Oh AE - so sorry to hear that you are facing another biopsy. Why do some breasts do this! The calcs are most probably benign but it's still a worry for you and no fun to have to be poked and prodded with needles again. Will you have a core biopsy or will they want to do a lumpectomy? I'm sending you my warmest thoughts.
Hugs,
Jane xxx
-
Jane,
Thanks Jane. If the bs does anything, she'll do a core biopsy. She might want to just play the waiting game, we'll see. The waiting begins..............
-
Livesstrong - sorry to hear you may have to have another biopsy but your user names says it all you LIVE STRONG. I am sure you will be able to handle whatever it turns out to be. Here is me sending you hugs and positive thoughts that everything will be fine.
And to all the other STRONG ladies here BIG BEAR HUGS to all of you.
-
AE, that so sucks about the new calcifications. I am going to cross my fingers and toes that they are just harmless specs.
Also, thank you to whomever posted Robin's runway piece from GMA. She was diagnosed about a day before I was. I thought, if she can get through it, so can I... and now look at her go!
I always do that when I think something is rough... like when I was pregnant the first time and sick to my stomach for the entire nine months all day and night... (and on lots of drugs--I'm amazed my son turned out OK)... One of my dear friends has cerebral palsy and she'd had her baby a year before me. She is one of the tiniest, sweetest, most frail bodies ever--and she'd had a baby. I thought if she can do it, so can I. She was my inspiration -- well that and my mom who had six babies and was sick as a dog through it all too.
I'm so inspired by how brave our sisters who have fought BC are.
Really, truly, we can say we have faced one of the biggest fears and met it head on the best we can.
I'm truly less afraid. I guess I can be thankful for that 'side effect' of this 'bootface'.
-
AE, I'm so sorry! What a pain!!! You said you had some "stuff" show up on your last mammo. Did you have to have a biopsy then? I hope you can get in to see the bs sooner. Waiting is so frustrating.
I'll say extra prayers for you and send tons of positive thoughts your way! Keep us posted.
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
AE sorry to hear about the calcifications again. Your radiologist sounds like mine when they said I had problems for the third time.
Jane, about the storms across Arkansas and Tennessee, Tuesday my DH was supposed to drive to Jackson TN for a delivery on Wednesday morning, Tuesday afternoon the dispatcher changed his delivery schedule and stopped him in Nashville (130 mi east of Jackson). He was outside Nashville when the tornados hit Jackson. He told me that in a 2 mile section of highway between Memphis and Jackson there were 12 semi trucks flipped on their sides because of the high winds. I was saying a prayer of thanksgiving that the dispatcher changed his delivery schedule.
It seems that I have all the excitement when it comes to loved ones in harms way. Thanks for all the prayers for my family.
Sheila
-
Wow Sheila! That's incredible. How lucky for you that your dh's schedule was changed. He must have had a guardian angel looking out for him.
Wren, I have the same sort of connection with Robin Roberts. I was watching GMA the morning she announced her bc. Later that morning, I had an appt with my gyn to show her my lump. She had the same surgery and treatments as me, but she was always a step ahead of me. She's really been an inspiration for me.
Take care ladies!
Hugs to all,
Karen

