Any chance we could move this farther south to maybe central Jersey? I unfortunately live in So Jersey.
Thanks,
Joanne

Hi Joanne,
Are you in theLong Branch area? There is a girl from that area coming...perhaps you can follow her up if you are not sure where Edison is.
Hugs and prayers,
Candie

We could consider Red Bank area. Might be easier for some of the South Jersey gals. (It is considered one of the 'hippest towns' in Jersey!) I am okay with whatever we decide. Would love to meet as many girls as possible. Carol
-
I was just in Red Bank a few weeks ago , they have really changed the center of town, there are so many places to eat there, and yes it's very "hip". I'm good for anywhere since I'm centrally located in the middle of the state, so wherever everyone chooses is good with me, just looking forward to meeting "the girls". So we have the day Oct. 13th now lets decide on a place and time.I say we try for an early meeting, like around 1:00 or 2:00, this way we can sit and bs all day, I'm sure we'll all have alot to talk about. Lets start a list of definates too , I'm a definate for the 13th. Hugs KLynn

I am in for the 13th- I am coming from Manalapan- Red Bank is good- I was just there ast week
Looking Forward to it

Hi everyone,
I guess Ocean City is the closest beach to South Jersey, or AC. The North Jersey beaches are a bit more of a hike such as Long Branch. If most of you are from North Jersey (I am from Maplewood originally) then that is probably the best place to get together.
Thanks
Joanne

I am a definite, wherever we decide to meet is fine by me. You can get to Red Bank by train also if that would make it easier for some of the girls who are further away. I can pickyou up at the train station which is only a couple of blocks from the center of town. Carol
-
Hi, I can go to either Edison or Red Bank. LBI would be a bit far but the WharfSide in Point Pleasant may be better for those coming from the south. Just keep me posted.
Thanks,
Connie

Okay friends how many of us are meeting on the 13th??? We need to pick a place now,and a time.Point Pls. is also very easy to get to for anyone coming from the south or north. easy to get to from the parkway.Once we have an idea where everyone is coming from it will make it easier to choose.I'm a definate for the 13th.Hugs KLynn
-
Ok, Me too - any town is okay with me - Point Pleasant is fine, Edison or Red Bank are fine. I'm in. Carol
-
Great Carol, looking forward to meeting you, this should be really fun.Hugs Klynn
-
Klynn, I am coming from North Jersey--so where are we meeting?
-
HI Candie my chat room friend, We really need to pick a place now so that whoever else is thinking of coming can make a decision, what do you think??? Point Pleasant would be a good idea for anyone coming from the south, but I don't know how many are actually coming from the south or north. Lets just pick a place and time and hope for the best. I will go anywhere in the state , the Wharfside in PP is nice too, easy to get to from the parkway.HELP! Hugs KLynn.

Hi again,
I live in Norther Bergen County right near the NY state line so the first place mentioned in Edison was great for me. Red Bank or Pt Pleasant will do too. If it is Red Bank, I hope someone picks a place with a lot of parking - it is a busy town and I have never learned how to back into a spot. LOL
I hope you guys looking at this will indicate your wishes. I just hope we do get to have a meeting.
In summary, my vote is anyplace from Pt. Pleasant north with parking.
Connie

Hi Connie, I'm with you, lots of parking is a good thing. the Wharfside as you mentioned has plenty of parking , they have an open lot across the street from the restaurant. Well lets make it Point Pleasant Wharfside on Sat. the 13th. at how about 2:00.This way it will give everyone a chance to get there not too early and not too late so that if we want to talk all day into the evening we can lol.So far thats 3 of us Candie, Connie and Karen(KL). I think it will be really nice to have a face to go with all of our chatting, and it will help us feelmore comfortable talking or asking for help , if we need it with each other. The friends here have all been wonderful.I will pass on the info to the other Jersey ladies if I can the more the merrier. Hugs KLynn.

Excellent Susan glad you can make it, I am away on vacation this week so I will be checking in to see who is coming and if there are any changes. Have a nice week everyone. Klynn
-
Hi, Have been checking each day to see if anyone has signed up for this on the 13th. I got a nice invite to something on the 13th but will go to this get together if there are people meeting. Is there any interest from anyone except the 3 of us.?? I have to decide by Wed. so will keep checking.
Hope you are all doing well. I got a call yesterday saying I do not have the BRAC genes - very happy but my primary insurance said they would not pay and I sent in a form saying NO to the $3200 cost so that has me a bit worried. Dr. said not to be concerned - if I signed the form they cannot bill me. Anyway, my sister is thrilled - she is a 13 year survivor and so happy for her children.
Have a great weekend.
Connie

Hi Ladies,
KLynn I just pm'd you; I thought if it was late enough on the 13th I could come (I have to be at a fair all day), but it's now in Pt Pleasant, I think? It's such a great place, but too far for me to just shoot over. Have a great time girls!!

Hi Ladies - I just wanted you to know I won't be able to make it Saturday.
I mentioned in my previous post that I am leaving on vacation Sunday and I have too much to do.
The drive to Pt.Pleasant is at least an hour one way for me and I know once I start talking I won't want to leave.
So have a drink for me and enjoy the day. Please post afterwards, I would love to hear how it went.Valerie
Connie - congrats on the news, definitely a reason to have a drink on Saturday!!! lol.

Hi, It seems only three maybe four are going and all seem farther north than Pt. Pleasant. Perhaps we could pick another weekend where more could attend or move it north - back to Edison or RedBank. Pt. Pleasant is lovely but a good 1 1/2 hours from me. Also, it seems like you guys know each other at least from Chat or the boards so with such a small group, I may not feel comfortable.
Will give it more thought.
Connie

Hi Connie , Yes it does seem that there are only 3 or 4 of us, but I believe none of us have ever met before, only talked to Candie in the chat room, so you will be as comfortable as the rest of us. Please know you are always invited. With that being said, it does seem like everyone is backing out, don't know if its the time of year or the place but I'm still looking forward to meeting if anyone else is interested. If not we could always reschedule another time. I have a feeling this will always be hard to do. Any suggestions from anyone ?? Not sure if Susan and JoAnne are still in. I'll keep Sat. open. Hugs all KLynn
-
Hi KLynn,
I have been reading but not posting much lately. It does seem that a lot are backing out. Whatever you decide to do is okay by me. I can go if we are all still interested or we can try to find another date. I agree, we all have busy lives so sometimes it's tough to get away. I will continue reading and I am still available to go if we are up for it. Carol -
Great Carol!!!So thats Carol, Connie , Candie and me Klynn, with a good chance of Susan and Joanne, not too bad. I'm thinking it sounds like a good afternoon.Check -in anyone else?? Tflowers where are you , you started this get together hoping to see you too! Hugs KLynn

Hi Ladies
Sorry I'm not going to be able to join you this time but Saturday os a Metastatic BC Conference in NYC. I've not been on the site for a while and it took me awhile to think to check this thread. I hope everyone is doing well.

Hello there,
I have decided that I will not attend this get together. It is a long drive - 1 1/2 to 2 hours and have been so tired. The radiation left me with this stupid immune system mess - will stick around for another couple of months per doctor. Also have another yeast infection under my arm. They do not tell you these things.
I have looked at your profiles (those going to lunch) and read many posts. You have all been through so much. What brave ladies. I tried to join a support group a couple of months ago when I was so down and was rejected because I "only had DCIS". Maybe you would feel that I could not relate to you - never had chemo or lost my hair. Anyway, I wish all who post on this board many years of happiness.
Connie (Darby is my Scottie)
PS. I would not be good company anyway - not sure what is wrong.
Have fun
