TIME TO CIRCLE THE WAGONS GIRLS
Comments

Hey Jas........my daughters band teacher says that girls don't sweat they just glisten.........so I guess you won't be glistening today but will be nice and cool..........
-
Morning All (still morning in my neck of the woods).
So out of the loop on everything that is happening in the Circle. Still a tremendous amount of stress at work and waiting on word from DC
Alwayshope...congrats on keeping your leg....airconditioning is a MUST in the south and can be very expensive to fix
Vickie, Nate is starting school!!! Give him a hug and wish him luck......
I was looking for word from Amy.....hummm...anyone heard from her
I know that Liz has a CT today and Shirley....sure hope we hear something soon
Angel, I agree with what was said....your child will remember the good moments...the hugs and love
CY-now you have me worried......please slow down and take care of yourself
Nicki, congratulations on the twins birth....oh, to have babies in the family is fantastic
Deb, my, what a scare!! Glad everything is okay. Two of my daughters ran cross country (one had asthma so I always met her at the finish line with her inhaler)...and nothing (except a lightening storm) cancelled a meet.. We were state champions 2 years in a row...love, love, love cross country meets.
NS, thank you for our home away from home. How are you today?
Denise, did I read you had a dentist appointment....YULK....good luck
Margaret, hope you post wedding pictures soon
Hi Donna a/k/a Casino Girl...
Shokk-wow, is it a cool/cold front going through you area? I heard (on the weather report) that we may have temps as low as 65 Saturday morning......can't wait for lower temps...still in the high 90's. Do you know if your jury duty is for a criminal or civil trial?
Cheri, glad you received the mail. I am also having a problem keeping up with everyone.
Sheri, Happy Birthday. Sure hope you hear some good news from Jacob today.
Hi there Tricia
MB, what do you think of the changes to the board......have you seen the "Oh Dear" lady yet?
Odalys, the new website changes drove me crazy the first few days
Beth, one of the great things about being OLD is that the kids are Grown and GONE....I used to HATE the school wake-up calls-the made rush to get dressed and out the door
Karen, so sorry you have having problems....I would definitely check out the issue of waking up at night to have to go the the bathroom.....bladder infection?
Jenni-did received your squares on Saturday, thank you
Well, lunch break is almost over, so no more time on the boards till tonight. I will try to stop in every so often to check on word from Amy, Liz and Shirley
Hugs from A to Z... know I missed many-but just have not been able to catch up for the last few weeks
-
Hey Ladies (and Peter)
Amy posted over at the rental. Drop by and give her a hug...she needs to be int he center of the circle right now...

It took 3 times to get that to post! What am I doing wrong??? You guys all seem to be getting the hang of things here....why can't I?? Grrr...

Quickie here, got to fix us some lunch before I can 'play'. Our marine son called last night to tell us his surgery has been moved to October sometime due to his surgeon going on emergency leave.
CALIFORNIA GIRLS...we are still taking the planned trip to San Diego so the lunch meet is still on for the 22nd.
-
NICKI>what a way to start a Monday morning! Thanks for the info on John in C! Sounds like something we'd both like!
ALWAYS HOPE>whew glad you were able to get another ac. Us gals with hot flashes are blessed to have AC!
DENISE>I hate the dentist! I have a couple of front teeth needing work bad but I keep putting it off. He has to dope me up pretty good to work on me. I've had alot of work done on them the past few years. Insurance sucks on dental when it barely pays for part of one crown a year!
SHOKK>I seem to have my crying jags while watching the movies/tv shows.
Its raining here too today.
-
OK Wild Jan...we will see you here for lunch !!
-
Good afternoon everyone!
Just a quick check in. It seems like there is a lot going on here. Thank goodness the font is bigger. I was ready to get stronger bi-focals, LOL!
CY, what are we going to do with you? I think you are pushing yourself way too hard. Slow down or I'm going to sit you down and give you a good talkin' to!
Denise, I love your new avatar.
Jas, Thank goodness you got that ac fixed.
Hey Cheri berry, what's goin' on?
Wild/Jan, is that a good thing that your son's surgery was rescheduled?
Nicki, I'm sorry! I missed that you had two new babies in your life! Congratulations!!! Twins are the best!
I've been running my butt off today. I had to follow my DH to the Ford dealer to drop off his truck, then take him to work. I just got back from picking him up and getting the truck. I have to do it all over again tomorrow morning with the RV. I have an Excedrin Headache
.
Good luck to all who have scans today. I will try to check back later.
Hugs!

