this is from Cheri at the Hamptons's

"Good morning ladies. After my recent trip out of state to see my Orthopedic Surgeon I am sorry to say that I must cancel hosting Pinkstock at my home next year. I am very dissapointed but I have had alot of health issues this year and have a surgery penciled in for Jan. 17th '08. I know there is so much 'leg work' involved and had some tentative plans that I believe all would have enjoyed.  I was trying to hang on until after the Holidays to see how my health was holding up but there is now no need for any further delay. I am truly sorry and certainly had every intention of hosting it when I volunteered.

So....Pinkstock is up for grabs!! "

I know its early But I think the turn out may be greater in 2008...so let's start early...

If you are interested , I can give you Lots of information

If there are no takers I can do it again in 2008

I would love to do it here, Kentucky is kind of a central location for a lot of you, but I don't have any property.  We could look into "borrowing" some from one of my friends if anyone is interested in coming here.

If you guys are interested in Virginia, the Fairystone State Park is right near me and has a beautiful park with big lake and 2-bedroom cabins for rent and swimming and all kinds of facilities.  I can check into it if you like.  Nearby airports are Greensboro and Roanoke.  I can provide the links for you guys to check it out.  Let me know if any are interested.  I think the cabin rates are about $100 per night for a 2-bedroom.  So, if we double up, it shouldn't cost too much.  They also have camping facilities there and places for motorhomes.  Also, a boat dock and stuff like that.  There are also nearby motels on the Fairystone Pkwy.

    Let me know.

    Love,
    Brenda in VA aka Bren

i've got tons of empty bedrooms, lots of bathrooms, a huge yard, a hotub, gorgeous boytoy neighbours,  and even a treehouse with lodging for 4 or 5 kids lol!

problem is (or not) ............ i'm in windsor ontario canada .......... a hop skip and a little jump from detroit metro airport .............. ya'll are welcome here anytime in june or august and i can get you from the airport to my house no problem and free of charge.

i'm a reknowned hostess (aka 'hell of a party thrower' lol) .......... while i doubt that ya'll would be into pinckstock in canada ........... you're ALL welcome anytime, together or if someone just needs to get away .......... spirit has some ridiculously low airfare to my neck of the woods almost daily!

.................. and lord knows i could use some company and a good ho down lol!

    Hi Shel,

So all we'd have to do is get to Detroit?  And I'd have a coffee pot accessible?  And hot running water?  I'm in.  Girls ... just please don't make me camp out.  I'm too old for sleeping out with the bugs and stuff anymore.

Sounds interesting Shelley;  Haven't been back east for years...I am in B.C.  It seems like the flights from here are ridiculously high though... we'll see.

OK canada sounds fun too, where ever, remember we need lots of space for all the campers you'll borrow...and tenters, if we need passports we'll need time to get them...

    SO come on lets decide...

And yes denise it can be done on 2 acres...lol... we hardly used my yard...

hugs to all... ok is anyone else getting excited already...

Denise, 2.5 acres would be plenty.

In order to do it in the summer (kids off school) it would almost have to be in the north someplace.

Susan, I agree......................NO ONE want to come to the South in the summer when the heat index is over 105 degrees.......

Denise aren't you in Oklahoma? That is where my sister lives. I would love to come to Pinkstock and see my sister but how hot is a field in Oklahoma in the summer time?

Canada, Virgina (Fairystone Park) or New York again sounds good!

Yup, I'm already excited and starting to save for the trip!

I was thinking the same thing about the South.  Nobody wants to be outside in August in the south.  A bunch of women having hot flashes in 105 temps is not a good thing.

I agree, it can get pretty hot and humid here in August.  It looks like there are some good possibilities.  How about near the beach?  We could take over a campground or something.  My offer is always open, but I'm flexible.

Is there a Tousand Trails or something like that near by?

There's a lodge here that will hold over 100 folks. In beautiful Washington Moutains. I'll check on what it has and then we can trhough that in the mix too?

Amy - Amen sister on the thought of us "hot women" getting together in the south during summer.  We could accidently cause wild fires.

Donna you crack me up! It's been averaging 45 here during the day so I know what you mean by walking outside during a hot flash!

Geez, getting excited about pinkstock 08 and we don't even know where it will be yet!!!!  I do live on 2 1/2 acres..........but alot of it is woods and swamp..............I really don't think I have room for campers, rv's and such....Kentucky, Missiouri (sp), Alabama (think amy's farm!), Canada......we can come up with someplace..................let's put our thinking  caps on!!

    Hugs,

How much room does Wild/Jan have in OK?  Bet she loves me volunteering her place!!  Surprised

I still like the idea of Fairy Stone State park here in VA. The cabins are all 2 bedrooms and go for about $100 a night.  They have camping facilities, lakes, hiking, and all kinds of stuff.
