Thanks for letting us know, Jan!
Here's one of mine that I took last summer at the Old Mill gardens.
-
Thanks for the update Jan. I never read that thread but thanks for letting me know.
Wow Jaz pretty picture. Nice colors. Can't wait to see what you can do with your new camera. Don't you know you arent supposed to read the book until you have problems? lol

Thanks Amy. I'm one of those anal retentives that ALWAYS reads the instruction manual first. Weird, huh? I was really big into amateur photography years ago but got busy with finishing my degree and then with breast cancer treatment so I'm really excited to pick it back up again. I can't wait to play with this new camera this weekend. That picture was taken with my old digital that doesn't have nearly the nice telephoto and macro abilities of this one.
-
Wild/Jan: Nobody would ever consider your magnificent photo's clutter! I'm going to miss seeing them.
Hey Amy: Good to see you. Thanks, swoooosh always does do that! LOL How are you feeling today?
Jaz: Wow, that is a Gorgeous picture! Regarding the anal retentiveness, you wouldn't happen to be a Virgo would you? LOL
-
Nope, not Virgo. Is that one of the characteristics?
-
swoooosh? inquiring minds want to know. I could use a good nights sleep!
Amy - we are at least back below freezing, but now everything is an icy mess. We need 3 or 4 inches of new snow so we can get out and enjoy again. there is something wrong with a world where it is colder in 'Bama than in Alaska

WOW that is a beautiful flower picture AlwaysHope! Well maybe you can share your photos here while I put mine in that other thread? I read that quick read pamphlet first and then when I was ready to start trying the other features on the camera I got out that thick booklet to see what else I can try. DH pulled out the old 35mm he had bought years ago and I said geesh this thing doesn't have hardly anything extra on it compared to this new digital camera.
AMY>I don't know how you do it taking chemo and working!
-
Jas ... Yes, I'm a Virgo and anal-retentiveness is one of our characteristics ... I can vouch that it's true! What Is your sign?
Deb ... Let's just say that I'm recovered from all my surgeries enough and Karl is a happy man again!
-
Angel -- I'm Aquarius. My anal retentive tendencies are probably why I really like the Monk show. When I watch that I realize...it could be worse! I don't like to rearrange my furniture or cabinets. Everything has been in the same spot in my house since the day I moved in over 10 years ago.
-
good day family....
Wild I love your phots...keep them coming...on the weekends, I just go get a blue drink while they down load...lol....
AMy.. so glad your are here.. I am doing fine... making lists for PINKSTOCK and trying to be with my mom....but have lots of spare time other than that...lol... hugs my friend...
Deb...snow to my knees on the hill... are your sure you wouldn't like to visit with the family for a snow weekend...lol... stay warm...
Angel... thanks for asking...mom is more stubborn than I am.(if you can imagine that). so its a battle to keep her positive...lol...but got to love her...
OK missing way to many but work is crazy....
hugs A to Z and know I keep you in my thoughts and prayers...
shokk glad you came out of the closet to say hi...
-
hello everyone just stopped by to say i made it through my birthday yesterday i never thought i would see 53 but i did i am suppose to go fro tests today but the roads are icy so had them set up for next week trying to find out why my liver enzymes are doubled wish me luck deb from ky
-
Deb-Swoosh-clear your mind, total relax. You know,,,just swoooshhh and let it all go. For real about the weather. Oh and I got another alaska thing happening. We have a bear on our property. SO has heard it and neighbor down the road has seen in and we have saw where it has been. There is not supposed to be bears in bama. I felt a little like you the other day when I looked and beside the door was the shotgun. Now mind you I wouldnt just shoot for no reason but if a bear is causing danger I want it away from my house.
Amy
-
Hi Deb-happy belated Birthday. You will be around for many more cause you are gonna continue to fight this nasty beast.
Amy
-
Jan -- thanks. Nope, on the old 35mm you had to buy the extra lenses to do zoom and macro. I have a big ole humongous macro lense for my canon 35 mm. Its so heavy that you really have to use the tripod to get clear pics. Plus, I'm a weakling. I wobble all over the place, especially with a big heavy lense.
-
Jas ... Oh wow, that is anal!
I Love Monk too and understand a bit of the OCD tendencies! I'm not too bad with them but Audrey has them a bit! It's a nice personality quirk as long as it's not too extreme!
MB ... Hugs for you and your Mom. I know this is a hard time. Blue drinks sound good!
SloaneDeb ... Happy Belated Birthday! You will keep fighting so you can see many more!
Deb ... What Amy said also about swooooosh ... let it all go and find peace
Amy ... I forgot about your bear! I think I'd be on edge all the time if I had one on my property.

