Hi Karen! Are you still doing good without the red devil? Hope so.
Yes bundle that lil' guy up. Oh to be young and its snowing. I would get so excited as a youngster. I would stay out until my cheeks were rosy and my nose was numb!
Oh Sue , we are suppose to be getting a snow storm Sunday evening , just in time for Mondays comute to work! Another white nuckle drive for me!
-
Ok Sue , you should be done soon if you did it. We are all here , waiting on the yellow brick road for you...
-
Melody...I thought the storm was to begin tonight...with freezing rain!
I am off tomorrow and Monday...thank goodness...I know there will be flight delays! I don't want to be here for that!
How is it going Sue??
-
Boy, it's really coming down now. He's out there catching snowflakes on his tongue. I miss those carefree days. I did the same thing you did, Melody. I'd stay out until I was pretty much numb from head to toe. You know what I loved the most about it? The complete and total silence. Weird for a kid, huh?
Oh Suuuuuuuue, where are you???
-
hi again sue..where r u??how do u feel??plz never feel that u r loosing ur hair aganist ur will just do it by ur hand and shave it ..as karen said it was the most lebrating thing since the dx with that BOOTFACE plz listen to us,,ur sisters who walked that way just steps be4 u and all what we want is so save u some more pain that u dont deserve to feel it,,
trust me when i say that going bald is more more comfortable and lebrating from wearing the wig or the scarf..do u know what i am doing these days ...i just have the wig under the wool head cover when i went out of home ,,,and once i am inside the school or a restaurant or somewhere else i just simply took off them both in one peice ,,,laughing,,,,
can u imagine me as uncle fester??no no no ,,i am more beautifull and sexy than him...
by the way what is ur chemo coctail??i need to know so u may not miss ur hair for long time ,,it can come on during the treatments just like mine ...i shaved it since 20th of okt. and now i have some fuzz inspite that i am just in the midd way of my chemo (i have finished 3 of six tx)plz do it and never feel sorry ..at the end it is just hair that will come back....
-
Thank goodness you have a couple days off, Lisa. That's the one thing I hate about snow--driving in it is a bear! I go into panic mode every time. When I was a teenager, I did a complete 360 on a freeway onramp once. Scary!!!!!!!!!
-
the total silence of a new winter snow...yes, yes..Karen..I know exactly what you mean! How about making some snow angels...we can make them for Sue..and send them flying her way!
-
Hi Ulla! You certainly are much more sexy and beautiful than Uncle Fester! Your hair is already growing back a bit? That's great! My little bit of stubble is almost gone. I actually like the soft, smooth spots better. My son loves to rub my head. I've been putting tons of lotion on it, so it isn't as dry and flakey anymore.
-
Oh my gosh Karen...I did that when I was about 22..in the middle of a 4 lane freeway!! Black ice!! My guardian angel was watching over me that morning.
Actually I am not afraid to drive in the snow. I learned in January..since my b'day is that month, that is when I got my temps. I also have 4 wheel drive..which helps.
I am just glad not to be here and dealing with unhappy people when they hear their flights are cancelled!
-
I love making snow angels, Lisa! We haven't had enough accumulation for that in a couple of years. It usually only hangs out for a few hours and then changes to rain. That's what they're predicting for tonight. Too bad--I'm rather enjoying it. The kids are both outside now. I guess my 14 year old isn't too cool to play out in the snow.
-
I don't imagine unhappy campers are much fun to deal with at the airport.
We don't get nearly enough snow around here to get used to driving in it. I'd feel much more secure with 4 wheel drive. I drive a sedan with front wheel drive, which helps a bit, but not enough.
I really think Sue is doing it. She's been gone for a while now. I think it will be a huge relief for her to have it all off.
-
hi karen..thanks for believing me about being more beautifull and sexy than uncle fester i was thinking about taking a picture of my baldness a nd uploding it here instead of the wig picture..but i just need a good mood for that so it might be encoraging for our other sisters just to go on bald ..i love texas karen way in dealing with the hair thing ...i just feel that i am not a tatoo person but i wish i can do the same tatoo that she have..the fuzz that i have in my head made me worried and wondering (why i have it in my head while others dont??does it mean that the chemo might not working properly with me??)do u remember when u assured me about that..i felt better when read ur post that time,,then i asked my onk,,and she assured me too...
i love u sisters and feel so bad when not log on here ...hugs
-
Oh Karen yes , the silence. It was such a beautiful calm. Boy , its been years since I felt that. Sue , I'm sending you my snow angel right now...