Hi everyone, just got home and need to read back. I did see where Amy got some crappy news. I so hate this disease.
I'll be back in awhile.
Hugs
-
Hi everyone. I am glad to see that several of you are back from Gina's rental. I got signed up there last night but then got to tired to post.
Dh and I purged our bedroom yesterday. We are getting ready for a yard sale so we got rid of 7 boxes of stuff. Mostly clothes but some other junk too. My closets are clean and we rearranged the furniture. We need to paint but were not ready to do that yet. We have to scrape that popcorn crap off the ceiling first. That job is for another week-end.
Charlene-I can relate so much to your story about holding your little ones. After my bilateral with tram I couldn't even play with my boys like we used to for months. I did not even want them to sit on my bed for a long time. My littlest was so upset when his dad told him he could not kiss me on the lips while I was going through chemo. He loves to kiss on the lips. We do it all the time now that we don't have to worry about me getting sick. It will get better sweety.
Wild/Jan-We shall see you next week. Will you be coming back for your son's surgery?
Well I don't have time to address everyone but please know I am thinking of you.
-
Amy - so sorry to hear about the lung mets. CRAP!!!!! I hate this disease. We will help you kick those cancer cells good bye.
Nicki - congrats on the twins. I hope you can post a pic soon.
Speaking of posting pics, I followed Fummi's instructions but the picture does not come out. Are we to copy the "direct link" code for the picture we want from photobucket? I did but when I paste it there is a text box but no picture. Anyone know what I'm doing wrong? I really miss posting clip art and pictures.

Evening all!!
I have only read the the last page. I don't know what it is about the background on here but it really makes my eyes hurt if I am reading for awhile. Gonna go grab a bite to eat.
Just wanted to say hi to everyone - been posting on the other site and have missed many of you. Are they going to change the background or is this it??

Hey All
I'm still not sure if any of my posts have made it, I keep getting the Oh Dear lady. Sorry I've been MIA, just been busy and also in a funk, and when I do get here and then can't post it was bumming me out.
I'm going to try to read back a bit to catch up on what's going on. Hope everyone is hanging in there. I don't know how to find my PM mailbox, but I'm looking for it.
Love to you all
-
Okey-Dokey,
It's beginning to look like the old home place again. Thanks, Melissa, for your attention to our concerns.

