Geez, what is the deal with these people corrupting our wonderful community here??? They should be seriously ashamed of themselves!
How are all my sisters this morning? I'm glad you made it home safe and sound last night, Lisa. That freezing rain is horrible stuff! Our little bit of snow switched to rain late yesterday afternoon and it's been pouring ever since. It's a good day to stay inside and vegetate. Good luck finding that perfect ornament today, Lisa!
Sue, how's the noggen feeling this morning? I hope we were right, and that you feel better today after getting rid of the hair. I'm sure you have a cute little head. Mine is very small too, and my dh said the same thing--that it's "cute" bald. I don't know if I completely agree. Enjoy your day off!
Love and hugs,
Karen

Sue, do you really feel like you have the flu? I hope it's just a 24 hour thing. Don't you have a treatment scheduled for this week? I don't think they'll let you have it if you're ill.
We love you too, Sue! You're the backbone of our little "family" here. What a special lady you are to bring us all together like this. Thank you!!!
I'll say a little prayer for you tonight that you wake up feeling well in the morning.

Hey sweetie, everyone you run into has the potential of giving you some kind of crud (American for bug). So this is just the way it is. Especially working with the public as you do. So keep a small bottle of that anti-bacterial stuff with you and use it before you touch or put anything into your mouth. Keep your hands away from your face, eyes, nose.
This is the best you can do. I read one magazine article and he said the germiest thing in the restaurant is the menu! Who woulda thunk that?
Anyway, do your best, but you will get things. Your immune system is in the toilet. Just the nature of the beast.
You are doing great, honey, doing everything you can, and you will get well and we will all have a cuppa, and a pint together I PROMISE!!!
Love you little dear. Shirlann -
Hi Sue
! I'm sorry your feelin' so bad. I hope it is just a 24 hour thing. Hopefully you will be better in the morning. If not , I hope you will stay home from work and rest.
I always kept a bottle of anti-bacterial gel at my desk at work , and as soon as I got home from where ever , I washed my hands. Keeping your hands as germ free as possible really helps.OK , I hope your feeling better soon. Much love and hugs to you.xxxx Melody

Good Morning to my special girlfriends!! Well...good afternoon to our Sue...hahah.
Karen, I ended up not going to that craft show. I was all ready to go, and my girlfriend called, saying she was very tired, and not feeling up to it. So, I didn't go either. Which was ok with me...I saved some money!! haha. I just started on decking my halls earlier than planned. I got my (fake) tree up, and boy...after Christmas..I am searching for a new one..one that comes apart in 3 pcs, and the lights stay on. This one..you put each and every branch in!! I seemed to be fighting with it more than ever...and with my left arm hurting off and on...it was not a pleasure! Oh well..it's up..just have to put the lights on it and decorate. I got most of the inside of my home done. I have TOO MANY decorations!! I love them when they are up, but what a job! I will hopefully finish today.
Sue...I hope today you are feeling better. The ladies are right..wash, wash, wash your hands. You probably already do that! Melody..I too keep a bottle of anti-bacterial gel at my desk. Sue..do you get shots of Neulasta after your tx's? These helped me soo much. My immune system stayed strong through all of my tx's.
Well...the snow is coming. I was out running this morning...and the wind was wicked!!!!!!!! I felt like Dorothy..haha! We have a dusting of snow..and they are calling for more!!
Ladies..I will check in with all of my sisters throughout the day. Heading to the dentist this morning.
Sue...I am packing up all of my scarves..and mailing them out to you!! So...don't buy any, until you get these...and if you don't like them...no problem. But I hope some will work out for you!!
Love to you all!!
xoxo

Good morning, dear friends!!
I know what you mean about having too many Christmas decorations, Lisa. My dh has serious issues with my ever-growing collection. The boxes take up nearly all the shelf space in our shed. Every year I vow not to buy anything new, and every year I break my vow. I just can't help myself. All we have left are the exterior lights (it was too windy and rainy this weekend for the dh to put them up), and the tree. My brother and sis-in-law go to the tree farm and cut us down a beautiful noble fir every year as our Christmas gift. It's at their house waiting for us to pick it up and bring it home. It's just been too WET to do anything!! Yuck!
I hope you're feeling better today, Sue. My hands are so dry and cracked from all the washing and hand sanitizer--but we do what we have to do to stay well.
Hugs to you all,
Karen

