Maz -- I don't have any other suggestions right now, but I have an appointment with my dermatologist on Thursday to go over skin, hair and nail issues to see what she recommends both for prevention and treatment.  I'll let you know what I find out.

Jewels, anybody been in touch with Jenn 51 (maybe via a PM or something).   Looks like she has had the full meal deal of txts over the last couple weeks.  Hopefully she is just having a "puter" problem.

    Hey JewelsCool

We lost our power 21 times.....whew!Laughing BUZZ-BUZZ-BUZZ went the clippers today! I will get the photos up tomorow. I really don't think you want to see me lounging around in my furry blue robe!! LOL

Had my meltdown during the head shaving..cried, cried , cried..made dh cry too! I give him alot of credit for buzzing me..my head got real itchy and i left hair at WALMART, gas station, Sam's Club..it was time!

Another quick story..we went to a Japanese steakhouse for dinner last night...the guy cooking at out table says everyone sit back in chairs and he does this fire thing on the grill he is cooking on..we had a whole table, we were loud having fun bunch and when he lit that thing..it was a HUGE fire and I said "do you see why I didn't wear the wig it would of sizzled" They where laughing and so was the cook!Laughing

I forget which sister said to go to heavenlyhats.com and I did and sign up for free hat..3-4 weeks..worth a shot.

On the reunion front..the cruise thing might be perfect..warm climates/pool/tropical islands/ cool drink with umbrellas in them!!!Cool

We can get a great rate with the amount of people going..we can even meet the night before at a hotel by the dock for the reunion of a life time. When would every one want to do this? This fall, next year..the rates in the fall are great...It would be so cool..we all wear our shirts for the "family" photo!! Sorry just rambling again.

How are the gems that did treatment last week? Seems like so far soo good?

    An important note....

I WANT TO WISH OUR LEADER D1...A VERY HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY. SHE IS OUR FEARLESS LEADER....A VERY SPECIAL WOMEN..

I RAISE MY GLASS FOR TOAST TO HER..CHEERSKiss

Balditude is very different....it has been a traumatic year...i look at numbers ( i know i repeat myself) after my next treatment..half way done!!47 days to my last treatment..and with the ladies on this board..i couldn't have done it with out you!Wink

    hugs to all    xxxoo

Good afternoon, Jewels! I've had another lazy day today - slept in, worked on the computer, watched a movie with the dh. I've been fighting a migraine today - makes me mad b/c I had several things I wanted to get accomplished today. Oh well - what can you do?!

Hey Carol - I thought the same thing today about Jenn51 - haven't heard from her in a while. Sista2 has also been MIA for a while - hope you girls are okay!

Vettegal - welcome to the "Baldacious Babes" club - can't wait to see pics!! Good thing you didn't wear that wig to your Japanese dinner - singe city! When my mom was going through chemo when I was in grade school, I remember one time she was cooking in the kitchen and opened up the  oven, only to have the front part of her wig completely singe off from the heat!!

A cruise sounds perfect!! Not sure about the rest of you, but those of us who are teachers can't take off in the middle of the year (schools frown on that!) Yell - plus we're probably all out of sick days at this point!!  I'll be doing my reconstruction this summer and I know some will still be doing tx. Maybe June 09?? Plus that would give us plenty of time to get a good deal!!

Kimberly - sounds like you had a wonderful time with your friends - I'm jealous of your warm weather! It's in the 20's here and we're expecting a "wintry mix" over the next couple days. Ah the joys of living through a Midwest winter! Tongue out

Tina - sorry your last tx wiped you out - listen to your body and don't overdo! Get your rest!!

SheShe - glad you checked in!! We've been wondering where you were. Hope the meds kick in soon and you get some relief from your sinus infection. That stinks to have to deal with that on top of your se's. Hang in there!

Maz - glad you're doing okay after your last tx. Hope those darn se's stay at bay!!

Well, I'm off to try to get rid of this migraine!! Hope everyone has a nice Sunday evening! Take care, Jewels!

Vettegal- we're having a windy day here in WV, too.

Sherry- sorry about the sinus infection. It is frustrating to be sick on top of the chemo, isn't it? Feel better soon!

Julie- hope you've got a handle on that headache! Take care of yourself!

