Roll Call - 2005 survivors
Well its seems we will soon be approaching a new year. I was diagnosed in April 2005. IDC er/pr negative, Her2 positive. 8 rounds of chemo. One positive lymph node.
2 years ago I was still getting chemo and today Im feeling pretty darn good.
Just wondering how many of you are 2005 survivors and how your feeling and doing now.

I was diagnosed in Sept of 2005.
Triple Negative IDC
2 cm
no node involvement
3 out of 4 AC followed by 12-weekly Taxol
33 rads.
I survived the AC barely. Thought the reactive rheumatoid I had from a bacterial infection would never leave me but it has.
I feel good.
So far so good.

I honestly don't remember exactly when I was diagnosed---count my anniversary as June 2, the day of my mastectomy. That's when I got rid of it.
Three tumors, largest 2 cm. IDC, node negative, ER/PR+, Her2-. Thanks to oncotype testing, no chemo---only a 2% advantage and didn't think it was worth it. Was on Arimidex and turned into a cripple---now doing much better on Femara.
Didn't think I was ever going to come out of the dark emotionally but it has happened. Doing well and actually have started as a mentor for newly diagnosed patients at my onc's practice.
Life is good and full of blessings.

Diagnosed August 2005
Lumpectomies followed by bilateral mastectomies and reconstruction with tissue expanders
4 A/C
started tamoxifen but stopped it after a month in preparation for a hysterectomy
Am doing fine now. Just dealing with chemo-brain and hot flashes.

I'm September 2005.
Extensive high grade DCIS with microinvasion.
Single mastectomy w/ reconstruction. After much debate and thrashing about, decided not to take Tamoxifen.
Two years out, so far so good. Hopefully I'll still be saying that in another week or two - my mammogram (on the remaining breast) is next week followed by a check-up by my surgeon. I'm surprisingly not nervous. What will be, will be.

I'm another April 2005 survivor: IDC node negative, oncotype dx score 19 - lumpectomy, rads and taking arimidex.
Beesie - hope your follow-up appts go well and that you'll be saying "so far so good" for a very long time!!! I'd bet that the checkups still make each and every one of us a nervous wreck....
I'm sooo happy to see that everyone who's responded is doing well. Let's all keep it up!!!

I was diagnosed 5/26/2005.
IDC, ER/PR+ HER2-, node negative, clean margins, 1.2cm. Lumpectomy, 37 rad treatments, no chemo. Tamoxifen 1 1/2 years, then total abdominal hysterectomy this past May. Now on Femara which is causing a bit of joint pain in the fingers, but, not too bad. So far, so good...Overall, I feel like I'm doing great!
hugs to all,

November 2005
Diagnostic mammogram and Ultrasound
Lumpectomy followed by single mastectomy
Extensive 4cm DCIS with 4mm IDC. ER 95%+ PR slightly+ Her2+++, over amplified. Node negative. Chemo not advised for 2% advantage. Declined Femara.
I'm following Beesie --- am booked for my Diagnostic mammogram and 2 year check-up. Maybe a little nervous.
Hugs around,
Stephanie

I was diagnosed 12/22/04, which was almost 2005, so count me in. We had an unprecedented white Christmas here in south Texas, and the giant tsunami happened the next day on the other side of the world. The entire planet seemed turned on its head along with my life.
I finished rads two years ago this week. My ass was seriously dragging at that point, and has been for two years. Over the last two weeks, however, a cool front blew in and I've had a new lease on life. Finally got the burst of energy I've longed for and got my house clean and the garden spiffed up in time for my Mom's 80th birthday last Saturday. She's also a survivor, and her mastectomy was the only treatment she received. I think I'll go have a glass of wine to celebrate.

August 2005

Hi 2005 gals. Have shared thoughts with many of you over the last two years. I was diagnosed in Sep 2005 and had a bi-lateral mastectomy with tissue expanders now final implants, dose dense AC/T, rads, oophorectomy, Tamoxifen for 3 months before ooph, Arimidex for a year and now Femara. I'm hanging in there and trying to get use to my new normal.

Dx July 2005
Mast in Aug
Chemo in October
Finished AC then Taxol with Herceptin, finally finished the Herceptin in March 2007.
Was on Tamox, then had an ooph and on Arimidex now.
Feeling great due to bone scan yesterday!!! Still have joint pain in the morning and occasional soreness under the arm but we are survivors!!

