American Idol

Okay, did anyone else watch the show last night. What did you think about the guy in the costume that got his chest hair waxed?
-
I think he's desperate for attention, any attention.
-
I missed it! Is it on tonight, too?
-
Hi Ladies xxx
I live in the UK and am sooo lookin forward to watching American Idol tomorrow night...we get it 2 days later than you ....its sooo good...I love Randy ...lol...if this thread is still going when the final is on...I will have to avoid it...as you will all know before me.... xxx
-
I found last night very entertaining! Sue..we won't spoil it for you!
That guy...as well as several others..wanted their 5 minutes of fame!
What about the "stalker" as I call him?? The one who sang that song to and about Paula?? CREEPY!!!
Bay..I know it's on another night...talent from Texas..not sure which night..but possibly tonight.
Lisa
-
that guy was creepy ... both the one who had all that hair waxed off .. and the stalker guy ... lots of other weird ones too ... how' bout the 23 year old girl that lives with her mom in the studio apt - that's studying to be a vet ... miss sparkle ?? that went off forever ... and now wants to be an actress ???
I can't imagine what it's like to be one of the screeners that is checking for talent prior to sending them on to Paula, Simon and Randy ...
what'd you think of Randy's facial hair ?? I thought he looked better without it ...
I'm an IDOL fan ... like it better when they get to Hollywood though!!
Doreen
-
Doreen...I love Idol now too...so funny!
I agree on that girl..she said she was in college and studying to be a vet?? I doubt it..she could not even speak correctly! Wow..what some people will do for their 5 minutes of fame!
What about the star wars girl?? haha...she was something else!
I like Randy better w/out the facial hair!
Lisa
-
I'm with Doreen. I like it better once they get to Hollywood.
Hubby & I usually start watching once they get down to the final 24. There's just so many people in the auditions--some are funny, and some are creepy to me also.
Are muttonchops coming back into vogue--seems to make Randy a little outdated!

Hi Ladies,
This is a great topic, I love Idol, and would love to keep this going throughout the season. I also like it much better when they narrow down the real singers, from the crazies.Nice to meet everyone here. Hope to get some good laughs. I think the girl with the sparkles and mom was just out of her mind nuts, I think Simon said she was channeling in other voices, too funny. The other odd one was the Star Wars chic, wholly cow she just kept going on and on. The guy in the belly dancer outfit was bizarre, and the other guy down right creepy as you said. My favorite is of course Simon, I just think he is adorable. Randy is stable, and Paula just so unstable that it gets uncomfortable watching her, but I keep watching anyway. How funny was it when Paula and Randy couldn't stop laughing at the tall black gentlemen with the monotone voice???? I laugh at them laughing, its good for the soul. Anyway, good to have other Idol fans, Hugs KLynn
-
That was hilarious... I was laughing too - the monotone guy ... oh my ... and he actually seemed to think that he could sing ?? I'm surprised that Simon wasn't laughing his head off too....
the star wars girl ... hmmm.... yes - she was strange too!
Lets' have some fun ... and keep this going !!!
Doreen
-
The best part was when monotone guy said next year he would try something more modern!! Like THAT would help! LOLOL My kids watch with me until they get down to the good singers, then they get bored and it is just me watching. I love the show. I would love to see some kind of a week-long contest between all the old winners and runner's up.... now THAT would be great!!
Deb C
-
Yes, I agree....let's keep this going all through the season!! That would be fun!
KLynn...I love Simon too! I actually think last night, he was pretty tame! I think he is honest, brutely so at times, and very sexy..haha.
I love it at the end as well. But this part..just makes me laugh so much!!
Good idea Deb for a week long contest between old winners and current contestants at the end!
Lisa
-
Okay who is watching Douglas right now??? The sweating guy , mumbling to himself, very hard to watch the crazies LOL. Hugs KLynn
-
This has been totally crazy. I know I cannot sing well and there is no way I would put myself in that situation. I cannot believe the people that think they can sing and come to this.

