May all the victims be remembered as heros and never be forgotten. R.I.P.

"Mama Will Hold Me" by Kristi Nelson

Daddy didn't come home last night
And he won't be back next year
There's an empty place at our table now
And our eyes are wet with tears

How could I have known what would happen that day
When our nation's freedom was tried
A hateful act brought our buildings down
    And innocent people died

Oh Lord, I miss my Daddy
    keep him safe for me
Hold him in Your arms tonight
    And Mama will hold me.

When he waved goodbye I never thought
That's that last of him I'd see
And when he drove away to work that day
    My dad was leaving me

Oh Lord, I love my Daddy
    keep him safe for me
Hold him in Your arms tonight
    And Mama will hold me.

Later on he called my mother
    And said his last goodbye
He told her that he loved her
    And she began to cry

    Though some say daddy's gone
    I know he's right here
    Watching over all of us
And we've no need to fear

Oh Lord, I miss my Daddy
    Keep him safe for me
Hold him in Your arms tonight
    And Mama will hold me

Oh Lord, I love my Daddy
    Keep him safe for me
Hold him in Your arms tonight
    And Mama will hold me
Hold him in Your arms tonight
    And Mama will hold me

I'll never forget as I woke up and turned on the tv ... Pacific Time. I watched in confusion as the 1st WTC imploded.  I will never forget thinking that it was done on "purpose" ... ie by a construction crew like in Vegas and there was a new one to take it's place.  I even said, "They imploded the WTC." .... Seconds later, I could see the pandemonium on tv and that it was done on purpose but by the bad guys.

May the spirits of the victims find peace.  May all of our spirits find peace.

I can't help but think of all of the victims, friends and relatives who, like the day we all heard our own awful news, will never forget the moments when, for them, time froze and their lives changed forever.

Yesterday I watched Oprah tape live in NYC.  The show will air today.

It's about the children of 9-11.  It was a really moving day.  The audience was full of first responders, FDNY, and NYPD.

Please watch it if you can.

Fumi, that was beautiful.  Made me cry.

The people who lost loved ones on 9/11, and those who were near or around the towers and Pentagon will never forget this day.  I believe most of us felt very safe and secure in our country before that day.  I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing.

This morning I looked at my clock.  It said, 9/11.  It almost gave me chills.

I have a friend who lost her niece on United 93. Deora Bodley. Too young, in her twenties. I met her a few weeks earlier.

Sad day that I will never forget.
