Paula, I will be arriving Thursday at 5:15. You will be rooming with me and Ravdeb and Michelle. What time are you arriving?

Ravdeb: What do you mean by winter weather? It's summertime in the U.S. Chicago is in the States, right? Should I put away all my skimpy outfits and bring my winter garb instead? (LOL)

    Welcome back Michele.
Brenda...the weather here in Chicago is cold and very, very rainy...windy, flash flood warnings..the works! This is winter weather for me and you may feel the same...60's during the day. Up to 72 F. This is Israeli winter!!
Just came home and we were driving in rains that were so bad along with wind that in parts we could only see white.

Paula..so excited you are really coming!

RoseMarie...that is neat! You met Cathy!

    Hello, Hello!

MY excitement is growing and growing. I've been doing things to get ready for this event all weekend and now I cannot think of anything else. My animal print outfit arrived. Yea!!!!!

Paula, I agree with Graycie . . . summer clothes, some long pants for the evening at Laura's home, and a light jacket or sweater. If you are one who gets cold toes, maybe some closed shoes like sneakers, as well.

Brenda: We will catch up with each other at the hotel. Let's PM our cell phone numbers to each other and then when you are back form being with your friend, we'll get together. What time do you arrive? Are you coming into O'Hare? Perhaps we can meet there and travel to the hotel with MaryAnne and Tracy.

    have a lovely sleep now,
    Mary

    Good Evening My Friends,

Thanks girls for the congratulatory messages on selling our home, it took long enough though…..

We had a fantastic couple of days up at the trailer although a little cool for this time of the year, but no rain. We actually had to light the furnace last night as it was so cool!!!

My SIL and her dh arrived yesterday and we had a blast laughing, having a few coolies while my dh’s BIL tried to teach me to play ucher while my head was buzzing from one too many coolers.LOL. I laughed as he was so serious and I was just having fun and said yah whatever when the cards didn’t work out. My SIL was just as silly as I was and my dh wasn’t too far behind, at least we didn’t annoy the neighbours too much, haa haaJ

I was getting my stuff ready for returning to work tomorrow after having 2 weeks off and was starting to put everything away and thought to myself hey let it sit there for one night as our house is no longer for sale!

My SIL’s best friend was just diagnosed with bc on Wednesday of last week, don’t know stage, type etc as it was just confirmed by a biopsy. She just turned 40 in the fall last year. I felt so bad for my SIL as she started to cry, she said first you and now my best friend…. I told her to let her friend know that I would be here if she needed someone to talk to our ask questions but didn’t want to pry. I know her but not that personally.

Hey I only have to work 4 days this week and then its off to Chicago to meet all my sisters, cant wait…not packed yet but that will happen between now and Wednesday night.

Paula – I am so happy that you are going to make it and yes yes stay in our room the maximum # of people is 4 and we only have 3 without you! There are two double beds and a cot, plus it will cut down tremendously on the hotel accommodation cost.

Laura – When are you venturing out to get snackies and all the stuff for the suite on Friday, I would be willing to help out or chip in money for it, let me know!

Mary - I don’t arrive until at the airport until around 9:15 p.m. so maybe we could have each other;s cell #s so I can meet up with the Thursday arrivals and have a very drinks for a snack.

Tracyseattle – it sounds like life will be better without your ex if he has to blow into a breathalyzer to start it.

Deb – Glad to hear that you made a safe landing in Chicago and have already started to enjoy your time. You do have my cell phone # correct?

Cindy – it sucks that this is a repeat performance of chemo but this will be the killer of all those nasty, never to revisit this road again….two more to go!

Gotta go to sleep, will check back tomorrow…have a great snooze everyone.

    Love Michele

Tracy, by the looks of the temp's I might not bring long pants either since I will only be there for two days but I guess it wouldn't hurt to throw a pair of jeans in my suitcase just in case.

Weather report..flash flood warnings here in Cook County.
For those coming from cooler climates like Seattle...it is hot and muggy here along with the rain. For me, it's not hot but my friend here thinks I'm nuts. Capris are fine and I wore sandals today despite the rain..just sandals that can endure floods!

I love Old Navy!!! I miss stores like this! Must get sizes for my menfolk as they have put in orders for cargo pants.

Paula..we even get Philadelphia whipped in Israel..but not always.

Am on a search for rootbeer candies/suckers for my ailing uncle. Have not found them.

My Israeli girlfriend told me to enjoy what America has to offer and not to skimp on pancakes!

