okay...I will try the color switching w/o a knot later today. But I am a visual learner and I would love it if you would come down here and sit next to me and show me how to do it!!
I have used up all the hand me down yarn and now buying colors I like!
When I see all the beautiful designs, I get envious! Guess I better get my butt to Niagara Falls this summer to learn more!
-
Neesie,
That's wonderful ... a beautiful afghan for a beautiful lady!!
love,
Bren
-
Thanking you all for the sweet words you've had for me! Hugaghan Hugs to all of you!!

OK guys...I found a couple of links that might help with the color change directions. The first two are just for color change. The last one has lots of tips and ideas....nice photo directions

I just went to deb's posted sites, to learn how to change colors and realized the single crochet stitch that I have been doing is not exactly like the one in the step by step, single crochet stitch instructions at that site. (My friend taught me how to do it. I'm gonna kill her! LOL) Although, I don't think there's a big difference, but I want to do them the correct way. I always had trouble locating the last chain in the row and now I understand why. So I'll be practising this. And also, I noticed the majority of the squares in your latest afghan are 7wx9, so I'll do all of mine that way. Thanks.
-
I finished another afghan last night.......it is in the dryer at the moment.
I'll take pics before I box it up........
Thanks bunches.......
Laura, I am sure the squares you send will be awesome.
Hugs, Madison

LIZ>Another box will be on its way to you today!
-
Laura, trust me I'm sure they are great. You should have seen mine when I first started. Can't wait to get them. When the afghans are put together all the squares are arranged by the 7x9. Doing a square 9x7 just changes the direction of the rows. Do what you like and enjoy!
Jan - great! I have 4 rows done on another afghan and will be trying to finish it this weekend.
Thanks again for everyone's help.
-
You girls are great!
Thanks!
-
-
Madison ... that is Gorgeous! So many pretty squares and so nicely put together!
Neesie ... yea, you got a hugaghan!!! Love mine! congrats!
-
Madison - gorgeous! I know she's going to love it.
Thanks everyone!
-
(((((Neesie))))) So glad you have a hugaghan for your very own.
You deserve it!!!!

The colors on this new one are beautiful! And such pretty interesting designs!
-
Gorgeous Madison!! You're going to make another very happy!
I'm still working on squares...........have 20 or so done...............I figure I'll knit through the weekend and then send them off............sooooooooooo....who will be needing squares??? Keep in mind that I don't know how to 'weave' those blasted ends in!
Hugs,
Neesie
-
Neesie, I have some coming so maybe send them to Madison or Vickie? I'm working on one now and have 4 rows done. I'm hoping to get it finished by Monday.
-
Congrats Neesie...from what I read here...you are quite deserving. Be well! And Be Warm!
-
Madison...great job. So exciting...you girls are angels in disguise!
-
Neesie,
I have only ONE of your squares left in my "stash"........so you can send the squares my way.......Don't worry about the ends......I am a good weaver inner
Vickie, do you need Neesie to send you some also?
Hugs to all
-
I have an afghan nearly finished and I am nearly out of squares (will send it out Tuesday as there is no mail on Monday and I need a name...I do have a suggestion though and I will pm it to you)...I may be able to get half an afghan with what is left...so...you take the next stash and I'll keep working and wait for the second stash.
great job all..
Love and hugs

Wow ladies, I think we need to have our very own "afghan awards"........!! You all are whipping them out.........................Hollywood can have their Oscars, Academy and whatever else they have, but I've got 3 candidates for the the "afghan award" and I KNOW they are all WINNERS!
Madison, the squares will be on the way to you the first of the week!
Hugs,
Denise
Thanks Laura! And glad to see you have joined us!!
-
I received some squares in the mail and will border them and mail some to Liz and Vickie so we will all have a variety of patterns and styles for the afghans.
I think I'll work on bordering squares this weekend so I can mail them Tuesday (Monday is a Federal Holiday).
Hugs, Madison
-
Liz should be receiving my package o' squares, any day now. I'm nervous! LOL
-
Laura...don't be nervous...I haven't gotten a square yet that I didn't love!
Looking forward to more squares coming...lots more time to put them together now that the holidays are over...yipppee

Ladies, Ladies, Ladies.....
Yesterday, I was on the messages boards and had to stop to pick up my son from school. I opened the front door and found a box w/Liz'a return address on it.
I CRIED! I knew what was in it and let me tell you.....I don't deserve it!
I brought it inside and left to get Sean. I cried the whole time in the car. Sean thought something bad happened to me! I told him...something beautiful happen. On the way home, we went over to my husband's office and I told him what came today. He made fun of me because I couldn't open it. But I thought about it and this is why........
When I started making the sqaures, I thought (in my mind)
I was doing this for someone that is sicker than I am. I am the giver, not the receiver. So what this beautiful gesture made me realize is that I really do have stage 4 mets (duh!) and that all of you REALLY care about me.
I thank you from the bottom of my heart! And I hope someday soon we will all meet and I can personally thank you for accepting me into your circle!
((hugs))
Love, Lori
