Sounds like Brighton was a fun time - maybe next time.
Linda - how are you holding up from the heat while finishing your radiation? My last radiation day was on April 25 so I was happy to avoid doing "my time" during the summer months. I'm sure this heat is an obstacle by itself. Hang in there your almost done!
Debbie - Are we going to have to start calling you Debbie Armstrong? Doesn't it feel great to be active again! I'm still walking 4 miles 5-6 times a week.
Thought about you last wkend my family gathered in Dubuque Iowa for my brother's wedding. Not to far from WI.
When you get back to OH we will have to plan a motorcycle get together soon.
Judy - Are you out there? I have a picture to send - PM your email and I can send it that way. How's your foot doing?
Jackson and Lansing area sisters - if a picnic is planned maybe some of us could carpool? Or if you just want to meet up sometime in our area let me know. I'm about 1hr south of Lansing 1/2 hr south of Jackson.
Looking forward to another get together.
Take care sisters and stay cool in this heat!
Bonnie -
Bonnie, Thank you. I'm doing OK. Making sure I get enough chocolate each day to boost the energy. Only 8 more to go! If you decide to get together in the Lansing or Jackson area, please count me in. Kalamazoo isn't that far. Debbie, how's it going in WI. Bet you love it. I'm busy volunteering with Komen group here. We are offering free mammograms in October from funds from race. So I'm helping with marketing. Thinking of going back to work parttime in September. Easing into it to see how I do. My brain is slowly coming back but I have my days.
Sorry I missed the gathering, just wasn't in the cards for me on Monday. Glad you had a great time.
Prayers to all. Linda -
I too am sorry to have missed the gathering!!! It just didn't work out for me - sorry but I hope we have something coming in the offing . . .
Hugs, Pat -

for the picnic? We could plan something out by Brighton/Pickney area as it seems to be fairly central for all. What do you think? -
Hi,
9/22 or 9/23 in the Brighton area would be great for me! I'm in California visiting my son and family the following weekend.
Six more rads to go!!
Linda -
Six more...counting down...I remember the days. You go girl!!!
-
Hi Ladies,
Just saw your post about a get together in September-Larry & I will be leaving this weekend (finally) for Torch Lake. Will not be back until October, cannot wait to see the fall colors then!
Linda, where are you in CA?
I grew up in Los Altos, about 45 minutes south of SF. Oh how I miss that area. Hope you are enjoying your visit.
Still trying to figure out all this surgical menopause. I'm having the hot flashes from **ell..but seem to recovering okay. They found a lump where I had the bi-lateral mast..but as it turned out it was a Lipoma? Some fatty tumor-I didn't even know I had anything left up there!!
OK..cannot make the next get together-but maybe something in October-November? Keep me posted!
Peace, Lorie -
Lorie,
Glad it was a fatty tumor, but it certainly must have been a scare. I'm in Michigan, but will be visiting my son and his family in San Diego.
Down to 5 boosters! Linda -

Kensington Metropark ???????
They have lots of great picnic areas and a great walking/biking trail around the lake. Costs a couple bucks to get in, but not bad and it's a great park.
I would love to see you all again.
I haven't posted much, but I do try to read at least once a week. -

Picnic plans - the only day that works for me is the 30th. But don't plan around me plan on what works for everyone else.
Summer almost over - how's everyone holding up? Lots of rain here we go from a drought to flooding. At least grass is nice and green again.

HI Everyone, especially Fancy and Sphynx, I'm back. I spent part of June in the hospital trying not to die of aspiration pneumonia and then moved to Kalamazoo and then had to have my knee replacement operated on again. I am finally healthy, but my daughter who lives with me broke her foot just the other day and is helpless because we haven't been able to get her to an orthopedic surgeon yet. We also have a new puppy (bought before the broken foot of course) who is not potty training as fast as wished. It's great to be living near my one grand child, but I miss everyone in the Detroit area. If anyone else on this site is from the Kalamazoo area and can recommend an oncologist, please do. I have a mediport that hasn't been flushed since the end of June and I have had to wait a month for an appt. with an oncologist! I've been off femara since March, which means I feel great, but I'm beginning to worry about what may be happening in my body. I might be able to get to a picnic on the 30th at Kensington, but don't know for sure. I promised to babysit, but don't remember when. Also I have to see how my daughter's foot goes. The price of gas is really cramping my style too.

I keep trying to post and have not had any luck. We are down to our last few days in the great north of WI..... about to return to our life already in progress. You'll all be amazed to hear that I stayed with my bicycle riding and have over 640 miles on my odometer now!!!!
Have now been on tamoxofin for 2 entire months. No atypical s.e. to date, so that's thrilling..... more hot flashes than before, but you all know I'm a hot mama!!
Whenever you're coming to Columbus, OH be sure to let me know. We have a guest room if you need lodging.
SusieLou: glad you found these gals.
Wing-girl: thanks for thinking of us!! Now the fun of the school year begins in earnest.
Be brave. Be strong. Hold each other up.

Winggirl- no- I didn't get the pictures! waaaaah, can you send them again?
Debbie-did you know we were on tv the day of the Komen race? On the Fox2 news channel when Ursulla was singing they panned the crowd and there we are!
I am in Physical Therapy now for truncal lymphedema. Is helping a lot. Trying to learn to do the massage myself, but I'm not as good at it as my therapist!
Any news on a next get together? Anything concrete yet?
-
I heard they changed this web site as they were trying to get away from one of the sponsors who took a lot of control and it was too hard to make changes. They plan to make many more changes and it is supposed to be better.
I have put this discussion board and a few others in my favorites. I can then check on my home once I log in and go directly to the site. They also send me e-mails when a new entry is made and I can go directly to that board.
I finally decided to quit wearing scarves and hats this past week. I feel "free". Hair is 1/2 inch now and several colors - darker but with bits of gray and some caramel coloring. Feeling better, but still having some strange sensations that go through my body. Guess this is the healing process.
Hope we'll meet up someday. Ann, where are you? I am here in Kalamazoo and perhaps we can meet up for coffee?
Hugs and prayers, Linda
-
Glad to be here - thank you for the welcome!
-
Dear Linda of Kalamazoo, Thank you for the info. I just found out tht Priority Health HMO actually dals with the Cancer Center here. However, due to a gigantic family fight with muoleer daughter will probbly b on the way to moving back to Detroit again.
Ann
-
Sorry to hear this Ann. I'll be out of state a lot until Oct 2. If you are still in Kalamazoo after that, let's get together. Send me a PM and I'll give you my e-mails address, etc.
Well dear friends, I am officially going back to work today. I've been working a little at home, but I'm heading to North Carolina this afternoon for a couple of days. Am a bit nervous to get back in the saddle and travel by myself. I decided to begin working part time for a while so I can gain some confidence back.
Prayers to all, Linda
-
Just stopping by to see how my MI friends are. This has been a quiet site for sometime now. Hoping all are just busy and confused with the "new" boards.
Thinking of you all and welcoming the newcomers!
Hugs,
Denise
