I don't know if I will have any cheetah pj's...I will keep looking..I have something I might be able to wear but not without something over it or should I say under it. I am certainly not wearing the bikini bottom's so I will wear stretch pants or something. The only problem is, the top might be skintight. I keep going up and up in the weight department........

Since my health insurance changed with my new job, I had to transfer my Arimidex pescrip to another pharmacy. I went today to pick it up. They told me that they called the Dr. and he denied the refill. OK - I am supposed to take it for 5 years, right? So why in the heck would the Dr. deny the refill??? So now I am out of Arimidex and have to wait till Monday to call the Dr. and let him know just how I feel about this!!!! ARRGGGHHHH.....

My weight has gone up a lot. I had lost 40 lbs on chemo and now it is pretty much back.

I need to go check my pjs..... talk to you all later.

I never found any cheetah jammies but am working on a cheetah outfit somehow! I'm in a mode like this...I find something I like and tell myself I'll return to get it and then find they don't have it anymore. I had taught myself NEVER TO DO THAT and I'm returning to my old habits!

Tracy..that is so annoying when things like this happen with presciptions and doctor appts. I have this happen to me all the time with my follow ups for my non-cancer issues. They will tell me I did that already this year and I'm telling them I do those check ups and doctor follow ups every 6 months and they should look at my records before making me go insane!

I will be arriving at the hotel, on my own, at 4 pm Fri afternoon. I expect a red carpet welcome!

I now have small items piled next to my bathroom sink and on my bedroom chair of things I mustn't forget to take with me. I'm now in panic mode as I dream about what I'll be forgetting. My girlfriend reminded me that there ARE stores in the States!

Deb - must be something in the name!! I have piles of things around , and am driving Roger insane with trying to remember to take everything. He too has said ' they have shops there , we can buy shampoo and tweezers you know'. I just like to take EVERYTHING!!
well, Rogers grand dad comes for Sam this evening , thats usually the beginning of the countdown. I just have all of the bedding to wash , then thats everything in the house washed and ironed - then i can relax !
Another thing that drives Rog mad is looking at something , not buying it , then going back, either another day , or after ive looked everywhere else , and its gone. I am getting better , but enter panic mode almost when he comes with me and just BUYS things!
Not sure what time we will be there , dont know what time which direction we will be coming from next ( that panics me too) but will aim for about the same time .

Hello Rock-tober ladies. I hope I am not intruding.
I just wanted to say that I hope your get-together will make wonderful memories. Don't forget to share pictures with us!

By the way I found this at Amazon.com.
    cheetah t-shirt

Wouldn't that be funny to see everyone being so puzzled watching you all walk in a line with it on!

If you found it less exciting, then maybe this could be of your choice!

Have a blast! Wishing you a safe trip!

    Timtam -
Love it! Girls...don't forget to pack your tails! LOL Thanks...that was so nice of you! Actually, that leopard shirt is cute!
    Quote:

ravdeb/Mary asked: Do we really need hiking boots for Laura's place?

Would I do that to you! LOL NO YOU DON'T NEED HIKING BOOTS! If you want to walk the trails (they're not THAAAAT long) you can wear regular shoes...although high heels...not highly recommended.

    Have a great Sunday...
Shelby Laura is here...took her to pom-pon training yesterday so she could learn from my oldest niece, Nicole...her team hosted a junior seminar for pom-pon wannabes. It was 4 hours...the big girls taught the little girls a routine that they performed for us:

Tim Tam - I saw a cheetah shirt very similar to that one a few weekends ago - I wish I would have bought it!! Guess my jammies will have to do. Thanks for your good wishes and I am sure we will all have stories about our Rocktober fest to share with you and other ladies here on bc.org....

I usually get my Arimidex a week or so early too, but this had to do with timing of getting my new insurance card, etc.... FRUSTRATING. Luckily I found that I had one more for today and I hope to have the problem solved so that I can pick up my perscription tomorrow.

