Thanks for the condolences, ladies. Hugs to those of you who have lost mothers, too. Lisa #3--I'm so sorry you lost your mom recently, especially around the time you were diagnosed.
I also lost my dad, my grandfather and my father-in-law to cancer. Plus now my uncle and aunt are in treatment for cancer. This is getting old.
Sylvia--I've been praying for you, too.
On a positive note, I finished rads today. Yay!

ok I'm calendar impaired = thanks for the reminder ...
See you guys on Sundayr.

I sure wish I could join you this Sunday! It is soooooo cold here. I even know the road where you'll be!
I'm so sorry Nash to hear about your Mom. I really miss my Mom. I'm glad she got to see that you were finishing and will be OK.
I had my smash and flash on Monday and the rad told me I was dancing with NED! I see my onc next week for my one year. I'm glad this month will end. It has been tough with all of this going through my mind all over again. Time to move forward!
When I get your way again, I'll look ya'll up! Take care and have a drink on me! Linda

We will miss you shirlann---thanks for all of the prayers and good wishes everybody-scheduled for surgery on 3/3---UNLESS something comes up!!! This time it will be MRI guided.will need the wires inserted to lead the way---I'm so dense---I used to think that when they openedyou up it would be like a big red marble-beacon or something going wackawacka...here I am...but I guess it is not that easy. Anyway---trying to stay calm and everyone is saying--"It is NOTHING...they are just being overly cautious because there was CA there b-4"...I pray for that to be the truth. See you at 1 tommorrow.....S

Sure was a nice time. Thanks for taking me to the dog show after lunch LisaSDCA. I really enjoyed that.
We really missed all of you that couldn't make it. Starfish is in charge for next month. Can't wait.

It was great to see everyone, but oh, that picture - I guess I'll be starting Weight Watchers sooner rather than later

Thanks for posting the picture, Liz. It was a fun get-together, as always. Sure did miss two of our founding members, Melia and Shirlanne, on this, our first anniversary - but maybe next month at Phillippi's!
Brenda and I went across to the Silver Bay Kennel Club afterward to see the Groups and watch a beautiful Corgi take Best in Show. We both saw half a dozen dogs we could take home and quite a few we wouldn't want to vacuum up after!
Hope you are beginning to feel human again, Lisa/Starfish. We are thinking of you. We did some ta-ta show & tell (even though mine are only a week old) and you can join in next time!
Is this sharper? Can't tell -
Love y'all

Terrific - it didn't post my edited version. I'll go back and edit it out so it doesn't take up bandwidth.

So are we going to do Starfish's idea at Filippis in Little Italy
on the 29th of Mar??
Works for me and maybe with the Saturday Melia can join us??
-
Yum. Pizza. Something I can taste!
Good seeing you guys yesterday.

I am up of the March gathering. I will make Saturday work. Come on Melia and Shirlann. We miss you so.

The 29th sounds great. Only possible glitch is that my husband has prostate cancer, is still weighing his options, but if he chooses surgery and isn't able to be left alone, I would have to skip. But that's a LOT of ifs .... I will really try to come. I miss all of you. And pizza, how wicked is that! Yum.
-
Sorry to hear about your DH, meliaanee.
I won't be able to make the 29th. We'll be driving back from NM, from my mom's memorial service. Hope to see you all in April!
-
Well, we are leaving on a cruise, I think on the 30th. I will check. If I miss another one, I am going to croak!
Hugs, Shirlann -
Hello all-- Just found this thread. I live in Carlsbad. I think I recognize a few names from the support group with Bunny Nedry in Encinitas. Anyhow, where and when is the next meeting?? I can only come on weekends due to work schedule.
Going to the SK Spa Breast Cancer night in La Jolla tonight. Anyone else??
I've been looking for info on Sharp vs Kaiser. Don't want to hi-jack the thread, but pls PM me if you have any info. I am about to go on a group plan thru my employer and those are the only options. Scary to switch providers now as I am 4 1/2 years from DX.
-
Melia-I am sorry to hear about your dh's dx. What a bummer. I know a few people who have had prostate cancer and they are doing well now. Every man in my dh's family has had it except for his dad. He passed for other reasons. We are hoping dh does not have the same genes as the rest of the men.
Nash-Sorry you are going to miss again. That is a long drive though. Did your mom come from NM?
Shirlann-the 29th is not the 30th? Pack a day early and be there.
Soccermom-Welcome. Please come to our next lunch. Starfish is organizing it and she is recovering from surgery so I am sure she will post closer to the day. We will be meeting on the 29th I believe at Fillippi's in Little Italy. Scroll back. It is there somewhere. I can't help you with Sharp or Kiaser but I know LisaSDCA and Melia were doing Kiaser and I think 3Boys was doing Sharp. Congrats on 4 1/2 years. That is so cool.
-
Lisa,
Thanks for posting the picture. Nice to see your smiling faces. Be thinking of me back here in Michigan in all the snow. Got up to 4 more inches of it this morning and it is still snowing and blowing. You are such a wonderful supportive group. I'm going to my support group meeting tonight, weather permitting. What would be do without our Sisters!
Love and prayers to all of you, Linda
-
Brenda--my parents lived in NM for 40 years (although my mom is from Michigan originally), and that's where I grew up. I had her move out to CA with us 3 1/2 years ago when she went from Stage IIIB to Stage IV. I'm really grateful we had the last 3 1/2 years with her here with us.
Welcome, soccermom! Don't have any experience with either Sharp or Kaiser, sorry. What's the support group in Encinitas like (how often do you meet and when, etc?) Don't know if I have time to go to something in person, but I'd be interested in hearing about it. Have fun at the spa in La Jolla!
-
nash-it was so great to just run into you at dinner last night. You look so good. What a wonderful surprise.Your kids are just adorable with all those luscious curls.
starfish-where are you and how are you doing?
Sylvia-I will be thinking of you on Monday. Everything is going to be fine. Saying a prayer for you.
-
Hey, BMD--I was just logging on to say the same to you. It was a treat to see you and meet the fam! Your boys are darling.
Good luck, Sylvia! I'll be praying for good results for you.
-
Okay, Okay, any hope for another day? We are flying out of LAX so we go up and spend the night at the Hilton, our flight leaves at 6:25am, so we cannot drive up from good old San Diego.
I will just have a cow if I miss another date, any chance of of of, oh no, that is Easter, no, that is Palm Sunday, shoot, shot down again.
Sob, sob, well, if we can't change it I understand.
Sob, Shirlann
-
Lisa,
You told me about a meeting where Dr. Love was present. Can you tell me again the organization? I want to look into it.
Thanks and take care all of you. I have a bone scan this Friday and US; onc isn't expecting anything. Just being extra cautious. I'll let you know.
Linda
