I'm sorry I made such a fuss. The site was shocking after what we were used to.But BCO has been working hard, and has corrected a lot.(Thank you).

The site is still too slow, IMHO. I dislike having to log in every few hours. And I dislike not being able to click on the last poster's name and be transported to the end of the thread, where I can read backwards, newest first.(Yes BCO has added an option "last".But one has to click in to the thread (wait..)then wait til the new page loads. In olden days, you could just click on the last name before entering the thread.)

But for the most part, really no biggie.I was here COMPLAINING, after all.I can DO this.(And I'm not even a computer maven.)

After besting being dx w/bc, the surgery, the hard chemo, the rads, AND taking this $#@!!(*&^^ Femara for 3 and 1/2 years so far, I can certainly put up with a little change.

I'm old. but not stupid, or rigid.

Sorry, BCO, and everyone.

BIG thanks to Dear Fumi, whose tutorials are great!{{{Fumi}}}.

JoA

Joan:  BCO is working on another change that you'll like ...  it will take you to the last unread post when you open the thread ..  it's getting better each day ...

my two biggies are the unread post (above)  and some organization to the topics ...

there are many other changes being made ...   I think it will be a good site again ... its' just going to take some time and patience on our parts.

the boards have been slow -   I've heard of many who can no longer login and are having trouble due to old computers ...  I hope they can all find their way back soon.

    Thanks, Doreen!That sounds great!!

If people truely can't find their way back, it'll be because they dont want to be here.

No fear.To the newbies, the site will be fine--they've never known any other!

And the site will be better than ever-without game-players and people with other agendas.

    Thanks again.

No need to apologize, Joan. Believe it or not, when I first came here after the changes, I was very confused and a little upset. I only didn't post to complain because I didn't want  to scare first-timers or newbies. I can be a huge gutter mouth. *lol*

I have just been doing what I think is my part of support. It's been over two years since I joined here, but I have never had much to offer. Since I'm such a happy-go-lucky mini 'Zilla, I have not experienced any major side effects from all treatments even though I did a "full course" and am still doing (two sets of 12 x weekly Taxol and 4 x EC followed by rads, now on Lupron and Tamox). All I could say is like "Taxol was not a big deal" "EC didn't really torture me" "I only get very mild hot flashes from Tamox" blah blah blah ... and this may make me look like I belittle other people's concerns. I have always wanted to offer support but didn't really had a chance.

But with the upgrades, I can offer help as a techie person. To complain about things is easy but what's done is done. We have to accept the changes and move forward because no matter how much you dislike the new forum, many women have to be newly diagnosed every day and they desperately need support. If we all left here or stopped posting because of the changes, who could help them? So I am trying to help people get used to the new forum. Hopefully some will benefit and continue helping those who need it.

    Hugs,

Fumi -  you're doing a  great job  ... and I don't think that you're saying "Taxol was not a big deal"  "EC didn't really torture me" belittles anyone ...  I think it gives someone who is just starting down the road HOPE that their experience might be similar ...   it's just as important to have the stories of people with no or minimial side effects as the stories of those who have really had to deal with a lot  ... that helps to balance things out.

I've always felt that you have such a positive attitude and your support is genuine and compassionate ...     I think its' wonderful that you're helping people with the tech problems getting back to the site.

Big hugs to you, my sister!

As Fumi said, I did not complain, I was giving the Admin time to work through the problems that come with computer change. I work in an IT department as the support desk and I know all the problems that come with upgrades and how people like to complain to the IT dept about why did you change the program, I liked it the way it was. The new posters to the site will not know all the frustrations that we have gone through with this conversion, just remember that it will be better in the end.

I think they're doing pretty good.

The organization of the topics is the thing that bothers me most now, but I can appreciate that it might take some thought to implement, and maybe even bringing the site down.

I've only recently noticed the new icons on the edit message box. I'm glad to see a way to insert a link 'cause that was something I'd noticed wasn't working but I hadn't said anything about it.

Joan, no need to apologize.  We ALL have to get used to changes.  The mods are doing a great job.  I now can see who started a post.

For you (and me and perhaps others).  Laughing Sealed

Yep, it takes me a while to get the hang of stuff.  Thanks, Fumi, for helping me with this.

That was a joke Joan.  LOL

I see other changes too.  We can see where people live if they so choose to share, number of posts, who started the post, and probably stuff I've missed.  With the lights on I sometimes cannot see (Maxine's right!).  Laughing