I am off to the Aquafest volunteer party - this is one of the things that the AquaMonster raked me over the coals about in front of the entire committee - I didn't want to have to plan this party all by myself so soon after Aquafest. No one (including AquaMonster was stepping forward to offer to do it) so she made a big deal to everyone that I didn't care about the volunteers..... ARRRGGGHHH!!!!

Well, someone finally stepped forward to do it (not her!) and my sweet Dave has offered to cook the burgers & hot dogs along with the rest of my Kiwanis club, so the picnic is going to happen. I sure hope some volunteers show up to enjoy it - oh yeah and COLDSTONE is coming with FREE Ice cream!!!! WAHOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO......

I will be glad when it is over - Talk to you all later!

Tracey - what a monster - some people just enjoy stirring up trouble. What is she gaining from it - a power trip? Oh well , soon you wont have to deal with her anymore, thankgoodness. Good old Delightful Dave stepping in to rescue you. Is he better now ?? I hope so - someone needs to look after our Tracy.
Dont know who coldstone is/are but they get my vote if they are bringing icecream.

Timtam - aw shucks - what a shame i dont have room in my case for a cheetah tail LOL!!

Oh pom poms!! Rememebr how my cheerleader careere was cruelly taken from me? Sob - that brings it all back - sob (LOL) I think i NEED some pom poms!!

Kelly, I love roller blading but I need new roller blades......Make sure you wear your pads. Even though you might feel silly in them they could save you if you fall. I got a nasty gash on my elbow that got infected so now I am afraid not to wear at least the elbow pads.

Tracy, that is strange about the Arimidex. That has to be a mistake......hopefully you get it straightened out. Good Luck with your party, You are a good sport, some people can really be nasty and Dave to the rescue. How cute he is.

Debbie, When are you leaving for the States? and how long will you be here?
Ravdeb, How about you? I know you are staying a month but when are you arriving?

Fumi, That top is cute......actually I have a top something like that which reminds me I can bring that to wear. Thanks, But unfortunately I won't have a tail.......that's a riot............lol...We will definitely be taking lot's of pictures......Which reminds me, I better add the camera to my list.

Laura, Your nieces are really cute. That is so nice that you are so close with them. Poor Debbie, maybe they will let her borrow the pom pom's so she can do a cheer for us.....

Debbie: Coldstone is an ice cream company much like 31 Flavors is. I like their cookies and cream and cheesecake flavors.

About the list. What I mean is this kind of list:

    1. cheetah outfit or something animal skin-like (faux, not real, of course)
    2. baby picture
    3. a little gift or show and tell

Anything else that is vital for our get-together?

I'm getting ready to job search in the upcoming weeks and to avoid the prescription issue, I'm going to get the 3 month supply that you get from the through the mail prescription plans so that I shouldn't have any problems while waiting for new insurance to kick in. I take coreg and lipitor.

Oh my gosh, I'm actually going to meet my cyber friends in the flesh!

I will never get that far behind again!

Sounds like our summers are racing along, except Paula who is having Winter.

Laura, our Fashion model. They picked a good one. You always look so well put together, you likely won't even need training. Hope you get some great photos-maybe even a movie option.LOL.

Baby picture...I bet I can pick your Tadah, will you be able to pick mine? I had no freckles as a baby but am plastered now. As I age I get more and more. By the time I am 80 we will look like sisters.LOL.

Tracey, and Mary, I arrive at 12:29 AM, AC flight 517 from Montreal, Thursday. Why don't we share a cab. Three way split of 50 sounds good. And we wouldn't have to book it, in case someone runs late. Will you be carrying a cell phone?

Show and Tell???Did we agree we are giving away what we bring? I tried to fit my 2 ton, 40 foot dragon boat in my luggage but ...No it will have to be something smaller.

Cindy, so glad to see you are sailing through the chemo. You will be our visual reminder of this devastating disease. I am amazed at your continuing courage and fortitude. I am a big crier so I'll bring Kleenex.

Amy, hope your puppy training is going well. Any pics yet?
I am jealous, a new puppy is so lovable.

Victoria has left us again. I always appreciated her encouraging words. Quite an interesting person. If you read this V I hope your Expo is all you want it to be.Take good care of yourself and live every moment. Fists up!