Good evening everyone xxx
Hope you are all well.... xxx
Goodness I am sooooooooooooo worn out. I woke up this morning at 4 30 am ...feeling drained .... my hat had come off and my ed was like ice !!! Well I didnt get back to sleep..and I did a 9 hour shift at work...so I am beyond in a heap!!
Everyone at work loved my mophead LOLOLOL ......thank my blessings its Winter and not Summer..... obviously our UK summers are probably tepid compared to yours!!!
Hellpppp I am going in for 2nd tx tmw ....I already feel nauseous at the thought....and I have yet to start drinking the water...how is there not enough time to do anything ...or am I dithering of late....
I am going to tell oncology about my breast tomorrow...its terribly sore ..
Well I am off to measure the water...I can't remember how much to drink..but if theres anything to go by...last time I had to drink the water I didnt feel as rubbish as I do now....how do people get through 6 months of this!!! Its terrible.... I am gruelled out....
I need to make time to deck my halls lololol....Lisa I used to help my dad put a tree up like yours when I was younger...it was all colour coded....and it took forever.....nice tree though.... I have one in 3 bits....plonk it up and throw everything on...then the cats get at it ...and it drives me to distraction!!!
Most people have fibre optic trees these days...no dec or lights.....Last year black beads were in fashion for trees....I love the real ones Karen...you are really lucky ...
Well off to start glugging ...
Much Love xxx

Sue, Good Luck tomorrow, girlfriend. Are you going alone?? Its got to be a wee bit easier knowing what your in for!!
Ulla - you can be as negative as you want to be. We will listen & help when we can because as we say here in the states -
Been there, done that!!! Perhaps you need to speak to a doctor about the pain??
To the rest of you ladies, I can totally relate about the decorations. I promised myself I am going to get rid of at least one tote when the season is over. If I don't, I think DH will kill me!!! lol.
Its cold & WINDY here in Jersey. God, how I wish I was back in Key West. Shorts & sandals - thats my style.
Hey, ? for you UK ladies - Is that show still on the air with the 2 women who go to people's houses and give them a good cleaning?? I LOVE THAT SHOW!!! My BBC channel hasn't had it on lately. What other shows would you recommend watching??
Off to walk the pooches, I think its time to get the down jacket out!!
TTYS,
Valerie

Ulla, I'm here!!

Your not alone Ulla! I'm sorry your feeling so bad. Its just all to much to take in sometimes. Hang in there , this is just another hill on this roller coaster ride. It will definately get better , it just takes time. But I know when your in the middle of it all , it seems pretty bleak. ((((((((Ulla))))))))). Melody
-
Hi Valerie , it sure is cold here in Ohio and windy too! I thought I was in for the night , but I am out of my tamoxifen , so I have to go back out. Yuck!
Hi Sue
! Good luck tomorrow with your tx. Yes , tell your doc about the pain in your breast.Keep drinkin' that water! Just keep thinking , after tomorrow , another tx behind you.
How did you do with your wig at work? You were afraid it might slip. Did it? I glad everyone likes it.
I too , am guilty of buying to many decorations! I can't help it. They are soooo pretty. Hugs to everyone. Melody

Hi Ulla, Dang, Sweden, we were in Norway. I get those two mixed up. Oh, we also have spent quite a bit of time in Finland. A company I worked for ran trips from Helsinki to Russia. In the 80's. My best friend is 1/2 Swedish, her favorite half!
I am sorry not many of us around when you are up. Remember, be kind to your other half, I don't know why, just sounded like a good idea.
HEY SUE!!!!! Did you get your flu shot when I told you too!!!!! Ah, but I can't get mad at you, there are so many bugs about. Should have had your cancer in the summer, less bugs. I did the same thing, had everything in the winter. Of course, if it hadn't taken them 3 months to diagnose me, I would have had a shot at summer. I had a bunch of idiots.
Honey, I am sure you are just achey all over, either the chemo or a bug. You can probably take your pick. But just think, number 2 means, you are getting there! They do have some kind of a drug to take after you get the flu that helps you get well sooner, if this is what you have. Could be just about anything. Can't live in a bubble. Darn it.
Well, I guess I have nothing else to say, just hang on, you guys, things WILL get better.
Hugs, Shirlann -
Ulla, I had pus coming from my port scar as well. I just kept putting peroxide on it and it cleared up. Dab some on with a cotton swab. I think you'll be fine by the 12th.
When you feel a little better just let your husband know how much you love him and explain to him that it is the drugs talking, not you. Hopefully, he'll understand.
Have a good night, is it nighttime there???
Valerie