I decided that rain will not melt me.

I did not bring my cheetah shoes or socks. I meant to bring the socks..but wait..maybe I did bring the shoes..will check it out...can't remember. I was spacey when I packed.

Off to the doctor (PCP) for anual visit - fun,fun - I've got my list of aches and pains ready for her...

I did a dumb thing - my LE glove is (was) white and my sleeve is tan so I bought some dye to dye my glove tan - it's now army green oh well! I look like a dufus anyway-

Counting down the days!! We should be there around 6:00 Chicago time on Friday.
Laura, which way did you recommend we come?? I could go back and check the posts but I'm being lazy
I won't be there in time to shop but let me know how much it is and I'll pitch in.
btw, Bacardi puts out a Mojito drink in a bottle - not bad at all - had one the other day and thought of Amy!

My laptop is going to the spa while I am away in Chicago - it needs some rest & relaxation as it is getting VERY slow (Like me!). I have to take it to the people tomorrow morning so I will be having withdrawals tomorrow night!!!!

I won't be on email after about 4pm tomorrow.....

GOSH!!!! It is getting close now!!!

Ugh - appt was fine but the doc said she'd order an x-ray of my leg if it made me feel better. So I had the x-ray - in between pics I saw the technician grimace so I freaked out and started crying. He said he had to retake the x-ray he had just done so that's why he grimaced but immediately I was thinking the worst. I can't wait for the doc to call to relieve all my fears...

    AAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!!!!

Then I had blood drawn - I started crying again - the girl drawing blood said, "I'm not supposed to say this to you but it's on my heart to tell you that God really cares about you and loves you." More tears!

If I'm not crying this weekend it's because I'm all cried out! lol...well maybe "col"

Awwwwww, Rosemarie, too much for you to have done with everything else on your mind with the trip. I'm sure everything is fine. I'm glad I don't have any doctor appointments this week or I would be a wreck too worrying if something was wrong while I was away. I also cry when I see a weird look on their face, my imagination starts working overtime...How far of a ride is it for you to Chicago?

I am a baby...everything was fine on the x-ray...(then I start thinking, what about a scan though...)

It's about a 3 hour trip. We gain an hour going so that's good! I'm so excited - now I can relax a bit and get geared up for the weekend. I have so enjoyed the two times I've seen Cathy and the time I spent with Deb and Laura.

Well...I think everything is under control. Sounds like everyone is packing and tying up lose ends.

    RoseMarie -
I feel so bad you had to deal with that! Hang in there...I just hate that the doubt/fear is always there. Once you get here, you can unwind a bit and enjoy yourself...As for the directions...I would reccomend you take a route that AVOIDS the Dan Ryan or the Kennedy (I-90) - you are coming right smack in the middle of rush hour. 294 North is one suggestion...in fact, I think it's the only other way...but I'm not sure. Have a safe trip! Can't wait to see you AGAIN!

    Michelle -
Can't wait to meet you! It's great that you won't be traveling with that Monkey on your back...your house! LOL The timing could not have been better! Now you can relax and enjoy - have a safe trip!

    Paula:
Gosh, you're generous. I don't know what to ask for. I collect bookmarks so if you see one that is made from a material found in Australia or with some kind of design representing the culture, etc. That would be something fun for me. Of course, the BEST thing is that you are bringing yourself!!!!! Yipee!!!!

    Paula - (Mary)
Instead of a wallet, why don't you bring Mary a bookmark made out of Kangaroo Crotch...LOL! That is too funny! What will you Aussies come up with next! Can you bring me a Kangaroo? I always wanted one! I would name it Kanga...gee how creative is that...NOT! LOL

    -----------------------

I'm getting punchy now...I can tell I'm over tired...nite-nite, girls!

    ----------------------

Hey...one more thing...I miss Debbie! Where the heck are the Wards...are they lost in America? (That is one of my favorite movies, btw.)

Debbie if you're reading this and you just can't log in...Hi there! Hope you're having fun state-side. I just may try Rog's cell phone soon if we don't hear from you...I'm still stockpiling lots of coupons for us.

Can't wait to meet you and everyone!

I will probably see you and the other girls on Thursday night...if there aren't enough seats and you can't get on a flight...stand up and start crying and beg for someone to give up their seat! Tell them you are a Rocktober Chemo Girl and you're one heck of a survivor - and that pink cheetah rules - and that you really deserve a seat! LOL LOL I bet it would work! But try to have someone video it!