WVGirl- glad to hear you're taking care of yourself and getting the support you need! Bravo, girl!

CathyCA- I knew I was ready for the shave when I started shedding worse than my cats. Surprised I say if you're happy with your hair, enjoy it while you can!

My SIL ordered a chemotherapy shampoo for me from www.lovelysalon.com It feels really good and my scalp is as soft as a baby's bottom now that my stubble is nearly gone.

Carol- I'm with you on missing Jenn.

I think a Jewels Celebration would be so much fun--whereever we end up it is sure to be fun! I think Julie has a good point on the timing. There seem to be a lot of us in the teaching field.

D1- Just want to wish you a HAPPY BIRTHDAY tomorrow.

CHJ and CathyCA- you're next up to the chemo bar. Hope your treatments go well tomorrow.

    Catch you later, Jewels,

    Paula

    Hugs to all Jewels!

I hope everyone is doing well. I have been so anxious about my upcoming baldtitude but feel a little better since getting a really nice wig. I also bought some hats. I'm ready but not really. I was able to go out for dinner and have a really good time Friday night for a friends 50th birthday.

SIS Kimberly - my sub teacher is also a man. I feel good about leaving the kids with him as he knows them well by now. I was able to work last week and hope to this coming week as well.

Dana - my prayers are with you

D1 - Happy Birthday! Its fabulous to be fifty!!!!  Hope you can enjoy your day.

jkiss - I want my dog back too! He was almost 17 when I had to have him put to sleep - the same month as my diagnosis (November) :(

And I am not brave either about this awful hair loss thing- no buzz cut yet.

Carol - I love the tshirt and will definitely wear it for my next infusion (Feb.20)

Vettegal - Loved your bargains. I love shopping too!

I too love the cruise idea.

Good evening Jewels!  You've all been so chatty.  I spent most of the day laying around.  The bone aches are improving, but the fatigue hit me hard today.  Ho hum!  It's sooo windy here in DE I feel like our house could blow away.  I just hung out with my 2 year old and mom while the dh took our 5 year old to a b-day party (she has more of a social life than I do right now!).

D1 (and Carol):  I think the Taxotere causes the puffiness (fluid retention)-- face and legs I noticed with round #1.  Waiting to see what happens with this round.  Paleness is from chemo itself, but also happens if your red cell count is low (anemia).  I noticed my gums, nailbeds, and inner eyelids were really pale when my counts were down.   And D1:  HAPPY 50th tomorrow!  Have some cake for me.  I'm be thinking of you and am so glad to have "met" you-- this thread is amazing, thanks to you for starting it.

Texrn: Good to hear form you.  I hear the fatigue is cumulative somewhat.  Sorry the SEs are hitting you all over.  I think with kids we especially are tired from chasing them around-- I know I am.  One more round for you though-- awesome!  Good idea too about buzzing the hair at the end so it all grows in the same.  I also noticed the eye twitching a lttile. Hope it doesn't get worse.  My tingling fingers went away with round #1-- waiting to see what happens this time.

WVGirl:  OOOO, I hate mean people!  I hope his "pipe" backs up next time-- hahaha!  What a loser to pick on you.

SIS Kimberly:  You are too cool going to the ballet.  And the sex comments were great!  Hope to jump my dh for Valentine's Day if the chemo isn't still in my system...  hey, he's kinda hairy... maybe it'll help him (hahaha)!

Vettegal:  So jealous of your shopping spree.  Sounds like fun.  AAWWWW to vetteguy, too-- what a great dh!  I know how you feel, I am so lucky to have mine, too.  Wouldn't trade him for the world.  Oh, and I cried too when my dh shaved me.  I miss my hair :( and it wasn't all that great really.

JKiss:  Totally understand the stress added with little ones around (my 2 and 5 year old I referred to before).  Sorry you have more to deal with with your DH/dh.  Sometimes though I am glad to have my kids to keep me busy-- I look at them and remember they are half the reason I'm going through this sh*t-- to be there to see them grow up.  I give them big hugs a lot and thank my lucky stars to have them... they are my world and what gets me through this and makes me keep puttng one foot in front of the other.  Keep venting to us, and yes, cry!  It's OK and needed.  Hugs to you!