Crap Amy! I was reading that the Abraxane Avastin combo is also having good results for lung mets. I pray they find the right mix for you and can get you back dancing with NED asap!
Ok before you all yell at me for working 10.5 hours today I feel a ton better! Hubby was sick Friday and I think I may have got what he had yesterday. (several gals where he worked where like that during the week) I woke up feeling really good this morning.
My INR is up to a level that I can stop the daily shots! so now I only have three shots a week of the nuepogen.
Scott was on the phone to me every half hour yesterday making sure I was functioning until I got home where he promtly put me to bed.
I'm running out of sickleave and am trying to hold onto my vacation time so I really can't take off work. (it's my job that pays the mtg and medical ins). Besides no one else knows my job and my job can shut the mill down if it's not done!
We did get a new gal in today that I will be training to be my back up but that takes weeks to do.
I always start the week working as many hours as I can cuase I never know how chemo is going to make me feel the last two days. I promise I won't work as many hours tomorrow
But I do plan to hit the gym with my sister and she won't let me over do it. I've still got about 60 plus pounds to take off. and I want to work out to help keep my strength up
-
Jazz .. LOL
Shokk .. that's good "girls don't sweat they just glisten" .. I'm going to borrow that one
BMD .. Thank you, what a sweet story about your boys. I'm so glad you're kissing your littlest boy on the lips again! I just want all this behind me before the kids get much older. That's great about cleaning house and having a yard sale. You can get rid of all that junk and make some money too!
Brenda .. The background bothers my eyes also.CY .. Just Please pay attention to your body ... don't get to the point of passing out again! You're amazing but pushing to much and you won't have any choice but to take time off work. That's great that you're down to three shots a week!
Colleen .. I was going to send you a myspace msg to get you to Gina's but I see you found your way over there.I responded earlier to a lot of posts from here on Gina's site. This is getting confusing lol
See if my picture comes through since so many are having problems... -
I promise I will slow down some. I didn't getting anything done on the bathroom and won't for a few weeks now. Have BBQ planned at DD's this weekend and the Fair next weekend with my girls and the spouses. I will get a wheel chair just so that I have to take it easy.
-
Hi Charlene - I hope you are feeling better. I kept thinking about you and your darling baby girl today. Heartbreaking what both of you are going through. May God heal you quickly so you can hug and craddle your baby girls.
Yes, your picture came through. I'm starting to feel a little tech challenged right now as I can't get my pictures to post. I cut and past the direct link code on the edit image window and click insert but all I get is a square box and no picture. grrrrrr.
Good night all. Pleasant dreams.
-
CY ... good for you, you Do need to rest when you are able!
Odalys ... Bless you, you are so kind, and thank you. I'm drinking some wine and it's making me feel better! You have pleasant dreams also!
-
Cy - you are always so upbeat, that if you are complaining, you must be wiped out. Please do take care of yourself. Hugs.
Angel - After my 3rd (and final fill) I had the PS take some out. He was putting in 100 CC and I had him take out 50cc. I felt so much better. I then had the expanders for 10 more months.
Nicki - that sounds like something I would do, especially with AI brain. But I don't drink coffee - have never liked it. don't even drink any caffeine anymore since chemo and the job it did on my stomach.
Beth - wishing you a happy and healthy year.
Margaret - how was the wedding.
Amy - hugs to you - I also posted on Gina's "rental home".
Well, we got to put away our dishes and pots in the cabinets. Not all of it is done, but probably 75%, except for my Passover dishes which might have to wait till sunday. Craig and I were quite the team, but after an hour, I hit the brick wall with sheer exhaustion. Couldn't even think straight anymore. I just never had this before chemo and AI's. The painter has to do some more painting and finishing touches in the kitchen and finish the drawers and doors. Hopefully I can do some cooking tomorrow night. I am keeping my menu simple for Wednesday night - it is just the 4 of us - still no company. I do hope to one day start having company again for the holidays and shabbat. I haven't had any since Dx.
Tomorrow I see my onc for my 3 month check up. I already made a list of side effects, but forgot to include the waking up to pee. I just noted the insomnia. So thank you all for telling me to tell the onc about how often I wake up to pee. Another lousy night of sleep last night. I didn't go to bed till after midnight so only took an Ativan as I need to get up by 6 at the very latest if I am going to get to work on time.
Dear Vickie - good luck to you at your onc visit tomorrow.
Wishing everyone from A to Z sweet dreams and feel good days. Hugs from Denver, Karen
-
Karen, Wishing you and your family a very happy Rosh Hashanah.
I hope you are feeling better.
Cy, slow down!
Odalys, I missed seeing you today!Charlene, can you take a muscle relaxer? I have one that is non narcotic that helps with the fill pain.
Colleen was happy to see you!
Brendas x 2- sending you both big hugs
Wild Jan is that a mini in your avatar? My sis trains them
Sending all love and prayers for easier days....
Love,
g

