Roll Call - 2005 survivors

I was diagnosed in Sept of 2005.

Triple Negative IDC

2 cm

no node involvement

3 out of 4 AC followed by 12-weekly Taxol

33 rads.

I survived the AC barely. Thought the reactive rheumatoid I had from a bacterial infection would never leave me but it has.

I feel good.

So far so good.

I honestly don't remember exactly when I was diagnosed---count my anniversary as June 2, the day of my mastectomy. That's when I got rid of it.



Three tumors, largest 2 cm. IDC, node negative, ER/PR+, Her2-. Thanks to oncotype testing, no chemo---only a 2% advantage and didn't think it was worth it. Was on Arimidex and turned into a cripple---now doing much better on Femara.



Didn't think I was ever going to come out of the dark emotionally but it has happened. Doing well and actually have started as a mentor for newly diagnosed patients at my onc's practice.

I was dx 5/05 with IDC and DCIS with 3 positive nodes. I had a bilat mast and dose dense A/C-T and have been on tamoxifen since 12/05. So far, so good!

I'm September 2005. 

Extensive high grade DCIS with microinvasion.

Single mastectomy w/ reconstruction. After much debate and thrashing about, decided not to take Tamoxifen.

Two years out, so far so good.  Hopefully I'll still be saying that in another week or two - my mammogram (on the remaining breast) is next week followed by a check-up by my surgeon.  I'm surprisingly not nervous.  What will be, will be.

I was diagnosed 5/26/2005.

IDC, ER/PR+ HER2-, node negative, clean margins, 1.2cm. Lumpectomy, 37 rad treatments, no chemo. Tamoxifen 1 1/2 years, then total abdominal hysterectomy this past May. Now on Femara which is causing a bit of joint pain in the fingers, but, not too bad. So far, so good...Overall, I feel like I'm doing great!

I was diagnosed 12/22/04, which was almost 2005, so count me in.  We had an unprecedented white Christmas here in south Texas, and the giant tsunami happened the next day on the other side of the world.  The entire planet seemed turned on its head along with my life. 

I finished rads two years ago this week.  My ass was seriously dragging at that point, and has been for two years.  Over the last two weeks, however, a cool front blew in and I've had a new lease on life.  Finally got the burst of energy I've longed for and got my house clean and the garden spiffed up in time for my Mom's 80th birthday last Saturday.  She's also a survivor, and her mastectomy was the only treatment she received.  I think I'll go have a glass of wine to celebrate.  

Hi 2005 gals.  Have shared thoughts with many of you over the last two years.  I was diagnosed in Sep 2005 and had a bi-lateral mastectomy with tissue expanders now final implants, dose dense AC/T, rads, oophorectomy, Tamoxifen for 3 months before ooph, Arimidex for a year and now Femara.  I'm hanging in there and trying to get use to my new normal. 

I was very worried Sept, 2005. A huge lump grew in my breast over 7weeks,I felt it at 2cm but the diagnosis and surgery took too long...

IDC, 9cm, 2/14 nodes, double neg, Her2+3.

But...had all my chemo,rads and the year of Herceptin and am feeling great. There is no evidence of the nasty beast. I feel fortunate to have regained my health and optimism. I feel VERY badly for those who have not been so lucky. I am living each day as if it is a gift, truly.

DX 4/8/05

Double mastectomy 4/24/05, several reconstuction surgeries.

Symptom was bleeding from nipple; angio invasion, no lymph nodes postive. Stage 2A, grade3.ER weak+/ PR- , her-. 4 Ellence/ 4 Abraxane.  No AI's. 

I feel great. 

I was diagnosed Nov/Dec of 2005 (I don't remember dates) through a routine mammo.  I was totally blindsided although I had had BC before.  It was a new primary with node involvement.  I did dd AC and taxol, lumpectomy, rads, herceptin.  I have lingering peripheral neurophathy from the taxol and expect to live with it forever, but other than that life is good.  This BC may get me in the end, it's the odds on favourite, but for now I'm mostly happy, mostly healthy, and that is a lot.

Well April 14th of this year was my two year anniversary.  Dx on 4/14/05 IDC, stage 2, 4 A/C, then 12 weekly taxol/herceptin, 35 rads, and herceptin every 3 weeks till august 06, also had complete hysterectomy in 8/06. 

Feel great love life and plan on being around for a very long time............

I had my 2nd dx on Oct 12, '05. In '02 I went in for my baseline mammo (age 35) and jumped thru all the hoops and was dx'd with DCIS.  It was a lot wider spread than they thought so went thru a couple lumpectomies and then I said...just take the whole thing.  So, I had a mastectomy and tram.  In '05 they did an ultra sound on a lump in my armpit and they said I needed to have it removed discovered I  had IDC.  So, I went thru A/C, Taxol and rads.  I tried Arimidex... HATED it and got my period back so now I'm on Tamoxifen.  I have a lot less SE's on Tamoxifen. 

I just had a clean mammo and will have a petscan at the end of the month.  Most of the time I feel pretty good and it doesn't bother me. But around test time I become a mad woman and worry about worse case scenerio.  I think the more time that passes the worse that part gets. I guess waiting for the other shoe to drop.  I have lost so many people I was close to in the last year to this horrible disease so it's pretty scarey.  Overall, I am fine and thankful God kept me around to raise my kids!!

I'm in too.  DX August 19th, 2005.  Stage II, ER/PR pos  No nodes.  3.5cm. Lumpectomy but didn't get clean margins, reexcision of margins - Aug 24th - still not clean. Had 4 AC,DD, stopped due to severe abdominal pain (gallbladder).  Just had another biopsy and MRI.  Biopsy OK.  Had been on estrogen for 30 years, stopped the day of diagnosis.  Between chemo, rads (36 treatments) and stopping estrogen, had a terrible time with fatigue.

Been doing well; the biopsy and MRI have just brought everything to the forefront again.  I expect MRI to be just fine though.

I'm here!!  I was DX on Dec 7, 2005....stage 3C triple neg, blah, blah, blah.....Against all doctors speculation...I am here... and I am NED.  There will be a BIG party at my house Dec 7th
