hope you are OK. The last we heard , your hubby was having problems adjusting to Eriks. Is everything OK?
Please write when you can.xxxx Melody
-
Hi girls. I heard from Ulla on the October chemo thread. She's very busy with rads, I guess. It takes up most of her day just getting there and back. I'm sure that by evening time she's exhausted from it all. It sounds like she's doing well though.
Lisa, I'm so excited for Olivia. I think she has a bright future in modeling. She's absolutely gorgeous. Let us know how the shoot (isn't that what they call it?) went.
Jane, congrats on the birth of your new grand niece. Grace is a beautiful name for what sounds like a beautiful baby! Please share pics when you can! The house in the mountains sounds wonderful. I actually pondered the idea when dh talked about moving to Leavenworth. It is so beautiful and serene there. Makes the hustle and bustle of our life here seem so stressful by comparison.
Lucy, I'm so happy for you. New relationships are so passionate and exciting. I miss it sometimes, but I like the comfortable feeling of an established relationship as well. Please share pics of your new man!!
Love to all--Sue, Mia, Shirlann, AE, Wren, Mel, Tender, Ulla, Valsul, Karyll, and anyone I may have missed.

Way to go Olivia!!!!!! I can't wait to see you on the tube. Lisa , you must be so excited too. Let me know when to watch for it. xxxx
Shirlann , sorry to hear about your fall. Are you sure you're OK? I hope so. Have fun on your trip. Can't wait to hear all about it when you get back.

Thanks Mel for the cute baby "card"! I hope I get some photos soon.
Hope everyone is having a good weekend.
Love to all

WOOOO, that picture is great! I hope I get to see the Amazon other than from the high deck of a ship. We have a couple of shore excursions, so I think we will get out in the bush, probably just enough to get malaria.
Well, more news, Walt pops out of bed today, they told him to stay quiet, rest, not bend, the incision is tiny, but it goes to the femoral artery. Soooo, he mops the floor, takes out the trash, feeds the pets, rushes around, I finally tell him, STOP, REST, you are driving me crazy. He says, Okay, just hand me the hose up and I will water and then quit. So, I go down the stairs, open the door to the garage, open the garage door to hand him up the hose on the porch, and hear a Gd awful crash, followed by a groan. I race up the steps, he did not see the screen was on the slider, ran into it, fell down, and he had two gashes on his head. I was shakey. He seemes okay, so I sat with him awhile and we both calmed down. Then, all is quiet, right?
NOT, I hear our neighbor shouting, I go down the stairs, I had left the garage door open, the house door open, and the dog and cat had wandered into the neighbors garage. I was so embarrassed. Here was Dusty, with Cleo on his heels, wandering around, in pet heaven.
So, that was my day, Hugs, Shirlann

Sounds like Lucy got bite by the love bug!
Please post a pic , we have to check him out!xxxx
Hi Karen , hows your weekend going so far? Its cold and snowy here. I stayed in my pjs all day! Yep , having a slug kinda day. One good thought , spring is 3 weeks away!YEAH!!!!!!xxxx
Hi Sue
! How are you today? Hope you're still feeling better. Gosh , I love your "boos"! One of my best friends and I always did that to one another , if we were down or what ever the reason. It always makes me smile. And when guys started wearing their hair spiked straight up , we would go up to them and say BOO! We thought it was funny...
Are you going anywhere on your holiday? I hope you have a relaxing time , even if it is just staying around home. I will be going to Tennessee with my son , March 21st. and am staying a week. It should be their spring time by then. I can't wait. How are your boys doing? Hope they are well and happy. OK , sweet dreams dear Sue.xxxx
Oh , I wanted to mention , one of our dear sisters here just got the news we all dread , she just found out she is stage 4. Alaska Deb. She is a real sweetheart and always very helpful and compasionate to all. She was someone who helped me when I first came here. I lit a candle for her. I posted under the group bco. If you would go light a candle , that would be great.xxxx Melody
-
Oh - I always enjoy reading Alaska Deb's posts. I am so sorry Deb. Sending you gentle hugs and praying that you will will continue to have strength and courage.
Love,
Jane