Cathy-CA:  My hair with TC started coming out about day 16.  I shaved it about day 19 b/c it was clumps coming out by then.  Interestingly, I'm day 26 (from #1 tx) and still have patchy hair on my head.  But the stubble is easier to clean up for sure.  Hang on to yours as long as you can stand it, I say! Can't wait to hear your info from the derm. You have good stuff to report a lot!

Sheshe: Good to hear from you.  Hope the abx help and you feel better soon.  You are so not being selfish-- this is the place to vent!

OK, and hate to tell ya, but no go for me and a cruise.  I have major sea-sickness and after chemo... no way!  But if everyone does something else, I'll be there.  June 2009 would be great as the kids will be out of school by then.

    Hi everyone!

Wow, lots of activity on here today.  I've been lurking in & out, but mostly vegging out today.  My dh & I watched a couple of movies and didn't do a whole lot else.  I've been eating as much as I can & drinking like a fish.  I am SO hoping my blood counts are up when I go for chemo tomorrow.  I think I look a bit pale, but mostly I'm feeling OK, just a bit tired & weak from the stomach thing last week.  Wish me luck.  I really want to get tx 2 done tomorrow!!

Vettegal - sorry your shaving party was so traumatic.  I'll look forward to the pictures.

D1 - HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!  I'll have a TC cocktail in your honor tomorrow, Lord willin'!!

KathyL - I'm kinda with you on the cruise thing.  My dh & I have been promising ourselves a nice vacation "some day" for a couple of years, and we never seem to get around to it (for a variety of reasons I won't get into here).  If I went off on a cruise without him, he'd be crushed.  Maybe a weekend getaway or something I could "get away" with, but never a cruise...  We'll see.  I'll be in chemo until at least May, and in rads for the better part of the rest of the summer.  It seems like such a long haul right now.

Everyone else - it sounds like we all have our ups and downs and challenges.  So many different issues, so many different situations, but if I have to go through this whole thing, I'm glad to have you all on the ride with me.  Hang tough, have courage!

    Be well everyone!

Good Afternoon, or is it early evening?

Maz- I’ll be watching how you’re doing on Tx 3 as mine is coming up on 2/19…I’d say that days 4-6 aren’t great…the rest are pretty good…just tiring. From day 11 on are really doable.

CathyCa- WhooHoo that you’re going to be our dermatology go to gal. Excellent that you’ll have lots to share with us.

Vettegal- Bummer that you’ve lost power so many times today. I’m assuming all is well now. Hey, Carol, maybe Jenn51 is having power outage issues.

I couldn’t agree with you more Vettegal about not being to do this alone. Personally, I don’t believe in coincidences…I truly believe we all found this site and this thread because we needed to find each other and do this together. You gals are such a blessing…no matter how much our friends and family may want to be there to support us, there is nothing like being in touch with others who know exactly what you’re going through. I raise my glass to D1 for having the drive to start her own thread since she felt the December group was too far ahead of her and to all or you for being members of this Jewel family.

Sounds like you had a great time last night at dinner…and that you’re handling being a baldacious babe better now that it is done. I just spent some time outside in my jimmies and my bald head talking with the neighbors and watching the kids outside playing…I’m sure anyone driving by who didn’t know me was thinkin’…OK, she’s the crazy woman of the neighborhood…hahaha. I had just taken a really long walk and was ready to settle in to read when the neighbors knocked and invited me out to set and hang out. Who cares if I’m back in my jams eh?

wvgirl-Hey, glad you popped in for a little shout out!!!

Julie- I second that teachers can’t go in the Fall…summer sounds good to me…June ’09 early so I can do my exchange afterwards and not miss school.

Are your migraines hormone-or lack of hormone-triggered?

Is there anything you can do about them before they get too bad?

I feel so badly for you gals in the Mid-East and East…sorry you’re having such cold weather while we are having sunshine…we have a storm front moving in next week if that helps make you feel any better.

Paula- I didn’t even know they had a chemotherapy shampoo. I’ll check out that website. Thanks for the headsup---hahaha.

Joan- How funny that your sub is a man, too. I’m so glad that more men are getting into the teaching field. It has been really heavy on the estrogen for a really long time…and so many kids need good male role models. Glad you got a wig you like. It will help to have that ready to go when the time comes for the big shave.

