Good luck Mary Lou!!  I am excited for you!

You hair looks fabulous- how did you get it to grow so fast?  I still have the gorilla crazies!

Oh, AMEN to that, Margerie!  ML's hair is fantastic.  Mine is just plain weird.  I'm going to make a special trip to my first hairstylist from my childhood thru the age of 25.  She is excellent, and I am hoping that my embarrassing hair is due to incompetent stylists and not chemo hair.

ML-we are all thrilled for you!  Let us know how you are when you feel up to it!

Odalys and Anna-Sending love out to you.  How are you both doing?  I know both of you have had some stress in your lives lately.

    Kim?  Where are you?
    Love and prayers, Deb

I was HER2+++ too, but nobody is suggesting a brain MRI here.

No, the redness started in early September, no flights at that point. Yes, I had nine (negative) nodes removed on that side. (I wish they had taken those nine on the other side, where they took only two and both were positive.)

I asked the breast surgeon if it could be some sort of edema and he said no. My plastic surgeon has taken charge of the treatment. The new oncologist says if it doesn't go away maybe I should see an "infectious disease specialist." Yikes. I've been on the antibiotic for over two weeks and see the doctor on Monday (again!). Way up in Baltimore! Hubs is such a sweetie to keep driving me there and making an outing of it each time. I'm no good driving long distances; I get hypnotised by the road and have to pull over and nap every 20 minutes or so.

The reason I need to ditch this thing is I have hip replacement surgery scheduled for the beginning of December and they won't do it if I have an infection anywhere.

Mary Lou, I'll be thinking and praying for you on Wednesday. I am so excited for you!

The fall weather here is glorious. I hope none of you are having the bad weather I keep hearing about.

    Love to all my sisters.

    Hello, dear sisters.

Kind of good news!  I spoke to Kim on the phone the other day (this is the good news).     Her answering maching, by the way is adorable, the whole family takes part in leaving the message.

I called Kim because she has been on my mind and in my heart a lot lately.  I think that we all have been worried about her.  She sounds tired-very tired (this is the not so great news).  However, her spirits are good.  She made me laugh because she said she avoids the oxygen tank because she is stubborn.  She just doesn't want to use it!

Anthony sounds like a wonderful husband, and he gets to work from home-what a blessing!  You can just tell that Kim is surrounded by love at her home, just like she is here.  She has her mom next door, so she gets a lot of help.

She just has tx. after tx.  I can hear it in her voice that she is weary, but she is STRONG.  I am humbled by her and her journey!

I asked Kim if she would mind that I posted here about our conversation, she said she wishes she could get to the computer and check in but it's just hard nowadays.

Please pray for her, that she can sleep and get the rest she needs.  Of course, we all pray for her continued health.

Kim, we love you.  It was a joy to talk to you.

    Love and prayers, Deb

    Deb,

Thank you for being the mother hen and calling Kim.  I was officially starting to worry.  I am glad she has such tremendous support and can rally up some humor in hard times.  I am sorry Kim is still struggling with treatment- dang cancer cut her a break!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  I hope you hang in there Kim and your next scans show healthy progress.

    Anna-

Hip replacment- arghhh.  I hope your boob settles down.  Isn't it always something?  Brain MRI are not protocol for early stage bc.  But technically I am "locally advanced" at Stage 3 and hyperviligant (emphasis on the hyper) and my onc will do anything to shut me up, including ordering a brain MRI for my peace of mind.

Hope all of you are enjoying the fall weather.  It is a nice change.  We just put away all the patio furniture and pool toys.  Just put on the flannel sheets- so cozy!

Margerie - Flannel sheet, sounds really cozy.  No flannel for us any time soon.  We are still waiting for the first cool day; some time soon I hope.   It's  slightly cooler at 75 degrees.  Cool

Deb - thanks for the Kim update and her number.  I will give her a call on the weekend.

Mary Lou - good luck.  I'll be thinking and praying for you.  Please keep us posted.

Anna - hip replacement at sucha young age?  I hope and pray all goes well.

Got to go now ladies.  It's been a long and busy day and I am very tired.  Good night sisters.

    Love and blessings,

Debbie, thank you for the Kim update. Yes, I pray for her every day and will continue to do so.

Mary Lou must be in the OR right now. I wish her a speedy recovery and beautiful results.

Yep, Odalys, the way I see it, all that chemo ate my hip.

My neighbor, who has always been a bit standoffish, just came over and visited with me in our newly fenced-in (for little dog) backyard. She told me her husband of 35 years just up and left her while we were gone during the summer! I am going to have to reach out to her, I guess involve her in some activities. Did I tell you I learned embroidery this summer, and also that I took watercolor classes? I could play all day long.....

    Love to you all,

    Anna

The fall weather is absolutely glorious.

    Hey, sisters!

We have been having a wonderful Halloween.  I'd post pictures of Daniel at his first ever school Halloween party, but  I FORGOT MY CAMERA!

    Dang chemo brain!!!  Embarassed

I have to get copies from the teachers and another mommy who had a brain to bring her camera.  He is the Scarecrow, I am Dorothy, and Greg is going to be Tin Man when he gets home this afternoon.

We had our outfits hand-made by the same lady who did Daniel and Greg's costumes last year (yes, from Peoria!  We liked her so well, we traveled back to her!).  My outfit is very authentic, but the material is as light as a feather, and it is really windy.

Three times today, I have given people a show of my flesh-colored Victoria's Secret undies.  The wind just picks up the skirt and I am oblivious!  EmbarassedEmbarassedCool

Time to go yell at Daniel-he's too hyper to sleep.