OMG--that last guy tonight--the one that was dressed like the Host from the Japanese version of Iron Chef.......... The song----the homage to Simon------It had me
ROTFWL ---all of them dancing and swaying with him-----the last 15 minutes---funnnnnnnnny!
Bet this guy becomes just as famous as William Houng a few seasons back.
-
That last guy was too funny!! You can tell some of those people are just in it for the 15 mins. of fame...the guy with the nails EWWW!!!
-
I LOVED the stalker from last night! I am tivo-ing night's show so I can skip all the commercials. I'm on the west coast so it just started a bit ago. If you watched last night and saw 'the stalker" I have some addtional lyrics that were posted on the AI site that are just hysterical. Here they are:
f I were a boat, i would dock her
I'm not creepy, I 'm just a gawker
If she were a diamond I would hock her
If she were a cheerleader I would Jock her
At school I would put her in my locker
If she loved Simon i would mock her
If she were a door I would knock her
If she were a guitar I would rock her
If she were a foot i would sock her
If she were a phone... I would talk her
If she were stir fry I would wok her
Too funny! I don't think that Simon got the joke though!!
I really liked Kristy Cook from last night. And she's from Oregon!!

Jas, Great thread! American Idol is a guilty pleasure for me! lol I missed tonights but have it on tape.
The guy with the chest hair was weird ... got on for his 15 minutes.
The stalker was CREEPY! And Paula thanked him at the end. Huh???
Uh, you don't want to thank your stalker! LOL
I Love Simon most of the time! I like his honesty and think he's a pretty good and fair judge. I don't like when he's mean though.
-
It seems like they are so much nicer this time around though, doesn't it? Especially Simon. I 've never heard him say "I like you" so many times before. The last guy tonight in the white cape was so funny.......His song will probably become a hit! LOL
-
Mariettaj, hi! Haven't 'seen' you in awhile..hope things are going well.
I love this show and enjoy the auditions the best.
If I were Paula, I'd be getting a restraining order against that guy! Very odd.
I agree, Simon seems to be much more mellow than in years past. I read somewhere that the panel isn't aware of the contestants history like we are so with editing, sometimes the comments seem really cruel.
-
I forgot it was on last night so I missed half of it.
I loved the last guy who loved Simon. I really laughed at them all being so "loving" and having fun!
Shirley
-
Oh come on you guys. The stalker was just kidding.. it was a JOKE!!! He was a sweet guy and just looking for his 15 mintes of "fame!"
-
Hi Terry!
so glad we found each other again! I just started radiation Monday and it is going well. A walk in the park compared to chemo...
I'm glad there is an american idol thread...it's such a fun show. I thought the stalker was kidding too Anne. I thought his lyrics were pretty clever.
Have a great night all!
marietta
-
Anne, Do you really think the stalker was innocent? I am not too sure about him. I am sure he did want his 5 minutes of fame!
The 2nd night, the guy with the white costume who wrote the tribute song to Simon...I agree...he will have a hit on the radio..another William Hung! He seemed so serious about his song! I cracked up when they were all dancing. I also love the girl from Oregon!
There should be lots of talent to watch for this year!
I agree on Simon being nicer this year.
xoxo

Okay friends,
Idol is on !!!!!!!!!
Be back to talk about it later! This is fun . A happy thread, takes our minds off of b/c for just alittle bit. xoxo KLynn
-
okay...... How groooooosss were the nails on Alberto Hartato, the guy with the fans, yuckkkk!! The only one that really sounded good to me was one of the last girls and the second girl. I didn't really think the nice looking guy with the ponytail and the little adorable boy was that good either, and they all raved over him. Kind of felt sorry for the two girls, the one that thought she sang like Mariah, and the other that sang Whitney, they really did believe they were good. Didn't any of these people ever record themselves and play it back?? It always sound different then you thought, that's why I will never sing in front of anyone LOL Hugs all KLynn
-
KLynn: They were Really grooooosss nails on that guy! I always think when someone comes on and says they sound like a particular artist that it's a good sign they're not going to get through! LOL I thought the Mariah girl was a bit full of herself. Yeah, I can sing Great when I have the music blasting and I'm singing along ... on tape is a completely other story! LOL
-
Last night's show wasn't nearly as entertaining as it was last week. I wasn't really impressed with anyone last night.
-
I agree jas. I get tired of the bad singers pretty quick, and I didn't hear anyone that wowwed me last night. Did anyone see how many more audition showes there are?
Deb C
-
I missed it all...except for the last girl from Ireland..I think?? She was good. Sounds like I didn't miss much!