Hi Everyone!
I just got off the phone with Lisa and am reporting in--her internet is down so Olivia could not update us.
Lisa is home and doing well. She is resting, she had just showered and has a nice electric recliner to use--what a difference that makes after TRAM surgery.
She sends her love to all and said she will be calling the cable company to get the internet back up and will be reporting in herself soon.
Hope everyone is well!
-
Hi Sue
!Its 11:00pm there , so I hope you are getting some much needed rest.xxx My onc told me the same thing about my periods. I got them throughout chemo. But when I started tamoxifen , then it stopped , and I haven't had one since Aug.. So I think they tell us that , so if it stops , it won't be a shock. I have read other ladies that had their periods too. So , who knows... Sue , I sometimes wish I would have had a bilateral too. At the time though , I felt why should I when all appeared OK with my left breast. Now , the worry game at times , makes me wish it wasn't there to worry about! I try not to go there mentally. Whats done is done. And most of the time , I am glad I didn't. But my recon breast is bigger than my left. When I go back for nipple recon , I will see if he will do anything to fix it.
I hope you got to watch AI. I think they are in Hollywood next week , aren't they? I like when the competition starts. Hope your work day goes fast tomorrow. Then Sunday , your day of rest.ahhh And oh my gosh Sue , I just thought , this is February , only three more months till May! It will go fast and soon , you will be done with chemo and spring will be hear. And they you get to hear me complain of my ache'in back , from the yard work and spring cleaning!lol Love ya Sue.xxxx
-
I think I missed everyone again. Sometimes I wish the earth was flat and the time differences weren't there!
Jane - thank you so much for updating us. Lisa - you're home! How wonderful! Can't wait to hear from you. Hope you are getting lots of rest and tlc and your discomfort is not to bad.
Am thinking of you AE. It's not fair that you have to have this worry again. Please keep us posted. You are very loved.
Poor tired Sue. I think that you have not had good quality sleep for some time and your body is telling you to rest and sleep as much as possible. It will aid healing and give you underlying strength in preparation for you next treatments. Big hugs and warm thoughts coming your way.
My middle son arrived home for a short visit last night. It was so great to catch up with him. And my youngest son's girlfriend came to dinner - I will really be sad if he does not end up marrying this sweet girl. She is the epitome of everything a mother could want in a daughter-in-law.
I am trying to finish a baby blanket so I can send it with my sister to her daughter whose baby is due soon. I am not the best knitter and I hope it doesn't end up looking too "home made". At least it will be warm! I love knitting - it's like a soothing meditation.
Love to everyone,
gb

Hi Karen , so glad to hear the good news. Finally , someone called! Gosh , if they only knew how we hate to wait.
No , I didn't know , or don't remember , that you wanted to be a nurse. I think thats great. I have thought of becoming a nurse most of my life , but never did. My dad offered to put me through nursing school when I was out of high school. I wish I would have done it. Now , I feel I am to old to do it. I think you will make a fabulous nurse.xxxx
Auntie Em , I'm so sorry you are yet , going through this once again. Did you have a biopsy for previous cals? They seem to be such a bother for women who have had the bootface , but are usually nothing. My gyn said the older women get , the more calcifications we get. But they have to follow up. I hope it is nothing , but very good docs doing what they are suppose to. Valerie , you are such a sweetheart , I hope you know how dear to all of us you are. You are in my daily prayers. Try not to stress to much. I know it is hard not to. Sending you all my positive vibes.xxxx
Lisa , you're home , yeah!!!! I hope you will feel better as each day passes. Olivia was so sweet to come and post and keep us all updated on your progress. Sorry to hear your computer is down. Can't wait to hear from you again. We miss you!xxxx Love , and , as Shirlann would say "gentle hugs" to you.xxxx
Shirlann , I miss you. I hope Walt is doing better. Big , big hugs to you and Walt. I am praying for Walt daily. Please let us know when you can , how things are going. Love you Shirlann.xxxx
Hi Sheila , I'm so glad to here your DH is OK. I called my family , who live in McMinnville Tn. which is about 70 miles SE of Nashville. They are all OK. That was so scary and tragic for so many people. Tornadoes are such a devastating thing. We had a "micro burst" hit our house a few years ago , it brought down a tree , on top of our cars , but that was all. I ran to the basement when that happened. I can't imagine what a full force tornado would be like. So scary. My prayers are with all those touch by this devastation.xxxx
Jane , thanks for the update on Lisa. Hope all is well with you and your loved ones.xxxx
Ulla honey , where are you? You know what worry warts we all are! I hope you are OK , and will post soon.xxxx
Hi gb , hope you and your sister are having a good visit.xxxx
Md mouse , thanks for the bear hugs , right back at you!!xxxx
Hi Wren , wow , pregnancy is hard enough , but to be sick for nine months , oh my! God bless your girlfriend and her baby. People like that are such a true inspiration in our lives and I thank God for them.
And as "bittersweet" as it is , I'm glad you can make a positive from bootface. xxxx
Hi to all my sweet sisters.xxxx
-
Hi gb! So glad you got to visit with your son. I love when my son is home for a visit. He calms me so. All seems so right with the world when he is in mine. He has been seeing a girl for two years now. They are moving in together this summer. She is so sweet. I know how you feel , I hope they stay together. They seem like best friends. I think thats great. But we all know life doesn't always go how we want. I hope your son and his girlfriend stay together too.
gb , I'm sure the baby blanket will be just lovely. She will be so happy that her auntie made her such a special gift!xxxx And homemade gives it that special touch!
-
Hi Mel!
Your son and his girlfriend sound like great people. I hope they will be right for each other - it's good that they are best friends as well. Sometimes it seems that the right people meet but the timing is wrong or they aren't as well suited as they appear. We so want our children to be happy don't we? I think mine are wary of marriage and are leaving it much later than their parents did to settle down. Well, if that helps them mature and make wiser decisions, it's a good thing. I just fell into marriage the first time without a mature thought in my head!
Karen, I think you will make a great nurse! Your maturity and life experience will give you so much empathy and understanding. Lucky patients of the future!
I am soooo tired today. I just want to curl up in my bed and sleep. The rain on the roof and the cooler temperatures...very conducive to hibernating.
Thinking of everyone as I knit.
Hugs,
Jane