Kathy- Glad to hear you sound better and are able to just take it easy today. Thank goodness for mom’s/grandmoms and dh’s that pitch in when you need it most. I’m hoping you’re feeling up to a little lovin’ on Valentines Day, too. There’s nothing that compares to that endorphin rush nor that feeling of connecting with our spouses as well as a good lovin’session…and your dh will be thrilled with his gift for sure. ;-) Bummer about the cruise…sea sickness is not fun. OK, what about an all inclusive resort?

CHJ- First off, I’m thinking spouses should be allowed to go on our trip if they want to come along. Afterall, they are part of this journey, too, and they certainly can’t say they have nothing in common…hello, the Jewels. But, a weekend getaway could be a nice, too.

Good luck to our gals bellying up to the chemotini bar tomorrow…and a big Happy Birthday to our D1.

    Happy Sunday Evening,

Whew, just got home from our second "Celebration of Life", event of the weekend.  It was tough seeing our good friends enduring the loss of a parent, and knowing myself I'll never get that hug again from such a great lady.  There were lots of great photos and happy memories filling the room which some how eases the pain just a bit.

On a happier note, looks like most we're having a pretty good day, atleast in the FUSE department.  Ladies, we're one step closer to being done with this short chapter of our lives.

Kimberly, oh ya, I can just see you walking into the onc's office, the heads must be a flyin'!  Love the flying pic!

CHJ, sounds like your ready to go for tomorrow, gonna sport your FUBC T shirt?

CathyCa - looks like its your turn as well to belly up to the bar.  Here's to a smooth txt day for you both.

So cruising looks like it might not work, I'm still in with any other option.  Still leaning towards anything warm and anytime after this summer.

Off to la-la land, the 5:00 am wakeup comes early.

Oh, and one big HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHOUT OUT to the one and D only, D1 ... your the woman!!!  Happy 50thLaughing , I'll be at work tomorrow might not get the chance to shout out!

Okay, so I'm not in bed yet, just wanted to pass along a pretty cool story of a gal I met at the memorial today, she has a website for her cause and its quite the story in regards to the 3 day walks for bc.  The site is www.3daysineverycity.com , she was quite remarkable to talk to, I had not met her before, she had noticed I was wearing a couple of those pink rubber bracelets and struck up the conversation with me.  If you have time check out her website.  She might be walking in a city near yours.

    Okay, night all, Carol

Maz, I have been using Phisoderm  http://www.phisoderm.com/ on my scalp, I used to use it on my kids heads when they were babies. I use it in the shower like shampoo on my head, it has kept it nice and soft.

    Happy Birthday D1!!!

CHJ and CathyCa-have a calm and easy infusion cocktail today..

Today is day 4 after my #2 tx and I still don't know that I've had any real se's to speak of. I did keep a low profile all weekend (after going to the caucus Sat) because I just feel dragged out and tired; but I'm afraid to get my hopes up that this could be the worst of the se's. I've not had the bone pain yet either. I'm going to work today and will see how it goes... Here in the midwest we've still got the freezing temps and it would be so nice to stay under the covers but I need the $$$... if you know what I mean.

Kimberley and JKiss - Love your pics!!!

Have a good day sister Jewels!

Happy Birthday, D1!  I'm 51, but 50 was a good year for me.  Even the dx of breast cancer towards the end of that year has turned out to have unexpected positives.  It's helped me put some things in perspective and discover what wonderful friends I have.  All the best.

This is from the surgeon, not dermatologist, but for any of you having radiation, you should ask about applying Mederma and massaging your lumpectomy scar.  Apparently, radition can make pre-existing scarring worse.  The massaging helps break down the scar tissue underneath and the Mederma (I'm using the CVS generic version -- it's about half the price) helps smooth out the exposed skin.

Thanks for the good wishes on today's infusion.  I go in the afternoon, so will hit the gym this morning, go for the infusion and then to class tonight.  My husband and I take classes at the community college for something to do.  Fortunately, they are adult ed no-stress type classes, so if I need to leave early, it won't be a problem.

    Cathy-CA - I'm with you today!  Let's get 'r done!

