OK ladies some one jump on and say they will do it ... otherwise my whole family will divorce me, (my DIL said she's on board for another yr in Ishcua) cuz I can't say no...and I won't say no... besides I think I'll need many more campers.....
MB the nut on the Hill...
PS Crazy Bob is available for the camp fires... he will travel for PINKSTOCK...lol...
-
i think you should take charge and forge ahead maribeth, but please know that i am really not joking when i offer up my place at anytime as an alternative lol!
i really want to be there this year ................ please let me know the dates. i'll walk if i have to ........ (but because my employer is just 'stupid' ....... i need a bunch of advnce warning) ............. i'm really not joking about though, i have tons of room, tons of transportation, a minute from the beach etc. etc. ........... i hope that someday all ya'll will come my way. i think that hosting you all would be cathartic or me!
despite my lack of posting .......... you guys are my family .......... i hope to someday be able to convey my thanks!
-
Hey Shel,
One way we can make sure you're there is to have it at your house! Can you get together with MB and talk about all that it will entail. I'd love to come to your house!
Love,
Bren
-
Ok... trust me where ever we have it it will be great...lol..
anyone else getting excited?...
MB
-
MB, got your PM. I'll call this weekend and we can figure this out!!
Thanks for the info.
-
something is happening in Mississippi in April. Do you know about it?
-
all ya'll all are so welcome here and it would be a blast .......... but you guys need to pick a date ........... and let me know .......... anytime in august will be just fine! ............ seriously, i can host a bunch, and we'd have a great time (no trailers, but tents if the need be) ......... i have a bunch of space etc. and a heart of gold lol .......... ya'll decide and gimme a shout out by end of march ok?
-
I want to come where ever it is. If I have to get passports I better get on that.
MB-I grew up right down the way from Vickie. I would love to come your way next year if you have it there. I have only been back there once in the past 25 years.
Canada it close to NY though. I wish I could offer up sunny San Diego but I only have an acre and it is not all flat. Everyone in a tent would be rolling down the hill at night. We do have a blow up pool that fits about 10 people. If we started a fire you can be sure the fire department would be here in a flash.
-
OK Shel... pick a date if you want to hold it, we are depending on who ever is hosting to pick a date... and how many can you fit in your house?... so plans can be made at the local hotels?... or what ever is needed... last year I decided a little late for some to request their vacations.... so whoever wants it, pick a date...
hugs to all...
MB
-
MB,
I think it might help if we could just wait until after Xmas to figure this out and where we'll have Pinkstock. That would still give us 7 months to plan and get things ready. I'm still considering it, just need to talk to Mr. Tim about a few more things.
It would help if others would post their opinions and how much lead time they need to plan their vacations.
Love,
Bren

Hey PinkStockers.............I'm one that doesn't need alot of notice for the work thing! Virginia, Canada or New York, whatever works for the majority of you will be fine with me!
Anyone who really wants to host should talk to MaryBeth and find out her details and see if you are up to the task..................this lady worked her butt off last year....And I have a feeling there will be more this year!
Hugs,
Neesie
-
Nessie is correct:
MaryBeth and her ENTIRE family worked so hard during Pinkstock '07. It is an enormous task to host Pinkstock. I agree Nessie, anyone who would like to host Pinkstock '08 should speak to MB.
I know I would not have the support necessary to host Pinkstock.
MB's children, grandchildren, husband and daughter-in-law worked so very hard............as did our MB........
-
i can fit 12 extras in the house and can have as many tents as needed in the yard. i can book a block of rooms at the inn at a decent rate and i can get transportation for most to and from metro airport in detroit ......... and if antone wants to fly directly to windsor that's even better. i am open to any weekend in august ............ june and july are ridiculously hot here.
if someone else would rather host, feel free, but i'm certainly open to it, and well versed in catering and hosting large groups .......... i'd love to do this ...... let me know.

Brenda, I like the Fairystone idea a lot too, it appears to be about 6 hrs from me in DC. They have lots of cabins for rent as well as large picnic shelter that could be rented. I could help by coming down a day or so early and shlepping groceries or stuff into a cabin for storage (I would rent a day or two earlier than everybody else.) They even allow fur-kids. Is anybody allergic to dogs?
-
Hi Donna,
This link provides a bunch of info about the Fairystone park and amenities:

This one provides a list of the fees:

There are also hotels nearby. The closest airports are Greensboro, NC or Roanoke, VA