I'm getting ready to hit the hay, but I just had to check in for news on Lisa. Welcome home, Lisa!!!!! I'm so happy to hear that you're recoving comfortably. We missed you so much.
I mailed Nordie's at Noon today. You should be receiving it Monday or Tuesday at the latest. Enjoy it! I'm sure you'll be able to relate so much to the women in the story.
Take care, everyone. Have a wonderful weekend.
Love and hugs,
Karen
-
Good morning ladies. Hope everyone is off to a good start this weekend. gb , sounds like good sleeping weather to me! We are suppose to get high winds , single digit temps and snow today and tomorrow.Yuck! But I much rather have it on the weekend when I don't have to drive in it.
Lisa , hope your recovering well. I would like to give nordies a read when you are done with it.
I bet Oliver was so happy to see his mama again. I'm sure he will help you in your healing process. Just looking at his sweet little face would put a smile on mine!

Hi everybody, I can't stay away from all my dear sisters! Walt is staying about the same, he feels just fine 99% of the time, and when the horizon tilts, he still feels fine, just that he leans to straighten out the sky and falls over. Shesssh. Always something.
Next week we go see what happened with his tests. One test, a foot pedal pulse, we went for the test, he called the doc to see what the results were (this is a different issue) and the hospital said we were never there! Oh man, I love modern medicine!
Hey sweet Sue, I read you were feeling better! I hope you still are. And Ulla, you sound better too. I will be so grateful when you two are out of the chemo hole. Keep climbing! Dear ones.
Hugs, SHirlann
-
Thank you for the update Shirlann. I'm sorry to hear that Walt is still having the dizzy spells. I hope they can find out soon what it is and that something can be done to make him better.
Hi to Mel (brrrr - sounds cold there! Love to all
Jane

To all you sweet ladies....

Sue & Lisa,
I sent you both a message. I met a girl named Hannah. She lives in Kent England is 25 and pregnant. She was just diagnosed with BC. I was asking if you could contact her for support. If I was out of line or inappropriate I sincerely appologize. It is just that this girl touched me and needs some good people in her life at the moment. I immediately thought of you two as you both live in England.
All, please keep hannah in your thoughts and prayers as her treatment needs to wait until she delivers her baby.
thanks.

Where is everyone?????? Sure is quiet around here. Hope everyone is enjoying there weekend.
Special shout out to Lisa & Hannah.

Hi Sue
! I pm you my addy. Sue , get sleep whenever you can. I know it kinda knocks you off your routine , but when you are doing chemo , your sleep patterns get crazy. So anytime you can nap/sleep do it! And you are off tomorrow , yeah. So sleep in.We are suppose to be getting bad weather tonight and tomorrow. I'm so glad it is happening while I am at home and don't have to go anywhere. But we are suppose to have wind gusts over 50 miles per hour. So I get to worry about the tree falling. Hope your having a relaxing bath. xxxx
