Hey Lisa , I am now on tamoxifen too. I started it late Sept. I was seeing the doc every month , but this last appt. they up it to every 2 months. I hope all is well with my blood and maybe they will up it to every six months! I hope. Good luck to you with the blood work. Dr. Soltanian was my plastic surgeon and I had my surgery at University hospital.Had diep. Yea , people told me the same thing about my color and how much better I was looking. I thought , man , I must have looked like chemo patient!lol Yea , no eyebrows , no hair , big eyes , yep , looked like Uncle Fester!lololol
-
Sue , I pray to God all the time that mine stays gone and won't travel. For us all.xxxx
-
Oh Sue , you KNOW Lilly is gonna climb the freakin tree!!! Her "soft paws" have come off and If we don't get more by Tues. I fear the tree shall be a shambles!!lol
-
My niece is doing her internship at University hospital. She actually has been working recently with PS's.
Haha...uncle fester...too funny...that is what I used to say!! I told my youngest...I am going to dress like him to pass out my halloween candy this year! My hair is really coming in now, and my eyelashes and brows are almost all there!
When did you have your surgery? I am thinking about the Tram flap. I am not sure if my ps does the diep. How did all of that go for you? Did you have it done when you had your mastectomy?
-
Yes Lisa , I had my diep done with the mast. on March 29th. It was an all day surgery. Went in at 8am and woke up in recovery at 8:30pm. It feels very natural. I perfered natural feeling than a implant. But it is bigger than the "normal" left one. I am suppose to go back for a nipple tatoo and hopefully symetry(msp). I am waiting till after the first of the year so I can use fmla days if I need to.
-
Big difference with the diep vs the tram flap is that they do not use the stomach muscle correct? I will have my right breast (good one) lifted to make everything asymetrical. He said about 3 months later I could have my tatoo done.
Being single and missing so much work makes this so much more difficult. I will be using some of my vacation days to get some pay during that long period off of work.
But I am hoping by next summer...I will be feeling..."normal" again!
-
lololol .... Lilly ...go girl...all the way to the top...Melody ... you will be fixing your tree every day...Lilly will have a ball...
Now girls .....I will be looking like Uncle Fester shortly....
....thank god I have tiny ears... I am off to google who he is and what he looks like... and I will come back and whip your asses if he freaks me out
lololololol
-
Lisa you're an inspiration .... xxx
-
Uncle Fester is a completely hairless, hunched, and barrel-shaped man with dark, sunken eyes and often a deranged smile...!
-
Sue,
thanks..not sure why u said that...but thank you!
How did the google go?? He is a character from the tv show Adams family. Not a pleasant sight..haha.
Actually...my daughters kept telling me, and my dad..that at least I have a nice shaped head...so I didn't look so bad..haha.
So glad, we can laugh at all of this..isn't it girls?!
-

-
...Lisa...you working and arranging sick days on your holiday days...and being so organised ...moving forward all the time... I am stuck in time most of the time xxx
-

Well...maybe on my really bad days...especially since I was so pale...never got much color this past summer on my skin.
Next year...different story baby...we are all going to look fine next summer!!!!!!!!! GO GIRLS!!
-
Sue,
That is only because I am at a different stage of this horrid cancer than you are. You are not stuck!! It was the same for me when I was going through my tx's! Trust me...it will pass, and you will be making plans and talking and organizing the same as me...after your tx's are done.
We all have to move forward through this....u will too...I know that..you have the same drive and spunk in you as I do!
A year from now...we will all be talking of our journey as a thing of the past...and how good we feel, etc. Then we will plan our get together to meet!! I love to plan things...haha
xoxo

I just can't laugh too loud....people at the airport (i am working) will think I have gone off the deep end!!
-
Ok. It looks like certain people (who shall remain nameless) have been dipping into the eggnog!!!!!! And I don't mean the non-alcoholic variety! LOL!!!!!!!!!!! You guys cracked me up! Uncle Fester! I've always had sort of sunken eyes, but my head isn't round enough to pull off the Uncle Fester look. Imagine Jay Leno with a bald head!!!
Hugs,
Karen
-
omg Karen....too funny!!
actually...I can say that the only thing that I have dipped into, is my iced tea. I am working...so no spiked egg nog here! lol...jay leno bald...omg....I am going to have an accident if I don't hurry to the restroom!
-
LOLOLOLOL ...Lisa ... I hope you don't make the restroom... xx
-
You know, I have kind of a protruding chin too. Yikes!!! I really do have a miniature version of the Jay Leno head! Hope you didn't pee your pants, Lisa!!!!
Hey, where did Sue go and why did she say her day just got worse? Be thankful you have small ears, Sue. I'm Jay Leno with Dumbo ears!!!!
I'm off to wrap a b-day gift for my little niece. She's having her first birthday party today. She's cute as a bug!! Take care girls and stay out of that eggnog (you sure no one spiked your iced tea when you weren't looking, Lisa?).
Thanks for the laugh!!
Love and hugs,
Karen