I was very worried Sept, 2005. A huge lump grew in my breast over 7weeks,I felt it at 2cm but the diagnosis and surgery took too long...
IDC, 9cm, 2/14 nodes, double neg, Her2+3.
But...had all my chemo, rads and the year of Herceptin and am feeling great. There is no evidence of the nasty beast. I feel fortunate to have regained my health and optimism. I feel VERY badly for those who have not been so lucky. I am living each day as if it is a gift, truly.
Fists up!

diagnosed 10/10/2005
Stage III a, lumpectomy X2, ac, taxol, herceptin, radiation, arimidex
I feel great except my joints ache if I sit or lie in one position too long. I still have canceritis. My stomach was upset last night and I started worried I had mets to liver or abdominal lymph nodes.
This is amazing going through the posts.
be well, donna

Dx in sept 05 at age 40. I had a core biopsy which came back atypia. surgeon insisted on a lumectomy which showed a 3cm stage II grade III IDC with exensive DCIS. i decided on a mast which also showed a 1.5cm IDC. i then decided i wanted no part of my other breast, so i had it removed also a month later. I started my DD AC followed by DD Taxol, then tamox for 1 1/2 years and now arimidex. other than the usual aches and pains from the meds. Im doing well.
-
I was diagnosed Nov/Dec of 2005 (I don't remember dates) through a routine mammo. I was totally blindsided although I had had BC before. It was a new primary with node involvement. I did dd AC and taxol, lumpectomy, rads, herceptin. I have lingering peripheral neurophathy from the taxol and expect to live with it forever, but other than that life is good. This BC may get me in the end, it's the odds on favourite, but for now I'm mostly happy, mostly healthy, and that is a lot.
-
dx 7/2005. 5 FEC, lumpectomy 2x, rads, tamox. Wild nights due to tamox, but otherwise doing very well. I do a lot of volunteering with a group of survivors. I feel very lucky.
Take care,
--Hattie -
Hi,
Well April 14th of this year was my two year anniversary. Dx on 4/14/05 IDC, stage 2, 4 A/C, then 12 weekly taxol/herceptin, 35 rads, and herceptin every 3 weeks till august 06, also had complete hysterectomy in 8/06.
Feel great love life and plan on being around for a very long time............

Add me to the list. 2nd dx in March 05, bilateral mastectomy, several reconstruction surgeries, tamoxifen 2 1/2 years, about to switch to aromisin. First dx was in 98, partial mastectomy with rads. Like others, getting used to the new "normal". Feeling great though and just sold/bought a new home so I'll be busy remodeling that

-
I had my 2nd dx on Oct 12, '05. In '02 I went in for my baseline mammo (age 35) and jumped thru all the hoops and was dx'd with DCIS. It was a lot wider spread than they thought so went thru a couple lumpectomies and then I said...just take the whole thing. So, I had a mastectomy and tram. In '05 they did an ultra sound on a lump in my armpit and they said I needed to have it removed discovered I had IDC. So, I went thru A/C, Taxol and rads. I tried Arimidex... HATED it and got my period back so now I'm on Tamoxifen. I have a lot less SE's on Tamoxifen.
I just had a clean mammo and will have a petscan at the end of the month. Most of the time I feel pretty good and it doesn't bother me. But around test time I become a mad woman and worry about worse case scenerio. I think the more time that passes the worse that part gets. I guess waiting for the other shoe to drop. I have lost so many people I was close to in the last year to this horrible disease so it's pretty scarey. Overall, I am fine and thankful God kept me around to raise my kids!!

-
Count me in. I was dx 11-16-05 IDC, chemo, rads and taking tamox. I think all that is with my name at the bottom. I feel good but different than before. Still in a fog like stage sometimes.
-
I'm in too. DX August 19th, 2005. Stage II, ER/PR pos No nodes. 3.5cm. Lumpectomy but didn't get clean margins, reexcision of margins - Aug 24th - still not clean. Had 4 AC,DD, stopped due to severe abdominal pain (gallbladder). Just had another biopsy and MRI. Biopsy OK. Had been on estrogen for 30 years, stopped the day of diagnosis. Between chemo, rads (36 treatments) and stopping estrogen, had a terrible time with fatigue.
Been doing well; the biopsy and MRI have just brought everything to the forefront again. I expect MRI to be just fine though.

Another two year survivor here. I was diagnosed at age 41, 4 cm tumour, 3 nodes+, er/pr+, her-. I didnt think that life would ever be somewhat normal but can proudly say that this survivor is enjoying every day.
We just moved into our dream home this past weekend and never thought it would come to be as I didnt think I would be around to see it happen!
Good Health and Continued Prayers to All My Sisters!!!
