Our quotable LuAnn!
So I'm sitting at lunch reading More magazine's October features on BC and LuAnn's name jumps out! Giiiiirl, you are just being quoted all over the place these days! Of course, I'm sure you'd opt to forego the fame in order to be healthy and NED, but it's great that you are able to give voice to the experience of recurrence/mets.
Here's a link to the article:

LuAnn, you little stinker. Loved your attitude.
Thanks, Marin, for posting the link. It is a great reminder to keep ourselves positive whatever may happen. I so admire all the ladies.
Did you notice Dr. Blackwell had a quote. And there was someone else from bc.org.

Marin, I had laid kind of low on this article and there you go have me all over the place
I really liked this article. I was happy to see someone finally recognize mets. All the awareness ads like to pretty up breast cancer and make it seem as if you do your self exams and mammos that you will not have to worry about breast cancer. Absolutely makes me angry. I was 36 at dx which is years before my mammos should have started and I found the lump myself. I called the doctor immediately after it was found, did more aggressive tx than necessary so I wouldn't have to worry about this anymore. Look where it got me..... I would love to see more money put into research now than all these silly commercials. Oh well, that is my little vent. On the upside, hats off to More Magazine for a very nice breast cancer piece.

LuAnn, I so agree with you.
If women knew half of what we know (after being dxd) they'd be scared right out of their pants. Heck, I didn't know there were different kinds of bc. I'm still learning. And mets. Whoever gives much thought to it? I did after my onc gave me the low down on dandelions and weed killer and dandelions popping up in different places, etc, etc. Scared the heck outta me. When I heard the words, "pre-op chemo, oncologist, scans" my head was spinning. I thought I'd see the surgeon, he'd take out the cancer and I'd be done. Yeah, right!
I think the article was great.