CarolC - thanks for the encouragement re: few se's.  I think I deserve it this time for all I've been through in the past 3 weeks!!

golfer Carol - Yes, I have my "Friends United by Breast Cancer Wink t-shirt under my layers.  It's about 6 degrees ouside my door, so I am bundled up.  A friend is coming in a little bit to give me a ride.  I know she will get a kick out of the t-shirt, and will totally take it the way you all dreamed it up!!!

SIS Kim - love, love, love your superhero pictures!  You know, I have a new respect for bald!  So many of you look great that way!  I may work up the nerve to go out topless at some point, but only after it gets warmer around here!  I do have to lose the last of the stubble, though.  Maybe after this tx.

Well, away I go.  I sure hope my blood counts are up to the challenge!

Good morning Gems!  Chemo-brain seems to be better today, and the bone aches are almost gone.  Yay!  I hope to get my fat butt on the treadmill today.  It is so awesome reading everyone's posts and really makes me want to to hug each of you--- I'm so happy to be a part of this group.  Whoa!  What happy pill did they slip in my drink this AM?  hahaha!

CathyCA and CHJ:  hope the day goes well for each of you!

JKiss:  Love your avatar.  What a cutie you have there!  Loved the big smiles on you both.  And I liked hearing the dh helped with your shaving.  Hope it was a good moment for you both.  I know it meant a lot to my dh to do that for me.

SIS Kimberly:  LOL!  You are crazy lady!  LOVED the pics (looks warm where you are, so jealous...)-- cape and glass are a scream and I like the flying pic.  You are priceless.  Resort, spa, or beach all sound good to me.  I'm voting for the June 2009 time, too.  Maybe a weekend get-away would be easier for people and more affordable?

Carol:  Hoping work will be a return to "normalcy" and a reprieve for you from the weekend's "events".  Hope your week is brighter.

Diana63:  OOOO, nice tip about Phisoderm.  I never thoughtta that and it is a nice cleanser.

Catch you later Jewels. I'll be lurking throughout the day.

Hi, started chemo January 29,2008 A/C x4 every other week then 12 weekly rounds of Taxol followed by 6-7 weeks radiation.  I'm also doin a clinical on Avastin is anyone else?  I have IDC triple negative so I'll try it since there is nothing else for me after treatment ends.

I'm shaving my head wed after round 2 and just bought a wig I dread this the most.

Hey, hey, it's my birthday!!!  Thanks, you guys, for all the good wishes--it makes me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  (CHJ, so GLAD you're getting your chemotini in my honor today, but please don't send me the bar bill!)

The wind knocked our power out for much of the day, yesty, so no visits with the Jewels for me.  Kinda bummed me out, but I just read and lounged on the sofa, instead.  SEs don't seem quite as bad this time (although I'm having a heck of a time with neuropathy this time around, my hands are totally of another body!).  I think my switch from "I can do chemo and everything else" to "I think I'll just rest for a couple of days after chemo" was the ticket.  I'll save all the energetic stuff for the end of this week and the next two weeks.  I will say I am so totally and completely exhausted, tho.  I'm starting to believe the folks who say the exhaustion is cumulative...

Hints from this experience:  talked to my onc about using Claritin for the bone pain.  He urged me not to use it because one se I'm having trouble with is the dryness in my nose (it bleeds), my eyes, and my skin.  He thought the Claritin would make that worse.  So if you're having dryness issues, you may want to think about that.  This time around I was "weaned" off the decadron.  Last 2 times I took 2 pills 2x a day for the day before, day of and day after.  It seems to me that several of us are doing that here.  Well, he added one pill on days 3 and 4 in the morning and I took 1/2 pill in the morning on day 5.  It might be my imagination, but I didn't seem to crash and burn so badly this time (we'll see how today goes, as its the first day with no decadron), and my bone pain wasn't quite as bad (maybe I'm just getting used to it).  Anyway, for those troubled by the crash and burn of steroids, there's another idea for ya.

Maz, I'm addicted to the bonus gifts from Clinique and had saved up I don't know how much of that moisturizing lotion they have in the little sample bottles, but that stuff is working wonders on my head (not sure why I tried it in the first place, but hey!).  I've never used their lotion (I use a Neutrogena product on my face), but since I'm having trouble with peeling and dryness on my face, I thought the Neutrogena stuff that fights wrinkles (I think it has retin-a or something in it) would be too harsh, so I got out the Clinique.  Now I just slather the Clinique on my face, head and neck and I'm doing great.  It's not causing pimples, either (the first lotion I tried made me break out--not a pretty sight).

