Grey's Anatomy Season 4

Yeah, not a great episode. What did you think about McSteamy being hard on George? I kinda liked it. A little bad.
Dr. Hahn is trying to hard to be part of the boys club.
Meridith and Christina do hang out together a lot. That would be a great plot twist. I know they did it on ER.
-
I am so not feelin' this show these days! Everyone just seems pathetic and all of the sexual tension that has characterized so much of the relationships throughout all previous seasons seems to be gone. I find myself actually preferring Private Practice and I was all ready to hate that show!

Oh-- you know I forgot it was McSteamy who was hard on George- I blamed that on Alex. Since McSteamy cheated with his best friend (McDreamy's) wife-- I would think he should have empathy for George.
I know Christina was originally supposed to be bisexual. I can't think of any other bisexual characters on the major networks. The actresses who play Yang and Hahn played lesbians on broadway and the one playing Hahn said she would welcome it. Times have surely changed since Ellen's character came out on her show a dozen years ago.
Marin, I like PP, but not as much as Grey's. I would plan an evening around grey's but not PP. Did you get your SHOTIME yet for the L word?
-
I liked last night. I thought the scenes with derek and mcsteamy were cute, and I like that hahn is establishing herself on the show.
I liked the open heart guy describe everyone as birds, and I really loved the end when mer caught alex doing the naughty with lexie.
dun dun dunnnn....LOL
it was more of a lighthearted episode. I'm okay with it. Honestly, I'm much more excited about watching ugly betty then greys these days.
-
I liked last night, too. But, I am more into The Biggest Loser this year than Grey's. Real people...working their arse off.

McSteamy was helping Callie - remember those two had a short fling too... and McSteamy is certainly looking for someone to sleep with ... I wouldn't be at all surprised if those two hook up again.
If Christina had been the one in the surgery instead of Izzy bird guy would have died ... that was a very interesting scene.
Izzy and George and the perfect night were pretty pathetic ...
Mer and Christina do spend an inordinate amount of time in bed together ... interesting thoughts re: possible lesbian relationship.
I hope next weeks' episode is more exciting.