Good morning chicas...........Gina it is Wednesday and time for Project Runway..........my oldest daughter got me watching that show while I was doing chemo almost two years ago......jeez time flys when your having fun.............hey Ames don't worry sweetie I never feel like you leave me out........even when I'm stuck in my closet.......
...........praying for your scans to bring you good news.............well Jas going to go down memory lane with you which for me is not easy.............both of my parents are from Arkadelphia and I spent most of my vacations, weekends, summers there............my grandmother had remarried a lawyer and lived in a big house just off the Ouachita College campus.......just a block from downtown.......would walk to the "Rexall" which had a soda fountain and get a "cherry phosphate" .....my brother and I would go down to the Ouachita river and fish for crawdads and my grandmother would steam them......we just loved that..........so anyway my mom graduated from Ouachita and my dad graduated from Henderson........last time I was in Arkadelphia the tornado had gone through downtown but my grandmother's house survived.........so Jas I must admit I do feel a certain bond with you.........being from Arkansas........
.....not every one can be a Texan........
........phone brb.......Shokk
-
That's a nice area, Shokk. Would you believe I've lived here all my life and never had a crawdad.
-
Aww jaz why not? Nothing like a good crawdad.
Ames
-
LOL...I don't eat anything that isn't stamped 'USDA Approved'.
-
Ok I know I have missed some girls......I care about all of you but quickly I must do just a little bragging about my youngest daughter.......she belongs to the "Greater Dallas Youth Orchestra" which is extremely competitive and must audition for.......she is in the
"Wind Symphony" and there is only three chairs for "oboes" .....she made third chair and out of 45 kids there are only three freshmen....the other two oboist are juniors and have two years ahead of her in experience......anyway they played last night with the "Dallas Wind Symphony" and it was truly amazing.......I don't think I have ever been so proud.........one of the songs they did was the "Star War" theme song.......ya'll this child was diagnosed when she was 3 of having "Selective Mutisum"........she would not speak outside of our home.......it goes way beyond of being shy......she doesn't like to be touched, hard to make eye contact.......some doctors refer it to being "autistic light"..........music has changed her life........she has close friends.......when she was about 4 years old she had a childhood friend (they were born 5 days apart and her mother and I were best friends) we were at the McDonald's play ground and we were leaving and her friend threw her arms around my daughter and hug her and my daughter just froze......her little friend starting yelling at her mom "Kim won't hug me".......I looked at my daughter and she had this single tear running down her cheek......she simply could not bring herself to return the hug.......it broke my heart that she was in such pain emotionally.......anyway fast forward to six grade (she had a lot of speech therapy in elementary school where she got to a point to were she was able to talk to a few friends) here comes a music teacher that would change her life and by the way is a bc survivor and we have the same bc specialist and had been ned for 10 years and just found out last year she has mets to her bones........she took my daughter.....taught her self discipline.......dedication......always try and be the best..........she now has lots of friends......she is extremely quiet but she is happy...........ok guys so sorry this went on for so long........Shokk.....I am just so freaking proud of her.......... -
Wow Shokk...that truly is a miracle for you and your daughter. What a touching story. Gentle hugs.
-
Jas...........you have never eaten crawdad.........you cook them boiled or steamed and then you break them in two and suck the brains out and eat the tail..............
..................jeez Ames......now I need to go eat lunch at "Razoo's"..........
-
Well you can always look for the smoking kind of crawdads. hehehe!
-
Blue......ha...........
-
Shokk -- you mean they have restaurants that sell crawdads?
-
Jas........
........I'm not sure if you are in Little Rock or where you are in Arkansas but sweetie you can probably go to your neighborhood catfish resturant and get crawdad......were is Madison when you need her..........girls who ever is going to North Arkansas get together someone has to promise me that Jas is going to eat some crawdad (if your going).......
-
LOL...unless they serve crawdad at Wendy's, it looks like I'll just have to dream.
-
They are crawfish (also know as mud bugs
).
They are served in restaurants........boiled, fried, in etouffe.
We cooked crawfish etouffe at home Sunday.........YUM.......YUM
We have crawfish ponds in our area so we have really, really fresh crawfish.
A big crawfish boil is great..........beer, boiled crawfish (with potatoes and corn)..........and friends..........
-
Madison...........have to spend a small fortune on crawfish here......sometimes they are fresh and sometimes they are not.....when I was kid my dad would pack us in the car and just head for Louisiana for some fresh Cajun..........ok guys got to run......Shokk
-
yeah Jaz I could go have crawdads for lunch within a mile of here where I am and I don't mean on the local creek bank. Lots of work for a lil piece of meat but they are good.
Shokk-wow, thats an excellent story and so glad you shared it here. Nothing wrong with bragging and not only bragging thats a heartfelt story also.