SIS Kimberly--I don't know how many times I said, "OMG!" and LOL when I saw the pic of you flying.  Thanks for a great belly laugh!

Julie--the cake is so cool!  (How did you get so smart to be able to insert stuff like that???)

Hmm.  Sorry guys, getting a little drifty (I DO wonder if that's a se from the added steroids--I've been kinda out of it since tx day and don't know why).  I find my attention span is worse than a gnat's.  So Ima go and do something else for a while.

Chocolate cake is on the counter and I'm hoping I can restrain myself till the family is around to share it with me!!!

    Oh happy day!!

    Good Morning Ladies-

    FIRST: Happy Birthday to you.

    Happy Birthday to you.

    Happy Birthday, dear D1

    Happy Birthday, to you!!!!

(Be oh so glad you weren’t hearing me sing that. Hahaha)

What Clinique moisturizer are you using? I’ve been using Oil of Oley sensitive skin with 15spf on face and neck…haven’t used it on my head though.

I agree that resting more is the ticket…and since it is your b-day, you can do anything you want.

Again, so glad I could give you a big ole belly laugh…and that you other gals have enjoyed SuperGirl’s first photo shoot.

Good luck CathyCa and CHJ today. Wear your FUBC shirts proudly!!!

Carol- Glad to hear your Sunday ended on a somewhat lighter note…a celebration of life. We did that for my mom…no funeral…and it really was a celebration with lots of tears and laughter. Hope you got a good night’s sleep…5am is pretty early.

Diana63- Hey, I remember using a Phisoderm as a kid. I should get some of that when I’m at the store today.

CarolC- You sound good…I hope you don’t have se’s worse than you’ve experienced. That would be awesome…and keep you in a position to keep working. Stay away from sickies and stay warm.

CathyCa- I’ll be talking to my oncologist Thursday about the massaging to break down scar tissue and Mederma for the scars themselves prior to radiation. Thanks for the tip.

Kathy- I’m so glad you’re feeling good this morning. And it is warm here, but that pic of me flying is over the high desert area of Pizona where I did a wild mustang count with the University of Davis a couple years ago. It was an awesome trip…riding all day, hanging out with horses, my older sis, and the dh, and meeting other like minded folks.

We have 120 acres in Northern, Ca near Susanville,Ca, and we’ve got wild mustang roaming our property…which butts up to a huge BLM property that extends almost to Canada.

Wendy-Welcome to the Jewels…if you haven’t had a chance to read through from the start…it would get you caught up and give you an idea of the wonderful women you’ve got yourself hooked up with here. And, we’ve got t-shirts, so let golfer know if you want in on one…they’re great.

Today, I wait from 10-2 for the delivery of our new fridg (counter depth stainless steel) and washer and dryer ( new LG that is so cool it knows how much water, the temp it needs, if the clothes are clean based on the rinse water- if not it does another cycle- and spins so fast when it is done that clothes are almost dry before hitting the dryer...money saving.) The house we bought as an investment for my son to live in will close today and needs a fridg and washer and dryer, so darn, I had to get newer stuff for me. HaHaHa. And of course, I need to take advantage of this sun and get out for another walk.

    Hello Jewels!

Happy Birthday D1!!  Wishing you many, many more!!  Skol!

    Kimberly, love the pics!

Wendy, welcome!  Honestly, the shaving can be liberating -- you're in control!

Thinking of all of you facing tx this week...may it be over before you know it!

Julie, took your advice and rested all weekend!!  I'm feeling particularly (unusually/guardedly) good today, considering it's day 4 after tx #3.   I'm hoping by Friday, I will still be in a good place and my loving dh and I can go have a Valentine's dinner out -- minus the sicky crowds!!  Unfortunately, the taste buds are not appreciating chocolate, so, I told him to forget that gift...it would be a waste!  And, what's worse than wasting fine chocolate?!?!?!  Surprised

Take care all, will check up later.

I'm back...heck, the delivery guy just called. Their lift on the truck is broken, so we had to reschedule for Wed. between 9 and 1pm. Shoot!