Neesie, I too think there would be more attending this year or at least lots that WANT too.
Madison I remember MB, I think, saying she had kept a book or more on all the things that she had to do to get it to work smoothly. It is a BIG project and I wouldn't have the support she did either. It sounds to much for one person to do alone.
I think many more will think about this after the holidays. Right now I just think everyone is busy with decorating, gift buying, plays, parties, - it just isn't on their mind.
I am flexible in my schedule too. I was hoping we could find a spot that wouldn't be so expensive travel wise for those that would like to attend. Unfortunately that would have to be a big consideration for me. I realize many places will be simply to hot and to miserable to host in August. I know last year many went to Niagara Falls also so it would be nice to have something like that again too.
Just my two cents here; am just one of many

I would love to do Pickstock again. I'm just not sure of finances this year. Also getting a passport could be a problem for some. But I do suggest anyone thinking of hosting a future Pickstock get in touch with MB. She did a fantasic job this year! We also need to make a decision as soon after Christmas as possible so that people can figure out travel plans.
-
ok............ i'll bow out gracefully ...............sorry i took the time to post anything lol .......... happy pinckstocking, geuss i'll spend my time in the keys with the new possible 'dude'?
........... lord knows i love to work on my tan lol!
........... and no worries here, i'm very well versed in being blatently disreguarded "lmao" ............ i've got 'earl' (although my new prospect is quite attentive lol) ......... i hope all ya'll have a blast!
xo, shel

{{shel}}
I really don't think that is how it was intended.
-
shel - I haven't noticed anyone blatently disregarding your offer ... I personally am really busy with work and trying to get ready for the holidays ... I suspect that a place won't be decided on until after the holidays - when things have settled down for everyone ...
You really do seem to love the keys - and working on your tan ... tell us more about the new prospect/dude who is sooo attentive!! Enquiring minds want to know ...
I personally don't think its' time for anyone to withdraw there offer at this point ... it's fun to think about all the places that pinkstock might be held ... i think it's going to be a tough decision ... and pinkstock 2008 is likely to be a bigger event than it was in 2007. I really really want to go ... and I'm sure that it will be a wonderful event no matter where it ends up being ... I hope you'll come even if it isn't at your house.
Hugs,
Doreen

Hey Shel,
Nobody's "blatantly disregarding" you. Geez girl ... I told you I'd love to come to Canada!
Personally, I'm so stressed right now, and hearing of Cy's news just now, I can't focus. I was considering having Pinkstock here awhile ago. I just don't know if it's something I'd be able to pull off on my own. My BF is always on the road. The whole thing is still up in the air. That's why I suggested we wait until after Xmas to figure it out. Hell, I'm flat ass broke.
It will take me 6 months just to save the money for the trip! But wherever it is, I sure hope you're there.
Love,
Bren
-
Hey Shel-I think we are all just in the discussion mode right now. Bouncing ideas around. Please don't be upset. I would love to come to Canada too. I just don't know right now that I can. I have to see if dh is going to come or if it will be me and my 2 boys or what. Some of that will depend on where it is held.
-
As much as I would love to come wherever Pinkstock is held next year, I just don't see being able to spend that kind of money again on a "me, me, me" trip. I think 2008 may be time for some family bonding time.
Hugs
Deb C
-
NO Way are you NOT coming Deb! You can spend the whole summer family bonding..............we only want you for a short time!! Start saving those quarters....................
Hugs,
Neesie

Shel I'm not disregaurding you. I would love to come up and see you! I tried to get everything together for my passport last year and still haven't got it done. And I think the new laws say that even if you drive across you have to have one as of Jan. '08. that could make a difference for a lot. If it doesn't work out for most this year maybe next. You never know noboady is giving up on any one place yet. Please don't be discouraged. We love you.
-
I fell on to this thread, thankfully. It is way too late and I haven't been around in awhile here. I was on my way to secret pals thread to thank my awesome SP, but.... Pinkstock 2007 was the highlight of my year, really! I felt I could shed some insight, but I see that has already been done by other '07 pinkstockers.
We had been talking about a mini Pinkstock gathering in the Spring of '08, maybe in Eureka Springs for the mid-westerners.
So far, I have met a small group in St. Louis, met a larger group in Vegas (11/06) and attended Pinkstock 07. I recommend doing all you can to meet your sisters here. What a life-changing experience it is to meet them in person.
Shel- I am up for Canada or wherever! Actually, I'd love to cross the border, I haven't headed that far north since I was about 10 yrs old!!
Let's keep talking and make this happen again!
-
Shel, sounds like you have an awesome place. I was unable to go to Pinkstock 07 because of surgery. Hopefully in 08 all that will be behind me. I have my passport, so if it is in Canada that will work for me.
Doris
-
Time to start planning.......................I've saved all Christmas and Birthday money for Pinkstock 08
-
Where is Eureka Springs?? What state??
peace