Hi everyone! Sue, I'm doing TC only now. My first two rounds were TAC. I'll have six rounds total. My last one is scheduled for Jan. 30. Then I will do 33 rads and 2-3 boosters just to the tumor site. After that, five years of Tamoxifen. Soooooo much fun!! I hope you've retired early. I imagine you were beyond exhausted. Take care, sweet Sue! Good luck tomorrow. I'll be thinking of you.
Ulla, when do you see your onc again? You really should ask about all the discomfort your experiencing, as well as this spot that you suspect may be infected near your port. Don't worry about being cranky with your dh. I'm sure he understands. This bc garbage is enough to put anyone in a crabby mood, so don't feel badly about it!
Valerie, I love that show!!! They show it on our BBC channel here. They are a riot, aren't they? The show is called "How Clean is Your House", or something like that, isn't it?
Love and hugs to you all,
Karen

Hi Sue,
You will be in bed asleep by now but I just wanted to say that I am praying that your treatment 2moro will be better than the last one and less side effects.
Ulla, I am so sorry that you are feeling bad. It is such a battle and you are always welcome to vent your heart out here.
Much love to you both and everyone else as well.

Just checking in to say hello ladies. I had a long busy day too, but got allot accomplished..and that feels really good. Lights are on the tree..need to put on my gold beads, then one day this week, my youngest and I will put on all of or ornaments. We have a ton! I buy them each one every year since they were born. With the older two not coming home until right before Christmas, I told her...it's just you and me kiddo...we get to put on all the ornaments..haha,..I don't think she was crazy about that. Ulla...don't fret over feeling bad, and letting us know. We are here for you. We have all been there!! Oh have we!! Sue...glad your day went well with the wig. 9 hours is a long day, I was working 10 hr days when I went through chemo...but I was not standing like you!! I hope your tx goes well for you tomorrow. Keep drinking that water. I am sending the scarves to you via FEDEX...so be on the look out for them. Ill let you know tomorrow how long they think it will take. Thanks...I got your x-mass card!! Love it!! too cute! It made my day. Karen...when I move from this house...half of my x-mass decorations are NOT going with me!! Too many! But it does look pretty! Love and hugs to all! xoxo Lisa

Sueps ...good luck tomorrow. Hope you are feeling better!
Ulla, hope you are feeling a better too. We all have bad moments, feel free to vent whenever you want!
That show is on here in Canada, too. It's funny, but some are pretty gross!
I'm laughing about the wig slipping that Melody wrote about. After my hair fell out on the Friday, we were at a hockey tournament game early on Saturday morning with my oldest son. We were out of town, stayed in a hotel, etc. so not the normal routine. I could feel my wig was a bit weird while we were watching the game but no one said anything. When I got out to the car, the darn thing had slipped way back on my head. I guess between the hair loss and the winter jacket I was doomed. Just needed a little tightening with the velcro thingys...tee hee. It was kind of funny!
-
Gosh, how clean is your house, with Kim and Aggie. I could do with them doing a makeover on my house - like every week! Do you notice how often they use vinegar or lemon juice to clean things that we spend a fortune on detergents for?
Hope everyone is fine.
Big hugs
Valerie S
-
Val...how are you? Haven't seen you in awhile.
Very true about vinegar...we should all use it more..great solvent...no chemicals!
Sue...thinking about you...much love and hugs to you today!
Hugs to my ladies!

Hi gals, just checking in, where is SUE????
Anyway, we discovered a wonderful thing. All ants and roaches die immediately with a spray of vinegar, or anything, Windex, etc. Sure a lot better for us to breathe than bug poison. Don't know why we didn't realize this sooner.
Anyway, I hope our Sue is okay. I think this is her day of treatment.
Hugs, to all, Shirlann
-
Hi ladies! Yep, you're right Shirlann. Today is Sue's tx day. I sure hope all those flu-like symptoms cleared up before she went in today. It would be horrible feeling crummy before you even have your chemo. I always feel really well going in and then feel like a walking zombie coming out. All that stuff they pump into you prior to the chemo drugs really knocks me on my butt!
Love and hugs to you all,
Karen