Lisa , I heard it is warming up over night , then tomorrow it will rain then supposely late Sunday night , freezing rain into snow with wild winds. I am in the snowbelt and get all the lake effect snow. I have a feeling I might be using my 4 wheel drive come Monday!
Hey , my son's birthday is in Jan too! Are you a cappricorn?
-
daer all sisters ..any feeding about the prosthesis ???can anyone help me with taht,,it is really uncomfortable,,,,,
-
Ulla..I never got fitted for one. Had my mast. on 10/1..and ever since just wear my fluffy..as they call it! So far it works for me...i am a D cup. I am getting reconstruction next month, so I thought it would be a waste to get the prosthesis. Sorry, I can't help you with that.
Melody and I will send you some snow Karen!
What is your temp there now Melody? It's cold here. My daughter is in Toledo..she said no snow yet..just cold! In Medina county..we get the edge of the snowbelt glory!
Yes, I am a capricorn!! Mine is the 10th. January is a big month in my family. I have sisters on the 8th, 25th, niece on the 30th, nephew on the 28th, and my grandson is the 18th! My sister is expecting her first baby on the 19th!! Crazy month!
Sue...how ya doing hun?
-
I wish I could help with the prosthesis part, Ulla. It must be difficult to be large breasted and have such a bulky, heavy thing in your bra.
I'm sorry that I forgot about your hair coming back in. You did mention that on our October chemo girls thread. I'm sure it has nothing to do with the chemo not working. I've actually read other posts from ladies who that's happened to, so don't worry. I'm sure the chemo is kicking cancer butt!!!! I just have to keep telling myself that when I feel like it's kicking MY butt!
-

-
I'm sorry , I can't help you Ulla , I had reconstruction with my mast. Have you tried the thread here for women who choose not to recon.? They may be able to help you.
Lisa , my sons' is the 16th. The temp here is 28. The weather map showed a big blob heading right for us! Its coming!!!!
-
Sue...you did it! See..you feel better already!! I had to laugh out loud..imagining your wig on the floor..road kill..haha.
They are hot...but now that it's cold..it comes in handy..but in the summer...I tried not to wear it too much.

-
Melody....like u said..here it comes!!! Aahh..another January b'day. I hated it as a kid..I always wanted one in the summer..haha. Doesn't matter a bit now!
Sue..of course we will stand by you through another surgery..but I don't think that is going to happen. But if so..we are here!
Ladies..what am I to do?? When I get my surgery next month..I don't have a laptop...so I won't be able to sit at a computer and talk to you!
That will be terrible!! Oh my!!
-
Hi Sue
! You did it , one more step closer to May , when all things grow and become beautiful again. xxxx
Yes , show the doc the lump. But remember , we have to not spas out , unless the doc says its time to spas out. kay? kay. Remember , I found a lump too and it was nothing serious.xxx
-
I think I will go back and make a cup for me here at work..it will warm me up! I do love tea! When I was 22 I was in Ireland, and I had cream in my tea..and my roomate was so surprised...she was from England. She said...I didnt know Americans put cream in their tea?? I told her, my Mom always did when I was young. Aahh..that's a nice memory as well..my mom...giving me tea! I do wish she was here with me through all of this...I so miss her!
-
Girls...I am bad...I don't feel for anything still!! I have always hated to self exam..and never did!! Now...I still don't. I have to get over that!!
Yes Sue...remember what my Baba (grandmother) said..."worry is for shit"!!!
-
Yipeeee! Sue, I'm proud of you! Don't you feel better now? I know what you mean about the wigs. I HATE mine! They're hot and they itch like a mother! I wear them to church and that's about it. The rest of the time I wear my cute little pageboy hats and my do-rags. I even have a Christmas do-rag with puppies on it! It's so cute!
-
Ok Lisa , you must self-exam. Get over it girl. You must ,you must , you must feel up your bust!lol
Hey Sue did I ever tell you my great-grandparents were from England? We might be related! Boy , that kinda news is enough to make your hair fall out! Good thing you shaved it off!
I always use cream in my tea too.xxxx
-
How funny that you don't do your self-exams Lisa. I'm almost fanatical about it now. I pretty much do one every morning in the shower. I don't know what's worse--I'm pretty much driving myself nuts.
-
That has always been my phobia!! I have never done one. I don't even think I know how to properly! My doctors know this about me. I couldn't even read an article about bc. That is why when I came to these boards back in February..I looked, read..and said..nope..can't do it! I am weird!
Well..now I only have one boob to exam..so get over it right?!
-
I guess I figure , since I have been checked over really well up till now , if I do find a lump , and its "something , it should be in the very early stages. Right?