Good morning wonderful family.
Yup...just got up. I slept in a bit as I don't have to go to work till after my appointment.
It's a bit chilly on this end of the circle so I'm throwing a log on the fire and making coffee and hot chocolate so just follow your nose and come join me. Too lazy to cook breakfast but maybe someone will come along with more energy than me!
CY...SO happy to hear that you are feeling better and are taking it as easy as you can. I worked through chemo and it was rough! Love and hugs to you.
Brenda...it is hard to read here...I hit the bold button when I am posting so I can at least see what I'm typing and fix my typos before I submit!!
Peter...sprinkling some extra stardust your way...lets try for seven hours of sleep tonight for you. You need it. Have some warm milk (ewww).
Alaska Deb...bugs and fishes to ya...
Liz...thank you for the phone call. Geez I miss you. I miss all the Pinkstock girls...it's lonesome here without ya all.
Howdy Cherryl! Have a grand day
Nicki...come on sunshine sister...it's getting late. Make sure to add the coffee this morning.
Angel...I love your pictures!
Ok...gotta go check in at our other home but know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers and I love ya!!
-
Good morning campers. Well its another lovely day on this side of the camp.
BCO made some more improvements yesterday. We'll have all the furniture back in place before you know it.
Amy -- I'm so sorry to hear about the lung mets. You will kick this in the arse too.
Nicki -- I'm glad you aren't settling for just anything on the job front. No sense in 'jumping from the frying pan into the fire' so to speak.
Liz -- how are you feeling today. Waiting for results is nerver wracking but I hope the find what is wrong with you so they can address it properly.
Shirley -- how in the world do you break a rip and not notice??? Did you just wake up with your rib cage hurting?
Sheri -- I was hoping to hear from you yesterday. Did you have a good birthday?
Cheri -- are you up and walking yet? A month will go by faster than you think.
Jankay -- I don't know what to tell you about Missy. They really do need to find you someone though. At least to get you to appointments.
Brenda -- Did you get alot of rain yet?
Well, going to get some coffee started, be back in a bit.
-
Good Morning!
Vickie: Good luck at your appt. today! All will be fine...........even if I'm not to sure what you are going for. I'm thinking the thyroid..but I think I must have left my Cliff Notes at Gina's Rental.
Susan: I'm getting worried about you..........hope you didn't twist your ankle or anything running between this house and Gina's.
Cheri: Missing you to my dear........haven't checked the Hamptons yet!
Charlene: Good morning from one angel collector to another!
Liz: What did they say about your tummy troubles?
Brenda: Dentist went fine.............I spend so much time there that I just space out and he does whatever. (okay, CasinoGirl...quit laughing!) I agree with the fact that we should be royalty with all the gold and Crowns sported!
Madison: Hey, you're still waiting to hear from D.C............as in Washington? I think I missed something!
Shirley: How'd the appts. go yesterday? I think I read that you broke another rib..............and went to the onc yesterday. Hope all is a-ok!
Gotta find Nicki..................I think she is probably messing with one of the Cabana Boys at Gina's to get her some coffee this morning.
I hope all have a great day.........going to work for a short bit then have to take our Doggie back to the Doggie Docs.
Hugs,
Denise

Good Morning!! Got up a little early this morning, like many of you just did not rest well and I was tired too. I think I was up 3 times and woke many inbetween. Gonna be a long day.
Jas, rain? What is that? No, we still have not had a drop. They say now maybe some today or tomorrow but best bet will be Friday. At least it is not supposed to hit 90+ today - first time in 42 days.
Vicki - we'll meet you at the doctors and make sure all is well.
Cy, I thought I pushed myself beyond my capabilities, however, I think you are worse than me. I can tell you that the more I pushed myself - the longer it too me to recover an inch of ground. Do try to slow down and let your body get some rest. In the end - you'll be much better off. Now if I would listen to that advice too (I still push to much).
Odalys - sorry you can't get the pictures to post. This having to log on every single time you come is driving me nuts.
Girls, I'll check back but I don't think I can read or stay on here for long periods of time. Jas, what is it about this background that makes our eyes hurt - is there a glare to it??? I thought maybe it was just me and I had the problem but it does seem to be bothering a few others too.
Hugs everyone. Got to fold some clothes and hit the shower.
Brenda

Brenda, I think its a combo on the background color being brighter than we are used too and the font they are using. I hope they add in the ability to do color fonts, font size and different fonts eventually. They do seem to be working hard on getting things set up for us.
I really do understand their explanation of why they changed the boards. Nothing is more frustrating than have a software vendor be unresponsive about making changes you would like or when they send updates, making things worse.
From reading the site forum, I think they will be working to at least get the 'automatically sign me in' box to work. Right now, its non-functional. When that is working then you should be able to store your password on your home computer and it should use the browsers autocomplete feature and that will be better.
-
I done lost my big girl panties...oh I hate doctors appointments!! So sorry for whining.
Thank you all for holding my hand.
I am having my thyroid checked but I don't know what else he may want to do. He has never run any scans or test since my dx as I feel fine...just terrified that he will decide that maybe we should do all the tests and scans again "just to be on the safe side"...cuz thats the kind of guy he is. I know he will do what is best but I simply need a break.
Love ya all and I'll check in when I get to work...IF I can get my stinkin computer to work. I have to go buy two new computers today at some point!...sheesh. I need to clone me LOL.