Yikes this is getting long. Will take a break and put Patrick to bed. Then I'll let you know what I have been up to this past month.

    Fists up!

MaryAnne!!! I was missing you! Glad you are back with us! I like the idea of sharing a cab, sounds like you will be the first one in so you will have to wait for Mary & I - is there anyone else ocming in on Thursday afternoon?

Well, the picnic was over. Not many showed up, but those that came had fun and it meant that every person there got a door prize which was kind of cool... The AquaMonster didn't show her wicked green & purple head so all was good. I am convinced she is hold up in her lair making a plan for the elections on Thursday. Friday I will be drinking heavily and celebrating because IT WILL BE OVER!!! Then.......... ON TO CHICAGO and my Rocktober Sisters!

Fumi, I WANT that shirt. I shall have to look for it online. My daughter is totally into cheetah-wear. She even has these things that we roll her onto to make little hair buns.

The roller rink was fun and Miss Muffet is doing so good!! The 'floor' manager (an older gentlemen in charge of keeping the kids in line and making the faster ones watch out for little guys) was so nice to her and kept whistling at her with his whistle pretending she was going too fast.

She did the limbo on her skates and got a prize, she was the 2nd place winner. We played 4 corners and we won! I never win! We played red light green light and didn't win, we can't stop too good.

The floor manager gave us free passes to come back again and the skate instructor said she'd be happy to do private lessons for us since we can't come on Saturdays. Mr. Paul advised not to come back on a Friday night as we'd get run over even tho they really try to keep it controlled, there's just so many people.

Oh and we did 2 sessions, skated from 2pm to 6pm, so we are tired Cheetah girls! It was fantastic exercise and even tho my dd fell a few times, because she really is going faster and trying new things, she wants to go do it again!!

    AquaMonster, Laura, that is funny!!

Tracy, I am glad you got thru it and hopefully, you won't volunteer again next year. You have enough on your hands without that woman stirring you up.

I sure hope you all have fun, I am so jealous!

So excited and counting down the days!! My kids start school on Wed. so next week will be their first full week of school - the closer we get to "Rocktober fest", the more I'm thinking I'm going to either pull them out early on Friday or keep them home all together - I just CAN'T WAIT!

Tracy - so sorry you had to deal with the Aquafest monster. I don't get it either!!! Ugh! I hope you get your meds issue resolved today!
    Gail - I'm not quite as young as Debbie - I'm 39
Kelly - we are so going to miss everyone that can't make it!! Sounds like you Cheetah girls had fun at the rink!!
We celebrated Justin's b-day yesterday at the neighborhood pool - I'm very proud of my cake

    Brenda -
"Presents" are nice, but what is more vital is "presence".

    Tracy -
Nice photos! It's so great that you have dedicated so much of your time. You deserve to get drunk! Cheers!
My next "donation" is in the form of a team in September's - 5k.

    Debbie -
I don't know about your cheerleading story...fill me in sometime!

    Paula -
Speaking of bums...I'm still bummed... !

    Mary-Anne -
Awwww...thanks! Some of the girls are bringing something that represents their homeland similar to a show & tell, some are bringing a little something for each girl, some are bringing an item to raffle off while others simply bringing photos of family, friends, etc...nothing is expected! However, a baby photo would be great!

    RoseMarie -
That cake is awesome! And you said you don't have a creative bone in your body...NOT!

    ravdeb -
Still waiting for a photo of the huge Tortoise...are you sure it wasn't a mouse! LOL

I'm racing out the door because Kelby has a bladder infection, so we're going to the vet. Poor thing...she went to my parents this weekend and played with their dogs and had way too much fun, didn't drink enough water, didn't pee enough because she was racing through the house, and now she's miserable.

    here's a pic...so adorable.

    Rosemarie:
Terrific cake! It displays creativity and love and I'm sure it was delicious. Justin will never forget his "pool cake".

