Side Effects of Faslodex
Comments

Just had my first treatment of faslodex. Seems that I may be having side effects. Pelvic pain, cough, temperature. Are these some of the side effects. Would like to hear from any of you who have had side effects to faslodex.
Thank you.

I have been getting faslodex for 9 months and have been having no side effects from it at all. Sorry, can't help you here.
-
I don't know if it was the faslodex or the zometa - because i took them at the same time, but the first 3 or 4 treatments of it I felt like I had the flu -- bone pain, temp, body aches... I don't remember when it stopped, but it eventually did. After that, I had no side effects from the treatment other than a sore hip for a few days from the faslodex injection.....
-
Kimmy I have the flu symptoms with the zometa. The first couple of times I got the fever and terrible body aches. It has gotten better. I still have the bone pain the night of and the day after, but no fever.
Kelly, Are you on zometa?
-
Sunnee, you can get that bone aches to stop, ask them to slow down your infusion from 15 minutes to 30 minutes. Some people have them give them extra fluids and that helps with body aches also. I used to have trouble and had them slow it down but now I have no troubles with it.

Only had two injections of faslodex so far (at the same time) and experienced no SEs. If you received an IV bisphosphonate at the same time, it could have caused bone aches and slight fever. Also, there is a flu going around that causes cough, temperature and sore throat.
Good luck to you. Hope this all sorts out okay. -
I'm not on fslodex, but zometa gave me awful flu sx,vomiting, and fever. They give me a little decadron and zantac prior to my infusion which really helps. Now i just feel a little run down on days 2-3.

Had my 1st lot of faslodex two weeks ago now...SE... of the 16 I have had 8 but they dont last to long...
I also came down with a rotten cold a week ago....and I also wondered if it was a SE...there is nothing on my sheet that says it is...but on looking online I did see that it is one of the rare ones...so who knows ..I am in Australia its summer and I have since been told that others have this cold so I just dont know the answer is it or isnt it a SE ?
I do intend to mention it when I get my next injection..
Might add I still dont want to eat , but thats ok with me I need to loose weight !

Hi, I've Just had my Zometa a few hours ago, and I asked them to slow it down after I read Luannes advice. So we will see if it helps with the side affects. My experience has been flu like symptoms for 3 -4 days and I've learnt to stay on my bed for a day after, not run around. This certainly helps. I never used to get so nauseous, but think my liver must be taking strain.
Just got my bloods results, all fine, no bone loss, normal cell turnover. Well !!!! I am over the moon..
Ozzie, I had Faslodex for 6 months, with no side affects. I think you must be tired and a bit run down. Can you have some time out? maybe rest and let others spoil you. XX

Hay Ozzie, I didn't mean to sound crass about being tired and run down. I know I don't stop for one moment, trying to prove there's nothing wrong, and my husband tries to nail me down. He's proved to me time and again, I must rest (flat on bed) for 1 day after Zometa. It sure helps.
I tried to today, but with building operations, people in and out like a railway station, it's impossible. Slowing the infusion down for ZOmeta certainly helped with the nausea though.
I do hope the s.e of the Faslodex get better. Rest up hon as the Americans like to say. (its so cute).

Sorry if I'm reviving an old post, I would rather do that than open a new thread. I've been having symptoms that might be faslodex side effects but I'm confused about something and have a couple of questions. I usually feel little weird after the shot but usually have no side effects. The other day I had smotach cramps and vomited 8 or 9 days after my shot, didn't think it was related. This time the same happened but with other symptoms (body aches, strong headache, cough, maybe fever, didn't check) every symptom described as faslodex side effects except this time it started happening 1 or 2 days after injection (I do think they injected me faster this time which may have contributed), and I again I vomited and had stomach cramps. Before the gastric discomfort and vomiting I thought I just had the flue, but then remember what happened last time I thought I might be getting side effects from faslodex, but the fact that it took a different amount of days to happen each time is very confusing for me. If you get side effects, wouldn't you get them at around the same time each month? Or does it just affect you the whole time and some days maybe you're weaker and it hits you harder? I'm trying to figure out whether this is truly faslodex or something I should be looking into. I've though I might have gastric mets but my doctor doesn't think much of it and hasn't requested tests, she just said it might oe might not be faslodex. Thanks in advance.