Hello Sisters!!
I just got back from Olivia's filming of the commercial! What a long day...we got up at 6:45am..we were in Cleveland at 8:45..and we just got home at 6:30pm! VERY, very exciting day...allot of sitting...but she got to meet her favorite basketball star! She got pic's and all. He is very cute!! I have to admit..he was somewhat intrigued with her! As a mom...I noticed it! Anyhow...a great day! I was very proud of her. She was absolutely dying with laughter, because of the pants she had to wear...the were really high waisted!! Too funny! The commercial will air here 3/24/08 till 4/27/08. Mel can see it!! If there is anyway that it can be accessed on the computer I will let you know. She really did a great job!
Jane...congratulations on the new baby to your family. I love the name Grace...that is Olivia's middle name. In fact...if she ever makes it big..she is dropping her last name and using "Olivia Grace" as her stage name.
Shirlanne...oh my poor Walt!! I hope he is doing ok now. What a day the two of you had!! I hope you rounded up the animals..haha.
Where is our Sue??
Mel...I love all the pics you post. I will try and post one pic from my phone from today...it's of Olivia with the Basketball teams mascot...Moondog. My phone does not take very good pics...and I don't have a digital. Wait...I can't, I am not able to log onto photbucket...say's I need cookies..and I don't know how to do that...I will have to ask Olivia to take a look. Darn.
I am really tired...even though I didn't do much...besides watch and wait..long day. Plus I ate allot of McDonald's food...which I never do..but hey..it was free!
xoxo

Oh my gosh Shirlann! I sure hope Walt is OK. Poor thing. With having balance problems lately , he sure didn't need that. Hugs to him.xxx
Awww , Dusty and Cleo went visiting!lol I think its cute. Did the neighbors? Do they go to the kennel when you go away?(not the neighbors , Dusty and Cleo) I wish I lived by you , I would come take care of them for you.
Be careful on your trip , no malaria!!!!xxxxx Melody
-
Shirlann- you are having your fair share of it lately, aren't you?? Tell Walt Aunty Em said to SIT DOWN & STAY THERE!!! lol.
Everyone is going away
I'm sooo jealous. UB & I were suppose to go to New Orleans in April - I guess we'll have to put that on hold for awhile. UGH!!
Am I the only one sick of this weather????? I swear if it doesn't get warm soon..............
Karen- how is the house hunt coming?? I can't believe you are doing that during treatment. The only thing I did during treatment is.... NOTHING!!!
There is a woman here that I speak to that is Stage 4 and she just sold her house and is moving one town over!! Right now I think she is in Costa Rica. I am in awe of all of you.
Hey Sue - hope you are sleeping and not doing paperwork. But I doubt it. Stay under that afghan and pet Zippy until you both fall asleep., hear me??
Mel, I know who AlaskaDeb is as well - a sweetheart of a lady. A sad day indeed.
bbl,
AE

If anyone doesn't have the site for the candles , here it is
-
Ladies, I started a candle site in the Moving Beyond - Circle the Wagons - thread if you are interested in lighting candles for anyone.
AE

AH NO, not Alaska Deb, no, no, she is one of my loves, and so funny. No no, too much. But she is a real fighter, and on AOL's cancer site, they have a group called "Stage IV Amazons", they are something. I had that site when I was still working, a lot of the gals were 10, 14 years with mets. They popped up, rads knocked them down, sometimes for a lot of years. I will hope and pray for the best.
Hey Sue, love, you sound a bit better. Hopefully you got someone's attention, you just want what everyone else gets. TELL THEM, you are alone with two children and a job and can't be testing new treatments for them. BE FIRM!!!! You can't get this sick again.
Yes, Walt and I are battered, but still alive, my grandson, Chris will be living here and watching the fur babies while we are gone. They will be alone a lot, but this is better than a kennel. He loves pets and they love him.
Oh, a new baby. And one of our girls is in love. Beautiful life goes on.
Where is ULLA???? I don't like so many days without hearing from her?
Love to my dear, precious sisters, AE, Melody, Karen, Lisa, Wren, Mel, Tender, Valsul, Mia, anyone I forgot, I am afraid to look too far, I will lose my post. Shirlann
-
Oh Shirlann, poor Walt! You two have had a rather rough time of it lately, haven't you?
What an exciting day you had, Lisa. I imagine you were exhausted when you finally made it back home. Please share the video with us if possible. I'd love to see it.
I love your new avatar, AE. Too cute. Chase loves it too.
I've never posted on any of the threads that Alaska Deb posts on, but I've read them. She seems like such a caring, funny, sweetheart of a lady. I was so sad to read that her cancer was back. It's just not fair. I hate bootface with a passion!Well, I'm beat. Birthdays are nice, but exhausting too. Seems like everyone wants a piece of you. I shouldn't complain--it just means that there are plenty of people who love me.
Off to bed I go. Love to everyone!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
Oh Karen,
I AM SO SORRY I MISSED YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!! I hope it was everything you wanted it to be and more....................
