dh and i didn't decide to go to pinkstock last year until just a week or so before .... i was just so afraid something would come up and ruin the plans .... we had a great time .... only problem was we didn't bring enough avocados ...
-
Nicki,
I want to meet you and all the gals, but unless Mr. Tim hits more than ONE number on the lotto, I don't think I can swing it. I sure wish I knew you when I was at O'Hare for 15 hours in June!!! But, I'm completely blessed that I know you now.
love,
Bren

Am I the only crazy one spending money I don't have to come and meet these wonderful women? I will just keep praying for lots of sales between now and then. Actually my plane tickets were from air point miles. I also get to visit my family while I am there. Oh, I just want you all to come.
-
BMD -- the memories you will have will more than make up for the financial sacrifice. Its worth it.
-
Yes, the memories are priceless
-
All are welcome and the memories will be wonderful!! Do I need to re-post some pictures to get us motivated????
Jenni....avacados..a must!
Christine: You have to come to mush the avacados for us!
More later

I don't have the money either Brenda. I would sell my car or even go back to work
in order to get to go though. The memories and friendships you get are worth it.
-
I'm thinking of a way Liz ... I may have to pimp out Mr. Tim!
-
Once MB said there would be a car show in the area that week-end my dh is happy to go.
-
Been gone a while, but very excited to see plans for Pinkstock 08. Talked to DH and are planning to be there this year. (Hope none of our children decide to get that week-end.) Haven't sent in our form yet. Will do that soon. We'll be towing our pop-up camper, and probably be taking the turnpike. We might have room for a hitchhiker or two. Would love the company on the ride.
I was sad to miss out last year. Son #2 got married that week-end. The mother of the groom really couldn't go missing. So glad to see plans moving right along for this year.
As always, Laura

Hi MB,
Keep in mind I'm in So. VA on the NC border.
I checked flights yesterday ... $250 round trip to Buffalo from Greensboro (not bad), hotels $350 (bad). Drive 550 miles one way(not too bad). Might need to rent a car, as not too sure about my old truck. Camper offer might work as long as I can bathe once in awhile, and have lots of coffee and there is a smoking section!! (even if it is out in the woods)
I'll talk to Tim about it again. I really don't want to miss it. I think I can figure a way w/o having to put Mr. Tim on the street corner!!
Can you hold a camper spot for me for a little while why I try to figure this out? If not, that's okay. Maybe I can get NNN to go and share a smoking room at the hotel with me!! (Hint, hint, hint .. Ms. NNN, and if we can get Naniam to go with us, we could get her a gas mask or something so our smoke wouldn't kill her!)
-
Bren,
Found flight out of CHarlotte a little cheaper (at least it was weeks ago) - can come here and spend the night. Rental car might not be bad if several can go together. I don't camp - smoking might be the problem - lots of smoke gives me headaches sorry!!!!
Brenda
-
Gotcha Brenda ...
We'll figure something out my friend. I'm more than happy to do a non-smoking room!! Tim's smoking drives me nuts and I smoke (just not very much).
We'll talk about it after your scans tomorrow. Love you gal!
Bren
-
Bren... smoking may be an issue in the Hotels... think most are smoke free in NY..?... any way I have lots of room and smoking outside is not an issue...and of course I will hold a "room" for you...remember they don't cost you anything...
Please don't miss out because of hotel fees....and yes I DO have a bathroom that you can shower in...lol... not totally outback style....oh yeah and electric too.....
Hugs my friend...
-
Oh heck MB .. I lived on a commune when I was wayyy younger and we showered outside from a hose hooked up to a well. And we had to dig our own outhouse! It's just that I'm really old now!! Smoking really is no big deal. I don't smoke around non-smokers.
I haven't given up hope yet!!
Hugs back at ya!
-
LOL that Crazy Bob is already preparing! I'm waiting to see how many husbands are going before I decide if I'm going to come stag or drag the guy along!!
Bren: If you can get there you won't really need a car..............trust me, there is no where to go once you hit the big city of Ishua (sp..to lazy to look it up!) and there will be enough cars to get you to a hotel and store!!
Hugs,
Neesie
-
Denise... good thing I know that wasn't a SLAM about my Ischua...lol...
she's right nowhere to go...
OMG but I forgot they are making our Walmart a super Walmart...whoo hoo...might be done when you get here...lol...
MB
PS.. sorry about the guy thing... my poor DH fell fast asleep under the tent... i can't understand why he was so tired.. he promised to do better this year, besides not so much to do first...lol... hugs
-
MB: Definitely not a slam! Your hill is beautiful! The guy thing..........my DH actually enjoyed himself last year....which surprised me cuz he's such a busy body! It was a nice trip last year cuz we drove and took our time (something else he doesn't usually do!) Just don't want to bring him if It's going to be a "girls retreat!"
Actually, he left there with a whole new meaning of our friendships here!
Outside of Kroger and a new Target, I have to drive about 15 minutes in any direction to hit civilization!!
Hugs,
Neesie
-
My husband is coming. It's close to our anniversary, so after the weekend, we may decide to go somewhere special. Gary really likes meeting new people. The men will be old friends in no time at all.
As always, Laura
-
Hey Laura, If all works out it looks like MI will be well represented this year!!
Kay is talking about going also!
Neesie
-
It looks like I'll be back this year!
No def plans yet, but I can not imagine missing it.
Just count me in as the Guac Girl, whether or not we get JenniCa's avocados!
-
Oh and MB, about the mass. Although, I try to attend Cath. mass every week, I didn't mind missing at all last year, after the non-denom. service on the the hill. I think if anyone believed in anything, especially our sisterhood, it was represented there. I know my higher power recognized that. It was awesome! Thanks for that and everything else again.
-
My dh and ds's are coming. I know I have mentioned that about a gillion times. We are all excited. My dh is a very friendly guy. He loves to meet new people but I am sure he is very happy there will be other men there.
-
Brenda... DH was so worried last year he barely left...lol.. but hopes to find someone to go to the car show this year... I usually go with, there is one not too far Sat and a local one Sunday...
Christine I'm sure Sandra would love to come back if you think she did a good job...?....
Ok waiting to hear backfrom the massage lady....
part of one meal set up...
working on the stage.... and PA system...
hmmm... wonder if its too early to order porta potties....
hugs the nut on the hill
