Yay,glad you are home Sue. Nice to see you post. And it is a nutty hormonal, weepy, laughing, weak, feel sorry for yourself, feel glad to be alive all in the same moment time and it is surprising is it not that the pain is nowhere near what you might have imagined.

(((((Gentle Huggggssssss)))))) to you and your boys.

I am just thinking about hotflashes honeygirl. Prior to "all" this, I was having the pre menopausal symptoms - still regular as clockwork but hot flashes, mood swings - different lengths of cycle kinda icky things.

On my surgery day (also right side modified radical mast.- no reconstruction) I was in OR and recovery for5 hours (blood pressure issue for me and morphine too) and I had to get up out of bed to go to the toilet.. cossssssssss you got it - My period arrived 7 days early. Then it stopped for two weeks and came back. I blamed it on all the surgery. I thought, oh well at least I am through with that until after chemo which was two weeks later.. unh unh... oh no.. Day 1of chemo the 27th of Sept. guess what arrived just after I received the first ativan of my life at the cancer clinic pre- treatment.

Yesterday a mere 11 days later... guess who is bleeding like a stuck pig. NOW - I have heard of chemo PAUSE but this appears to be chemo FAST FORWARD. However, the reason I bring all this up... lol... slow to the point... I have not had a hot flash for nearly two months!!!!!! And yes, your hormones take on a mind of their own. At least it seems so to me anyway!!!!!!!!

Nice to have you back Sue, I look forward to your posts everyday.

You should be sleeping in the middle of the night right now.... hope you wake up feeling not quite so "melted" hehehehe.

Hi sweet Sue, yeah, I always have trouble with the dang anesthesia, feel foggy, and such. And now with a chest thingy, you have every right to feel down.

But listen, you are not going to die. There are literally thousands of us out here who have been through treatment and are just fine. I mean that. I am 9 years post treatment, and in my small bible class, when I told them, way back when, the class only has about 25 members, 3 gals piped up. One was 22 years post treatment, one 17 and one 11. I was shocked, no one had ever said a word. Add 9 years to all those numbers, as each and every one of these women are still just fine.

My mom's best friend (my mom died 12 years ago of a stroke) is 94, lives alone, plays contract bridge, and is a survivor of a double mast back in 1958! All they had then was Cobalt.

You will get well, you will do fine. This is not a fatal disease for about 90% of us. A lot better percentage than heart disease. The word cancer just scares us all. Partly because for so many years nothing much could be done, but that has all changed.

So try not to let those worries get you down, you will be around for many, many years.

    Love you, sweetie, Shirlann

Shirlann...thankyou....you are always around when I am down...I will just phone my docs again...the receptionist was real curt before...bet I have given her an extra work load....

But really thankyou..I have been laid up all day and my mind is working over over over time....I read too many sad stories today about the cruel disease...

I hope my lump is in a tube disintergrating with as great a agony as it has caused my family and I...

Sorry everyone....I am a bad bad patient xx

Are you going to give a sample and get an antibiotic Sue?

You're doctor's office should have you come right over and get a culture done. Post op infections are nothing to fool around with. Stay on top of the office, watch for fever, drink cranberry juice if you have some, and/or take a little extra Vitamin C.

Best to speak with the nurse, so they can have you come, or go to the hospital's outpatient lab.

Sorry this just adds to your discomfort. How are you doing with your arm? Does it hurt a lot to move it? Soon we try to start "climbing the wall" with our fingers: just standing at a door frame, and starting at your height slowly start moving your affected arm fingers up the frame, inching higher and higher a little each day. Keeps the tendons stretching, etc..

    Thinking much about you,

    Tender

I had bilat June and there is still a small area under the left arm and the right has tingly feeling all way to the elbow. sometimes the numbness will go away, sometimes it will stay. It just depends on how much damage was done to the nerve during the node biopsy.

Sue, sorry to hear you are in such bad pain.

Here in the states  lumpectomies are done as an outpatient.   I remember when I had mine on the way home I made my DH pull over so I could throw up!!!  Yep, I did it right on the side of a very busy street.  Darn anesthesia. When we got home I went to kiss him to thank him for being there for me and he pulled away!!!  He reminded me I hadn't cleaned my mouth out yet!!!  LOL.  I was a zombie.

Just don't forget to drink, drink and drink some more, water that is!! They'll be plenty of time later to hit the pub!!

It must be after 8 there, so get some rest.

    TTYS,

    Valerie

Hi Sue , I am so sorry to hear you have an infection. I hate those. You are right , they make you feel miserable and edgy. Tender is right , drink plenty of cranberry juice and water. I'm so glad they called in your script without you having to go see them. Do you have a fever? I hope not. Just try to lay down and rest. Remember , one day at a time. Try not to read anymore things that upset you. You will start feeling better , real soon. It is just going to take a little time. Hugs to you and you boys. Oh , I was glad to see your dad was able to come see you. I hope he is doing good with his treatment. Take care , MelodySmile

Thinking the worst isn't uncommon at this point, although we hope you can be optimistic.

It's kind of like the glass is half full or half empty, depending a bit on your personality. But I found the wait until the tests results were back to be a challenge. Any chance you might consider a anti worry pill or mood booster? Hate to see you suffer when there are good medicines to help.

    Glad to see you eating.

ahhh...a cup of brew always helps. A walk , if you are up to it , sounds fabulous. Will it be a "city" walk , or a "country" walk?
