Totall O/T: Britney
So maybe someone can clear this up for me....How is it that Britney Spears was completely bald a year ago and now has a long mane of greasy , bleached blonde hair, complete with dark roots????! Absolutely no one in the media has picked up on this, despite the efforts to criticize everything about this girl. Maybe it's just that my former baldness makes me hyperaware of this question, but I figured I'd find some like-minds right here among my sister former baldies. How about it, girls? What's up with that???

She shaved her head during of a temper tantrum last year. And of course there were cameras present to capture the moment.

I think she had extensions put in. Because she did not lose her hair to chemo, any new growth would probably be strong enough to hold the extensions. I have been watching her and I have seen weird clumps when her hair is pulled back. That also explains the roots too.
-
I think Newter's on the right track. She would have some "decent" growth and I know I read in the "rags" (when at the hair salon) that she was sporting various wigs; the latest I think is extensions. On the whole, it looks pretty ratty and horrid. She'd be better off just having her own short hair and letting it grow naturally. She seems to be off the rails right now anyway...don't think she's "thinking" too clearly!
-
I agree with newter, hair extensions dyed to look that way. My friend is a hair stylist and she has people want their hair colored blonde with dark roots added afterwards---- (she refuses)... go figure.
-
It is hair extensions and the media usually focus's in on how bad they look. From a distance her hair looks nice most times, the minute the camera goes up close it is a mess! Although she is a walking mess.....but thats a whole other story LOL
-
Marin-- you've just missed the media about her extensions. TMZ poked so much fun at the headband she would wear to cover her terrible weave job, that they nicknamed her headbands brittney's weaveguard.
They make fun of her hair all the time--
Truthfully, I feel bad for her. Everyone wants to talk about what a trainwreck she is, but to keep getting up every day, and facing the world, and the massive papparrazi mess that stalks her every move--she's got to have strength and courage.
Its sad that her life is falling apart, and and that people want to see her fail.
I'm not really a fan of her music, but I just feel bad for the girl. She could make all the money in the world, and I still would never trade lives with her.
-
I think the extensions show what an attention getter she is.
If she'd shaved her head for some "turn over a new leaf" reason then she'd get a new look, and move on. But instead she gets those ratty extensions, looking like she always did, and being the same screwed up person.
I watched that clip of her on MTV and she was so lame.
-
poor girl-- just lost custody of her kids...
could it get any worse?
-
I feel the same way you do Beth. I'm old enough to be her mother and I feel like taking her under my wing and helping her to pull it together. Living life in the lens all the time she's a cross between wanting attention and not knowing what to do with it. She needs help and she needs people who care about her helping her get it. To lose her children? A blow most assuredly, but for now, lets hope it is the right move for the children first of all and for Britney to get her lifle back into order. It's really heart breaking.
-
Yeah, it's Really too bad she's no longer the practically naked young woman with the world at her feet role model all the young girls aspire to be like and all the young/middle age women didn't give a crap about. I just hope her younger sister doesn't follow in her footsteps. Poor Britney. Please.
Oops, I did it again ...
-
Well I guess she has alot more to worry about now than her hair. I'm glad that the court seems to be looking out for the children, but why isn't someone insisting that Britney actually get psychological help (besides the parenting therapy the court prescribed)? She is clearly a very troubled child herself....and I say 'child' because she's not much older than my own daughter. Like where's her family in all this? I know she rejected her mother, but there must be someone who cares about her...?
And BTW, for the record, I've been a huge fan of hers and have most of her albums (yes, I'm serious y'all!)

I don't have much empathy for Britney. She has continually chose her her wreckless life style over the safety of her children and was given ample opportunity to turn her life around. Instead of taking the opportunity to make the most out of rehab, she came out of it angry at those who pushed her toward getting help and alienated those people. While I recognize people often have to be ready to get sober, Brintey has repeatedly thumbed her nose at all efforts to help her. Those kids shouldn't be placed at risk.
I hope this is the wake up call she needs, but that the judge acts very slowly in allowing her any unsupervised visits with her kids.
-
I think Britney's whole problem is that she has never had a normal life, and desperately wants one. She was a Mouseketeer before she became a pop star, so she's always been in the public eye. She tried to be normal by getting married and having kids, but it has backfired in a big way. She has been scrutinized and criticized for everything, from the way she dresses to the way she cared for her children. Good grief, the critics even made fun of her "bulge" that showed at the MTV awards. May I be blessed with such a bulge! I can't help it, I feel sorry for her. I think she has been used as a cash cow by her managers, her parents, her husband, everyone around her, and never given any real guidance. The constant glare of cameras would have to be horrible. I think we can't even begin to imagine how hellish her life is.
-
I lost respect for Britney many years ago. Her parents spent alot of money to get her started and on the road to a career. Instead of paying those debts off with her money she let her parents file bankruptcy. Just doesn't seem right considering the amount of money she makes.
Personally, I don't really care what these people do but the stories can be very entertaining when I am bored.
As for the MTV awards, she is by no means fat, but I do think she chose the wrong outfit for trying to impress the world again.
-
I heard she shaved her head because she heard that they could test for drugs by using a hair sample and she didn't want to get caught. Not sure if its true or not.
Also not sure how I feel about her. Being around people with addictions I know its not an easy thing to overcome but at the same time I just want to smack her and say WAKE UP!!
I think she needs to hit rock bottom before she can get back up to the top.