No, Amy, no Showtime yet and I'm so missing Weeds and Californication, but I need to get my financial act together first. Come 2008, I'll be hooking into Showtime for the season opener of The L Word....can't wait! Gonna have a viewing party with all of my bffs who, as you know, are lesbians! I'm getting psyched already, aren't you? The sexual tension never goes out of that show, for sure!!!!
~Marin
-
Marin you gotta get free months of it. There are ways to do it if you have comcast as your provider. I'm getting really psyched about the L word. I love weeds, but haven't really gotten into californication.
I forgot about McSteamy and Callie's romp, Doreen. I guess I didn't think the heart guy would have died had Izzie not been there, just that he wouldn't have gotten into that position in the first place with Yang's skill and confident demeanor. I kept wondering why no one told him to close his eyes and do deep breathing exercises. I also wondered why, even though he was allergic to anesthesia, he couldn't have had some type of sedative like valium or xanax. When I've had surgery where I was awake or semi awake they sure didn't want me chatting away while they tried to do the procedure.
-
so on the view this morning, they were talking about some dumb list in maxim about the UNSEXIEST women... I'm okay with Brittany making the list but sandra oh made the list too. They cited her boyish figure and the role she plays on grey's.
AARRRRGGGGGGHHHHHH. What? An award winning actress playing a strong female and suddenly she's not sexy??? um, what about those old scenes when she and bourke would be in the on call room-- I seem to remember her figure was not boyish at all.
-
I loved the "boy's night out"! Guess it was going to be Monopoly! And I loved that Izzie made the bird watcher more comfortable during as a difficult situation.
-
I agree Beth. I think Sandra Oh is incredibly sexy-- if the men don't want her that's fine with me
-- but in all seriousness, I think it's sexist that such a poll was even taken.
-
I tevo Grey's and haven't watched it yet. I don't bite my nails til this show comes on anymore. Will watch but sounds kinda wishy washy.
Sandra Oh is not my idea of sexy in this show. Other shows, movies, etc, yes. Well, correction, in most episodes of this show I don't find her sexy like Izzy or Addison. Sandra has had some scenes where she looks great.
-
My list of sexy from first is Addison, Mer, Yang, Lexie, Bailey, Hahn, Izzie taking into account personality.
-
Looks like Meridith and Derek might be over for good
.
Patrick Dempsey Says McDreamy and Meredith May Call It Quits
Ellen Pompeo by Scott Garfield/ABC, Patrick Dempsey by Scott Garfield/ABCNot only does it look like the writers' strike will cap the fourth season of Grey's Anatomy at only 11 episodes, but Patrick Dempsey says the relationship that has kept viewers on the edge of their seats for three years may have finally reached its expiration date.
"The next couple of episodes are going to be completely different with what happens with Meredith and Derek," Dempsey revealed to TV Guide exclusively while he promoted his new film, Enchanted, in L.A. on Nov. 4. "I'm looking forward to that change and that movement."
After three years Dempsey is ready for his character to move on - potentially to the new character brought in as his love interest. "I just want the characters to continue to grow and to work things out realistically," Dempsey says. "Derek and Meredith's relationship has gone as far as it can go. I don't think it's going to go unless she commits to marrying him or goes into therapy and starts working on herself. We'll have a cliff-hanger with this last show and there will be a resolve that seems to be permanent." - Reporting by Carita Rizzo -
That suits me. A normal guy is not going to hang around like that. He deserves someone who is 'into' him.
And Yang and Mer in the bed again! And when McDreamy said to Yang that Mer won't let him take care of her, Yang replied, "I'm taking care of her." Definitely see signs of something more. Maybe it could even be a love triangle thing there with Mer going for someone else and Yang really wanting more out of her.
Like to see who McDreamy starts dating. Glad Hahn is back.
-
McDreamy and Hahn?
-
Fitz, that would be strange. He's so sensitive and caring and she's so abrasive, but you never know how she is personally.
-
They stopped production on the show due to the writers strike
. I hope they settle things soon.
-
Ok, the little blurb about tonight's show that I just read said that Mark was gonna fall hard for a 'fellow surgeon,' but in the next sentence mentions that Callie is losing power through delegating so much to Bailey. So is Mark gonna be kissin' on Hahn???!
I'm cranked now!
~Marin
-
I just saw a comercial of McDreamy in bed with someone who at first glance seemed to resemble Christina. I will be so mad if that's the case. I don't think Derek would stoop that low. At least I hope not.
-
Well McSteamy got put down by Hawn (sp)! Good for her.
Bailey is finally Chief Resident!! It HAD to happen! I was amazed to see her cry, tho.
Izzy and George are finally getting it that they are NOT meant for each other! They were two miserable, grieving people who reached out to each other and that's all. At last!
-
~Thank goodness Bailey is chief resident! I too was amazed to see her cry.
~The chief cracks me up, so competent at the hospital and so incompetent as a single man.
~There's no reason for Hahn to be so unprofessional with Christina, taking her off her rotations. It's supposed to be a teaching hospital.
~Poor Lexie dealing with her father. I can understand her not wanting to tell Mer. Mer is so mean to her. I was glad Lexie told her off.
~Poor George and Izzie. They're trying too hard but I fear they won't make it. I disagree Iodine that they don't belong together. They were best friends and a love based first on a friendship can be really strong-- but like you said they were two grieving people so they didn't get together under the most optimal conditions.
-
I think Hahn is trying to teach Christina something - humility, maybe? Like in "The Chosen", where the rabbi father doesn't speak to his brilliant son for years because it's the only way he knows how to teach him about suffering and compassion. Hahn knows Christina will be a great heart surgeon but Christina's way too full of herself and had an advantage because of Burke.
Love based on friendship first can be wonderful but if there's no chemistry, there will always be that itch that no one on Gray's can resist scratching!
Mer and Lexie are going to come together over their Dad's drinking. Mer is warming up to Lexie - she had Alex take "my sister" home, after she had denied being sisters earlier in the episode. And Lexie saw how well Mer handled the dad who didn't think he was attached to the baby.
More story and less soap, please. The whole show is as stuck as Mer and Der.
-
Tow, what in Hahn's behavior do you see as trying to teach Christina humility? The only thing I've picked up is venom at a woman Hahn perceives as having slept her way to where she is (which is so not true). I've seen nothing from Hahn except she wants nothing to do with Christina-- but maybe I'm overlooking something.
I forgot how good Mer was with the father who wanted to abandon his daughter. Interesting parallels with her own father. Her father is supposed to be in the hospital this week or next so I guess she'll find out about his alcoholism.
-
Everyone in this show sleeps with everyone else, so why should that bother Hahn so much?
I think Bailey was on to something when she told the chief that Christina should look at other specialties so she'll realize just how badly she wants to be a heart surgeon. With Burke she had it handed to her on a platter, and now she thinks she's entitled. Maybe that's what Hahn dislikes about her. Or maybe there's something about Hahn that we don't know yet.
-
I think Mer knows what love is and what it isn't. She's good at seeing it for others but for herself, she is afraid and walks away. She has been hurt and fears that will be her story forever.
"Physician, heal thyself" should be her motto. Or even a title for one of their episodes.
-
Well, with the writers' strike, they only have episodes into December, then the well runs dry. How will that leave us? Also, is it the writers who come up with all of the twists and turns or the creator of the series (I forget her name)? To me, it feels as though everything with everyone on the show is up in the air and in transition, so anything can happen!
~Marin
-
Marin they usually only do new episodes through November sweeps, then mostly repeats until after the holiday and gearing up towards Feb sweeps. Arnold Schwarzenegger (sp?) is supposedly trying to mediate between the writers and producers because he fears it effecting the economy of his state. I feel badly for the people who are losing their jobs because of the strike, not the wealthy ones, the janitors, concession stand workers, etc who really can't afford for the writers to be on strike and have no control over when they go back.
-
The strike is already 5 days long ... 5 days without pay? Not easy and I think what they're fighting for is fair. I saw Ray Romano on the news and he is supporting the strike.
Sad for us but sadder for them.
-
I also think it's interesting to read about who is and is not crossing the picket lines.