ML-happy surgery to you, dear sister!  Post when you feel up to it!
    Love and prayers, Deb

Deb- Thanks for the well wishes and the Kim update. She is such a strong woman, I keep her in my thoughts and prayers. If someone has the address please send it to me.

Thanks for thinking my hair looks good. I use a hot straightner after I blow  it dry. It helps so much. Gets rid of all the chemo curls.

I have been doing very well, I have an expander, but no drains !!!!! The reduction side is no problem at all. The expander side is a little tight, I will have another 100 cc's put in on Monday. I have been cleaning out a closet down stairs. I'm stir crazy.

I may return to work next week. I have been out and about.... went to Lowe's this morning to buy paint for the living room.

Tonight is Sebastian's first TRICK or TREAT. So I'm going to drive to town and meet them ....Just to take pictures. And see him get some candy at a few doors.

Then I will come back , I feel so much better with out a "big boob" on the one side, and no boob on the other, it is so nice!

I think I'm still a D, Michael says's it looks like it. To me there tiny.....I could almost throw the old one over my shoulder . LMAO

Well, I need to get on the road, so I'll check in later.

    Where is everyone?

Anna, our trip was to short to get up there and visit. Chris lives in Midland so it was farther than I thought from you. Michael had to work on Friday and we had to get back to my PC appointment this morning at 8 am.

So my trip was cut a lot shorter.

He didn't do fills today, said he was going to wait till the 16th. I was really glad...

I'm very sore after all the travel.....about 600 miles.

Hope all is well with all my sisters.

ML-What a sweetpea!  Too cute, and I love the fingers in the mouth.  Mommy and Daddy just look as proud as can be, too.

How are you feeling now?   Still sore?  What do you think about how it looks?

Kim-still praying, and still surrounding you with love.

Odalys-how are you?  How are you recovering from your recent trauma-I've been thinking about you and your friend (her name was Liz, right?).  I just want you to know that we haven't forgotten.

Marg-where the heck are you?!?!?  Anna-How is it going with you?

We are all coming up on our chemo-versaries, too!!!!!!  Oh-I want to go back and read from the beginning.  The things we have gone through together........

    Ok, I'd better go.
    Love and prayers, Deb

PS-If I can remember to get the camera in here, I'll be posting pics of Daniel on Halloween.

I am still here.  Love all the pics!  My laptop is in the shop- will post pics when I get it back.  What is it with gadgets?  In the last 2 weeks my laptop crashed, my printer broke, my new digital camera won't turn on and my ipod won't charge.  Oh, and my washer broke too!

We are going up to the mountains for Thanksgiving. I am so excited- some family is joining us.  Got little decorations yesterday.

Had my first A/C on Nov. 15, 2005.  Thank goodness it is like childbirth and the details are already fuzzy.

Have my PET next Thursday- so bracing myself for inscanity next week.

Wishing you all health and happiness,

    Margerie

Jeeps, I just realized I didn't even think of my chemo anniversary. It was on Halloween. That must be a very good sign.

My infection is still there. I see the PS on Monday again. (The fifth visit for this thing! and he's all the way up in Baltimore!) I just want to shake it so I can "look forward" to that new hip, scheduled for December 18th.

Mary Lou, I hope you are feeling well and that you are pleased with your results. Sebastian is a darling.

Kim, I am praying for you.

    Love to all,

    Anna

    Hi all,

Deb- I'm feeling pretty good. They are uneven now because of the fills. I have another on Friday.

But it is so nice to be smaller. Painful , but nice...just a part of the journey.

Glad to see everyone here. Where is Lat?

Hello Otherhalf.   Welcome-we are sorry you had to come here, but we are very glad you did.  This is a wonderful family of people united by a horrible disease.  You will find a lot of love and support here.

What can we tell you?  When did your wife get dx?  What is her treatment plan (what chemo is she on?).

Are you worried about how you two will be able to function while on chemo?  Many of us can tell you that although chemo makes us feel lousy, we have been able to maintain our activities as usual.  Robin Roberts is a fantastic example of that.

Please let us know what we can help you through.  We are all happy to share stories, advice and ideas.

How are my sisters doing?  It is late and I have been literally shopping all day at Carson Pirie Scott-it was their Community Day today.  I sell coupons for cancer-related organizations each time they have this, and this year I am happy to say I am sending in the donations to our beloved bc.org!   Yay!

Love and prayers (especially to our dear Kim!), Deb

Wow!  Anna, that is fantastic news!  ML-you too!

I am writing with sad news.  My Dad died yesterday.  It was horrible, fast, unpredictable, and just plain awful.  It is a very long story, and I have to pack for his funeral tomorrow, but please pray for us-this is just the worst.

    Love and prayers, Deb

Deb my prayers are with you today. I understand what you are going through and have a shoulder if you need one.

The loss of a parent is awful...I miss my daddy so much. I was a daddy's girl, and there is a part of me that feels empty and will never be filled till I go to be home with the Lord.

Time will help, but take the time to grieve.

Such a rollercoaster of Nov girls' news.  I am so so sorry for your loss Deb.  I can't even imagine.  Will be thinking of you hon.................

And congrats to the grandmas!  Such a joy to know you will see the bringing in of new souls.

My latest news is good too. PET was clean and I get my port out Dec. 14th.  The news hasn't sunk in yet. But I feel like I have been given my get-outta-jail-free card.

Thinking of Kim.  Hoping she gets to sit by an open-fire with her family.