She's pretty self-centered.
Seems like the judge decided he'd had enough of her.
-
Maybe this will help her hit rock bottom that much faster. It may take something like loosing her kids to realize she's got problems and is now in no shape to be anybody's mom.
I hope she gets the help she needs... -

This woman has been told nothing but yes since she was a child. How is she supposed to know anything about being a responsible adult. Her parents seem to be worthless, as do her managers. She has no education, class and seems little talent.
But she does seem to have a great deal of money and plenty of people to continue to agree with anything she wants -- except perhaps the judge.
Maybe that's the best thing for those children, but I doubt the father is in any way a good thing for them either.
-
I don't thinkwe can judge the father based on what we've heard in the media in the past.
-
I think the father's actions are all too clear, it couldn't be more obvious if it was written across the sky.

I think Kevin stepped up to the plate when he needed to, which can't be said for Britney thumbing her nose at the court orders. People can change, sometimes for the better, sometimes for the worse. I think it says a lot that Britney's mother only gets to see the kids when they are with Kevin, since Britney has alienated all of her supporters (apparently she doesn't like when they tell her she needs help).
-
I think Kevin was a jerk for getting involved with Britney when he was still involved with someone else who was pregnant with his child. I think he was after fame and her money. I still think that.
But being a money-grubbing, talentless bum and being an a** in his relationships with women does not mean that he's not a good father. Even his ex says that he's a great dad to their two kids. And he does seem to have stepped up to the plate to fill in as Britney has floundered. While he might not be as much in the public eye as she is, I think that with everything that's been going on, if he were out carrousing at 2:00 a.m. with his kids in the back seat, we would hear about it. Instead, from what I have heard, when he has his kids he stays home and he's a responsible parent. That's a whole lot better than Britney's parenting. And I don't buy that her age, her inexperience, her bad childhood, etc. is an excuse. She's a self-centered, drug and alcohol addicted disaster. That's the problem. That's why the children shouldn't be with her.
-
Well her new music video was leaked on the internet today. I have yet to see it but did read she can start a career as a stripper if her music doesn't rebound.
I just think this goes to show what a child does with too much money.

What's really said is that Britney can afford the best of care for as long as she needed. If she still had custody, she could have afforded to pay someone to care for the kids while she went. Most single mothers could not. Most people couldn't afford treatment for as long as needed above and beyond detox and 30 days. Britney chooses not to avail herself of these things. She is chosing her addiction(s) over her kids.
-
I do feel sorry for her and don't think she has had the opportunity to grow up and mature as anyone else her age would. Her addictions are destroying her family and her career. Addiction is a disease, not a choice and the diseased person isn't always aware that they need help....I think between drugs and alcolhol she probably doesn't have a moment where she is sober enough to actually think clearly. I do hope she gets some help before it is too late. I also think the judge was right in removing the children from her custody for their safety. I think she loves her children but is too much of a child herself and too deeply into drugs and alcohol to have a clue as to what reality is.

Addiction is chosen over family or anything or anyone else. It's not an excuse for her. Like Liz said, the kids are better off without her at this point.
Addiction destroys relationships. I so hope she gets help before she ends up like some other celebrities...DEAD!

Well I heard on some tv program that she makes around $750,000.00 per MONTH! Every leach and drug pusher in LA will be hanging around her. She needs to leave California and get back to her roots....while receiving counseling for her many unresolved problems. She is going down the same insane road that so many other Hollywood child stars have gone down before her. You would think someone down in LA could get through to her. I wonder if she is using cocaine ($$$) or the street drug Meth. I know that during her concerts she always had to have her Starbucks Coffee and these young ones like to drink energy drinks along with their alcohol drinks........just crazy. So my bet is on her using a SPEED type drug....which could keep her up for days.....and have her doing some really crazy things. The children definately do not need to be with her at this time.....and the father seems to offer the most stable home at this time. Britt always talked about wanting to have a baby......she sounded like some of those 14 year olds who wanted a baby until they were given a doll to take care of 24/7 to show them what goes into caring for a child. She should have tried be a mother with a doll that cried and demanded its diaper change, to be fed, or just cuddled......maybe if she had experienced that for a month.....she might have thought more before bringing children into her life at this time.
