Hi,
First I am glad I got to meet you if only for a minute. My one friend I met for lunch moved to Seaside Park last spring and it was the first time we got together.
After meeting you and talking I know I would have been most comfortable at the luncheon and will try to attend if there is another. I am glad you had your get together in such a lovely setting.
Carol, I am so happy about your bone scan results. You certainly deserve a celebration - tonight I will toast you with my wine.
Take care all,
Connie

Hey Friends, Can you say REMISSION, yes ladies, I am finished with chemo for now. I will only be getting my herceptin, which I have been getting weekly. I asked doc if I could go to the every 3 week program, and he's going to try it and see how I handle it. My PET scan showed NO activity at all anywhere in my body, so I thank all of you for your prayers and well wishes, I do believe in positive thought healing, so I will continue to pray for all of you, hoping we all stay healthy. Hugs and kisses , looking forward to seeing you again, and Carol I just may have my glass of vivo to celebrate too lol. Take care KLynn

Hi New Jersey gals. I'm from Ohio but have an invitation to speak in Newark NJ next week. I'm flying in and will be staying at the Robert Trent Hotel on Park Place near the Newark museum. I won't have a car at my disposal, but if anyone's nearby I have all Thurs afternoon and evening to myself -- a week from today, Oct. 25th.... speak on Fri and then fly home.
I've spoken to KitKat and Nancycl in chat and they are checking to see if their calendars might cooperate.
It would be fun to meet other survivors. Yesterday was my 6 month recall visit to surgeon, first apt since surgery/rads, and I've been given the all clear. Now to figure out how to reclaim my life!
-
Karen,
that is such great news-you have such a great attitude and are so strong! You looked fabulous and I am glad the reports match. Go celebrate!
Susan

faithandfifty- I hope you have a great trip out here and are able to connect with some of the Jersey Girls. The 25th is my dughters 16th Birthday so I will not be able to meet you. I have such a busy week next week, topped off with a Sweet 16 party on Friday. Carol
-
Thanks Susan, It's a great feeling to be coming off of the chemo after so long. Theres no promises of how long I will stay this way, but I will certainly enjoy the time off I have. Life is good now. Keep in touch Hugs---Karen
-
Hey Carol and Susan, Thinking about you---------How are you both doing????? Hope you are both feeling well. Carol how was the Sweet 16 party??? Lets plan another get together sometime before the holidays, maybe in the end of Nov or beginning of Dec. sometime, hows that sound??? Maybe if we plan it now, a few more ladies will be able to join us. I'm feeling much better off of the chemo, still alittle tired , but it will takes months before the drugs are out of my body. Just have to enjoy the time off while i can. Hugs KLynn

Hi Karen,
Another get together sounds great. Just let me know when and where. We had a blast on Friday. The party was great. My daughter got a Cadillac Escalade form her Uncle (my brother) so she was just beside herself. I am going to try to post a picture but my first attempt failed so I have to wait till she gets home from school.
-
Hey Carol, Wow things have really changed since we were 16!!!!!!!!!!! I think I had 10 girls sleep over, and I was still a girl scout, OMG how immature we were compared to our children. Glad you had such a good time. How did he give it to her????? Keys in a box????? Did he have it there at the party???? Thats one party she'll never forget, but boy you'll have a hard time topping that and coming up with a christmas present for her this year lol. Waiting to see the picture. Take Care Karen
-
Wow- a Cadillac! that is some uncle.
I am definitley up for another get together.
How about we start a new thread since this one is getting long? My schedule is open.
How about Dec 1 or 2? Red Bank?
Take care

Hey Susan, Nice to talk to you again, Yes Dec 1st.or 2nd sounds good to me. I will meet anywhere, I'm easy. Hope you're feeling well. Look forward to seeing you guys again. I'll mention it to KitKat if I see her in the chat, you do the same if you see her. I will also mention it to Candie but I haven't seen her in the chat much lately. Take care , talk to you soon. Karen

Hi Karen and Susan,
Things have definitely changed! I grew up with 6 kids in the family - that was all we needed for a party. We never went out anywhere - in fact I think the first time I had dinner out at a nice restaurant, I was on a date. The car is not new but it's only 2 years old so it's very nice - like new inside. I would never have gotten her a car but he wanted to do something nice and he's loaded so he gave it to her. She gave them one of the sixteen candles and then the last one to their son, her cousin. He handed her an envelope with the title and the keys. She was so shocked - it was really great to watch. She is a good kid, I will say that.
I am looking forward to our next get-together - I am free that weekend as far as I know so either day should work. Just let me know. Carol

-
Hey Carol, Wow you look fantastic!!!! Your daughter is beautiful!! Thats a great story about the car, one she'll never forget. The Escalade is nice and big and safe for her to start driving, its the worse day of your life when they start driving, its so hard to let them go off by themselves. Are they your sisters??? I think a see a resemblence there. Take Care Karen xo
-
They are both my sisters, I have 4. The one on the left and one not pictured both had bilateral mastectomies on Monday and both made it to the party on Friday. I was so happy they were there. My sister on the left, had a prophylactic mastectomy, the one not pictured has Stage 2B BC. She finished Chemo in September. Sister on the right has been clear but recently the Insurance Company denied her request for bilateral MRI's of the breasts. Said she wasn't high risk!
-
Carol, They had surgery on Monday and made it on Friday??? Thats really amazing, strong ladies. I'd like to know who at the ins. company gets to make that choice, dosen't seem fair, if it was his wife he'd feel different. Where did you have the party?? Take care -- Karen
-
Carol,
What a gorgeous family and such strong women! You look beautiful.
I am going to post a message about the Dec get together. Hope we get a good turnout!
See you soon
Susan

Thanks, we had a blast that night. We had the party at Jacques in Middletown. It was really nice. I had planned it when I was still in treatment and thinking that I wouldn't live long enough to see her get married. My attitude is much better these days! I am still so glad that I had the party though. It was really a special evening for all of us. I guess we'll shoot for Red Bank this time? Just let me know - hopefully we'll get more Jersey Girls to join us.
