Hey Vickster:
I've got quite a few squares here..............forgot Monday was a federal holiday...........was going to mail them to Madison, but will gladly split them up...........let me know if you want some!
Hugs,
Denise

Hey Liz - I don't know which way you hold your hook, but take a look at the photos in the link below. It shows both methods for holding the hook. I find that if I switch back and forth, I have less swelling from my LE when I crochet. I also sit with a pillow under my right arm, and that helps. I don't know if any of those things will help your wrist, but it can't hurt
After you give your wrist a break, it might help to switch things up...

Thanks for the link Deb. I also have been having some wrist pain and LE problems when I crotchet
. I do the pencil hold according to those pics. Will have to try the knife hold.
Lori- So glad you recieved your wonderful package of hugs. I cried a lot when I got mine too!!!

newvickie - i have a box of squares that i'll mail out tuesday for you .....
-
Deb - thanks kiddo. It's not my right wrist which I hold the hook. It's my left and it's caused from movement of the thumb. It's a stupid thing! I can border and put them together while wearing the brace so I'm doing that. That's a cool site. Thanks for sharing.

Wow...just beautiful, Madison!
My sweetheart niece, Shelby (12 yrs.), is here for the weekend (tomorrow's a holiday) and I taught her how to chrochet! She is really doing very well with it. I took her to the store and she picked out a skein of rainbow yarn and has been at it for the last 3 hours!
-
Wow! These are gorgeous. It's inspired me to pick up a crochet needle and some yarn again after eons! I sat and reviewed my single crochet techniques last night. I was getting the right size of rows but the edges weren't real straight. Guess I need to review my techniques a bit more, eh, when it comes to the turning part. LOL Anyway, these afghans are just lovely and the whole project is such a great idea. I'll get this figured out yet!
Keep up the great work ladies!
Rita

What a great project. I can crochet but it's been awhile I think I can still pick it up if you don't mind me joining your project?
-
Kathy, anyone can join.
The squares are 7x9.
Here is the link for the squares
http://www.warmupamerica.com/join.htmlLet me know if you need any furthur information.
Oh, we only use washable yarn........we always wash the afghan before sending to anyone and want them to have the ability to also wash the afghan.
Thanks, Madison
-
Neesie, you deserve one.
Madison, I've got my sister hooked - now she is making squares. I'm too embarrassed to turn in the ones I've done until they start looking decent.
-
Thank you Madison for your help. I will see if I can't get started in the next couple of weeks. Should be fun and give a sense of productivity as well. A lovely way to help.
-
Kathy, this project gets addictive.........and we are happy to have you join us. If you have any questions, please feel free to ask. There are may here that can help you.
I am trying to finish an afghan for mailing either Tuesday or Wednesday.
Please remember that if you know of someone that needs hugs and support, e-mail me so I can put them on the list.
Thank you, Madison
-
Madison,
I pm'd youi awhile back with someone's name. I just want to remind you that I will pay the shipping when it is ready, because I cannot crochet worth a lick and want to help.

Hi all!
Margo: There is no such thing as an embarrassing square!! I think sometimes the first ones are the best!! Send it in!
I was all set to mail squares today but have run out of time to package.....I'm sorry......
Am I sending all to Madison or does Vickie need some too??
Hugs,
Neesie

I havaen't sent any squares for awhile, had some other projects to work on, but would like to get started again. Hopefully I'll have some squares ready in a week or so. I have Vickie's and Madison's addresses, do you both need them? I can try to send some to both if necessary. Let me know what would be best.

Lizw & Madison and all you lovely ladies who worked on my afghan
Thank you so much from the bottom of my heart. I was totally blown away. I cried when I opened the box and am blinking back tears now. I brought it to work with me. As some of you know, I was dx Stage 4 at the beginning w/ bone mets. on 1/16/08 nearly 3 years later there are major progressions of the bone mets to practically everywhere and now lung mets as well. And boy did I ever need that hug.
As I was reading this thread to thank you all, I ran across the picture.
"That's my afghan!!!!!!!!!!!" I immediatedly saved it to my hard drive. I can't chrochet or knit, I never had the patience to sit still and learn, but words are not adequate to tell you all what a wonderful and thoughtful gift this is.
I love you all
Helen
-
Helen, enjoy wrapping up in the afghan.
We are always here to give you hugs and support.
Madison

HELEN>thank you for giving us a little background on you as I rarely know what each of the hugaghan recipients are going through with their bc journey. I'm so glad you got one, wrap yourself up in the love and warmth we send you.
-
Helen: I am so glad you received a box of hugs from all of us. I can tell you've had a go with the beast and am glad that your special hugaghan brought happiness to you!
Hugs,
Neesie

Bren, I just opened your box of squares I got today! They are gorgeous and I will be using them today. Thanks so much.
-
Liz, Thanks so much for letting me know. I sure hoped they'd get there ... with all the bad weather. Plus, I live in the boonies and I think it's really hit or miss if the mailperson even decides to mail your stuff or not!!
Heck sometimes they don't even come to my house if it's too late in the day!!
I'm so excited to have one of my squares be in an afghan. I'm working on another box with a different color scheme.
You afghan gals that put them together and keep the list together are truly Angels of Mercy!
love,
Bren

Hey Friends!
Madison: I just packaged a box full of squares............hope the post office doesn't say it's to bulky for flat rate! Stuck a little note in there for you too.

Hugs,
Denise
Liz: I'm also mailing you the 'other' squares in the morning!
Hugs to all,