Tina...hey, day 4 and feeling guardedly good...impressive. By Friday, day 8, you should be feeling much more energetic....but I agree the taste buds will leave your dinner choices limited? I love a good dark chocolate once in awhile, which still tastes good to me, but wine until the end of the third week isn't good at all. I tried a taste of the Syrah at dinner with the girls before the ballet on Sat. night, and it wasn't good...not that it wasn't good...my taste buds didn't like it...so sad. My girlfriends said, Oh, no it's just you. This is great, and went on to enjoy a glass without me. Sigh!!!!

Hi Jewels! It's snowing/sleeting in good ol' southern IL this afternoon - they're predicting up to five inches of the white stuff - we'll see!

CathyCA and CHJ - hope all goes well with your infusions today! Go get ‘em, girls!

CarolC - so glad you're feeling okay after tx #2. I'll keep my fingers crossed that you've already had the worst of it. Hope it goes well at work today.

Kimberly - LOVE the SHERO pics!!!! Sorry the delivery people rescheduled - I hate when that happens!! I've been getting migraines since I was 12. I'm pretty sure they're caused by my crazy hormones - I have never had a "regular" cycle and did not have a migraine the entire time I was pregnant with my son. I was told they would probably improve when I had my hysterectomy, but they actually got worse! I take two meds daily to "prevent" them, but when they come on, I have three different forms of Imitrex that I take. It usually helps if I catch it early enough. Just another "ailment" I wish doctors could figure out - it's very frustrating!

KathyL - you're sounding "chipper!" Glad you're doing okay! More power to ya with the treadmill! I don't plan to go near mine for a while - I can barely get enough energy to walk from my bedroom to the couch!

Welcome Wendy! You have definitely found the place to be. We have

some wonderful ladies here who are so supportive and caring. I am also triple negative - I actually just recently read about Avastin being used for us triple negs. I'll be interested to hear how it goes for you.

    D1 - hope you're having a GREAT b-day!!! Enjoy your chocolate cake!

Tina - so glad you're feeling well and rested!! Hopefully you'll get to enjoy that V-day dinner with the hubby!! My next tx is Thursday, so we'll probably be celebrating on Wednesday night instead.

Diana - good tip on the Phisoderm! I might try that too.

Well, I ventured out in the snow earlier today to meet with my oncologist. He is changing up my meds a bit and also wants me to return to the center the Wednesday after my treatment to get another infusion of Aloxi to hopefully head off the vomiting episodes. Let's hope it works!!

Take care, Jewels - I'll check back in later!

Well, yes, I made it through chemo uneventfully.  My counts were just fine, and I did wear my shirt.  Excuse the refuge/lumberjack getup - it was COLD here today, so I overdressed (long johns, flannels).  I feel fine NOW.  I'll go back for my first experience with Neulasta tomorrow.  Thanks all for the well wishes!

It is a chilly evening here and I hear that IL snow is heading our way, Julie. A "snow day" would be welcome tomorrow--I really need to catch up on my sleep...  I spent most of last night coughing and hacking. I practically OD'd on codeine and still couldn't stop! Looks like my feel good days between Tx 2 and 3 are gonna be nonexistent. Oh well, c'est la vie!

Kimberly- great pics. Love the Flying Shero pic! LOL

Joan- good to hear from you. I didn't do anything to my hair until it started falling out in bunches. When it gets to that stage, I think you'll just be happy to be rid of the nuisance of having hair everywhere!

Jenny- looking good as a Bald Babe, sister! Your daughter is adorable!!

Wendy- welcome to Jewel Land. I'm a triple neg. too. I believe there are at least a half dozen of us here (me, Julie, CarolC, Therese/TexRN, WVgirl... anybody else?) There is a thread just for Triple Negative info on this website--I check in there regularly. I have read about the Avastin trials. Will be interested to learn more about your experiences with that.

Kathy- happy treadmilling! Glad you're feeling good today.

Tina- glad you're feeling well today

D1- here's hoping that chocolate Bday cake is glorious tonite!

CHJ- I'm with you on the layers. My chemo suite is a bit chilly! Glad your treatment went well. Neulasta #2 for me has been uneventful--a couple of aches and pains, but nothing noteworthy.

Kris- tomorrow is your turn. Hope you have a smooth treatment!

    Have a good evening all...

    Paula