Amy: Aw-w-w!!! What an adorable picture of your loved ones . . . doggie & hubby. How much does she weigh now? I'm staying a my sister's house this week and her 2-year-old black lab named Stella, looks just like Kelby. She loves to cuddle as I can see that Kelby does. That's fine but after a while my legs need to move and if she is in a dead sleep her 70 pounds are heavy. Isn't it the most comforting thing to stroke her velvet ears and muzzle. I hope she is well soon. Isn't that just like a kid . . . getting sick from having too much fun.

To everyone: I agree that bringing things is voluntary, not mandatory. I think the baby pictures are just so we have fun seeing our long-ago selves. I for one, enjoy picture of kids and grandkids, but if you don't want to bring a bunch of pictures, that's okay. It sounds like some of us have made or are bringing little gifts. Again, not expected by anyone. My motives are just to express the love and sisterhood I feel for everyone. And, even if you are not going to be in Chicago, I still have something which will be coming to you.

I think the raffle or gift exchange idea comes from a sort of game that both Tracy and I suggested. This it how it works. Everyone who wants to participates brings a wrapped gift. Sometime people do it with white elephant or gag gifts. Other times it is something small with a price limit. Tracy suggested $10.00. All the gifts go in a pile. Everyone participating draws a number randomly. The person with #1 gets to chose the first gift from the pile. They unwrap the gift and everyone goes "O-O-O and Ah-h-h". Then it's the turn of person #2. This person can either chose a new gift from the pile or "steal" the gift that #1 unwrapped. Subsequently, each person can either chose an unwrapped gift or "steal" a gift that is alread unwrapped. The "stealing" creates a lot of laughing and silly behavior. When I have played this before, we put a 3-steal limit on the game. If a gift has been "stolen" 3 times, it becomes "dead" and the person who has it (the 3rd owner) gets to keep it. If you don't put a limit on it, the "stealing" could go on all night. The thing is, everyone who chooses to participate comes away with a gift and everyone has a fun time unwrapping, choosing, and "stealing".

We've done this gift exchange at our church women's group Christmas party for a few years. It's all good natured fun. At that event many women give gift certificates for things. For example, one year a really popular "steal" was a certificate for 6 home-baked pies during the coming year. One year I got a certificate for a quart of home-made spaghetti sauce, pasta, and a dozen rolls. That was a nice one. I always give the gift of something knitted and then have fun with the recipient in choosing a pattern and yarns for her gift. Another popular gift was from a woman who does photography. She gave a 30 minute session of photography and a final picture of the recipients family.

So, if others want to play I think I can speak for Tracy in saying that it is a fun way to enjoy each other's company. I'm sure that small things like a little gift book, lotion, candy, or things like that would be appropriate. I'll tuck a few sheets of gift wrap in my suitcase so that if we do this it will be available. And I'll make some number tiles so we can pick them for our turns at the gifts.

Whatever we do, it will be enjoyable and fun - actually a thrill to be with all of you . . . whether you are in person or in spirit. Think of all the toasts we're going to make!

I am with everyone else - just being together and sharing our friendship is what is important! Anything else we do will be fun, but certainly not the focal point of our trip!

I am flexible - anything works for me!

    Quick Reminder:

If you bring a baby pic...put it an envelope and bring it to the suite...don't show it to anyone...we'll try to guess who's - who!

Ok - i have some little things - let me know before Tues evening if i have to wrap them !! If Mr Customs unwraps them i will be knocking on Marys door for some paper and sellotape.
Rosemarie - where you live looks like my cousins housing estate in PA , with th epool etc. The kids must love it in the Summer - i bet its good for you too , somewhere for the kids to meet without a car journey involved!! Have you ever been to Hooks Drug Store museum near you - is it worth a visit??

Laura - i was press ganged into taking a cheer leading squad at school for the 10 year olds. I psyched myself up for it , and was looking forwards to it - then they decided that they didnt have insurance to cover it (whether they meant the cheerleading or me is still a mute point!) So , no pom poms for me!!
What a cute dog !! I bet hes not that still very often!! Sam is currently on his holidays at Great Grandads - the house feels empty!!
